Should I RoboHelp Server to publish RoboHelp WebHelp/WebHelp Pro?

Hello

I've used RoboHelp to create online help for a web application, many years ago. As I remember, it was very easy. My developers told me where to download the files, and I told them this file to reference from the web application.

Now I'm in a different society and is about to start using RoboHelp to create an online help for a web application. I have RoboHelp, but I do not have RoboHelp Server. My developer is asking questions on the server and the license server. I don't remember ever having these concerns, the last time I've used RoboHelp, and now I'm confused.

I think I have not has no need of RoboHelp Server the first time is because I have generated WebHelp and not of WebHelp Pro. Is this fair? And so I would need only RoboHelp Server if I wanted to generate WebHelp Pro?

So if I have everything than the right, and if I want to just generate WebHelp, so what information should I provide my developer? I have not any information 'server and license server' to provide to him, right?

And on the other hand, if we decided that we wanted to WebHelp Pro, it have to buy RoboHelp $999 server, is that correct?

Your help is appreciated!

In order to clarify the comment by Rick. You only need the RoboHelp Server to publish WebHelp Pro and FlashHelp Pro.

Outputs 'Pro' are strictly for the extraordinary RoboHelp Server needs.

  • Is it true that you can only publish on RH 9 server with layout "WebHelp Pro"? Not in the layout "WebHelp"?

The HR server instructions appear to only specify WebHelp Pro as the types of projects that can be published on the HR server. Is this true? If so, that would be unfortunate. I was really hoping to be able to use the functionality of categories of content of the regular provision of WebHelp.

    Thank you.

Property to true. WebHelp Pro (or FlashHelp Pro) is the only SSL products. And, unfortunately, the SLL Pro don't support categories of content at the moment. It is a very requested feature, so I think that what is addressed in the future releases.

  • Failure to publish WebHelp Pro

When I publish my project on a server that hosts RoboEngine, HR takes a long time to do something, but ultimately fails and fails. The message I get in the display at the bottom of the HR interface reads as follows:

WARNING: Impossible to publish on "Server." reason: unable to connect to the server.

I use my own account (with administrative privileges on the remote server) and the password to connect to the server. The server itself [u running - I can connect remotely without problem. In addition, we can rule out corruption - I created a new project of unique theme and encountered the same problem.

It worked well only five weeks ago. Any ideas?

Follow-up: I deleted the password that has been saved in the page layout and entered my current password. The sequence is probably the following:

    1. my password expired on the server.
    2. I changed the password when connecting to remote session, but did not connect the points, so I don't change the password saved in the layout of WebHelp Pro.
    3. several weeks passed before I tested the functionality of publication once again, so I forgot what I had done in step 2.

I have a strong suspicion that I tried to change the password of layout after I discovered this problem, but it is possible that (a) I entered the wrong password or (b) my memory is faulty. Regardless, the project publishes correctly now, and the mystery has been removed (a bit).

  • What are the steps needed to get EPICS server to publish the deployment on RT cRIO

I've been using LV for many years and has everything with a cRIO 9074 RT I am able to generate and execute/deploy the simple screw on the cRIO, but can not get the EPICS server to publish the PVs on the network. I have spent hours studying examples and whitepapers, but can not find a good example of a server of EPICS on the cRIO deployment. (I used successfully EPICS on computer based systems)

Does anyone have an example step by step related to the deployment of the EPICS on a cRIO (real time)?

It turns out that the PVs were published. Just know how to pick them.

  • Captivate 8 - video integration problems. Video won't play Web server when published under the title of HTML5. When to play the video it works not embedded.

Captivate 8 - video integration problems. Video won't play Web server when published under the title of course HTML5 and video is selected to play in the same screen. Play video it works only in a new window. The problem is the customer's requested integrated video and it shows as an option in Captivate 8. In addition, the video screen is not at the same place on the screen, the image moves to the top of the browser window in Internet Explorer. Graphics problems appear ONLY in IE and Chrome for PC. We have updated browsers, installed all updates to Captivate 8 etc.

The issue seems to be with internet explore. The url is *.mp4, if IE browser opens Media player in a new window to read the files.

    Workaround solution:

Instead of using the interaction of the Web object, you can use a Web object (objects-> Web) site in the menu object.

After insertion, select the code incorporated in the style of the real property section. (Screenshot below)

Encapsulate the url in an HTML video tag and use it as input.

    Input samples:

  • How to call our 'Welcome' WebHelp Pro page

RH9, HR Server 9, WebHelp Pro

I am the content developer, and I need to give the correct address to distribute to the start page to our network administrators. Should this page named "Index.htm" or can it be something else which indicate us as the default page?

I understand that this works differently for WebHelp Pro for WebHelp.

Can someone clarify for me the "best practices" to name the start page when the generation of the WebHelp Pro and when you distribute the URL to the users, create hyperlinks in Help and so on.

In addition, how to create URLS that open specific pages with the table of contents frame already open.

    Thank you

    Mike

Index.htm is not the default page, this is the start page. The difference being that the start page is the three executives who take the toolbar, the navigation pane and the topic pane. The topic pane, that's what shows the default theme.

If follows that the content is not a topic the the file name index.htm that RoboHelp will have to rename them.

If you were referring to the start page, then blog Colum will tell you more. http://www.cmcandrew.com/robocolumn/archives/2693

I know that Colum used without problems, but the Adobe line is that it is not supported. I think that the reason is simply that it has not been tested, but I don't know that for some. Your call.

Is there a reason to oppose index.htm?

  • Projects of WebHelp Pro merged in RH8 - options of CSH does not

    HI -.

We strive to improve in RH8 RH7. Currently, we have several contextual WebHelp Pro projects that are merged on the RH7 Pro Server. To do this, we simply select the checkbox "merge projects" in the administration tool. (Nothing is done in the client of RoboHelp w/respect to fusion, as should be done with no Pro projects.)

The main project is the master in virtue being quoted first in the Web administrator. The order of the remaining projects sets their order in the merged help TOC. The main project specifies two appointed custom windows and a custom look. In WebHelp Pro options for the child projects, we put the default = skin and the default window = None.

The implementation of aid is contextual card IDs. Some have older context strings, defined in .ppf file their respective projects. Everything works as expected in RH7. When a map what ID is called from one of our applications, the individual help topic inherits the project master custom window and the skin. The topic with the ID string or specified mapping context appears in the right pane of the custom management scheme. The table of contents lists the subjects of all merged projects. We used the RoboHelp_CSH.js provided by RoboHelp in the design of this help system. The call looks like this:

    < a
    href = "javascript:RH_ShowHelp(0,'___http://___<ServerURL>/roboapi.asp>MyHelpWindow',HH_HELP_CONTEXT,'5108')" > help < /a >

We do not specify a project name and the server is happy (still solve the card ID). RH8, we created the same things on the server. However, the "child" projects are not inherit the 'look' (window/skin) defined in the main project. Either the ID card is not resolve. We have also a window simple glazing defined in the main project for help pop ups, who now insists on appearing with other custom frameset of the window (buttons, TOC bar) and topic pane. We changed nothing, other than customer RH8 RH7 project import. The server 'merge' is checked. The call using RH8 had to change and so far looks like this:

    < a href = http:// < ServerURI > / < frame > / server? sector = Area_51 & ctxid = 5108 & wnd = MyHelpWindow > help < /a >

Note that we have not addressed by using the Robohelp_CSH.js file that is packaged with RH8 yet. Let's first, i.e. ensure that server is running correctly and we have devined the new syntax of the parameter correctly. The question is, what must change for our request for aid work in RH8? The above specified link displays the correct set of HTML frames, but the topic pane is empty/Virgin. If we start on wnd = MyHelpWindow, we get the good topic, but it apears in the window of the default browser of the user, with no table of contents. In addition, if we target the simple window glass I mentioned above, it appears in the expected size and the location defined in the main project, but it's multiple tiles (once again, with an empty topic pane).

Here is an observation. We found that in the Admin Web of RH7, selection of the main project and clicking View project show default theme of mastery in the custom frameset. Do the same for some children projects, they display their default theme in a simple window (without frames). In RH8, many child projects would display the default RoboHelp frameset and a 404 error in the topic pane. By carefully investigate parameters NewWindow of child projects, we found that RH8 is particularly sensitive if these parameters are nothing else than to have 'A part' and 'Use default browser settings' selected.

Anyone know why this still does not work? Any help appreciated.

I have the same problem. I just want to go straight to the help file that calls the context ID.

  • Images within the passage of the mouse (score) not included when compiling WebHelp Pro

The start of my RoboHelp 7 project page contains some mouseover (hover) functions. Those who surround buttons that change their layout when the mouse pointer is hovered over. I used JavaScript and writing directly in the HTML code.

The preview works very well. When the version of WebHelp Pro is compiled, only the first images are copied to the respective folder. The underlying images, which appear when the mouse hovering over the area, are absent. How can I make RoboHelp recognize these images when compiling? What I owe their index somewhere?

Of course, I could copy into the folder structure (then everything is displayed properly.) manually. But is not practical, because I'm not the only programmer/designer and will not be the admin when the project will be online. So I need a solution for automatted.

    Kind regards

    Wolfgang

    Hi again

First things first. You mention WebHelp Pro. You are posting to the RoboHelp Server?

Normally, you won't see a "Baggage Files" folder on your hard drive. If you just added to the luggage, the files would have ended at the level of the root of the project. Luggage is more a concept than anything else. This is a list that RoboHelp maintains content that you tell him to take when you create the output. In addition, if your project uses folders for organizing, you also ensure that you place the files in the right folder when adding to the luggage.

    See you soon... Rick

  • How to change & quot; New window & quot; something else to WebHelp Pro?

    Hi all

I know, there was thread on this a while ago. I use RoboHelp x 5 and the skin is WebHelp Pro (XP_Blue_Glass). Our project published, I noticed it says 'New window' in the upper left corner of the title bar in IE 6. I don't remember the name of the file to open and edit it.

Another question, once I find the file, it is in the project folder that needs to be changed or is it in the published folder that needs to be changed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi all

ODoyle, have you tried to change the caption for your defined window box? In my view, that outputs pro use this. Just the nickname file Windws, then double-click on the window to change its properties.

    Well done to all... Rick

  • Window search/TOC not displayed in the output of WebHelp Pro

    Robohelp10, WebHelp Pro-

I have what I think is quite fundamental question: when I generate my WebHelp Pro project, everything works perfectly until I have move the contents of the output folder to a network drive for viewing. When the default theme opens, rather than display the table of contents/search on the left, I get a link that says "view". Click on this link, and the table of contents opens on the right.

    WebHelp Show link.png

I would like to have the table of contents displayed on this initial point of view, without requiring users to click on the link 'display '.

Yet once, when I check the output results on my local drive, the table of contents appears. The obvious problem is generated using must reside on a network drive to be viewed by our users...

PS: The project is on my local drive, only the contents of the output folder is moved to the network drive. In addition, any display of the table of contents seems to work very well.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Larry, Rick has solved your problem of conditional compilation. However, make sure you have all updates installed for 10 of RoboHelp.

Issues in RoboHelp WebHelp versions 10 and 11

I noticed that you are using IE. The link display occur with Chrome or Firefox as well?

Meanwhile, I'm still suspect that you do not open the good 'default' start the page file to start the WebHelp and that's why you get this link 'Show '. It's 'witness' that you open the file in default theme instead of the default Start Page. By any chance have somehow named "the topic of your default", index.html? If so, this is not correct.

  • How to retrieve some TOC auto-sync output RH10 WebHelp Pro?

Recently we have successfully upgraded a large project of RH9 to RH10. However, after the third or fourth re - publish (at the exit of WebHelp Pro on RH9 server), we noticed that the TOC is more auto - syncs with the topic pane. Users can access topics by clicking on a field name in the table of contents, and the name of the open section is highlighted as foreseen in the table of contents. But if the user switches to another topic using a hypertext link in the topic pane, the move is not reflected in the table of contents; Instead, the previous topic remains highlighted.

Has anyone seen and solved this problem?

This problem has disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared. We publish WebHelp Pro Robo 9 two-server and the same problem occurred on both servers at the same time. Now, it has resolved itself on both servers. Some regular updates of subjects were made in the interim, but nothing which could explain what was going on.

  • Help formatting a WebHelp Pro project related to FrameMaker

I am new to FrameMaker and RoboHelp, two software have been used by my company before I came, but unfortunately the people who knew the software left before I was hired.

I imported our FrameMaker 7 documents in FrameMaker 10 and recreated the WebHelp Pro projects.

I have some simple formatting problems which can probably be attributed to my lack of knowledge or training.

I install a skin, the master page and style that matches the old help we need to reproduce as much as possible.

My problem is that I am a FrameMaker to RoboHelp project link so I changes specifically in the RoboHelp project (we have personalized by customer help and I am hoping to keep only the FrameMaker document). I'm not able to get the paragraph formatting (specifically indented) to work right. The information seems well before the master page is applied, but once the master page applies (during the generation of aid) everything is pushed to the left column and there is very little withdrawal and this isn't the way specified in the style sheet.

Any help would be great. I was getting used to packages and really love, but now I'm pulling my hair out about little things (such as Visual form).

    Thank you!

I have found the problem. I decided to change my stylesheet from RoboHelp outside and found a lot of "null entries. He works in the way I asked now.

  • With output window display problems Webhelp/Webhelp Pro

    Hello

I created a few projects webhelp after being informed by our team of QA and development projects I created HTML5 format were not compatible with 1.) old versions of IE [specifically the 7 and 8 - posted another discussion on this in the last couple months, tried the patch of shiv without result] and 2) the control used by the program to display a HTML file, mounted on a given device [iOS] - what I have said, this is true for iOS 7 and it is supposed to be a new version of IOS control 8 which supports the HTML features. But we are not there right now (still need to support iOS 7), by application QA/DEV, so I created the webhelp projects to see if these work and display better on devices.

I noticed some display problems when I generate and view webhelp output. Initially, the books in the table of contents are cut off and I have to resize the TOC pane and drag the bar to scroll at the bottom of the viewport to see. But when I do this, the button of the search field in the toolbar is cut. Also, the initial vertical scroll bar displayed on the right side of the window apply to the entire window. In other words, I can't use it to scroll upwards or downwards in the displayed topic. Again, I have to resize the overall window or drag the scroll down bar all the way to the right, how I can see a partial 'hidden' vertical scroll bar for the window in the topic.

The Properties window to create/edit a dialog box window for webhelp and webhelp pro provides much in the way of personalization or all that I can see related to these questions.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how I can get the window to display correctly?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Sincerely,

    DH

HA! Looks like we stumbled on the solution by mistake. I checked the zoom setting and it was 90%. This has changed to 100% and voila'! No more double scrollbar. The skin - a little Diggin ' this Global Connect we've also changed. But you can now use a scrollbar to move up and down in the topic you would expect.

Thanks for all your time and suggestions to help me solve this problem!

    DH

  • Can someone tell me how to resize the Index / TOC on Webhelp Pro component generated the project?

The pane on the left side of the screen is too small and must be increased manually. I wish she were wide enough when the page is displayed that all entries can be read.

  • Is it possible to generate withouth WebHelp Pro is the tab 'Index '?

We decided not to add keywords in the Index to our project, and it would therefore be good to exclude its tab of the output.

Abosultely it out. Open the window that you specified in the scheme of single source of WebHelp Pro. The window itself is in the configuration of a project module. There, you will find a section on the right side which defines the displayed buttons at the top of the tripane view. Just deselect the option to Index and recompile your project.
