Signal strong wifi X220t Centrino Advanced-N, intermittently, dropping internet

My problem is different from those who have difficulties to internet connection in tablet mode.

Maintain a continuous and strong/full wifi signal, I lose internet access intermittently.  It makes no difference if the unit is used in laptop mode or tablet. If I reset the wireless adapter, I stay connected to the internet for anywhere from a few minutes up to an hour or two.  The wireless signal is always at full power, and the distance between the router makes no difference.  Sometimes the Internet returns and plunges again, however, I usually run the Troubleshoot utility to reset the connection.  Diagnostic/troubleshooting of windows running resets the adapter and returns the message: "the connection between your access point, router and Internet is broken" and "the default gateway is not available", but only temporarily solve the problem.  We have two other laptops in the household who are unaware of connection difficulties.

So far I reinstalled the drivers from the Lenovo site and have set power options for maximum performance for the wireless adapter.  This is a brand new unit used for a few days and has had the problem since I have it unboxed.

Resolved - seems to have been a problem with my router, which unfortunately is a model of Netgear wireless-N - ish.  Switched on to another router and it seems to work fine now.

  • Can not solve the problems of connection with Wifi (Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6205) card

The card Wifi on my X 220 (Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6205) gave me so much trouble, I'm about to give up on this and buy another laptop.

In general, the connection to any hotspot Wifi in any location is quite unreliable. It looks like it is connected for a while.

And several times a day, sometimes several times per hour, I have to go to the Intel Wifi connection utility and click "Repair" to force the card to renew the IP address. This resets the connection and run for awhile again until I do more.

In recent weeks, I tried everything I could think of. I uninstalled the drivers, installed the latest drivers from the Lenovo Web site, then tried those on the Intel site. Those who are a little more reliable, but the problem persists.

If the drivers of card/can't be fixed, is there a chance to get Wifi to work again if I buy another Wifi card and install it? Should which card I try? Can be installed without sending it to Lenovo?

Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Wireless Centrino Advanced - N 6205 drops, lag, etc., problems of navigation.

I just swapped my old x61t with an x230t, I thought I'd be a happy owner. I'm not.

    The x230t is equipped with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Wireless (2 x 2).

The problem is when I browse the internet using Opera or another browser, sometimes the pages not loading completely. It keeps me waiting and waiting and waiting forever and some images do not appear yet. On Chrome, its even worse, it doesn't load pages at all. I have to refresh over and over again just to get a simple page to load. I ignored the problem reaching until recently when I accidentally made a payment 5 times since internet services banking web app! because of this stupid error.

The Bank called me after 2 hours to ask me if I have in fact authorized 5 different payments to $203, so I ended up stopping my money for the next 7 days. I can't use my own money until Monday next because the * bleep * thing is not working properly. It's not cool! Why do I have to ask my friends to lend me the money and look so God-* beep * miserable?

But anyway, back to the problem, my router (SMCWBR14S-N2) is not the problem since my old x61t does not give me any difficult times to pay a simple task to browse internet pages. I paid before with the x61t and never had any problems.

    I tried the things:

-Set the power to maximum performance profile

-Disabled the PCI Express power functions

-Power saving mode wireless adapter set to "Maximum Performance"

-Tried Intel and drivers provided by Lenovo individually

-Tried the login to Lenovo and Intel ProSet Wireless utility

-Pilot attempted downgrade but couldn't really find an older

-Google as much as I could in the circumstances, I've seen a few threads on Intel support forum but no one has been able to help

  • Wireless network signal strong with IP address correct but still no internet!

I'm trying to set up a wireless network by using a 2wire gateway. Initially, my Dell laptop (XP) would receive a signal, but cannot connect. I received the generic 169.XXX.XXX.XXX IP address. After some research, I went into properties and changed the IP info and gateway to match my router. This solved my "limited / no activity" problem I had and the correct IP address showed also on my laptop. HOWEVER... I can not connect to internet. I did the "run...". IP/config' thing and still no dice. Any help will be appreciated!

    Hi jns4be,

Thanks for all the information. With the wireless is not unable to broadcast a signal, you will need to contact 2-wire or it is provided by your Internet access provider. With the computer plugged it looks like you are renting an IP right as shown above.

    ... Description: Broadcom 440 x 10/100 Integrated Controller
    ... The IP address: 192.168.1.116

Can connect you to the internet? As it appears IP or valid, you communicate with your entry door.

  • Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6205 intermittent dropouts

We have big problems with this particular adapter in our environment. We receive intermittent dropouts. The connection will freeze and stop responding to the point where you have to do a windows repair or restart the adapter to operate again. You can be connected for a whole day without any problem, or it can happen randomly for example after 20 minutes to be connected. Nearby, other devices e.g. an agn intel 5100 and 5300 work perfectly.

You get no indication that the connection is interrupted and the adapter in the systray looks as if it is still transmitting packets but affecting no. Cisco WCS troubleshoot does no problem. Events in debugging stop and not start again until you do a repair on the machine.

Support Intel and Lenovo were really unnecessary (they basically do not want to know, supported service), so now I'm on Cisco, just in case it's a configuration problem, which I do not think it is as we have not reported all issues with other guests.

On the sides of the machine, we have:

    Lenovo x 220 Tablet with adapter mini pci-e Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6205.

Also happening with Fujitsu T730 tablets also with mini cards pci-e Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205

We have tried all versions of driver intel of the last 14.2.0.10 down to the OEM versions provided.

they are under Windows XP SP3. We have also tried with Windows 7 and get similar questions.

We use Windows Wireless Zero Configuration, WPA2-AES with PEAP and authentication (computer) against Cisco ACS v5.2 talk to the AD of the machine.

On the side of wireless infrastructure, we have:

    Cisco 1142N APs (-E - K9) connected to batteries of 3750G w/poe

    The controller is a model of 3750G - 24 - WS - 50 running version 7.0.116.0

    managed by the WCS.

The wireless, 20 mhz channels on 1,6,11 on the side of 2.4 ghz (N is off), but we have N activated with channel 40 mhz on the 5 GHz with all countries UK channels.

The machines to connect to up to 300 MB/s and the quality of the signal is excellent. Density of the PA is high enough in the room. DCA, PTC power control and Tx are active and set to automatic.

Can't think of more in detail to include, but I have ideas that anyone can have.

    Hi all

I wanted to shed light on this topic. We are aware of a problem with connection on the Intel 6205 legs specifically. The problem will be resolved in the drivers Intel 15.1. The cause has to do with omission of the acknowledgement of receipt a package when the MFP Infrastructure is enabled, then the current workaround is to disable the MFP infrastructure.

If you can, please try to disable Infrastructure MFP and test connectivity from the client.

    -config wps infrastructure disable mfp

    Kind regards

  • Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6205 WLAN causing blue screen (BSOD) on Elitebook 8570w Win 7 SP1 64 bit

    Hello world

In recent months, I use a 8570w Elitebook.

I can't tell you when the problem started, but as soon as I unplug the notebook from the power supply and WLAN is enabled, I get a blue screen after a while. Sometimes, but not this oftehn, I encounter this problem even when the laptop is connected to the power and WLAN is enabled.

I could not determine when exactly this blue screen, but it's certainly the WLAN (Bluetooth is disabled in the BIOS for the moment). It happens most of the time when I'm under two or more virtual machines with VMWare Workstation (version 9.0.2).

The WIFI card is an Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6205. I tried several drivers (mid-2012 at the latest in April 2013) with a complete uninstall of the previous drivers. Without success. Operating system is Win 7 SP1 64 bit.

Google helped me a bit and I found an Intel forum where people are describing almost the same problem with these Intel WLAN modules.

Checked the Knowledge Base of HP and I am just find more messages do not deal with the new modules.

Should I consider replacing the WLAN (guarantee) card? Someone knows the same issue and was able to find a solution/workaround?

    All opinions are appreciated.

    Thank you
    Jerry

    Hello world

Finally, I have launched the Intel WLAN module and replaced by a Broadcom module (HP spare part number: 669832-001, Broadcom model: BCM943228HM4L) with the driver version: 6.30.223.228 (05.02.2014).

This solved my problem of blue screen. Intel (same as last) drivers do not work with the configuration I have on my Elitebook 8570w and I gave up to find an another software/driver associated solution. In recent weeks, I can run multiple virtual machines in VMWare (9.0.4) without problems.

Hope this information is of help to anyone who is struggeling with the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 WLAN module.

    Cheers, Jerry

  • Code of Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN 43

I'm having a similar problem as a guy in another thread here. However, these generic answers did not help, I tried them all several times for weeks.

The problem persists. This equipment is installed in my Toshiba Satellite A665, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Here is my report of the problem:
This adapter creates two "Microsoft Miniport adapters WiFi" without which the adapter does not work correctly. Sometimes, if you use the laptop for an extended period of time (4 + hours usually) miniport adapters get the point yellow exclamation and during the inspection, they spit on a code 43, and I lost the internet connection.
I found a way to work around this problem, to fix it without having to restart the notebook: open Device Manager, click on ' Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6200 AGN and turn her off. " There are usually 3-4 turns of this manual reset to solve the problem.
Run the troubleshooter Wireless does the same thing: resets the adapter, but does not solve the problem.
    • I ran the windows update, everything is up-to-date.
    • I searched drivers, everything is up-to-date.
    • Problems running windows wireless has no effect.
    • I uninstalled and reinstalled the device a dozen times, without success.
    • I disabled network adapter power management settings.
    • I moved and changed ISP, internet dial-up SPEED, modem, router, etc., and it STILL happens. Firmware is updated.
Nothing has worked. It appears here and on the Intel site looking around, there are a few problems with this adapter and windows 7 64-bit. I don't know where the problem lies, but the problem exists.
If no help other than what I mentioned that I did already here would be appreciated, and if it is impossible to help, pointing me in the right direction would help as well.
    Thank you.

I found that my neighbors have the same router channel as I did.  After changing my router and the channel on the adapter, speedtest.net showed the immediate fix.

  • Cannot ping the default gateway with Centrino Advanced-N 6235 on XPS 12 but CAN connect to the Internet

I have a XPS 12 with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wireless card.  I can't ping the default gateway with the wireless card.  When I use a USB network adapter, I can ping the default gateway for the wired connection.  I can connect to the Internet and the internal network with the wireless card and can ping other computers on the network.  I am trying to run a program to connect wireless to a projector.  I have two different programs for the two different projectors.  I can connect by cable but not wireless.  I think that the problem is anything that does not make me a ping of the default gateway or something on the wireless card.  I have a 10 latitude with a Broadcom wireless card that is connected to the same access point and can ping the default gateway and can connect wirelessly to two projectors.  They all have two windows 8 Pro.

I downloaded the new drivers from Dell, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to update Windows install the drivers, all with no success. Any ideas?

The solution of the problem by chance.  I was connected to the computer with a different network than what has been used to authenticate user account on the wireless.  When I switched the user account for the user account that was logged on to the computer was the same who authenticate to the wireless, it worked.  Go figure!
