Should I remove CS4 after installing CS6?

I upgraded to CS6, yet my CS4 programs are still on my computer. Should I delete them manually? And if so, all my files created with CS4 will remain functional on my computer with the CS6 update?

When you upgrade you assign all previous installations... updates install / run independtly of applications that they are upgrading.   It is not necessary to remove the old version when you upgrade to the new versions, but it is best to uninstall them before installing the new version, if you want to uninstall.

As much as CS4 versions files versus the software improved, Yes, the old files should be able to be opened and edited by the CS6 version, although you will not be able to save the files as CS4 versions if there are changes that you want to keep.

  • Can I reinstall cs4 after installing cs6

I installed my new copy of the CS6 on my new iMac. Later, I realized that I need my original CS4 to run simultaneously on the same mac. When I try to install the original CS4 it rejects two serial numbers - the original CS4 series and the new CS6 serial number. Is it possible to do or should I uninstall CS6 and start over?

Uninstall CS6, run the Creative Suite cleanup tool, and then reinstall it in good condition - CS4 first, followed the CS6.

  • Remove the CS4 after installing CS5 - cloudy

Hi, I removed CS4 after working with CS5 for awhile. Now, all the .jpg, .cr2 etc are more related to the PS in Windows Explorer. I tried to add a link to them, but Photoshop is not in the list of possible programs and manually choosing PS by navigating to the folder of programs is not be accepted. Even in the bridge, doubleclicking a jpg now opens Powerpoint, something I really don't need :-)

Any ideas? I ran the installer from the CD again, but nothing helped.

Looks like that in the recesses Sun from my memory, others with similar problems should change something in the registry.  But only a search to find this thread.

You have tinkered with file associations?  In bridge, go to edit/preferences/file Healt.  Set the default CS5 for file types.

OS, go into Control Panel, default programs, associate files.

    I hope this helps.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 doesn't open after installing CS6

I recently installed CS6 (full version, not upgrade) on my computer to Windows 7 Home premium. I worked on a brand new website in Dreamweaver CS6. Now, I want to work on sites that I created with CS4. The sites are not in the list "manage sites" 6. I did some research and found out that I have to export in CS4 before I can open them in CS6. However, now it won't open CS4! I get the following message: the application failed to start properly 0xc015004. So now that I can not open Web sites, I already created for editing. Help!

Without CS4, you can easily configure your existing sites in CS6, you just FTP and other settings specific to the sites that make up the export of CS4 (none of the real site files are exported). All what you need to do is...

    1. in CS6, go to Site > new Site

    2. give the site a name

    3. for the Local Site folder: Navigate to the local root folder that already exists on your hard drive

    4. configure the FTP information servers

    5. save

It will take a second for the cache site in CS6, but once it's done, you good to go.

  • Impossible to edit images after installing CS6

I just installed CS6 on my macbook pro.  The installation was successful, and I am able to open files in CS6.

Lightroom 4 is also installed on this machine, and I noticed that lightroom updated the external program to CS6 (from CS5).  When I select an image and choose Edit in CS6 from within lightroom, CS6 launches, but the file never opens.  I have re-installed and can't seem to get and files to open the CS6.

Can anyone offer some advice here?  I'm really glad to get CS6 working with Lightroom.

    Thank you

It now seems to work after a reboot of the entire system.

Sorry, I thought that I was with who, having moved away from the windows.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro missing after installing CS6

Installed Acrobat Pro 9 (full version) on Win7 64 bit pc ago about a month everything was working well. Then I installed CS3 last week, everything works still fine. So yesterday I installed CS6 and now my pdf is opened with Acrobat reader. So I went to associate Pro 9 to open my pdf files and Pro 9 is missing.

I looked on the hard drive and done searches for the executable and the only thing I can find is this folder C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 9.0, but it does not contain an exe file. All I see in this directory is two files, a "Acrobat" with plug in folders and a javascript file and the other is a resources folder with files of police and the card inside.

So the question is re - install Pro 9 at this point?

    Thanks for your help.

AA 9 is automatically uninstalled with CS6, I recall. There may be an option to not uninstall, but most people rush through the Setup process and do read these details and which can happen for you. In any case, you probably need to reinstall AA 9.

  • Try to install the CS6 Web and Design Premium after installing CS6 Design Standard

We have a user who requested the installation of Photoshop CS6 extended, but she already had the Standard Adobe CS6 installed Design. We went ahead and uninstalled the Standard design version and installed the Web and Design Premium version, but when we were going to run Photoshop it's always the regular version and not a scope.  In addition, we have also downloaded the cleanup tool Adobe to remove completely all creative Cloud/CS6 version/Adobe ID credentials to try and make a facility 'clean' the Web and Design Premium, but even after this, Photoshop starts again as the regular version despite the installation of the Web and Design Premium package.

The computer is a Mac Pro and 10.7.5 (Lion).  Is there something we're missing?  Help or clarification on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    • Launch Photoshop
    • Go to help > deactivate
    • Choose the option remove permanently
    • Restart Photoshop and enter the serial number of the Design and Web Premium CS6

    hope this helps.

  • Uninstall CS4 after installed CC?

    Hello

I have CS4 Design Premium installed on my Windows7 PC.

Since then, I have subscribed to the creative cloud and downloaded some apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, DW).

I'm likely to have problems if I let the older CS4 applications on my PC, or should I uninstall them, and if so what is the best way to go about this?

Thanks for your help - Duncan

    Hi DMuri,

You can safely uninstall CS4 products for this, you can use Add and remove program on your windows entries to remove these products.

  • How can I install Acrobat CS4 after installing creative cloud subscription?

I am owner of Creative Suite 4 and Acrobat need from this 5 CD set. I was not able to install Acrobat just because I have a subscription to creative cloud that does not include an Acrobat. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Loydc1941,

Your subscription to creative cloud is independent of CS4 and should not interfere with the installation of the Acrobat 9 that came with you more. Run the Creative Suite Installer and installing it will give you a screen where you can choose which application you want to install.

If you have tried and it doesn't work, we will be able to best solve your problem if you can provide more details as suggested by Mylenium. What is your OS and what exactly happens when you try to install Acrobat CS4 discs? You receive an error message? Thanks for posting a screenshot if possible: the specified element could not be found...

  • Not possible to deactivate CS4 - after installing CS5.5

    Hello

Today I installed my new CS5.5 update on my Mac and now I wanted to disable and uninstall my old Suite CS4 - but it won't work.

And Yes, I've already checked my firewall - off - but no luck.

I tried to disable it in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash - same problem.

Can I now uninstall CS4 from my Mac without disabling?

Any idea what the problem might be?

    Thank you for any suspicion

If you follow the instructions to disable the software but is not working for some reason, then you should just contact support Adobe - they really are the only ones who can help and can manually disable the database on their end.

  • Remove 7 after installing 8

I just finished installing CF8 on vista running IIS7. Installation worked flawlessly and imported all my MX7 configuration settings.

Once everything worked, I decided to see if I could remove the mx7 8 has been fully installed and running. Fortunately it wasn't a production server. As soon as the mx7 uninstall program was completed, I went to check that my settings were always correct in the admin. Of course, the program uninstall deleted mx7 the cfide directory that served the cf8 now...

Is there a way to cleanly remove 7 without deleting the content used by cf8? I guess I could have renamed the directory cfide until the uninstall is completed, but is not what I consider a clean way to do it.

I found the solution in the Knowledge Base. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I... rename the cfide so uninstallation directory do not find and delete...

For future versions, it would be much cleaner if the cfide directory has been installed inside the cfroot (not the webroot), then a virtual directory created in the root Web.

I read the discussion on http://forums.adobe.com/message/5014352 and tried all three solutions.  I get an error code 3 instead of the value 0.  No idea what this means other that it didn't work.

    Hi ltodd7338,

The fix mentioned in the following article, works most of the time:

However, as it does not work for you, try please remove CS 6 via the cleanup tool and then reinstall the product.
