Sharing a VM between players

Hello

I don't know if this is discussed in this forum, but I have a virtual machine in my memory stick, I would start the VM (without adaptation) of the player vm 3.1

installed in two portable computers dfferent. I get the error message that says: "permission denied" when I try to start the virtual machine to a different machine than

where it is created. Is there a way to boot the virtual machine from another machine than it is created, without copying?

Thank you

PEI

In all likelihood this has nothing to do with VMware Player.   Permission denied error messages are a matter of user access controlled by the operating system.  Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions to read and write to the files that make up the virtual machine as well as the structure of hierarchical folders in which they reside.

I'll Finder, select the name of the other computer under 'sharing', then ' connect under... ". ", and then enter the name and password of the other computer. On a computer, I am told that it is connected with each other. However, the second computer always shows "the connection failed". I tried the 'Registered user' choice of "Guest" and "using Apple ID", but none will establish the connection. There must be something obvious that I'm missing, but I wasn't able to find out. I also tried to see if they would communicate with Bluetooth. Bluetooth screens on each computer show the the other is detectable by the proper name, but is never establish a connection.

    Connect to the same network.

    Enable sharing of files on both machines.

    Select the items to share on each machine and check the box in the dialog box information.

  • Sharing the drive between several virtual machines

    Hi all

    We have a configuration with a SAN (Dell Compellent) and use vSphere 6 to host a number of Windows servers. We now have a giant machine of Windows with a large number of small files for a particular application.

    Now, we would like to create a cluster with a LoadBalancer in front of him, so that we can handle more load. To do this, we want to create a disk that is shared between 2 (or more) of windows machines.

    One of the problems is that NTFS is not a supported clustered file system. So, I did a lot of research on Google to see what my options are. In my opinion, they are the following:

    1. set up a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) Microsoft (use SMB if I read the documentation)

    2. the user Windows shares on a separate file server

    3. the user NFS (depreacted under Windows)

    4. switch to Linux and use NFS

    The problem I have, is that they use all the network traffic. For example, option 2 is ridiculous slow. NFS under Linux is also a way slower than the local drive (managed by VMWare iSCSI) disk access and NFS on windows does not appear to be

    support very well.

    I know that there are aware filesystems, clustered as VMFS etc. Is there a way to access it directly from my Windows VM or are there devices SAN which is directly accessible from the virtual Windows machine?

    Or maybe there are other solutions to set up a shared drive?

    I know that there are aware filesystems, clustered as VMFS etc. Is there a way to access it directly from my Windows VM or are there devices SAN which is directly accessible from the virtual Windows machine?

    VMFS is a really clustered file system and allow access of multiple virtual machine the same amount of storage (data store) which is different from that to create a virtual disk (hard) and present to multiple virtual machines. You can do this, BUT the guest virtual machine should take care of several accesses to the hard, for Windows, you must turn on the feature... without this clustering with failover data may be corrupted.

    I think the best and supported solution for you is to create another cluster with Failover Cluster functionality and create a resource sharing files with files that will access your NLB nodes.

  • Sharing a VM between users on the same Mac

    I'm trying to share the VM between users on my Mac.  I followed KB1005196 instructions to change the permissions of the beam and move to the shared folder.

    The machine works well on the main account, but the other user account get the following error:

    Could not open the file "/ users/shared/Virtual Machines.localized / Windows XP Proessional 2.vmwarevm/Windows XP Professional 2.vmdk ': insufficient permission to access file.

    I am running OS 10.6.5

    VMWARE 3.1.2 (332101)

    Thank you

    Hmmm, okay let's try to change the permissions once. This time, we will also change the permissions on the entire virtual computers folder.

    Simply copy and paste each order one directly into the Terminal. Please make sure that you do this under the account mattebury on your computer.

    chmod 777 users/shared/Virtual\ Machines.localized
    chmod-r 777 users/shared/Virtual\ Machines.localized

    If you type this in manually and not copy and paste, please make sure that the R - is a capital R, not a lower case a.

    This will change the permissions on everything in and including the virtual computers folder.

    Try now.

    No problems.

    The only requirement is that the model storage is shared between the ESX (or at least ESX on which you will deploy your model).

    Then you will need to disable "Microsoft File and Printer sharing" or you need to set restrictions with the GPO. As long as the systems have their default values the value of a Microsoft network allows to use actions.

    Using 11 GR 1 material, is it possible to share a tablespace readonly among multiple instances? The typical use for this would be for archival, historical/static data that must be shared between non-production environments (Dev, UAT, QA, etc.).

    I guess you don't refer to a RAC - of course, tablespaces are shared between Instances of a CARS - but in different databases . Well, it is indeed possible. I just tested to confirm my first thought on this. You can see an example here:

    I have two Windows XP computers: one with Windows XP Home Edition SP3 and the other with Windows XP Professional SP3. I want to share files between them, but the one with Pro is too far from the router. I have only one ethernet cable to reach between the two. Is there a way to relate to each other with the cable and to share files between them.

    I really want to drill holes in the ground, and the computer is in my garage, not in the House, so it's too far. And the WiFi signal reached until now. Is there anything else I can try? I don't want to buy a flash drive since I never use them.

    You dismissed almost all the options.

    Given preferences, but assuming your House and garage to receive electric service through the same electric meter (in other words, you don't have two separate service accounts), then the most likely solution for you is "network".

    Basically, powerline network using adapters that transmit packets lines of power supply to your home network.  You plug an adapter into the wall power outlet at each location and then run an Ethernet cable from the adapter to the computer.

    Some adapters have opportunities for wifi, but also an Ethernet connection.  Some cards have only one Ethernet port, while others may have multiple ports.

    There are several standards, my understanding is that currently, the most common standard for network home powerline HomePlug AV (sometimes called AV1).

  • sharing of database between two programs

    Hello

    I have the need to save the data to an application (I use a SQL database) and access the data of another application.
    Following a few examples, I have the following code to create the database.

    This is the code of the application that CREATES the database.
    void ApplicationUI::createDatabase() {}
    Basis of data QSqlDatabase = QSqlDatabase::addDatabase ("QSQLITE", "Database");
    Boolean success = false;
    database.setDatabaseName("./data/Database.db");

    If (database.open ()) {}
    success = true;
    } else {}
    const QSqlError error = database.lastError ();
    }

    Database.Close ();
    }

    That's what I do for create table.
    Sub ApplicationUI::createTable()
    {
    Basis of data QSqlDatabase = QSqlDatabase::database ("Database");
    ("SqlDataAccess * sqlda = new SqlDataAccess("./data/Database.db ");
    SQLDA-> run ("DROP TABLE IF EXISTS people");
    {if (!) SQLDA-> HasError())}
    } else {}
    const DataAccessError error is sqlda-> error();.
    }

    const QString createSQL = "CREATE TABLE people ().
    «name VARCHAR»
    «email VARCHAR»
    'e - mail1 VARCHAR'
    «email2 VARCHAR»
    ");";
    SQLDA-> execute (createSQL);
    {if (!) SQLDA-> HasError())}
    } else {}
    const DataAccessError error is sqlda-> error();.
    }
    }

    The first program also fills the table

    Here is the code of the OTHER application that reads the database.
    void ApplicationUI::getDATA() {}

    int recordsRead = 0;
    ("SqlDataAccess * sqlda = new SqlDataAccess("./data/Database.db ");
    const QString sqlQuery = "SELECT email, email1, email2 FROM people;"
    QVariant result = sqlda-> execute (sqlQuery);
    {If (! sqlda-> {hasError())}

    If (! result.isNull ()) {}

    List of QVariantList = result.value();
    recordsRead = list.size ();
    for (int i = 0; i)< recordsread;="" i++)="">
    Map: QVariantMap = list.at (i) .value();
    name = map ["name"] m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString ();
    email = map ["email"] m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString ();
    e-mail1 = map ["email1"] m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString ();
    Email2 = map ["email2"] m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString ();

    }
    }

    }
    const DataAccessError error is sqlda-> error();.
    QString theerror = error.errorMessage ();
    }

    The error I get, is that there is no table named "persons". Is it because the two programs are in different folders? If so, where could / should I put the database for both programs can access freely?

    Thanks for your help and your clarification.

    No, a shared folder for normal users and the users of the workspace is different, but you can access it with this line:
    QString sharedPath = QDir::currentPath() + ' shared ';

  • shared object synchronized between threads/listeners

    I don't know if I go about it the correct way.  I'm hoping that someone could help with this situation. Here is basically what I want to do:

    Have a FIFO queue object that contains the data to send to a web application that can be accessed synchronously between threads/listeners.  Given that the coverage of the data can sometimes be slow or even non-existent, I need to wait for the cover, maybe using CoverageStatusListener that runs on a wire and will suspend/resume the thread on state change.  All this must happen without the need of Auditors threads to wait.

    For example:

    data coverage is non-existent

    ListenerA needs to send data, it places in the queue

    data coverage is restored.  Data queue

    ThreadB needs to send the data until the transmission is completed. We need the data in queue

    transmission of complete, passed down from queue data is removed from the queue

    During all this time, I need ThreadB data exist also in the queue object and not be lost when the data is complete and is removed from the queue.  I need ThreadB to continue treatment and do not wait until the transmission is completed.  I played a bit with display of threads that are cycled every five minutes or so if they could not pass successfully, but that logic is not feasible.  Say you are out of the coverage of the data for an hour or two, but you end up needing to pass 50 items.  You have 50 son sitting there waiting to pass.  Or a listener for each point that everyone is trying to send at the same time.  What happens if the device dies or is reset?  I looked at RuntimeStore, but that does not record the data and I don't know what happens when 2 wires need to add data to the queue at the same time.  PersistentStore will not be able to hold the data if/when it becomes too large.

    Here it is the pseudo-code.  I know that some things will probably not work.  Just trying to get down the basic logic.

    public class TestFoo extends Application {
      public static void main(String[] args) {

    I think that there are a number of; habits that will help you design it - the producer/consumer and observer patterns come to mind.  I'm not a design guru so will not pretend even to help you work through this.  But all I can say is that models provide generally well thought out structures for the problems that.  I encourage you to read about them.  You might find these useful references:

    http://www.javacamp.org/designPattern/

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/3023

    In general I'm not comfortable with your overall solution.  I would look at something like that

    (a) offer a 'service' to your users that collects the data to send.  There is no need to be a wire, it is just a method that they call and pass in the data.  These data are persisted.  This method 'Add' is owned by the transmission process and is the only visible part of the outside of the treatment.  This treatment should also begin sending wire (see b) if it is not executed.

    (b) have a thread that attempts to send the data.  You can launch this thread on changes in coverage if you want, but make sure that you can have a single run.  This thread should check coverage before attempting to send anything, and just end if there is no point of trying.

    (c) your submission Thread will get in situations where she send and does not receive a response from there is another error.  In this case I recommend the blocking of the Thread for a time and then try to send again.

    (d), I said in (a) that the add-in has been the only visible part of the outside of this treatment.  However you're better instrument your process so that users can find out if your thread is running, how much he sent, if the last transmission worked or not of data and so on.

    Treatment based on a vector of data to send.  Synchronize on this vector before changing.  In the "add step (a), add an element to the vector."  In processing step (b) delete the first item when you have treated.

    There is a problem with this design in that there may be overlap if the sending thread terminate because it has nothing to do and add treatment add something and does not start the Thread because it is actually running.  You must code carefully around that.

    I hope this helps.

    With the desired files PC running Windows XP
    PC to recover files is running Windows 7
    The XP PC is connected through a Linksys router wireless
    The W7 PC is connected to the same router via Ethernet cable

    Simple, do the same for the two working groups. Windows key + break under computer. Kill the password sharing in windows 7. Right of the mouse on the LAN in Win7 network open / change advances. Select turn off password sharing. Make sure discovery tour of the network and file sharing are on.

    Create a folder in XP share it. Simple file tick share if its judgment (my computer / tools / folder options / view). . Create a folder in Win 7 right of the mouse / properties / sharing / share. Select everyone up to the top, change the background of read/write. You will save mucking around with passwords, or by entering the ips in to get into the other folder. To facilitate things if you want to copy the installation files to etc. Go to start/run in win7, type shell: sendto, right of the mouse / new shortcut. Go to the network folder add it. It will appear under the send on the shortcut menu. Do the same with XP, except type sendto under start/run. And do the same thing

    Hello everyone:

But, is it possible to configure a profile to move "members Shared" rather than "Main members"?. I have a main fixed hierarchy and another where 'Shared members' change its parent on a regular basis.

    How can I achieve this?

    Thank you

    Concerning

    Hello

    "Merge as Move" option will run only members who to true "IsPrimary.

    For your case, define the members of the hierarchy, replacing "IsPrimary' property as" true "and the main hierarchy as 'False'.» So for all parents to change on a regular basis for the hierarchy of the other, so that replacing the members of the hierarchy will be executed and moved to parent specified in the load file.

    I hope this helps.

    Well, I can't tell you much about the user experience expected without knowing the network load. However, if install you the file server as an another VM on the same host, you will have at least a 1GBit/s connection between the virtual machines.
