shadow and table of content issues

Hello! I have some problems with Adobe Indesign

First:, I'm doing this effect with a text block:

Good.jpg

and all I can get is:Bad.jpg

How can I do?

In addition, I have a problem with a table of contents:

toc.jpg

they are not in the right order and I don't know why because the numbers are in the right order...

Sorry for my bad English...

Thank you very much

Okay, I think I understand how this page is constructed. All securities seem to be inline frames, and ID seems to read the lower frame before the higher a bcause it is to the left.

I have manged to fix this by removing the text for the title of the chapter of the inside of the frame anchored in a little test and paste in the text flow in front of the image, leaving the corner round and empty frame inline. Now, select inline frame flowing and change the anchored object > Options... from Inline or above line Custom and make sure that uncheck the prevent manual positioning. Set the X position relative to the anchor marker and uncheck the box to keep the object in the upper and lower limits of column and say OK, and then drag the frame to surround the text. Once you have properly positioned him to go back to options and tick the box to prevent any manual movement.

Frankly, however, I think that there are probably better ways to set up the page. With just like in the subject online adds an incredible amount of complexity available and no doubt a lot of work to set the text. Maybe you can use things like points out custom or nets of paragraph rather than the boxes from the different headings. These things can be defined as part of a paragraph style and will make everything much simpler.

I thought dividing large text image that contains all executives rooted in several shorter frames that extend to the entire width of the page might also work, but it is not so long that OCD is looking for styles that are contained in the anchored frames. That is still the position of the image that contains the text that governs the order in the table of contents.

  • How to set different fonts for numbers in the titles and tables of contents

    Hello

    I noticed some people to use a different font for the numbers in the titles and tables of contents to get an extra magic. Is it possible to automate the use of fonts in paragraph styles?

    Oh and suggestions on which fonts would be a good thing for numbers?

    Thank you!

    Furthermore, you must doany of this fancy stuff if you use an OpenType font that made OSF glyphs (and if you are not you will need to set the font as part of your style). Just head on to the style definition and enable OSF there OpenType features section.

  • Dissappearing glossary and table of contents

    I use Robohelp 7 for the first time (I used before V6), and I have a problem with my glossary and table of contents. I created the two - and they appear when I generate and publish, but I can't understand how do seem to be edited.

    If I click on in the project manager (they are each listed as helpSysName (Default), if that makes a difference) and then select Edit - nothing seems to happen.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! The default loading environment did the trick.

    I thought it should be included in a pod somewhere, but I don't couldn't find it. Very frustrating. Thanks for saving me from that.

  • Table of contents issue in Captivate 8!

    Hello

    I use 8 Captivate and noticed that the width of the table of contents and the size of the font of titles are always the same in the primary, tablets, and mobile views.

    It is therefore impossible to use a size of width and the police appropriate to the main display because it will not exceed the edges of the mobile view, and if I do to adapt to this latter view, it becames too small for the primary display.

    How can I have a different TOC width and font size of table of contents for each display mode?

    If you use query selectors media in the CSS after you publish the project, you can have control more the sizes of fonts in any size of device. How do you use the questions from the media that you tell, stir with eyes wonder? Glad you asked, lets give it a whirl!

    First, we're going to get an overview of the project in a browser and to inspect the items in the table of contents to get their name of CSS class. We also take note of the name of the CSS file that has the rules of the element.

    So, we see that the font for each of these three sizes are controlled by the following CSS classes:

    .tocTitleText - "table of contents".

    .tocSlideTitleHeading - 'page title '.

    .tocText - "Slide".

    And the CSS for these classes is located in CPLibraryAll.css (which is put in the assets/css folder of the published project).

    For once we finish tinkering with our project and we are ready to add the media question our training cake icing, publish the project and navigate to the assets/css folder, and open the CPLibraryAll.css file in your favorite text editor. Most of the CSS been compressed up there at the top, but fear not, we'll just do scroll to the bottom of the file and create new things. Here's some info on the media if there will are curious. It's just the first link at random on the topic that I thought was useful, there are many others if you google it. Now to return to the program!

    At the bottom of the CSS file add these three requests, I'll paste it here so you can simply take their easy:

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 1024px) {}

    {.tocTitleText}

    do-size: 18px;

    }

    {.tocSlideTitleHeading}

    font size: 15px;

    }

    {.tocText}

    font size: 21px;

    }

    }

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 768px) {}

    {.tocTitleText}

    font size: 15px;

    }

    {.tocSlideTitleHeading}

    do-size: 12px;

    }

    {.tocText}

    do-size: 18px;

    }

    }

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 360px) {}

    {.tocTitleText}

    font size: 13px;

    }

    {.tocSlideTitleHeading}

    do-size: 10px;

    }

    {.tocText}

    do-size: 16px;

    }

    }

    Now, you will probably change these values to the size of the font to something more close to what you were going, but stick to the same concept: small fonts for the smaller device, large fonts for larger sizes of device. My values here are quite subtle, so don't be afraid to experiment, and I used the pixel (px) instead of sizes in points (pt) so you can change that as well. Nevertheless, do not hesitate to go back into this file and adjust the sizes more to your taste if watch you it and it is not quite to the height.

    So it's probably a little obvious by the text in the Scriptures we've created rules for these three classes that apply only in certain situations, it is better media queries. In this case, we have a set of queries, one for each when the device or look a size struck the unit standard sweet spots: 360, 768 and 1024 pixels width respectively. Allows to extract a screengrab of it in action:

    Here we see for a width of 344 device, max-device-width: query 360px a kicking and substituted the class selectors. In the example, I highlighted the tocSlideTitleHeading to show the link between what it looks like and how the media query has adjusted the font size.

    My experience with the PAC was that if perform you this type of change (introduce the code or settings directly in CAP files) its best to do once you are all written when publishing done with the project. I can't say for sure, but I guess that if you make changes to the CSS file then go back and edit the project in Cape Town and re - publish your tricks of the media query will get wiped out and you will need to put back in. Just something to keep in mind.

    So there go! Questions from the media, FTW!

  • Question about subjects, books and tables of contents

    I have a question about the subjects, books and tocs. I have a project that someone else created, and my task is to create a new topic and add it to the table of contents. I created the topic, but when I generate CHM project it does not appear in the table of contents. I tried to update the table of contents. What I think (I guess) could be the problem, is the 'links to the topics', when I see the links to the topics in other areas (old) they seem to have a link to the main book, but the new one is not mine. Could you help me? Thank you!!!

    It seems that you have a manual table of contents page, rather than using the table of contents of CHM.

    The toc.htm topic that you see in your list of topics is probably where you will need to add your new topic.

    If the table of contents was already populated when you inherited the project, I suspect the previous author was using it just to keep track of the topics they had added manually to the topic toc.htm - added the CHM topic in summary you did mark the column of the table of contents in the list of topics like '' Yes. '' then add to the toc.htm manual is not. Hope that makes sense.

    P.S. Just guess that it is installing what I can see in the screenshot. It is quite unusual, so I hope I'm right.

  • Table of contents issue

    Hello all - I'm new to the forums and relatively new to the framework, but I was an author of technology for 10 years.

    I added a chapter of a book, and it will not be displayed in my table of contents.  I have not configured the original TOC, so I don't know why he sees the other chapters (I'm still learning).

    I played with a few things, but can't make it work.  I don't want to put in place of the paradigms that could limit the creativity of your answers, so I'll wait before I explain what I tried.

    Any suggestions?

    I imported the former chapter the new formats.  I'm assuming that this will ensure that the paragraph format names are the same.  What is a good hypothesis?

    Fix.

    ... There is no option in virtue to change it to set up the Table of contents.

    Ah. This suggests that the TOC file is not a 'real' TOC file (generated).

    It can be implemented by generating a table of contents, and then by copying and pasting in an ordinary chapter file. Or, it may have been created by artisan xrefs. Or it may have been a file generated at the same time, but lost this status due to a moving/renaming operation inelegant. These scenarios suggest that the author didn't know how to build and maintain an automagic OCD, or they had some unique formatting or content problem that prevented the use of a table of contents generated.

    You may need to perform a backup of this file, delete it from the book, make a Add > Table of contents to generate a new and import failure TOC file formats.

    But not yet. Wait for a few other remote other contributors here crystal ball readings.

    And is there something weird about this OCD, as text drags inputs that can be lost if generated automatically?

  • RoboHelp glossary, Index and table of contents features

    I looked online training that contained a very nice glossary.  I'm trying to figure if Robohelp is what I need to accomplish something like that, since he claims to have this great glossary, Index and the characteristics of the table of contents.  However, I can't find a demonstration developed in Robohelp showing what those characteristics are capable.  Anyone know of any event that I could check to see if you have what I'm looking for before buy you?

    Hi, Melbert2000

    It is not clear if you use RoboHelp already or who have installed the trial as part of your assessment. Assuming that you have, each version of RoboHelp comes with examples of projects to help explore the features. For example, Adobe RoboHelp 8 comes with a project called Web graphics.

    It would be a quick way to see the table of contents/Index/Glossary in action on my site, called Clownfish school.

    http://www.showmethedemo.com/clownfish_school/

    You will notice that the glossary is visible in two ways. First of all, like a glossary that appear in the Navigation pane. Second is in the form or the hotspots in expansion in the text of the heading. You can see some examples if you go to the 'News of Thailand and the Greece' topic click the brown color words "Anemonefish" and "Clowns" and you will see how hotspots glossary display or hide the by clicking on them.

    As part of your evaluation of the purchase, I recommend you download the Adobe RoboHelp evaluator Guide here to get a better idea of the different characteristics:

    https://Acrobat.com/#d=5bE00menRN24n8TzSel0Iw

    And the graphic Web project can be downloaded here:

    I hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to make multiple indexes and tables of contents?

    I have InDesign CS2.  I was wondering, is it possible to make several index? For example, an index of names, a separate index for places. Similarly, is it possible to make several Tables of contents? What I really want, it's a Table of contents, list of illustrations, a list of maps and a list of the cards.  What is the best way to go about this?  I know I can make a table of contents, copy the text and use it, then modify the toc settings to make a new. So my main concern is the index, but I'm curious to know if there is a better way for tables of contents.

    Thank you

    An InDesign document can have as many tables of contents you want, but you get only to create an index. One solution is to combine everything in a single index, and then copy and paste it into separate stories at the end. I'm a little fuzzy on the details of how get you this to sort (I never had the need, so far, to do), but it has been described here more than once. I think that a forum for several index search you would probably get the answer.

  • Manual large editions with sensitive html setting. Is there a way to determine how the entries appear in the table of contents?

    I publish major textbooks with sensitive html setting. Is there a way to determine how the entries appear in the table of contents? If I publish a small section of the manual then 2nd level entries appear as eruptions under the chapter name, but if I publish the manual in its entirety then level 2 headings are not at all. I would like them to appear as the eruptions in the table of contents, but I need to publish the manual as a whole in order to keep the cross references. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    I think that this would make clearer - and it would skip and tables of contents of books under.

  • Table of contents displays a mess

    I created and generated a Table of contents and I'm having a weird problem.   He is a 19-page document and Table of contents is set up to display items 1 and 2.  Everything went well, except that to the a page Heading 1 on top of the page opens in the Table of contents under the heading level 1 below - i.e., they are in the wrong order!

    Yes, on the page.

    Text 9

    Text 10

    But he returned on the Table of contents.

    Text 10

    Text 9

    Any ideas on why it would do that?

    9 and 10 numbers page, or numbered paragraphs?

    TOC paragraphs in psotion on the page, then the things that are more left get picked up before things that are less advantage, if that makes sense.

  • Captivate Table of contents (TOC)

    Hello

    I am putting together a multimedia CD in Captivate, which will be essentially a nice interface for users to navigate to attached PDF and DOC files and a little video instruction here and there.  I want to include a search and table of contents installation and the integrated to captivate is ALMOST PERFECT!  However, the current time/total time box downstairs would make no sense to users that it is a multimedia CD.  I wish that hide.  Also, the search button requires clicking to open the search text box.  I got some comments saying that they did not see where to type their search text (they didn't know they had to click search, so I hope to be able to change the text on this button "Click to search" or something like that.)  If we can hide the time/total current box, it would be preferable, because it seems to me, and others like this would be where you would type your search text (as it is next to the search button).

    In addition, if possible, remove icon star bookmark at the top completely, because they are not really needed and I want that interface for the users to be as simple as possible.

    I have ideas, or other means to implement a search tool.

    So you can see what I'm talking about, I've included a screenshot of my current interface.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.  I actually ended up using Widget factory to write my

    Widget to do the work to hide the time Board TOC.

    Here's the code I used:

    var movieController:Object = widgetSlide.m_movie;

    movieController.getTOCContainerMC (). TOCBox_mc. TOCFooter_mc. TOCFooter_Text.vi

    possible = false;

    movieController.getTOCContainerMC (). TOCBox_mc. TOCFooter_mc.timeBack_mc.visib

    = false;

    Thanks again for the help.

  • Page numbering and the Table of contents

    I have a book containing 23 document files. Document files contain the page numbers in the footer.

    One of the document file is a generated table of contents (TOC). Unfortunately, the generated page

    the number in the table of contents do not match the numbering of the pages in the files. Here are the details:

    • The title page, in a file by itself, is not numbered
    • The frontmatter, distributed in five cases use lowercase Roman (i - xvi)
    • The body of the text in the remaining 17 files is digital (1-243)
    • The generated TOC uses cardinal numbers of the book as a whole. For example,.
      Chapter I is numbered correctly in the footer from page 1. However, he is listed in the table of contents
      as starting on page 19, because this is the file real 19th in the book. I put the document numbering
      This file from 1 properties and properties of Page numbering for the book as a whole to
      be "continue."
    • The style of the table of contents entries is correct. In other words, the frontmatter uses a tiny Roman and the
      chapters use Numeric

    I tried to regenerate the table of contents, but this did not help.

    Does anyone have suggestions on what is the way prescribed to do?

    OK, I continued to read and this is what I found:

    Set the numbering style in the document, and not in the book that we told you. Format > Document > numbering. Choose Arabic or digital. Repeat for the various chapters.

    Save and close the chapters. In the book file, click with the right button on each chapter and choose Configure XXX. This is where tell you the book to continue the page numbering or restart at the 1.

    Once this is done, update your address. From there, if there are issues, we rely on the logic of the Fm we use every day, and each of us can help you solve.

  • Are there patches IE11 and Chrome for RoboHelp for Word 10? Table of contents, Index, and search do not work as expected in WebHelp...

    Question:

    Fixes IE11 and Chrome on the Adobe web site ask you to put their new files in RoboHTML templates_stock folder. However, I need these fixes for RoboHelp for Word. Is there a such difficulty?

    Background:

    I use 10 RoboHelp for Word, generating WebHelp.

    I try to solve the problems about the table of contents, Index, and search appears not not or not being not completely functional IE11 or Chrome, not including many of our customers use. I found a couple of workarounds that my boss doesn't like.

    • In IE11, if the end user adds the web site to the compatibility view list, they all appear and function correctly, but my boss is adamant about not wanting the end user having to do anything to solve the problem.
    • In Chrome, I can get a table of contents and a non-functional search to appear if the user turns off JavaScript for the site, but this solution also violates the lists see also in help. Again, made my boss wants to not that the end user to have to do.

    His solution is just to generate using pure HTML, but then the search won't work in IE11 or Chrome (I'm not sure about Firefox). I are based largely on the research, when I'm working on the product, so I really don't want to lose the search function.

    Help, please.

    Kind regards

    Jenn

    As I said in my reply to your message in the RoboHelp for Word forum, there is no patch for this.

    I can understand your not wanting to Manager end users will do anything and agree with him. However, the fixes for these issues in HTML HR are simply not available in RoboHelp for Word.

  • Table of contents and indexes appears in live Webhelp

    I work in a HR 10 draft updated from RH 9 project. During the generation of Webhelp, local output displays fine, but once compiled and download our online application, the table of contents and Index are not displayed - what I mean is that the tabs exist, you can click on them, but they are empty. Research works, as well as the header logo does not appear, although it is in the images folder that is downloaded.

    More details:

    • I view the project in an external file in the root folder of the project. To clarify, the project is in a folder named "Help", and the output is in a separate folder named '9.1 help' to the same level of the help file. When I provided the output, I only provide the folder «9.1 help» Could it be the cause of the problem?
    • After reviewing similar issues, I find that the HCC project file does not exist in my .hhk file, nor the .glo, exit, etc. I suspect that this could be the problem. However, insofar as I understand it, it is not possible for the final .htm file for the project in the same folder that contains these output files. You must publish in a different output outside the root path folder.
    • I tried to change the default table of contents and the Index under Webhelp settings > Categories > content of default in the table of contents specific to my project (this is the only table of contents and Index, so it shouldn't cause mistaked, but I don't know if this change means something).

    I would be happy to provide any other details if necessary.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Just a parenthesis. The mark of the Web option will only apply when view you the contents of your local hard disk and that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer as browser. If you download this content to a server, the option may as well not exist. So it won't matter if it is enabled or not and would have no impact on this situation.

    Change the option of DHTML shouldn't really affect it either.

    @Colum - package_xx.html files are certainly part of the production of RoboHelp. After you generate WebHelp, you should see them in the whxdata folder.

    I think we've established that files display fine immediately after generating it, no? So, which suggests that the issue is entirely in the hands of perforce and that the development team. (or, more accurately, NOT to do)

    See you soon... Rick

  • Table of contents, Index and changes in formatting disappears in RoboHelp...

    Hi guys,.

    Recently, I learned how to link and synchronize with RoboHelp Word documents. However, I am having a few problems when I updated the project RoboHelp change Word document after I right click on the file > update inside the pod project manager.

    The current challenges, I am experiencing the following:

    1. The clue that I have configured with the selected words of subject pages becomes empty after I updated the Word document in Robohelp.
    2. The table of contents becomes white after I updated the Word document in RoboHelp.
    3. I had to remove the excess on some Pages in the topic space because it looked funny when the previewed image. When I updated the Word document in Robohelp, returned the excess space that I removed...
    4. Another weird issue is that, sometimes, the changes I make in RoboHelp overrides any Word document. For example, if I have added text to a particular topic within the Word document and save it, Robohelp will not update the contents of the pages of the section with the Word changes even after I've updated the file inside RoboHelp...

    I'm not entirely sure how to work around these problems or if I'm doing something wrong. I really want to use the capabilities of RoboHelp synchronization, as it is more efficient for single source reasons.

    Advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    1. You do not use the project for related Word documents index. You insert a placeholder for a separate index. See the pages on the links on my site.
    2. I guess that now you do not have OCD, other than that of the linked document.
    3. It's probably because the excess space comes from the Word document. You will need to fix here.
    4. To get a change in RoboHelp and a different change in Word, when you update the RoboHelp change sticks and the word it is not applied? Which can only happen if you protect your changes. Again, see my site.
