Sierra OS

Hello

The new OS will be released soon, should I worried that my iMac end of 2013 is perhaps not able to download?

Surely, I wouldn't need to buy an updated iMac?

Thank you

No need to worry.

You would not.

How can I scan from HP Envy 4500 to computer after downloading macOS Sierra?

    Hello wdemetris,

Thanks for asking for scanning helps here in the Apple Support communities. I understand how it is important to have access to your scanner and am happy to offer help for this.

As a precaution, we always recommend that you have backups to make sure that all your data is safe. You can perform a backup using Time Machine and an external hard drive. Use this article to help make a backup of your Mac: use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.

Then, in accordance with article help: printer and scanner for Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and the Mavericks macOS software, the HP Envy 4500 e-all-in-one is supported for printing and scanning. The drivers must be installed, but if not, if it please go to the App Store and check the updates tab to see if there are updates for HP. If there is, please install.

If you have only general questions about how to get your updated scanner in place or how to scan pictures, please check out these two articles: macOS Sierra: implement a scanner & macOS Sierra: scan images or documents. If everything is configured correctly and you still have problems scanning, please visit this help article: macOS Sierra: scanning troubleshooting.

Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

  • problem of fan with sierra?

    Hello

Everyone knows their MacBook Pro fans go into overdrive without provocation since the upgrade to Sierra?

I don't have that mail and Safari open (to make this post) and fans are whirring away as I use a 3D graphics heavy program.

The room is cool and the MacBook is raised on blocks to facilitate the movement of air, but its always acting like there is more of the work in progress.

    It doesn't seem fair.

  • Sierra OSX mail

    Hi Apple,

Just upgraded to OSX Sierra 10.12 (A 16, 323), MacBook Pro (17 inch, early 2011).

    2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, RAM = 8 GB DDR3 at 1333 MHz.

After upgrading to Sierra, e-mail was completely rebuild, and now the app slows system performance where my Mac is almost unusable.  Spinning balls, delays of 30 seconds, etc..

After leaving messaging, things speed up slightly.  Restart my Mac accelerates again until I run the Messaging.

Could you please tell, and if it is a common problem, could you please address it in the next update of Sierra?  Had no problem under Yosemite.

    Thank you very much
    Erik

  • moving slowly to a file in Sierra

I just installed Sierra and when I try to import a file into FileMaker Pro 14 it takes long time painfully for the window showing which file choose. Same thing in the Mail when I try to choose an attachment.

Does anyone else have this problem?

If you have installed 'just' Sierra as you say, there is much current activity as for example the Spotlight is re-indexing system, Time Machine is it backup, Photos are analyzed for facial recognition etc. etc.

What is the Applications > utilities > Activity Monitor show used most of the time CPU?

  • I've never done a Time Machine backup and I have upgraded to iOS Sierra. Help!

I'm a fool. After owning my Macbook for 5 years, I failed to make a single Time Machine backup. I just saved my essential to an external hard drive. I have upgraded to iOS Sierra. Big mistake. I want to go back to iOS Capitan, but it does not seem possible. Now, my external hard drive is wiped clean (things are dark). What are my options? If I'm stuck with Sierra?

If you have downloaded El Capitan, it should always be available in your purchases. Now, you will need to make a backup to backup your personal files.

  • Since the update for Sierra, contacts do not appear in Messages - just phone numbers.

Since the update for Sierra, Messages no longer displays Contact names - only phone numbers.  No instructions on how to remedy this.  Ideas?

    Hello

Go into the Contacts application and ensure that it uses the same account synchronization like the iPhone and other devices you may be using.

Also check the part of the accounts of the Contacts application preferences and make sure that it's only using one account.

  • macOS bug Sierra - Possible? (Terminal)

I use the Terminal Df-h command to find the percentage of used space on the hard drive of my Mac, and I've noticed that since the upgrade to Mac OS Sierra; It came out that I used 0% (which may not be true); I was wondering could this be a bug and this is the case with anyone else?

In fact, it is show you used 6% of disk space. 0 percent at the end relates the number of inodes that are used (data structures that manage the different metadata). Because you have so few files you are not yet using 1% of inodes, so he says always 0% are used.

    So, no, no bug

  • USB disabled after the update of the Sierra (a short circuit and a work)

Hi, when I bought my mbp 13 inches mid2012 (used, not new) I noticed that a USB port did not work. In the Yosemite sometimes I noticed that a USB port consumed too much energy and have been disabled. (I think because the usb port has been short-circuited. Year when it was time to update the mbp to El Capitan I had a few panic the kernel and the newspaper was shown as the last driver loaded the USB driver, so I kept the mbp with Yosemite. A few days ago, I updated for Sierra but only usb which used to work stopped working. It has enabled and turned on but Finder and disk utility does not see the drive. In an Apple dealer they said that could be established relationships with some oxide and next week will take it and see what the problem is.

If there is someone with the same problems, please tell me what to do! I don't want to put in the trash my mac just for a flash drive... but I need!

    Hi Supermene,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. Based on what you said, it appears as a USB device is not recognized in one of the USB ports. There are a few things that can cause this. I recommend you read these articles, which may be able to help solve the problem.

  • I can't go to my bookmarks after update for Sierra

I have a MacBook Pro. I just updated this week to Sierra with no problems, but now when I click on multiple points in the upper left corner to reveal my favorites and my playlist only, it displays the top sites page and does not open my favorites and reading list, as it used to.

Can someone tell me how to access my bookmarks and playlist in the Sierra? I'm sure it's something in the settings or something escapes me. My Bookmark Bar is the top of the page, yet. I can't find my bookmarks and reading list.

    Thank you

I thought about it, I had to go to Favorites on top and tell Safari to display in the Sidebar again.

  • Yahoo Mail failure after upgrade of Sierra - iMac

After the upgrade to Sierra... Now I find that I can't 'see' Yahoo mail... I tried to add the a/c: then the removal of the a/c. I get the Triangle of Hazzard indicating error account! I went down this loop for 2 days...

All my other email accounts worked instantly. iCloud: Gmail etc.

I tried to manually configure the settings...

Everything seems 'normal'... but not a thing, no mail: no record... a real pain. the only joy that is web based too... If I can work...

But, come on APPLE... This happens to my Yahoo mail whenever I update IOS... What is going on???

I always seem to end up in a CHAT SESSION just to get my MAIL BASIC... This ISN'T a quality SERVICE...

MAIL today, is a very basic service... Please, APPLE... issue a patch for us, the little guys

    Rant on.

    help, please, anyone...

One user posted (Re: Sierra - Yahoo mail offline persistently) he has had success in choosing don't no Yahoo when you set up the account, but to choose the other and set up the details manually. You would like to try and see if it works for you.

I didn't ask for it) and his having the same issues in suspended about 90% of black bar under logo and when press the keyboard or the track has a flash of the screen showing the kernel panic and goes in a loop to do the same thing indefinitely until I have power and the downgrade.

Here is a picture of the screen

    Maybee it's a virus.

Since I upgraded my iMac 27 "I can no longer use Time Machine to recover.
