Should I update my Intel motherboard drivers?

I own a PC Intel D945GCNL Motherboard and Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 operating system. I am a user of Home PC and my PC is also supported 32-bit in the display and the version of DirectX 9 .0c for multimedia.

My question:

Is this OK to update the drivers from the Intel Download Center?

For an example:

(1) now I have Realtek HD Audio Driver 5.10.0.5404 in my PC. Intel Download Center shows that for Intel D945GCNL motherboard equipped with the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system, there is a latest audio driver (released 09/23/2010) called Realtek driver Audio ALC, which installs the version of the audio driver Realtek 6196. Is this OK to download this new driver?

(2) now I have Realtek Ethernet LAN Driver 5.664.205.2007 in my PC. Intel Download Center shows that for Intel D945GCNL motherboard with the Professional Microsoft Windows XP operating system, there is a latest driver LAN (published 02/08/2010) named as version 5,764. Is this OK to download this new driver?

(3) Similarly, should I update the version of the graphics driver, too?

Please give me your wisdom, advice, comments for this problem!

suresh87 is correct, you need to update the drivers you listed on the Intel site .  Card mother Intel® D945GCL has the Realtek ALC888, Realtek RTL811B-GR and the Intel® 945GC chipset (which includes the Intel® 82945GC Express Chipset Graphics Memory Controller Hub) as embedded devices.  With what is the case, the Intel® Web site is thefavorite of all the drivers of the said source.  Intel was able to customizations for all Realtek drivers specific to their use on their D945GCL which all drivers that you might find elsewhere will not be included.

Once you have downloaded and installed the drivers above, you can run DirectX® end-user Runtime Web install dxwebsetup.exe from Microsoft, , because it will download and update software DirectX v9.0c pilots who may be out of date on your system.

  • 750-103D wanted: should I update to the latest drivers listed on 14 August 2016

I bought my office on 15 August and just noticed that the HP customer online support shows most, if not all latest drivers appear on 14 August.

My office is currently superbly and I wonder if it is really necessary to update the latest drivers that I remembered some experts counsel that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

So I should or should not update the drivers?

Expert IT advice are welcome. Thank you.

    Vincemy82

The date of the driver that you see on the site of HP is probably wrong.  That is the date that the web page was last updated by HP, not the date, that the drivers have been released.

To view the date of the driver, you must click on the Details tab for each of the drivers.  You will see then probably much more ANCIENT date of actual output for each driver.

    Good luck

  • need updated drivers Intel, motherboard, Dram and other

First stop, I'm a big 75 years old grandfather with an observation of something that HP does not provide. But should!

My wife and I bought of many HP laptops, desktops, tablets, etc. over the years. Right now, my concern applies to the Touchsmart from HP Envy 23se-d394. My wife has one and I also. We have all two laptops HP, etc, etc.

Now, a driver update programs tells me that I need 14 software updates for Intel, motherboard, etc that I listed above. They want me to pay 40 dollars for the software update program.

My question is why HP isn't a such FREE update program for us to use. We have spent countless dollars for HP products. So in my opinion, they should have a program update for us to use for FREE! Right?

Your contribution will be appreciated. Thank you.

I suspect that the 'pilot program update' who wants $40 is not at HP, because as you said, HP should and provides necessary free updates.  This is the page for this PC drivers.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-envy-23-all-in-one-desktop-PC-series/5395609/model/5398988/drivers

Click on the "Scan Now" button on this page.  It will then advise what updates are (free) coming from HP.

I have then go to the HP site and find the most recent version of the driver is from 2012 and upgrade to this version doesn't help me a little.

like many other people I am playing Black Ops 2, the game unfolds like silk after loading but the crosshairs on guns is missing and the load time for everything (campaign, multiplayer, zombies) is more than 7 minutes whereas it should normally take seconds.

I said that's the problem with the graphics card and is not up-to-date. Well, I'm trying to download one but HP has not on the Web site! What should I do?

    Hi again Levimuffins,

It is good to hear from you!

The best way to update the graphics drivers on your laptop is to follow the steps described in this document on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7). This should help to install the latest drivers and updates for your computer model.

You can't see a newer driver update for your computer laptop, is because the configuration of equipment to measure your laptop can support that version of the software.

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards

  • Update of Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230

Today, Windows Update has an update in the "optional" category for the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 on my ThinkPad Edge E530.

Lenovo updates, I can tell what they are for and then decide if they are relevant to me or not. Unfortunately, it seems that in Windows 7, Windows updates has no information update (they did it under Windows XP). Anyway, is there a way I can tell what makes this update? Why should I update/no?

    Thank you

    Thomas

    Hey guys,.

To earn a little more clarity on what you guys see, what version of the driver that is currently installed? I could find the latest drivers included:

Directly from the Intel - 15.3.1 version release Date - 11/15/2012

Directly from Lenovo - version 15.1.0.18 - 06/09/2012 Release Date

It was so confusing that the update suddenly jumped around, like its been some time since updates came Lenovo driver, and the Intel update was more than a month ago. Thank you guys.

  • Intel graphics drivers

Then I looked around my graphic driver updates and I don't really know where to go.

The Intel Web site has NONE of the Mac (proof https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics-Drivers) compatible graphics drivers, and is the Intel Windows drivers update utility only.

First question; If the Mac comes with so many Intel drivers, why does it seem like Intel does not give a shit about us?
Second question; How to upgrade my drivers?

Are equipped with all the necessary drivers for the graphics units Intel Mac Minis running OSX / integral with the OSX provided by Apple. No additional drivers/updates are available except an OSX update or update OSX

  • Should I update my Macbook 2009 end of El captain?

My Macbook is an end of 2009 one, with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz processor, a chip of 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory and an NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M 256 MB graphics card. There are currently about OS X 10.9.5, and I've seen articles recently talk of a huge hole being patched in OSX recently. I know not if my Macbook update is worth the risk, because it works very well at the moment and I need for classes, but I don't want it to be dangerous. Should I update to El Captain, wait for macOS Sierra to do this, or keep on Mavericks?

    Thank you

I can only say that the latest security updates are installed when you upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS X. Now El Capitan. If you wait or not depends on if Apple releases always updates to security for the Mavericks, and if you install these updates.

  • Should I update my MacBook 2010?

Should I update my MacBook 2010? I am a novice and mainly to store photos, e-mail and internet. Thanks in advance.

    Mac OS X 10.6.8

    The specifications are: MacBook7, 1

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz

    L2Cache: 3MB

    Memory: 4 GB

    Bus speed: 1.07 GHz

In General, you should always pass to the last possible system like you meet the specs for, as long as you do not have "must have" applications that do not meet specifications. Upgrades and updates contain important security as well as additional functionality enhancements.

Although Apple has 2 GB of RAM 4-6 GB is really a minimum. Your using be expandable to 16 GB. You can check that the CrucialAdvisory tool, or OWC. After adding RAM, I'd update to El Capitan.

  • Should I update iMac 21.5 mid 2011?

When I got my new iMac iRetina my old iMac was put in mothballs. By this, I mean that he sat at a desk not used for more than a year. My wife wants to start using it and I just turned it on and a miracle happened, it works. I thought I had left it in a State ready to be configured for a new user, but it is apparently already configured to connect to my apple id because I see an option to close your session with my name on it. Two questions: 1) how that it is configured to check? Since we went with the iOS devices, we used the same ID apple so if we buy apps, they are working on one of the devices. (2) it is a 21.5 "mid-2011 with an Intel Core i5 to 2.7 ghz and 1333 mhz 24 GB DDR memory. He is currently in OS X Lion 10.7.5. What OS should I update 1) this iMac can deal with good performance and 2) is free? Did someone using Open Office for the iMac? If yes it you please?

    1. System Preferences > users and groups > Admin account

System Preferences > iCloud > sign in

If it is not configured as you wish, the easiest would be to wipe the drive with disk utility and reformat. Then, in the wizard configuration, make your choice.

    2. you can upgrade directly to El Capitan 10.11.5

In General, you should always pass to the last possible system like you meet the specs for, as long as you do not have "must have" applications that do not meet specifications. https://support.Apple.com/kb/SP728?locale=en_US

Several things you should do before moving...

    1. If you have questions on your current system don't their compound by installing above them. Solve them first, and then upgrade.

    2. check HARD drive for free space. At least 8.8 GB of available storage. Preferably more.

    3. check your applications for compatibility here... http://roaringapps.com/apps

4 make a bootable clone SuperDuper! or clone double or use TimeMachine.

    5. unplug all devices, including USB hubs.

    6. After downloading the installer, it will be in the folder/Applications. Copy and then drag it to a different places like downloads.

7 be patient, the download takes a long time, and the installation may appear as sometimes it is dead. Ignore it.

  • Should I update driver wireless or not?

I got a HP Pavillion Dv6-6c43cl Win 7 Home Premium 2012 running with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 map.

Two or three times a day, stalls of the Wi - Fi and drops, forcing me to unplug and then reconnect the wireless signal, then it seems to work fine (for a while).

And even when it is running, the Dv6 wireless speed is only about half of a 2016 model HP Pavilion 15 t I sat right next to her.

So it seems that I have either a defective wireless card or I need latest drivers, right?

Assuming it's true, the safest and easiest bet is probably to try to update the drivers first to see if this resolves connection problems.

The problem is, HP Support Assistant says he has no drivers updated to for my Dv6. Yet, when I go on site software and the driver from HP for my Dv6 model, it offers what, in my view, is a driver updated for my laptop.

"My WiFi for Microsoft Windows 7 version 15.1.0.18 Intel, Intel PROSet and Intel wireless drivers" (August 31, 2016).

Is, in fact, the driver update for my Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 card?

    Or is it something else?

And why HP Support Assistant tells me that there are no updated drivers for my card?

Finally, if it's a better bet to forget the drivers and simply update the map instead, do I need to order a new Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1030 or get a new card faster - and if so, which?

Your opinion is that very much appreciated here.

    Thank you!

I agree with you. I have uninstall ALL the bloatware programs loaded by HP and other vendors as soon as I buy a machine. I also unload everything except on or two programs loading at startup.

The reason why I have re-installed HP Support Assistant was to see if she could tell me whatever it is my wireless card problems.

And I would never have let Windows (or tune) automatically installs the updates. Let me know about them? Sure. But I decide to settle or not, which is how I've avoided Windows to force Windows 10 on me through these two windows updates kept pushing (it was KB2952664, the other was 303 KB something or other). And that's how I avoided a lot of other problems as well.

For example, on my HP Envy, recommended Support Assistant that I install an update of the bios I did a quick search on Google and found a number of people desperate to go back.

    So, I'm here with you.

Thanks again for your help today. I'll mark this thread resolved.

  • Should I update all the files from the Toshiba site after using the recovery CD

I just used my recovery CD and update the Windows Update System.

The question is: should I update all files in the files on this site download section as well?

Usually after using the Toshiba Recovery CD everything should works and works correctly
To my knowledge from time to time Toshiba has released new version of some tools or drivers. For example the BT stack will be developed all the time.
But I think that if you have any problems with your system and peripherals, then you don't need t to update anything.
    Small is my opinion...

  • Satellite L - How to install the latest Intel graphics drivers?

Tired of waiting for Toshiba releasing the latest Intel graphics drivers (have problem with Aero if want to install the latest drivers). Intel Installer recognizes that it is a Toshiba and bombs out telling me that I have to get the drivers of Toshiba.

Guess it is to check a reg framework or also - anyone know how to make this work?

    Hey Buddy,

Before discussing these things there, you should put your model correct portable operating system.
In addition, you must send a description of the exact error on the problem or error message.

But of course you can install the drivers to display Intel directly, that's no problem. It will work.
I also installed new drivers Intel several times and don t have problems.

  • Satellite L350 and Intel display drivers

    Hello.

I noticed that Intel display drivers are newer than the ones I got from here. Yet when I try to install those it tells me that those who have not been validated for my hardware. Is it possible to get the Intel drivers on my system?

    It's a Satellite L350 Vistar Windows (32 bit)

    Welcome them
    Stefan

    Hello

The Intel page reader may be installed via the Device Manager.
You need a zip driver package that contains the dll and ini files.
You can unzip the package on the desktop and after than that, go into Device Manager and update the driver using the installation procedure advanced which allows to point to the driver unpacked on the office package.

    It will work
