I'll say no.

It is the first LED cinema Display, if NOT a retina display.

The screen, itself, will not be a 'net '.

A more powerful GPU/chip will give you more VRAM to push pixels faster and perhaps give you some additional screen resolutions, but that does not translate to a clearer and sharper display.

It's technology in the screen that determines that.

If you are not satisfied with your Mac screen longer, you will need to find a "most recent" view, not Apple that is using port mini display of Apple or find a higher resolution or a better display technology that uses your Mac Pro DVI connection.

Good luck!

    Hello

The Cinema Display isn't a Retina display, so it will not show HiDPI resolutions. But it will work fine with your new machine.

Get a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort connection is not easy what I can tell, but I spoke of circuits Assembly and they have a product that will ensure the necessary liaison (http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-Female-to-Displayport-Male-Adapter-Cable...), but cannot be sure it will work because they do not have Apple display on-site.

  • LED 24 "Cinema Display issues

    Hello

my old Apple Cinema Display Monitor broke and I think I used ('excellent condition') 24 "LED Cinema Display (white folder).  My questions are:

1 - is it compatible with my computer of MacPro5.1 Tower?  My computer has a DVI and 2-port MiniDisplay, but everywhere I've read so far he says that the LED 24 "is made for MacBooks and other laptops.

2 - How do people like the LED display for FCP editing.  It has a glossy finish.  My old screen has a matte finish.

    Thanks for your comments.

As you know DVI is a video standard, as well as the USB connection or any other connection, as long as your device (MacPro) and the monitor (screen cinema) has the same DVI ports, they work perfectly, in fact you can even connect your Cinema Display to a Windows PC since DVI is a standard.

  • Graphics card for Apple Cinema Display on windows 27 "

    Hi Forum Hardware,

I just bought a new Apple 27 '' LED Cinema Display to my Windows computer. In South Africa, there seems to be no available adapters and the opinion I have of the internet seems to be that the evolution of my graphics card to one that has a 'mini display port' for the monitor is a better option than to an adapter.

You kindly me has helped build my windows computer a year ago and my understanding at the time was that the configuration must be balanced. Could you help me to choose a graphic card with a "mini display port" that complement my setup (or improve) and at the same time would have the necessary Mini display for the Apple monitor port. There are a few confusing information on the internet, which implies that the Apple 27 "monitor connection option, which I think might be true in the past, but the latter being only a mini display port.

, I use my computer mainly for video in Premiere Elements editing as well as stills edit in Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4. At some point, I can move to Premiere Pro.

I used a card nVidia GTX 560Ti with a Dell US2711 graphics 27 "monitor. I repeated the screen problems crashing and recovery. Error message read something like "nVidia has detected a problem and needs to close." Above all, he didn't plant the software, just the screen. I just got the graphics card drivers updated with a clean install and we hope that it can fix the problem that I intend to transfer the GTX 560Ti graphics card in another computer, but I feel worried for the next purchase of the graphics card. Is there any advantage to keep the 560Ti in my computer graphics card, but also the new graphics card with the mini display port? I remember that there is also integrated in my configuration graphics. I was wondering if the two graphics cards could have compatibility problems.

I read that these very high resolution screens, 2560 x 1440 pixels, gave some people problems slow down their computers. It would be a graphics card problem? I would rather err on the side of more power than less energy I spend a lot of time to video editing. Very frustrating if the computer is slow or crashes.

    My Windows computer:

    CPU: Sandy Bridge i7 - 2600K

    Motherboard: GA-Z68XP-UD4

    RAM: 4 x 4 GB DDR3 - 1600

    PSU: Corsair Pro Gold AX850

CPU cooler: Cooler Master H212 EVO

    Windows 7

The supplier declares that he has the following graphics cards which have ports mini display. I asked on nVidia cards, he said he didn't have any in stock. If none of the three below works well, it would be easier for me, but if you have any other suggestions that would be better, I'd rather hunt further for the cards. I live in the country but may order of the city. Or a map of lower end with mini display port, as well as my old card GTX 560Ti would be better?

    In stock at the supplier:

MSI Twinfrozr OC 3 GB Ram R7950

ATI Radeon MSI OC 2 GB Ram R7870

    Radion HD 7850

I would appreciate your help again.

    Kind regards

    Linda Collison

    Linda,

With your i7 - 2600K, 16 GB of memory and I hope a good Setup, I suggest you:

    • GTX 660 it if you overclock the system to about 4.2 GHz and have at least 4 drives
    • GTX 660 if you overclock a little
    • GTX 650 it boost if you have disks of 3 or less and use the savings for an extra drive
    • GTX 650 it so you do not overclock and have records of 3 or less AND you usually export to the same dimensions as your source material, so there is no scaling.

If regularly you export to other dimensions of the image, i.e. 1920 x 1080 to DVD and scaling is still present, then go for the next best card, for example instead of a big boost GTX 650 it, look at the GTX 660.

As Alex said, it makes no sense to spend too much on a single component, when it is supported by other components. That's why these fucking directions.

I thought a lot about this kind of questions, since they pop up so much and I collect my thoughts on this for some sort of decision table, which allows people to choose the base system they use, the nature of their raw material, the kind of editing they do and exports they need. The problem, however, is to make all of these interdependent factors appear in a simulation of what if that makes sense to people. Don't forget, we're not Professor Eppes in Numb3rs, so (auto-regressive integrated moving average) ARIMA modeling with Cholesky decomposition is not feasible.

  • How to connect 12 '' MacBook (2015) to a 24 "or 27" Apple Cinema Display AND fresh!

I made this post on my site here: https://underground.net/how-to-connect-an-apple-display-to-a-usb-c-macbook/ (which I will update regularly)

This installation took me a LONG time to understand, but it works very well, no wake mode 'sleep', etc.

To connect the new MacBook to a 24″ Cinema Display or Apple 27″ LED Display Monitor (who both have a record which is the same as the Thunderbolt connector, but are not actually screens Thunderbolt) you can opt for a really cheap option, as the following point 3.1 AllSmartLife USB Type C adapter Mini DisplayPort Amazon for $ 20 :

That works very well, but you cannot load your computer when you are connected to the screen, nor can you plug something else on your computer as an external hard drive, etc.

To be able to recharge your computer AND connect to the screen AND connect other devices to your MacBook, you need the following configuration, and it works great, btw.

    1 first download this USB-C for USB multi-port, Belinda® USB-C for 3 ports USB 3.0 , which is about $ 36 on Amazon.

2 then, you need an expensive element, StarTech.com USB 3.0 to DisplayPort 2560 x 1600 video card Multi monitor external adapter (USB32DPPRO), which is around $74 on Amazon:

3 Finally you need a cheap item, the Cable questions DisplayPort / Mini DisplayPort male to female adapter at $ 9 on Amazon:

Plug all the in such things and he ends up you look pretty clean where it connects to the computer, as you can see below and you can plug in the USB port of the screen on the hub and use the speakers on the screen, AND you still an available for a hard drive, external USB 3.0 port.

It will cost you around $119! Wow, that's a LOT, but it works. Or you can go cheap and just get the first card for $20 but charge your MacBook by disconnecting from time to time to plug in the charger. What a PAIN in the * Apple.

The new MacBooks coming will be equipped with a combined USB/Thunderbolt-c plug that should * hope * connect a screen and charge at the same time cheaper, but who knows?

If you want me to your post something, I can put it on the MacBook 2015 using forum boards.

  • Former Cinema Display, newish MacBook Pro work?

I have an old Apple Cinema Display Monitor (2003) which includes a cord where it receives power, USB and DVI video. He has been connected to a G4 tower forever. Now, I have a MacBook Pro newish (2013) which was love at first sight. I can hang it up the screen? This adapter they do? What is it? I thought it would be just a shot of lightning/DVI, but it's not. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Lightning/DVI should operate. DVI should be the same for any enabled DVI monitor made in the last 15 years, simply check the adapter type, there were several arrangements of unique PIN to DVI connectors over the years.

  • Dual Cinema Display get dim

After installing 10.11.5 one of my two Cinema Display 30 '' continues to go dim.   I can force them to get more light but it always just continues to go to the side Sun its own.

As it has a mind of its own!

It's already happened, but I have no ideal how to solve this problem.

    Help!

    Hi Rubalcava Boan,

Thank you for using communities to Apple Support and for details on your screen. I understand that one of your displays will dim on its own and you want to avoid that from happening.

The first thing you want to do is check your set display using section below.

Connect multiple monitors to your Mac - Mac Help

If everything is configured correctly, the next step that I recommend is to try changing the cables or test with different cables to ensure that there aren't any problems with your cable. If you have any other Mac that you can test on who can also help determine if there is a hardware problem.

If you're still having problems after performing these steps, the next thing that you can try resets your MSC. Reset it will not erase your personal data, it resets just a few hardware settings the steps for this are easy.

Reset the SMC on Mac desktops

Follow these steps for iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro and Xserve.

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Unplug the power cord.
    3. Wait 15 seconds.
    4. Reconnect the power cord.
    5. Wait 5 seconds, then press the power button to turn on the Mac.

Alternatively, you can take a glance at this article for a list full of what the covers of SMC reset.

    I hope this helps.

    See you soon!
