Shadows of text of a central light source

G ' Day, im using elements 6 to put text over a picture. The photo is a typical sunset/Sunrise Beach shot. I divided the text into 3 text boxes that are: above the Sun (in the sky), directly above the horizon Sun and under the Sun (water and sand).

Im trying to achieve exact drop shadow and bevel direction regarding the Sun (shade of sky above the text layer text), no shadow on the horizon and the shadow under the text in the layer of water or sand to give the appearance of the light source being at the Center, where the Sun is. My problem is that I can't adjust the direction of the light source in each text box individually. Each text box is obviously his own layer, but if I set one of the directions of light source on a single layer, it forces the other layers 2 text into conformity with the same direction.

Can anyone help? Thank you

Hello

It's a global game lighting. Double click on the the f in the layers palette and uncheck the box that says "Global light. It is enabled by default. The dialog box resembles that of #10 of the elements tutorial step.

http://graphicreporter.com/tutorials/elements_shapeframe.html

This for each of the text layers that you do not want a global light is taken into account.

If this does not produce the desired results, you can do it manually.

Control, click on the thumbnail of the text in the layers palette to display the text selection (I think that order click on a Mac). Then, create a new empty layer under the text. Fill the selection with the color of the shadow that you want. Blurred using Gaussian to soften the shadows, then use the command free transform to deform the shade in place. Finally, reduce the opacity of the shadow layer to your liking.

Optional: change the blending mode of the shadow layer to multiply.

Optional: the shadow layers can also be moved with the displacement filter. (Prepare a file for use with the filter of deformation. How to: Make a copy of image without text. He Desaturate. Apply a bit of Gaussian blur to soften the image... which allows shadow bend as opposed to be decided by the filter of deformation. Save image with a unique name in PSD format on your desktop, so you can find it. (The image should be in PSD format or the filter cannot use it).  This file allows to deform your text. (I usually use a value of 3; 3.)

  • Title shadows Bright text on a dark Image?

If I put a shadow on the text in a title and place the title on an image that has reduced the opacity so that the image is darker, counterintuitivly shadow dropped becomes lighter in the output stream. If the text as a bright light behind him in the rendering. But on the editing front screen rendering, the shadow appears as one might expect, even darker than the blackened image.

So instead of being addiative to a dark image, the shadow is subtractive. I can't figure out how to stop this. Someone has an idea?

If you do not use made and playback with hardware acceleration, then you like have set of maximum quality. This can be enabled in the settings of sequence, which does not affect that rendered previews and in the export settings window, which affects exports.

In short, to make maximum quality forces made in 32-bit linear color. which can lead to the effect you see. Unfortunately, the MRQ's advantages as the best of downscaling and deinterlacing that can not be together regardless of color linear treatment - it's all or nothing.

  • Find the color temperature of light source with neutral card

    Hi all;

I have an adjustable color LED strip that I would get as close as possible to 6700 Kelvin. I hope that I can take pictures of a neutral light card and set the LED color based on temperature/RGB values, I get Lightroom (5.7.1).  Is this possible? If anyone can help with the workflow on how to do it?

    Thank you very much

I was afraid of that. The numbers only make sense for a radiator of black body like a tungsten light bulb or the Sun, which is a broadband light source. CFLs are generally pretty well made using a series of Phosphors of rare earths that are tuned to human vision and with emissions enough broadband. If you use several sources of monochromatic light as single color LEDs you could not get good numbers. It really depends on the wavelengths of light coming out of the LED. If the color on your camera filters are not the same wavelength of the LED and the sensitivity of three colors of the sensor of the camera is not the same as your eyes, you can get to a situation where your eye perceives neutral colors while the camera sees something completely not neutral. This is from your two raw files. Your illuminated LED Gray card probably looked to the eye, but to the camera, it looked purple. This effect is called Metameric failure and is common if the spectrum of light is very "spicy". This is probably what is happening in your case. You have certainly three narrow band LEDs that you mix. You are really unable to apply the model of the black body of "color temperature" unique to it and then you get strange results you observe. There are index to record high in special colours of the LEDs, which have much wider spectrum light show who have far fewer problems with Metameric failure and that should work for this purpose well.

  • The layer mode to make text on it the light on dark areas and vice versa?

    Hello

    PShop CS6 extended.

I want to make a watermark for photos and have the text weak and contrasting with background while for the length of the text I have, as she travels through darkest areas that he's lighter and when in the lighter areas, it goes darker.

Thus, the line of text could go dark light then light and then dark...

I will also then apply a bit of relief effect to it.

I can't find an option to layer to give to this 'contrast' effect of the dark.

    Merlin3

Typer in white and set its blending mode to difference. When you use the move tool to move the text layer it adapts automatically to the background color

  • Flatten the issue of transparency with shadows & white text

    Hi all

I have difficulties, flattening of transparency of the white text with a shadow in Illustrator CS6 for a project on paper. I am relatively new to this so forgive me if this is a kinda a noob question! The object I'm working with is a file of the PDF logo that I opened in Illustrator, then changed the color of text and then pasted in my working paper. What I want to achieve (the object not flattened) is the picture below on the left, and the flattened result is to the right of it. The flatten transparency settings that I used are in the picture below: these are the settings I use for all the work I've found that they tend to produce minimal injection lines (if any) during flattening.

I tried to find information on how to solve this problem, but I seem to have come short. Any help would be a HUGE help!

  • With the help of inner shadow on text on a background color

Hi all.  I am a novice and I'm stumped.  I want to use the internal shadow on the text.  I want to put the text on a rectangle that contains a color.  But when I do, the effect of inner shadow is denied. (See attached photo).  I realize that this has something to do with the transparency that I do not completely understand.  Is there a way to get around this?  I tried all methods of fusion.  Thank you!Screen Shot 2016-01-19 at 11.35.59 AM.png

I'm not sure of what the other parameters to check: when I followed your precise settings and colors, I don't see the problem when the text is printed to overlap, but everything seems fine when it is set to normal.

The only time wherever I see what you see with the Normal setting is if I put the text to the brightness.

Top to bottom: Overlay, Normal, brightness.

Maybe your document has got corrupted or have your program preferences. First try, setting up a document of charges and see if it works correctly there.

If it does try reseting you preferences.

I would like to create a shadow effect for my text in my headers.  Is there a function for this?

In the current version of Muse you can only apply effects to pixelated fonts (fonts). If you need a shadow to the other fonts effect, you can do the following:

    1. create a paragraph style, name it as you need (for example shadow_paragraph) and assign to the text element you need to be affixed.

  • shadow making text blocks

    Hello indesigners.

I apply a shadow to a text block, and its getting applied to the other blocks of text on the spread, and also I see a slight color change to my images as well.

    What is going on?

    Thank you.

Shadows are transparency effects, so the preview redraws the spread showing the flattening of transparency. There is a well-known effect "scar" for the text on the screen when transparency is used, and it can show on the screen in your PDF and low-resolution prints, too, but is generally not a problem with the press release. Shift of color images probably means that your space of merger of transparency is out of sync with the images.

  • Problems, see strobe light source in AE comps

I am building a science fiction movie and I've filmed in DV NTSC with a strobe light. The movie is great, but as soon as I get it in any AE project, he rereads without strobe light. The light seems to have completely disappeared (as if the light frames were ignored and replaced by the dark), and I can't understand how to get it back. Anyone got any ideas how I can?

It's really frustrating because the same images worked well in the same program on a previous (most primitive) computer upgrade to OSX snow leopard.

I am currently using CS4 on an imac running the mavericks of OSX.

This looks like a question related to the field.  If the flash of the strobe was very quick, he can actually only be captured fields (rather than frames) of your images.

If After Effects has interpreted your images as being interlaced (presumably lower field first for NTSC DV) then you will never see a single field of each image during previews.  When you return the product as interlaced, you see all the fields again in your render files.

A quick way to test: in the project window, select one of the clips of delinquency and temporarily disable the interpretation of field.  Then RAM Preview this video in full resolution at 100% of the size of its place in the timeline.  You now see the strobing?
