Should I upgrade to 5.1 or stick with 4.4.4?

Hi people.

I have a motorcycle of first generation X, and I'm trying to decide whether to do the upgrade of KitKat Soother (5.1). I'm really happy with the phone, as it is currently: it does the job, the works of battery in my case, and I have almost no complaints. By reading the forums here and elsewhere on Lollipop, many people suggest the problems they did not with KitKat. More serious both seem to have a memory leak that forces the phone reboots from time to time and battery drain problems. I don't have any of these problems now. Lollipop benefits seem to be a pretty interface, a new notification system, a gesture of flashlight chop and some other features of whizbang. None of those who are important to me, especially not at the expense of stability of life or phone battery.

Is there a good reason why I should update? I think seriously sitting this one - it seems that I would take a number of headaches for no real gain is worth it.

What are the opinions of the people? Is an upgrade to 4.4.4 to 5.1 on a Moto X 1 St gen is worth? Are there disadvantages or risks for not updating?

Thank you!

Well, for me, I tried the update of Lollipop. It brings with it many improvements and Kit Kat did not work so well for me. There are many nice settings. If you have no experience with Lollipop, you can not miss them. To address your specific concerns:

Battery drain: for me, the battery life has improved. I got lucky to get 1-1.5 hours before time screen. Now, I did a factory reset before update and don't have a lot of these applications, I had installed, reinstalled which can further contribute to the improvement of the actual update. I don't have enough data to say. I know the battery life was better for the next day between reset and get the update. Intelligence Unit doesn't seem to be in the list of battery sometimes, but I always get 2-3 hours time screen, easily.

Memory leak: it's a problem in the first versions of Lollipop (5.0, for the most part) for Nexus devices. I have not encountered the problem on my Moto X. I think that the problem is fixed for the 5.1.1 on Nexus devices and I can tell is not present in this version 5.1 for the Moto X.

For the record, it seems that the chop for the gesture of the flashlight is for the 2014 X only. Or at least I have not found where to turn it on. Still, it is nice to have a handy flashlight toggle.

Before the update, I have a list of things that I was looking forward to lollipop. Here's my blog if you are interested:

Keep in mind that updates often solve security problems. I'm not aware of anything specific to Kit Kat, but I felt that I should talk about.

  • Should I upgrade from 8.1 to 10?

A few months ago I had to buy a new desktop computer and it came loaded with 8.1 with free upgrade to 10.  A month ago, I responded to a pop up saying click here if you want to join the queue to release grade - I clicked and have heard nothing since.

I don't know anything about the drivers, applications, updates etc.  I use my desktop computer for surfing the internet and emails, that's about it.  Should in view of all the pitfalls, I continue my free upgrade or just stick with 8.1?

If I contact Microsoft for the promised free upgrade, will I still go through reams and reams of updates - it took Geek Squad nearly 6 hours to get the new computer loaded initially.

I'm probably a little more reckless than TheOldMan but I think that we are guiding the lilly here. The update of Windows 10 media creation will 'just work' for you. If this isn't the case, it retains the Windows 8.1 recovery partition which would make it easy to reinstall 8.1 in the very unlikely event that you do it. The computer is practically new so I doubt there is a lot about what is new or different from that of a factory installation. Windows 10 gets rid of the "Subway tile" thing that nobody doesn't like and in my opinion makes the computer easier to use. Windows 10 is just a lot better for a novice is one of its charms. However, to be honest, you're probably very well do nothing and go down the road.

  • Should I upgrade Windows?

I have a HP laptop with a processor core 2 Duo running Windows Vista. It's one of those huge media notebooks with a built-in HD, CD player. It is the HD format that was competing with Blu - ray a few years ago. It has 4 GB of RAM and works well, except that missing a dll that is causing the error messages. I found a web site hosted by Microsoft, I think, which detects and installs the missing DLL. My problem is that my teenage son has used the computer and contracted many types of malicious software. Even if I scanned and eliminated what we found, I always fear to enter a credit card to pay for the service of the DLL. My question is whether I should upgrade to a newer version of Windows by formatting the hard drive completely? The Microsoft program that detects the indicated material that I can use a 32-bit version of Windows. The Windows upgrade would take more space on my hard drive? Would it not slower? And finally, there are the drivers in support of my old CD player? The hard drive is only 1 Gig, which was considered as big at that time. But the manual says that it is easy to replace. It would cost thousands to replace the computer with a new similar model, if they are still made. This monster has a 21-inch screen and is ideal for watching movies. And if I just stick with Vista, can I pay for missing DLLs by phone? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but the size of your hard drive in no 1 GB.

Vista will not install on 1 GB

And if you have a site "Microsft" that will search for and provides drivers, it's a scam.

You can reinstall Vista on a HP by pressing F11 at startup.

Should I upgrade to Windows Vista 64-bit of Windows 7?

Summer wrote: where can I get a DVD of Windows 7 upgrade?

Hello summer, DVD of Windows 7 x 64 upgrade usually can be found in your local computer supply store.

Here is the link for the specifications of your system and it shows the system is delivered with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP1.

Here a link to Newegg where the operating system Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium Upgrade can be found for USD $109.00 with free shipping. Free shipping usually takes about 7-10 days. You can choose faster shipping for an extra cost options.

This Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium Upgrade is a commercial version and comes with a free gift of Kaspersky Lab Internet Security 2012 1 user license.

When you insert the DVD into the optical drive and boot the system, you would be presented with the option in a few screens to perform an upgrade installation. You would select just a upgrade and installation will continue and complete.

You should then have Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 installed. If you want or need a more robust version, such as Windows 7 x 64 Pro or Ultimate, you can find these institutions, but they cost a bit more, and if you do not need the features of these versions, it would not be the extra cost.

Whatever version you decide, you must put the enclosed certificate of authenticity (COA) on the system case and remove the Vista COA of the case. This could ensure that you are legal.

You should also go to the Windows Update site after the upgrade and see if there are new updates for your system.

    I think it would be.

When I bought my pc it ran Windows 8 and I have upgraded to windows 8.1. My pc has a few small problems since then.

  • Should I upgrade my Internet Explorer for Wondows XP?

Hello to all on the Forum HP... I have a question that I was hoping someone could help me with... I recently bought a HP Pavilion Media Center second hand m7480n and I am currently using Internet Explorer 6. I was contacted by Windows Update, regarding the Internet Explorer update to IE 7 and IE 8. I don't really know too much about computers, but I've heard conflicting reports on the IE 7 and IE 8, that has me very confused... Regarding updates, when you run or not... I heard good things for most on IE 7 and IE 8 on IE 6. that IE 7 and IE 8 are much more safe and secure for reasons of security when you browse the internet and other things too... To make things worse... I called the other day on the upgrade to HP support and they told me not to perform the upgrade and stick with IE 6.

Any help regarding my situtaion for updating my Internet Explorer would be greatly appreciated... Thank everyone in advance for their time and patience... Have a great day everyone.

IE 8 looks just a little different from IE 6 (from what I remember of IE6 ), but not so much that you will be overwhelmed. IE 8 is more secure and safer than IE 6.
