now the little BlackBerry notifications small signs (the one on the email on the main screen icons) are not displayed. When I am new email it shows few signs BB on MESSEGES icon (on the main screen) but not on top of the actual e-mail icon. Any ideas?... Thank you

    Hi, my blackberry 9360 is sometimes a really weird thing. Once a week, after that I used the device to check email, check facebook or even simply by removing the door in leather and put it right back it drains the battery at a very fast pace and hotter than usual. I'm not aware immediately, but when I use the unit 3 hours later for example the battery is almost all gone and the unit is warmer than usual. Please not that it is warmer, but at a level acceptable, just as if it had been used during this period of time, not overheating. I charge the unit and check the activity monitor application and the CPU was mainly used by the... Idle CPU. The part of the device that heats is not the battery, but the device itself. It is rather annoying because I don't know when it will happen again. The only email account, I have installed is a Hotmail account and it goes as well with wifi on and outside.     I need help. I just got a new 9720 BB after that my old BB 9220 phone stopped working. Before the old defective phone, I got my data backed up on the server by using BB BB protect.

    I signed into my new BB using my BB ID and my BBM restored 9720 my BBM contacts. However all data like contacts, Notepad, messages, e-mails and whatsapp are not restored.
    Whenever I go to BB protect app, it does not give me the option to restore, rather they want to back up my current phone.

    Can anyone help me to restore all my data saved on my old BB Phone on the BB to BB Server protect in my new BB Phone?

    To use your BB when out of your network home, and if you want to keep your home SIM card inserted, you must have stored with your carrier network for roaming, international data plan if that's where you are roaming to.

    To use your BB on a network of different carrier with their SIM card, you must first have unlocked your BB is carrier home (see above for that).

    Other (applies to both), your BB must be compatible with the carrier data network technology and frequency... If the radio inside your BB does not support the network of the carrier, then nothing will work. If it is compatible, then you should be able to receive voice-level services. Looking at all the 4 bytes of the version number of the operating system, if the two carriers have the same version, then the package is the same from the functional point of view BB. However, each company tends to "Pack" the package they release with some specific things from carrier, but none of this is really necessary... it's usually just things like icons of teaser for applications that a carrier has agreed to try to push their users.     Okay so I recently bought a blackberry 9800 torch of my friend, its not in poor condition but it has a few scratches on it. the phone also worked well for her.

    This morning, installed an app to rename my files of music, called MTagz or something like that

    directly after the installation, a grey box with a blue loading circle sign and the word loading it appeared. I thought he'd go after a while, but long story short, he didn't.

    Ive tried to restart and turn my phone off, then on, but it won't work. If I could, I would like to uninstall the app, but my phone is completely insensitive.

    I can enter my PIN and password, but as soon as the shoes at the same time the touch screen home screen and keyboard do not work. I can also press the menu button to switch between windows, but when these windows open again I can't do anything.

    If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

    But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '.     and when I've done and press the back button to go to the home screen, the notification is still there. always in the toolbar State, but the icon in the notification already bar disappears, until I have shut the drawer and open it again to she disappear. How to fix this bug? usually, I restart my phone and it works. but another 10 minutes, the problem comes again.

    FYI - Your indignation is misplaced. This site has nothing to do with any formal support. On the contrary, this site is a community of users to volunteers who do their best, while also living their own lives occupied, to troubleshoot other kind souls to the best of their ability. There is no requirement for all voluntary meet any position whether... everything is voluntary, which is given to you by the goodness of their hearts. All they ever receive in return is gratitude... so unworthy of these volunteers can be a bit off-putting, I think.

    In any case you say you reboot and for a while, things are OK, but then the problem shows once again. Which could be a few different things... a bad OS... a bad app behave... maybe same material (although I doubt that your description so far).

    Have you checked for an OS updated for your BB? Since you said only 7.1 (OS levels have 4 bytes, not 2) and later does not reveal your carrier, there is no way to help you... but you can help you in this regard:

    I saw my colleagues read specifically the Indian language Hindi on their Blackberry smartphones. However, even does not work for me, in applications such as Facebook, instead of the local language it shows only special characters.

    I tried searching and found that we can add languages through the Desktop Manager > Applications > Langauge Support. However there is no option under Applications as language.

    Hindi is supported on BB Torch(Read/Write). You can even type the keyboard to the Hindi screen.

    To install Hindi fonts:

    Go BB Desktop Software--> Applications

    In applications under Asian language press select and choose Hindi (click the sign '+' to download and install.)

    Hi all. Have a little problem. I had to go back to an old 9700 When my current iPhone broke. I needed a new card SIM from the iPhone using a different card. When I called Rogers to activate the SIM everything was fine for about a minute. I received texts that were pending since Sunday when my iPhone broke. I had full bars etc. Once a minute, he went to SOS only. While I was on the phone with Rogers Tech Support I have reset and removed the battery and SIM and all the things they wanted me to. Everything looks good on their system, he said that the problem must be with the device.

If it worked correctly with a Rogers SIM.

    Now, I get the same problem with my brother-brother SIM. SOS only. No connection. What happened when active Rogers SIM card must have done something to the camera itself because now it does not connect to any of them. That both SIMs work as I have tested both in my wife's phone.

    The guy on the Support of Rogers suggested that perhaps the closed phone itself - but when I enter the settings advanced for the SIM card that everything is disabled in customization... so it appears not to be locked.

    He said that I should try to reinstall the OS, but that it will block the phone and I need to unlocked again.

    Is there anything else it could be? Will reinstall the OS relock the phone? Any other suggestions?

    First this... avoid this tech Rogers like the plague. He has no idea what he's talking about. All what he told you is simply not possible. Once MEP unlocked, a BB device can blocked at the factory. Nothing of what you have done or the facilities of any OS can relock a BB.

    I'd rather a complete security on the Device Wipe:

    Otherwise, a ResetToFactory WIPE:

    After each one, put it in the SIM card and switch on the device, and then make sure that the voice is through Rogers. Only then start to worry about getting all the data to work (if you subscribe BIS, in other words).

    Hello.  I've worked for a company and access enterprise server needed to receive e-mails from company on my Curve 9330.  When I need is more capability, I called my provider, Sprint and cancelled my plan Enterprise Server and was able to set up a personal email account.  I need to recharge the phone to the default values and now when I go in the installation program to configure a personal e-mail account I only get the option.  When I select the email icon I automatically join in a sign 'no active account' and wonder of my enterprice account activity by providing an email and a password.  I don't have these and my personal e-mail id and password do not work.  I looked through the forums and follow the suggestion which has not solved the problem.  I also called Sprint and confirmed I have more company on my account/plan, in addition to checking with my local cable/internet provider that they do not cause the issue.  I rebooted the device 3 times today and have not made any progress.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile provider for official support... but, this time, not only ensure that BES is deleted, but the BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) is active, this is necessary in order to have personal email accounts on your BB device (as well as many other owners of BB services).

    Your BB OS is outdated... you need to update... the current version is 5.0.0.1036. Here's what I recommend... Since you are on MAC, which makes it a bit more difficult that the sets of tools to deal with things are much more limited on MAC:

    (1) properly uninstall the RIM desktop software:

    • KB18771 Install and uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer

    (2) obtain a new download of the RIM Desktop software:

    (3) install the software on your MAC Desktop

    • KB18771 Install and uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer

    (4) now run the Desktop software, connect your BB when prompted and perform a clean reload of your BB OS, choose the most recent version that it offers (if all goes well, 5.0.0.1036):

    • KB19915 Perform a clean reload of software applications smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer
    • If you have no data on the BB that concern you, and then simply proceed with this update. If you have data on the BB, do not agree that the update and first perform a manual backup of your BB to your Mac. After the update, you may need to restore from this backup (update COULD take a backup itself and restore for you).

    (5) close the Desktop software and unplug your BB when it's all over.

    Now, you must do these steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
