Shrink and move the two adjustment high tide

Hello

I'm trying to discern the difference between her shrink and move and their impact on the high tide of a table.

My understanding is that MOVE rewritten because each row in a table (so why he can cope with the rank of chaining) while SHRINK moves essentially existing rows in a table 'down' the table in any available freespace. That's why the MOVEMENT takes a tablelock while SHRINK takes a line lock.

I want to see is MOVE and REDUCE the effect of high tide and all the two free space and give it back to freespace for the tablespace?

I think MOVE reduce the HWM and to restore the space freed up storage space. I'm not so sure of SHRINKAGE.

Any help greatly appreciated

Thank you

Jim

They both adjust the HWM.
