  Thank you for your response. I fortunaely found a fix before I can get to your answer. I tried to uninstall the graphics driver originally from Device Manager > graphics cards > intel graphics hd 3000 > right click and uninstall > then reinstalled the driver.

  Fixed what he was going to the control panel > programs and features > uninstall intel Hd graphics driver > and reinstall the driver.

  You misread the info for the magnifying glass; It does not say 8 MB (megabytes), it says 8 MP (megaPixel). It is something completely different.

  I have a very frustrating problem with my HP Pavilion dm4 - 3.55dx Entertainment PC running Windows 7. I bought it 3 months back and it worked very well at the speed I expected to until yesterday when I restarted.

  I was watching videos on youtube when my google chrome crashed. And then every time I restarted chrome, it would start but will not let me type. As a result, I started using Firefox and that worked very well. But I had all my bookmarks and stuff on Firefox so I decided to restart my laptop, hoping that would solve the problem of chrome.

  When it restarted, everything went well, I connected and my office has appeared, but it froze. I couldn't do anything and he would not recognize the clicks. Nothing seemed to work so I used the power button on for close and tried again. The same problem. Then I opened a session in Safe Mode and checked the event viewer and there was an error on the Microsoft .NET Framework v4 period.

  I also had DCOM 1084 errors but I'm assuming this is because I was in safe mode in time.   I installed the windows updates and then defragmented my disc. problem is after I restarted windows (normal start-up), none of the installed programs work, and worse, it is im not able to install any new program, that is to say I can't run .exe files. even system restore option doent work (throws an error stating, there is no such program). now im not able to connect the task which resulted in .please help current situation (windows update or disk defragmentation)

  Thanks for the reply, I solved the problem in any case. I used normal Defragmenter from Windows 7. but force expect registry corrupted due to this files.

  my system was empty without realizing any file assosiations.luckily that I had a backup of the old registry files, all I had to do was to run my backup.reg files after with c:windows / regedit.exe.

  now, the system works well.
