Short battery life of the Macbook Pro 13 "mid-2009

My Macbook Pro battery does not seem able to last longer then an hour on a full charge. Initially, I set this up to the age and checked the battery status (ALT + click on the battery in the top bar icon), however it says normal. I have always looked after my Mac - full load battery and let it run down completely before recharging - so I don't know if it's just an age thing or another issue.

In addition, I had a problem for a long period of overheating, even when I use Safari. Using an application that I can see that it reaches 90 degrees celsius, it is worse. If I have a problem with my fan which is itself an overheating of my Mac and drain the battery?

I tried to use Apple Hardware Test (now D then it starts) but have had no chance to lift anything but the normal login screen.

Seven years on a LiPo battery? If this is the original, you can thank his long and reliable service so far and to prepare for a replacement. Whatever his 'normal' State

  • Updated the MacBook pro 13 mid-2014 SSD?

I have a macbook pro 13 mid-2014. Apple would upgrade my 128 GB to 512 GB SSD? If Yes, for how long?

There are aftermarket solutions such as http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/macbook-pro-retina-display-faq macbook-pro-retina-display-13-how-to-up...

I don't think that Apple upgrades an SSD, once the computer has been purchased and is beyond the date of return of 2 weeks.

Note: I do not know how to do it yourself can affect your warranty. I see some posts where people say that to replace your original drive if you need to take Apple computer for other services.  For some things that apple might consider a guarantee like no or even flat our refuses to do something with a computer, even if beyond warranty if they have an indication any anyone, but Apple did something inside a computer, but nor will they upgrade a SSD - it is intended (unrealistic) buy you a SSD which will be to always meet your needs.

  • battery drains while the macbook pro is in sleep

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch, retina.  About 6 months.

Problem: Battery drains about 4%-5% per hour or more, while the computer is in sleep.  Which means that if I go to bed with the 30% battery charge, I'll wake up to a dead computer.

It started to happen about 2 weeks ago.  I already brought to an authorized, who ran the diagnostics.  Initially he failed cooling system test, but he re-greased the sink 'fan', and supposedly he passed all the tests.  But battery still absurdly quickly.

I tried to reset the SMC, by someone on the suggestion of this forum, but didn't seem to help.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Bring it for repair.  Your MBP has a warranty for which you paid the money.  Use the warranty.

    Ciao.

  • The battery life of the IPad Pro

I've had my IPad Pro nearly a month now, I am very disappointed with the battery life.  Can I get a battery completely charged at 10:00 and 15:00

She is drained down to 19%.  I only surf the web and play some games. I disabled all the elements that would drain the battery, even possibility dimmed the screen.

is this normal, it is far from the 10 hours, I also cam fill a small external change to the rear of the unit. What should I do? I had apple do a diagnostic check and they said there was no problem detected.

Hard to say... I had the iPad over the years and the Pro is the best yet.  I use mine extensively, mostly to surf the Internet and check news sites, not be interested in the games. I also use it for photo editing. A typical use days could be between 4 to 6 hours and when not in use, it is in standby.  I never feed power off.

I also have mine recharge every night, regardless of the status of the battery.  After a full days use, the status of the battery down from 100 percent to about 45 percent.  When the rear of the load box gets hot, when you use it, it's cool.

It was an Apple store or a retailer that took place the diagnostic practice?

I would say that your battery life isn't typical.

  • restore the firmware for macbook pro 13 mid 2009

Hi all! This is my first time using the support community so forgive me for any rudeness and English summary.

I recently bought a used mid 2009 macbook pro 13 "with no disc on this subject, I installed a new empty 120 GB ssd drive.

I asked a friend and he has downloaded and made me a usb bootable with osx on it (lion). I instaled the osx and got the macbook running successfully and it was perfect.

I decide to update and went up el capitan wich sucessfully installed. After the update I tried it out, web navigation simple, when suddenly, out of nowhere the mac stop (much battery left and the led indicator to confirm) and has not started since... when I turn it on the led light flashes and it gives the s.o.s. beep (3 short beeps followed by 3 long beeps and then 3 short beeps) the optical drive made his usual looking noises of boot and the fan continues to spinning, I tried to remove the battery 10 minutes several times and nothing... I read a lot about the problems of ram tested with one stick at a time in the two slots and no improvement... bought a new pair of hynix 2 gb 1066 mhz pc3-8500 ddr3 sticks as recommended for this model and replaced the "old"... did nothing.

I have no original discs just the macbook itself and the charger. Also tried to boot from the usb drive... not good... tried to start mode revovery... nothing that the black screen and a beep sounds.

I did some research and read a looooot online and in discussions such as this apple and found it to be the sound warning for bad/corrupted efi rom (as opposed to the majority of people declaring it to be a ram issue) which needs to be restored or flashed... However, apple does not provide or at least I can't find a picture of recovery for my model cd special I know it's the macbook 5.1 (a1278 / emc2254). Is there any solution for this? Please help in some way that you can welcome suggestions!

    Thank you

  • Thunderbolt port works is not on the MacBook Pro 15 "mid-2015 retina

First of all, my specs: mid-2015 MB Pro retina 15 "(11.5), i7 at 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB HD, Iris Intel & AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics"

A week ago, I noticed that the thunderbolt the closest port to the MagSafe port does not work, but the other port thunderbolt works as it should with all devices I'm trying. I already tried a SMC and PRAM reset without success and there is no update available software. I bought the new Apple computer in September, so I should be still under warranty. Any thoughts?

Hi, so im intend to replace my hard shore with an SSD. However, I also want to remove the optical drive and replace it with the hard drive, I have right now (if I can use it for more space).

  • gauge the battery to the boot screen and battery on report menu conflicting Details about the level of the battery. The gauge from the battery to the Starter incorrectly displays the low battery level that prevent the macbook pro battery retina start

gauge the battery to the boot screen and battery on report menu conflicting Details about the level of the battery. The gauge from the battery to the Starter incorrectly displays the low battery level that prevent the start of the battery. This happens on macbook pro retina 13 inches

When I try to startup macbook pro retina in battery mode, it will fail to start showing low battery level and an indicator to recharge the battery. It does not start on battery. When I then connect via the power cable at startup (and check the battery level), monitor of battery in the menu bar indicates that the battery is charged to the top.

It gets really frustrating and remove my ability to use the macbook pro retina as a truly portable device...

  • "Repair of battery" after 200 cicles (macbook Pro 2011)

Hi, I have a Macbook Pro from mid-2011 and after around 200 cicles, he says "service battery", but the battery works perfectly well, of course it takes only 2 hours or less because it is already 5 years (and we all know that it is a complete lie that the batteries takes 8 hours - I don't guess if you turn away and look at him without touching a single key).

In any case... I formatted the computer and reinstalled the OSX and the sign disappeared. But after a few days, it reappeared. I tried to restart the MSC, but nothing has changed.

I read on some pages, that after a few OSX update, many macbook Pro from this year had the same problem, so that you would to buy a new battery, even when there is nothing wrong with it.

    Any suggestions?

There is probably something wrong with it, otherwise the system would not report it. Two hours is remarkably short for a good work of this model battery. And besides: battery fault may start to swell and cause serious damage to your Macbook. I don't think not twice before replacing a battery of 5 years.

  • Suddenly keyboard does not not, always on fans and pressing alt restarts the macbook pro 13 inch mid 2012

So, I was on my macbook pro when I decided to close it out. Later, when I came back, I opened it and fans began to work hard, that I tried to enter my password, but the keyboard is not responding, so I plugged a keyboard external usb and I have finally started my session, but I noticed an X on my battery indicator and the message "no battery available.

any idea of what disease? Key on the keyboard is not responding, Alt will restart the mac, fans of strong, cold material work, when I plug the charger in light barely there

I tried disconecting the battery, reset the SMC and PRAM seems impossible due to the alt, restart problem

  • The Macbook Pro 13 "is good for making movies

    Hi all

I would like to know wheter or not the MacBook Pro 13 "is strong enoughfor film making, I want to use movie making applications and all... I aspire to edit videos short and simple I will upload later on social media. I saw the presentation of the MacBook Pro on the Apple site and I noticed that when talking about the film to do things, they only mention the 15 "... and I had a few doubght.

To say, I want to buy the MacBook Pro 13 "retina, i7, 16 GB, ssd 550 with a 256 GB of storage.

    Thank you for your help.

It depends on this kind of filmmaking. Model 15-inch more expensive is the only one with an independent graphics card and will be able to manage better than all other models rendering tasks. If your movie is CGI intensive, you can consider the 15-inch model. If your film is essentially practical, 13 inches could possibly do with simplest post-editing and CGI, but may take longer. If you make a great movie, you can also consider a larger storage capacity as videos tend to take place. View a comparison of the two products on the Apple website here.
