Signature errors and "...". attempt to access the API blocked"error

We have a Smart Phone WebWorks very simple application that opens an external URL to start. The app works when it is deployed to a device using the JavaLoader to install cod from the directory StandardInstall, but it does not run when installed using a JAD file from the directory OTAInstall (using JavaLoader or downloaded with the browser).

Error message displayed at startup is: "error starting d6x102xdc6ff029cb2aedf9ecc1cc45a5fb474d: Module 'd6x102xdc6ff029cb2aedf9ecc1cc45a5fb474d' trying to access a secure API."

Inspect the event log shows two errors of apparent signature:

time GUID:0x97C9F5F641D25E5F: 15:38 Friday, may 25, 2012 severity: 0 type: 2 appystem data: CMM: d6x102xdc6ff029cb2aedf9ecc1cc45a5fb474d (5376) No sig 0 x 545252

....

time GUID:0x97C9F5F641D25E5F: Fri may 25 15:38:03 2012 severity: 0 type: 2 appystem data: CMM: d6x102xdc6ff029cb2aedf9ecc1cc45a5fb474d (5376) No sig 0 x 414252

Other posts on this forum indicate that the error is due to missing signatures. We have installed three signatures using signature tool:

customer-RBB - xxxxxxxxxx.csi

customer-CPR - xxxxxxxxxx.csi

customer-RRT - xxxxxxxxxx.csi

The installation is confirmed by running the signature on each of these files, tool that displays the message: "Signature tool has already been registered with this signatory. If you try to record with the same signature twice, you will overwrite the previous record":"

The application is built using bbwp then signed with signature tool with the recursion on the output directory, for example:

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26\jre\bin\java.exe -jar c:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.3.1.5\bin\SignatureTool.jar -a -c -C -p ... -r c:\temp\_546ade8eae214e950293e490c8eda702/output/d6x102xdc6ff029cb2aedf9ecc1cc45a5fb474d

No errors are reported bbwp or signature tool. Running signature tool on each of the files in the Directory displays OTAInstall COD an empty window, by clicking on the query button displays a message: "no signature not required".

Our web server is configured with the necessary mime types for COD and JAD files.

All this seems to indicate that the necessary signatures are installed, the COD files are signed, but somehow the signatures are currently not recognized when the application is deployed on the handset.

We use Java JDK 1.6 on Windows 7 (32 bit). The device that we test this on is a BlackBerry Curve 8520 with OS 5.0 Bundle 1096 (v5.0.0.592, platform 5.2.0.64).

I apologize for the response to my own post, but I think I have found the cause of the problem.

The indicator has been in the error log:

Error starting d6x80x5eb0f0ad298dd67a21dc74be0323b592: Module ' d6x80x5eb0f0ad298dd67a21dc74be0323b592-1' attempts to access a secure API. "

It seems that each .cod file requires corresponding .cso and .csl file. The OTAInstall directory contains several, numbered in the order the .cod files. Each of these files requires a pair of .cso and .csl files with the same name as the file .cod.

For example, for an application with the "app", the OTAInstall directory name can contain several .cod files, that is to say:

App.COD, 1.cod - app, app - 2.cod, up to n.cod - app. The same directory should contain app.csl, app - 1.cso, 1.csl - app, app - 2.cso, app.cso, app - 2.csl, up to n.cso - app, app - n.csl.

This seems to be undocumented behaviour in bbwp.

Did someone in the community able to answer why bbwp does not create these files? Is there a documentation which can confirm this obligation? Is there another method prescribed to create applications that mitigates these problems?

  • Cannot access the API blocked

I created a web application bb factory using the web works for Visual Studio plugin. I tried to install the application and got the error cannot access the api blocked. I researched and found that the fact of not having signed app can cause this error. I followed the instructions that comes with the plugin on the signing of the app.

    • In Microsoft® Visual Studio®, on the Tools menu, click on install BlackBerry signing key.
    • Navigate to the folder that contains the file signing key (.csi).
    • Click OK.
    • Type the PIN registration and the password for the private key.
    • Click Save.
    • When the success dialog box appears, click on exit.

When I try to install the application, I get the same error message. Do not install the key and sign the application correctly? Help, please

Have you installed all the three keys?

  • error: "module tries to access the API blocked" even if it is signed

    Hello

I have a request I have compile for various brand (image and some const are different) using the same code base.

My problem is that the code event and the process of compiling/signature is the same, SOME fail version to run on the device for pointing out the error "module attempts to access secure APIs"

I found the various page talking about the same problem:

I checked that the jad got the hash and SignatureTool reported cod signed (it's not DB-00717, I check the csl).

I think that my problem is DTS 55471

"DTS 55471: cannot load the signed file.
If the addition of a signature causes the data to a .cod file section be more than 65536 bytes (2 ^ 16) in size, the application file signatory does not report an error, and cannot load the .cod on a security file. Impact: In rare cases, a .cod file signed by the signing tool does not work on a safe device.
Solution: Increase or decrease the size of the file. "

So, my questions are the following:

    • How can I detect that cod got a too big 'data' section (ideally using a lot) without installing it on the device?
    • How can I actually change the size of compiled cod "section of data" otherwise than by trying and error? (I had 32 version of the application using the same code)

    Technical info:

    • Tested on BB 9500 Storm OS 4.7.0.141 device
    • Compiled with JDE 4.2.1 4.6 and 4.7.
    • Signed with JDE 4.2.1 SignatureTool

I look forward to the advice / tips

    Christophe

During this time, because it's a bug to know, I tried to connect with a newer JDE SignatureTool cod.

With the JDE 6.0.0 (dl RIM date 23/05/2011).

I could sign and execute my cod (same as before ounces) on the 9500!

So, the solution is: use the JDE 6.0.0 signatureTool

Sorry, I do not tried before posting. I hope that this post will help someone.

  • application trying to access the api blocked

    Hello

IAM trying to run my app on my phone, it works fine on the Simulator. When I run it on my phone it gives me an error saying "application is trying to access the api secure."
    Thanks in advance

You must sign your application if you want to run it on a real device.

You can find more on signature here:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/Java/documentation/code_signing_1977871_11.html

If you search the forum, you will find that this problem has affected other people, for example here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/app-trying-to-access-a-secure-API/m-p/189075...

  • Module tries to access the API blocked

I was complains about customers that they can not install our application go to App World, they are "error at startup AppNameHere: Module ' AppNameHere-1' attempts to access a secure API.»»

The app is signed correctly and works on devices 6 + OS (tested on Bold 9780 and Torch 9800) but gives this error on OS 5 devices (tested on 9000 "BOLD"). I tried to install App World, installation of Web of .jad, and use development tools and it always gives me this error no matter how I sign it. The application USED to work on the OS 5 but then I started to use net.rim.json.org packages that are not available on OS 5. I fixed by following this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10010484/net-rim-json-org-not-found but now I am getting this new error.

    I'm puzzled.

No idea why this is happening?

I finally fixed that thanks to Simon

The problem was that I was using Blackberry JRE 7.0.0 to compile and I believe that this * was * work until I tried to use 'net.rim.device.api.util.ByteArrayUtilities', which does not appear in OS5. (This is just my hypothesis as to why it mysteriously stopped working)

    Steps to fix:

I had to write my own "ByteArrayUtilities.byteArrayToHex ()" (fly on here) after using JDE 5.0

    In addition,

I don't think you can use org.json.me in OS5. Looks like it has been created in the OS6. See the docs http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/5.0.0api/index.html OS5

This is where I received my initial error in OS5, so I've included this https://github.com/upictec/org.json.me in my project and it included as a custom package, so it does not interfere with OS6.

  • Blocked ConnectionFactory: trying to access the api.

    Problem:

    1. my application uses the ConnectionFactory class for 5.0.x and 6.0.x platforms.

    2. one of the testers reported that the Bold 9700 v5.0.0.169 (Platform 5.1.0.30), it cannot start application. Shows applications message " Application trying to access the api blocked ' where is the name of the application. Also, Tester reported that the previous version of application (where ConnectionFactory served) starts correctly.

    3. I'm sure asking signed correctly, because I was able to install it on several Bold 9700 DeviceAnywhere devices. The only difference I found is that these devices have v5.0.0.174 (Platform 5.1.0.146).

Can anyone confirm that this is a bug in the previous OS 5.0.x? Is it okay for me to suggest the update of the device to the customer?

How the application has been installed?  If they use the WAP browser, read on...

The JAD file used during the download of applications using the Explorer lists the COD file sizes.  These are the sizes previously signed, which tools do not update after signatures have been applied.  In most cases, this won't matter, but some WAP Gateways carrier truncates the COD file based on the size specified in the JAD file, which cuts the signatures for the application.

  • Using a GUI API I got on the blackberry site - error: "tried of BlackBerry to access the api secure."

    Hello
This is so the API, I downloaded and imported into my project->
    http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800332/800505/800608/...

When I run it, I get "Error trying to access the api Module secure"

It says its taken in charge for OS 4.2 and I think, so execute me on my blackberry 9900 OS 5 should work,
I've been on these forums before and after the solutions, I ordered the signature of the key codes and signed the project as well.

This is what appears in the signature box, just code until I run it:

It compiles without error, but it still does not work.
What I'm doing wrong exactly? Any help would be appreciated!

    Hey everybody,
Anyone else who has this problem with these particular CBC of the advanced downloadable user interface files.
Make sure the following is in place.

    Your JRE version is important.
If you test on a device that is older than 7.1

Change your JRE in a right click on the JRE and selecting the right JRE for your device. [some of you may need to download the right JRE].
I installed the plugin for eclipse blackberry, so he automatically gave me all the available JRE. I just had to change.
After that I changed it, I have not the reddest comments when I signed the code.
    AND
It worked fine, no error message popping up for ' api access blocked attempts to.
If anyone has questions and is the same problem. Please ask. I've spent hours on it, and I'd be happy to help you if I've been unclear!
    Take care!

  • Machine Vista "frequently", but not always, ask user name and password to access the public folders on the XP machine.

    Location:

    4 x Vista computers
1 x XP computer acting as a server file, all the data in the "shared folders".

All 4 Vista computers were to access shared data on the XP machine for two years without problem. All of a sudden this week one of the Vista computers "Frequently" but not always ask for a username and password to access the machine XP - not only shared folders, but still a list of shared resources on the machine XP via my network places is the result in the box of "connect to" request credentials to appear. All 3 other Vista machines have no problem to access the XP machine, so the problem must be with the a Vista machine.

To put a spanner in the works as I have said in this case "Frequently" and by that I mean probably 9 of the 10 connection attempts. Let's say, you can see the name of the computer in my network places, you double click it and have asked for credentials, cancel the attempt and to repeat 4 or 5 times and then you could get display shared resources without going into the details of connection. For a few minutes, you might be able to access all the shared data and to navigate through the folders, but then all of a sudden have asked you credentials and can not access to anything, even the files accessed you seconds before.

Lets say you are able to access the shared folders, you navigate to the Parent folder, then under A folder, then a subfolder B, go back to A notebook, then try to access folder B even once and you get guest credentials, quit out of the network completely locations, navigate back to the XP via Network Places and this machine you not even be able to display all the shared resources on the XP machine.

I've also set up a shared folder on a Vista machine with matching username and password on the machines and the Vista machine with the get the problem exactly the same problem so this definatley Vista machine with the question and not sharing files on the XP machine.

Someone at - he met before or have any suggestions?

    Hi MikeBarnes,

You can check in the Analyzer for performance and reliability.

    Step 1:

To start reliability monitor and performance monitor

    a. Click Start, right-click computer and click on manage.

    b. in the Microsoft Management Console navigation tree, click on performance and reliability.

    Step 2:

You can also try a system restore to a point before the problem started.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
