Size of the file after scanning a slide

After scanning a silde in TIFF format, when I import into the library Lightroom file size is only about 1/6th the size of the file scanned on my hard drive. A scan of 50 MB becomes a LR 8 MB file. If I take the file in Photoshop, he's still 50 MB. I tried to save the photoshop file with a different name and then put in LR, but she ends up always in 8 MB. I have the same problem using VueScan 9.0.90 both the software of scans Silverfast 8.0. How to keep the size of the original file?

LR4.3 is updated

OS - X 10.8.2 is up-to-date

Pacific image Electronics Powerslide 5000

Software Imaging is 9.0.90 VueScan and Silverfast have Studio 8

Any help is appreciated

You misread the info for the magnifying glass; It does not say 8 MB (megabytes), it says 8 MP (megaPixel). It is something completely different.

I would recommend that you select instead of for display. It's a much better idea how wide is your file, and if you divide the dimensions cropped by 300 you get to the size of the typical print of this image (without resizing) file.

  • Reduce the size of the file to Scan

When the Scan is finished the file size is on average. 35MB and before the scan on the initial downloan

It is 244 KB. How can I scan these documents and keep the size under 20 MB, so I send e-mail?

Try different scanning options. You can also try the PDF Optimizer.

  • Size of the file after conversion to the format even

    Hello.

I'm quite new to Adobe Premiere and I wish I had an answer for my problem:

I did new sequence AP of the 20 MB .flv file. How is it possible that after have exported them with the codec FLV and 'Attribute source Match' preset, it becomes a 60 MB file?

    Concerning

    Paul

Because 'Attributes of Source Match' has nothing to do with the flow parameters. If you want the file exported to be same size bytes, be sure that your rate is more or less the same for video and audio as the source file. If you are not sure bitrates of the source file, use a product like MediaInfo to find out.

  • Size of the file after export video / SOUL

    Hello

My animated movie is exported long enough and when it is very large.

About 500-600 MB. I have "export video" to the SOUL and encode it.

I have no experience in the reduction of the file in any CC animate

or encode. Is it possible to do without quality loss?

    Thank you.

If you choose not to send it to the SOUL, you will have a big MOV file. Then you can manually send in the SOUL and try the different settings. If you go just to download from YourTube you could even send them the huge MOV, they will be when even recompress it.

If you do your own compression, choose a preset from SOUL H.264 high quality. Something around 6 Mbps or higher must always appear.

  • Delete Pages, size of the file, PDF Optimizer Clean Up

Using Acrobat 9 Pro (for Windows, if that makes a difference).

I have a page 148 PDF of a magazine, about 58 MB in size.

I deleted 40 pages of ads, leaving just the useful content.

The size of the file is always about 58 MB.

When I run advanced-> optimization PDF

the file size down to about 47 MB.

The optimizer settings don't seem to matter.

Even with just 'Clean Up' selected, all options unchecked,

and Compression, the value 'Leave unchanged Compression'

the file size is further reduced.

I tried several other publishers of PDF with tools,

and none of them reduce the size of the file after you remove the 40 pages

even using their functions 'optimize' or 'compress '.

Can someone explain why deleting pages does not reduce the size of the file

and that fact optimizer (who do not have other tools)

to reduce the size of the file?

    Thank you

Space of audit indicates that more than 99% of the content is images.

Save As works in the same way as Save (no change of size of original file).

However, Document-> reduce file size works even better than optimization PDF.

Reducing the file size to about 15 MB!

What extra stuff does reduce the file size?

  • Size of the file too large on/after export. Takes too long to download on youtube

Hey everybody! I still have my question answered so I hope you all can help me with this. I intend to upload my videos to youtube, but there is a problem. The size of the file for the aftermath is far too large, so it takes hours and hours to load up on youtube. The size of origin when it's done export is about 2 000 000 KB... I think this is equivalent to 2 GB! It's huge for youtube. Even after that I have to encode it with media encoder, it is still huge. It does not decrease the size of the file about 2 000 000 KB 500 000 KB, which is in my opinion a GB & half fallen out of the original. But I am looking for the size of the file between 300-500 MB when I upload it to youtube. That's about 0.3 to 0.5 GB. I also used the youtube preset in media encoder export. If anyone can help me identify this problem, I would be very happy. Thank you!

Oh it's you... with the expression of timecode. Well I see that you move on! close to there. your screenshots are the after effects render settings and output Module that are relevant to make a file without loss is to say good for further editing or encoding later. We were talking about before Media Encoder, which is what you should use to encode the files (NOT the Codec Mpeg4 that we see here). I see that you have about 5 minutes. If you want to download on youtube, you can use these recommended settings table: recommended encoding download - YouTube Help Center settings. under flow, you can see that the recommendation for 1080 video is 8Mbps. you can use these settings in the settings of your SOUL or the preset default value of Youtube, which is twice the speed of transmission. 10 seconds of HD1080 at 8Mbps is around 10 MB of files. 5 minutes will be about 300 MB. If you choose the preset, it will be 600 MB. shipment of 300 MB with a standard 1.5 Mbps download speed will take about 30 minutes.

If you want to encode your file, you have two options:

1 make your file using a lossless format: Animation of QT for example - then take this file to SOUL and encode using a setting predefined YouTube

    2. make and encode your files at the same time by choosing your publication by clicking on the composition-> add to the queue of the SOUL. Choose the preset of youtube

in these two options, you can see about your final file size - this is an estimate

and after that, you can download your file as expected and win the $$$ that you deserve, if people dig

    Hello

No function zoom, you 100% het (size) of the original when scan. No need to buy a software, you can use Windows Paint to increase/decrease the file scanned.

    Kind regards.

  • total size of the files of Windows 7 does not match the size of partition

    In the D: partition

total space: 265 GB free space: 59.1 GB

There is only one visible folder: Daisy, size: 87.4 GB from the Explorer

Other records hidden three: info Volume system, c:\Windows\Msdownld.tmp, $RECYCLE. BIN takes up almost no space

Of course free space does not match the file size.

Do not partition system, no problem to update windows and restoration, sleep or page file.

    Some strange things:

    1. with the help of file size 3.4 correctly see the size of the file

    Daisy file occupies 206GB

Once I copied the whole file to the other partition Daisy

and the result is the record more like 2xxGB

so I guess that 206GB is the right size

    /////////////////////////////////

    may be ignored.

    2 folder being read-only Daisy

Even uncheck or untick read only box in the properties of the folder does no effect

After loading, it still shows read only

    3. 'read only' does not work

2, daisy file is read only

but I managed to delete files inside

    ////////////////////////////////

    ////////////////////////////////

Is it a mistake to folder structure?

It's a newly installed windows, so I guess that windows is clean

Hope to see the solution and identify the problem

    Thank you very much

OK, based on your new information, the error is that Daisy is 206 GB but Windows Explorer reports it as 87GB.

No other information seems more relevant.

    Ideas-

1 run ChkDsk on the drive - [first of all, make sure you have a backup of Daisy or make a new backup always] in Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive & select Properties, then the Tools tab, then click the check now button, turn off the option to make repairs in first to see if there are errors or not before making any decision as repairs can delete or corrupt files which are reported in the file allocation table.

    2. find another utility that measures the size of record to help you track down all the difference here.  TreeSize Free will be repeated.

I do not understand your comment "later, I found the reason why I can't locate the"office"is the language of auto change." It's in Chinese at first but watch the 'bureau' cmd"that this had not been mentioned before.

  • size of the file for video on the web

    Hello world

I exported just a 10-minute video using the H.264 format and preset YouTube HD 720, but the size of the file ends up being about 611 MB.

I lowered the bitrate, and then I got the file size down a little but not a lot. I was just wondering if this is what size usually is a 10 minute file or if I can reduce the size somehow, except using bitrate

Would be very grateful for any advice.

    Thanks in advance

I was just wondering if this is what size usually is a 10 minute file or if I can reduce the size somehow, except using bitrate

You can also reduce the size of the image and/or reduce the pace.  The size of next standard frame down to 1280 x 720 is 960 x 540 and 640 x 360 after that.  In fact, fewer pixels produces a smaller file.  For all lower frame rates go, you could reduce it by half (so 29.97 FPS reduced to 15 fps and 24 fps to 12 frames per second); However, this affects the quality of movement, and the H264 is so effective that it is rare to reduce your frame rate, these days.

Is too large because of your internet 611 MB upload?  Or do you need a smaller file to fit on 521MB USB Flash drives or some other limitations of storage?

  • (Huge) Increase in the size of the file

    Dear people,

I just downloaded a video on youtube in a 1080 p .mov file that is about 80 MB.

After that, I opened the file with Adobe AE, deleted the soundtrack and cut about half of the video because it wasn't what I needed.

After a 'normal' export, the file is now 7 GB +.

Can someone explain why and how this happened and how can I remove the sound and cut video without having to deal with these huge increases?

    See you soon!

Dave is right. You should use first.

That being said, your basic understanding of the works of the AE on a fundamental basis is wrong.

You made a video uncompressed to After Effects. It will be bigger than the VERY compressed video from YouTube. AE works with video information completely inflated for each pixel in each image. The size of the file of the incoming video is not relevant. AE will still work with completely full frame, uncompressed information. If you give a highly compressed video source, it decompresses while you work.

Think of it this way, you can take nothing in your project but a 23 kb JPEG and make a video with her and the result will be a huge file if you return an uncompressed video.

FAQ: Why my output file is huge?

  • Seems to be a misinterpretation of the size of the file that is displayed in the bottom left of the main screen.

Seems to be a misinterpretation of the size of the file that is displayed in the bottom left of the main screen. I thought that he used to be Tablet/no compressed size. But I get a lot of analysis that are the limit of 2 GB for PSD and when I back up, after trying for a while, it says file exceeds the limit of 2 GB for the PSD. I try tiff and get the field exceeds the limit of 4 GB for TIFF. PSD, it will do but can not be read by Lightroom, so they won't be in my catalog. If these numbers at the bottom right are not properly which is the file size they are for?

The numbers on the bottom on the left represent just the size of the image that the file is open and not what it could be saved or compressed. You think if often is under the 2 GB limit, but it's really over. If she goes, save the file as a PSB.

  • Save a pdf file after scanning.

Anyone with problems saves a pdf file after scanning? I use a Brother MFC-9130CW to scan documents using Acrobat DC on a Dell Latitude using windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Once the analysis completed and I try to save or save as save as dialog box appears, but are empty. Can someone help me with this problem > I have not tried support again, I wondered if maybe that someone else had this problem and was aware of how solve it.

    Thank you!

    Hi joshw31458652,

Refer to the solution below: -.

The default "Save as" dialog Acrobat DC is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems. You can try to disable this feature to see if this brings your backup in the back of the box: open Acrobat Preferences, then go to the "General" category and uncheck "show the online storage when you save files:

I would like to know if it works.

    Kind regards

Well, I found the answer myself. One that has been hard to find, but simple. It was a setting of preference! I went to Documents > / a View Mode > set to never. Option to reduce is now back!

  • Sides of the picture not read the XMPs after scanning of metadata updates

    Hello

I have problems with LR CC 2015.0.1 on Windows 7 SP1.

    Summary:

When you scan for metadata updates, everything from the XMP files is loaded correctly with the exception of the coast star image. (color and development settings labels are loaded properly)

This applies only to a specific set of images. Tests on other examples of images working correctly!

    This is my workflow:

    • I copied a set of images (a folder with 3 subfolders) to my PC and Mac
    • I gave the coast star photomechanical 5 on Mac
    • I imported all the photos into Lightroom CC on both computers (both computers are running the latest versions and patches of LR and Win 7 and OS X respectively)
    • In LR, I modified develop more refined image sides and settings on Mac
    • I saved the metadata of images
    • I took the XMPs and their transfer to PC
    • I scanned for LR metadata changes
    • LR properly imported him develop settings and color labels, but doesn't import the image sides

I transferred XMPs three times just to be sure, but nothing has worked. I also gave notes directly on the PC and then replaced the XMP files with Mac. This reset completely all ratings to zero. He didn't ignore them (leave 2-star) - he acted as if she was reading 0 star ratings of XMPs.

I also opened XMPs from Mac to check their contents, and of course, they contain all of the correct sides. I will paste only the beginning of a such XMP here:

    ...

If the data is clearly there.

To check the question, I took another series of images and performed the same test (skip the photomechanical sides and using only LR) and everything worked properly. The sides have been read after scanning of metadata updates.

Which is perhaps the reason why LR CC will not read only the sides of a particular set of images? If the initial assessments of photomechanical somehow interfere with this process? I must emphasize that LR Mac reads correctly the photomechanical sides. I also repeat that the significance of the notes have been fine-tuned in LR after importation.

How to fix? I wouldn't have to manually re-enter hundreds of sides.

    Thank you!

I have more understanding of what's going on:

The .cr2 and .xmp files contain sides:

    . CR2: side = 0

    . XMP: side = 2

I have not found any specification of how this is handled, but I infer that it is treated in a manner similar to that recommended by the metadata working group to resolve the differences between the IPTC metadata embedded in a file and also stored in an .xmp sidecar.  I think here is this line in the .xmp file:

    Photoshop:EmbeddedXMPDigest = "EE74E1C6A44E10D4CAC648FE110E243E".

is supposed to represent a Digital Digest (a checksum) of the content of the XMP metadata in the .cr2 files.  However, it does not match the checksum of the current contents of the file .cr2, XMP LR says, "Ah, it is necessary that the person changed the XMP in the file after .cr2 this .xmp sidecar was created."  So if I see a field of XMP metadata that is at once in the .cr2 and the .xmp, I prefer the value in the .cr2, since it must be more recent. "So, LR uses the notation = 0 the .cr2 rather than the .xmp.    Change the digest in "AD0ACF660F79AC49FD004B2DD3BC0461" causes LR read the note of .xmp sidecar.

The XMP embedded in the .cr2 sample does not contain the usual what program added side = 0 audit trail, so I can't help you there.   But he added at some point.

One way to solve this problem is to use the Exiftool free to remove all your .cr2 files note:

    ExifTool - xmp: side = *. CR2

ExifTool will automatically backup copies of all files, it modifies, in case something goes wrong.  (But Exiftool is extremely robust, even with large manufacturers raw files.)
