Silent automatic update failed

Hello!

Everything was fine until the 19.0.0.185 version. After installing this version, the automatic update will not work.

Nothing has changed in our infrastructure. We proceed as we usually do: remove the content from pub\flashplayer\update\current\sau and put the fp_background_update.cab contained in. It worked well before.

Nothing more. The event handler have entered for Flash or something else.

OK, I finally got...

The certificate self-signed on IIS has expired on November but we missed.

I had to use SelfSSL in the IIS resource kit to create a new certificate until 2043. I should be retired right here!

The difficult part is to update the GPO to install the new certificate in the computer store. I completely forgot.

Now it works well, and the Flash is up to date on my computer. Later the other 360 PCs

Thanks ridhijain for the tip of registry that lead to a better newspaper.

    Please contact the Microsoft answers Forum.

    Follow these steps and then try to install the update.

    1. go to the location: c:\windows\system\drivers\

  • Flash update request despite the silent automatic update enabled in MMS messages. CFG

    This is in regards to Windows 32 - bit Flash Player Activex.  Version 14.0.0.145

    We have silent automatic updates enabled for 15000 Windows 7 computers.  Sometimes non-admin users are encouraged to update when Adobe releases a new version, such as 14.0.0.176.  WHY?  WHY?  WHY?

    Here's our MMS. CFG that we use in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MACROMED\FLASH

    AutoUpdateDisable = 0

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

    SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging = 1

    AutoUpdateInterval = 0

    Hi Bob,

    Now we are in what we consider a a statement of "strong".  The automatic update silent, which currently grows 14.0.0.145, will be updated at 14.0.0.176 within 45 days of the 8/12.

    To stop the dialog box notification of the event with your users, I highly recommend a look at the chapter that Maria mentioned in his post.  It's really the easiest way to ensure that your users are always up-to-date with the latest version without user interaction.

    Thank you

    Chris

    PS. You can also delete AutoUpdateInterval = 0 of your mms.cfg settings.  It's a little confusing, but whatever it is preceded by "AutoUpdate" refers really to our update notification, not the automatic update silent dialogue.

  • Silent automatic update requires administrator privileges

    What I read silent automatic update functionality is supposed to use the system account, then the user may be a non-admin and it will update always silently in the background. However, users receive the following error message to appear:

    Adobe Flash Player 11.7 Setup

    The installation has encountered any errors:

    You must have administrator privileges to install Adobe Flash Player. Please log on with administrative privileges and try again.

    I configured the file mms.cfg as follows:

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

    AutoUpdateDisable = 0

    Any ideas why this happens? Would like a way to get in mode silent auto update to the latest version of flash, even if the user is admin no, since all our users perform as such. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    So, I realized what is happening. Silent update creates a scheduled task, but the task scheduler has been disabled on all our computers. This is why silent updater was not working and was instead just using the standard update control. You can close this case. Thank you.

  • Silent automatic update of flash player does not

    I was happy to read the news on the new Adobe Flash player silent auto update feature, but unfortunately this does not work on my machine. All the world had the same problems and was able to resolve?

    Some information about my setup:

    I had already installed Flash player, version 11.1.102.63, ActiveX version and plugins (installed in the .msi files, deployed through Active Directory/GPO - no additional configuration, simply .msi original files).

    To test the automatic update feature, I decided to install the 11.2.202.228 new version, but only the ActiveX version. I installed this via the installer .exe (install_flash_player_11_active_x_32bit.exe) manually, choose ' Install updates automatically when they are available (recommended) "in the last step of the installation, as shown here:

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/background-Updater-Windows.html

    When I open Control Panel-> Flash Player, on the 'Advanced' tab I see:

    • "Install updates automatically" is selected but grayed out (without right to admin with this windows user)
    • ActiveX version: 11.2.202.228
    • Plugin version: 11.1.102.63

    The "mms.cfg" under C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\ file contains:

    AutoUpdateDisable = 0

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

    The task of "Adobe Flash Player Updater" has been created and is scheduled to run every hour. I see that it is started ('last start time'), the result code is 0x0, which means "no error".

    So, just as expected. But the automatic update does not work, since the flash player plugin version is never updated!

    I edited the "mms.cfg" and added:

    SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging = 1

    After manually from the task, there are a few lines added to "FlashInstall.log" in the same directory:

    Hi Steve,.

    This error is probably due to the fact that you have selected "Require client certificates" on your Web server. Please untick this and try again. If you still see errors, please post a new log with the error codes after you make this change.

    Hello

    I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
    If you have installed a security software on the computer, then I suggest you try to disable temporary and check to see if the same problem happens. Make sure that you enable security software back once the diagnosis is made to prevent the computer from virus attacks.

    Method 2:
    Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

    NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that you reset the computer in start mode normal such as suggested in step 7 of the above article.

    It will be useful.

  • Automatic update fails with error #16824

    I just deployed a new version of my app and AutoUpdate updates fail with the dreaded #16824 error.

    uithinez.png

    However, I have not upgraded my SDK between releases, nor I have changed anything in my other than the version numbers update.xml. And the build and deploy process is automated, so that should not have changed either. What could be going on here?

    Old update.xml:

    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
     <update xmlns='http://ns.adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/1.0'>
       <version>2.1.22</version>
       <url>http://ramp.leancoder.com/client/downloads/ramp.air</url>
    </update>

    New update.xml:

    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
     <update xmlns='http://ns.adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/1.0'>
       <version>2.1.26</version>
       <url>http://ramp.leancoder.com/client/downloads/ramp.air</url>
    </update>

    The two versions were built with:

    $bin/adt -version
    adt version "2.0.2.12610"

    This error, in this case, is the result of a self-signed certificate has expired.

    Generate a new certificate and using the "adt - migrate" command (description here) solved the problem.

    I have a Linksys router firewall between my pc and my ISP cable.  Tried to pick up what are the ports to be opened on the router but did not have luck to find on this site or any other site of microsoft.

    If you are suggesting that I connect my pc directly to update this is not a valid solution, and I won't.

    If you have migrated from Windows XP to Win7, it was a custom (advanced option) install (clean install of AKA) for any application security that were installed when you use Windows XP cannot have any effect here.

    Note: If you do not have a third-party firewall installed, you should never (it takes) to disable the Windows Firewall.

    You mention a router: the behavior persists if bypass you the router completely and connect directly via the modem?

    PS: Despite what the article says this APPLIES to of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 , the difficulty is compatible with Win7. launch the difficulty mode by default and aggressive , if necessary.
