Simulating a hand-drawn illustration

Hello! Does anyone have ideas how to simulate the following image drawn by hand with Illustrator brushes and fills?

The situation would be... someone would create a new vector drawing (i.e., a reference to the photo) with outlines and fillings. With a few easy steps, it should be able to turn it into a vector drawing that looks like this style. It should be easy to do... maybe 2 or 3 as follows. It might also work with modules or plug-ins or something (should work with CS4 upward). Any ideas? Thank you very much for your help in advance!

I don't know if there is a plugin to transform a fill in traits. I tried blends between paths with effect to scratch like a more automated to create a pattern of lines and then expanded their and manually hit the edges and inside with the tool eraser to make it look less uniform, but I don't like how it looks compared to manually make some designs freehand with the artistic brush (at the bottom of the image) who also took less than dealing with the approach of mixture. So, if it's me I would just do it by hand.

  • Effect of hand drawn

    Hello world

Does anyone know if there is a plugin/extension for Photoshop nc6 that allows you to create an effect similar to hand drawn as the example attached?

    hand-drawn-sketch-of-a-lion-vector-987915.jpg

I'd be surprised if you find a filter or a plugin that will do it automatically, because of the clever way that the strokes follow the appropriate angles.  You could certainly prepare the original image so as to make the easier to apply squiggles/hand-drawn lines, but it will go down to apply some drawing skills.

  • Troubleshooting of hand drawn Animation (image)

I am after several tutorials for an effect of the end of a hand or writing tool that seems to draw a picture. I try to have the hand pull the image of first taking the photo and using an edge effect and followed it with the pen tool. However, I have a few problems with it so far, namely:

    1. I vectorize the image I want drawn using the edge effect. I copy the mask produced from tracing and then paste in the keyframe of the position of my hand computer. The problem here is that it masks the section of my hand.

2 get the hand to follow the mask created on the image path. The alternative in the video tutorials for this type of effect often manually keframes the hand in position. I was hoping that the mask path by pasting in the hand position keyframes, it would automatically follow the drawing.

Please see the image below as an illustration (click to enlarge), thanks for your time

    smileyface_comp2.jpg

You paste the masks in the layer and not in the position of the layer property.  Make a first keyframe to the position, highlight and paste into the first mask; It will come in with a default duration of 2 seconds.  Go beyond the last keyframe pasted in, making an another position keyframe, highlight and paste in the following mask... and so on.

Carefully consider the sequence in which you paste these masks.  And get ready for a large number of keyframes to get the timing right.

  • Cartoon / hand drawn filter possible?

Hi motion graphics / illustration experts!

I am working on a project where I want to create a simple cartoon style effect in a piece of footage and wondered how would be the best way to create something like this (reference): Watch Bleacher Report UK vine "today 10 years ago, Liverpool were about to lose the FA Cup final until... #Gerrard '

I would like to hand-draw the sequences, but the only problem I have is that my client has more than 50 clips they want to create "convert" in the animated cartoon style shorts short line.
The film is a mix of action sequences, and nothing can be "re-shot" on green screens, etc., that there is no budget essentially (obviously).

What would advice everyone to approach such a project?

Is there any good custom or built in plugins in After Effects, which could help me to achieve this type of look?

    Thanks in advance!

    Robbie.

There is a variation of ToonIt included as part of the universe of the red giant, too, if I'm not mistaken.

After effects has a cartoon included also.

Whatever you use, you may need to change the settings to get the look that you're looking for and you may need to do some color correction effects quite involved in the cartoon effect to get the lines where you want MUCH. For example, if you get raccoon eyes, you may need to track movement of the eyes with a levels effect to brighten them so that the cartoon effect gives you the lines instead of black holes.

You can also duplicate your film, blurred at the top layer and give it to darken (or multiply, I forget which) and it will look a little pictorial.   Then you can add some edges to it with the find edges effect or a cartoon effect. I mean, you can't have steak on a hamburger budget, then they will have to make compromises.

Another alternative would be making your own cartoon with effects of Posterization effect, find the effects of edges, and stuff piled on each other with the adjustment of the colors below.

  • How to describe the hand drawn type made of multiple shots?

I created a logo for a few friends of the family and the main part of the logo is drawn by hand, and it consists of several (a TON) of shots. The society becomes t-shirts made, and the t-shirt company contacted me to get a "vector file with the described fonts." I know very well how about fonts for real, but have no idea how to sketch a series of blows. Help! Thank you!

Instead of features, looks like you have a huge amount of filled paths hanker to get united.

Select all, go in the Pathfinder Panel and apply together.

  • Using Illustrator for accurate drawings

    Hi guys,.

If anyone has any advice for the questions that I have below it would be greatly appreciated. I know that all of the methods of work are different, but I'm having a hard time getting these answered despite the amount of redundant to information on Adobe products

    (1) when I see professional logos or type forms (I mean companies) and especially the curves are perfect. Is it possible to do that? It's pixel perfect. This reminds me of design with the old methods of the circle and french curves.

    (2) is it possible to get assistance with diagnol lines (so points on the same angle), curve precision from one point to another diagonly? I know that you can use the grid and then use move the handles by a amount of pixel, but making one side of the

object is thick like another part?

    (3) I think typography is a great example and I have provided a below. Even after that sure that I know all the tricks to anchor manages, ect it's almost impossible to get a same curve width or serif.

The image below shows a letter h and higher wheel base has been cut and illustrated by points.

Thank you very much for the tips, pointers, or how work the other industry insiders!

    Pen_tool.jpg

Illustrator is not a pixel based drawing software.  It is a vector path based on drawing software.  You should get to know the differences.  It is possible to make extremely accurately.  But, you must master the drawing tools and your ability to manipulate paths and anchor points.  I recommend that you give up your mouse for a tablet.  I would like to answer each of your questions:

    1. Yes.  Most of the text is policy based and then converted to outlines later in the production chain.  Curves are drawn more big and then reduced in size further down the production chain, like the old days.

    2. get used to order > operation M (travel) and duplication.  If you want a certain angle, use the tool rotation and entered the amount of degrees of your rotation in the rotation dialog box.  Like many other things in Illustrator, there are several ways of doing things.  You will learn more you use.

    3. the sample that you show has consistency very little because it is a script font.  But, if you draw a letter in his hand, you can use simple ovals and squares to help you maintain consistency.  For example, if your letter article is 1/16 "thick, create a rectangle 1/16" square and use it as a guide.  There are a lot of simple tools that you can use to help you.

Do not forget this.  A good hand drawn text element can take hours, or even days to complete.  The software is not a solution where automated you a magic wand on the screen and the wha - la,'s done it.  Very rarely designers do not have to resort to hand-drawn text elements.  There are fonts than ever before.  In some cases, you can use a font for a quick start and then change some letters for everything that calls for your project.

I created this degenerate randomly "bitmap" degraded by hand in Illustrator. I want to reproduce the effect to fill in the spaces of dimensions different, but don't have to do it by hand every time. Any ideas?random grid gradient.jpg

Create a gradient of gray. (Note the proportions of file)

Convert black and white file (bitmap) using diffusion dither

    Place (embed) in Illustrator

Then use object > object mosaic on it (using proportions of file as pixel size)

  • How to animate pushing in the face of the shape (photos)

    Hi people,

I'm quite new to After Effects.  I'm trying to achieve an effect where I have a triangle and then inside the area of this triangle, another triangle gets drawn.  Then the face of this new triangle gets pushed into the deepest simulating the shape.  I mocked basically place this as my before and after the idea is to use sketchup, but I don't know how to do in aftereffects.  Any help or pointers to tutorials that do this kind of thing would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

If you try to reach this goal as a 3-d object you must use C4D lite or maybe same Blender (blender.org). If you just want to simulate 3D, you can simply animate layers and shape paths or create your 3D artwork that is simulated as a layered Illustrator file and create your animation separately.  Or the other technique will require a study on how to use the tools.

Here's what fake 3D with shape layers might look like:

I reorganized the workspace so you can see the properties changed and animated of shape layers. Here is the ASP for the project.

Dropbox - fake 3d Triangle.aep (Note: your browser may add a .txt extension to the file ASP.) Just remove it and you should be able to open it.

  • Import of sequences of images to adapt to 1080 p video layer

Very new to Photoshop and Lightroom so forgive me if it's made clear... but I exported hand drawn animation of images from Lightroom and their import in the form of sequences of image in Photoshop and can't seem to get the right size to fit the preset HD1080p video layer. I exporting photos from Lightroom to the same 1920 x 1080 pixel dimensions and the sequence of images always comes out smaller than the size of the canvas. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

OK, the thing is this - when you export your image from Lightroom, you have it set on "Resize to fit" 1920 x 1080. This means that the image will be enlarged or shrunk as much the current report width / height image (no stretch) to fit in the dimensions list. Apparently, your image isn't "in shape" 1920 x 1080. It appears to be from a camera, which probably has a 4:3 aspect ratio. Lightroom is not crop or stretch the image, it just enlarges or reduces evenly so that it fits in the dimensions.

To solve the problem, go to the Lightroom Develop Module and choose the Crop Tool (R). Then, change the size of the harvest up to 1920 x 1080 (16: 9), and you will see immediately that part of your image will have to be trimmed to fit the desired shape:

Once your image is cut in the shape of 16:9 aspect ratio, the export will completely fill the frame and images will be the full 1920 x 1080 as you hear it.

I can see your illustrations you might be sacrificing some important parts of the image to crop. It's a sad reality while you work in different proportions. It is always profitable start your work with the image format you want to use for the final production - if you know in advance what will be.

  • Need help on behalf of Adobe

I apologize in advance for posting this in a Photoshop forum, but even if I searched on the site several times, I've seen a general forum or a forum dealing with accounts. Before posting, I called Adobe 1-800 customer service number only to be told no telephone customer service. Then I tried the cat and the rep he said it (couldn't say the name) help me and referred me to the forum for help.

My software works very well. I use a number of products all current CS6 to running on a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion.

My problem is that I got several accounts Adobe. Some of my software has been registered under the same account and some under the other account. I wanted that these accounts will be consolidated so that my record of software (purchases and record) would be correct. At this stage I can't access or the other of these accounts, so I wonder if they have been deleted. Recently I had to change a password in order to transfer the remaining Dollar Photo downloads Adobe stock photos. I did a few weeks ago. So today I couldn't log in at all even if I had carefully copied and pasted my password safe course. So, I managed to change this password today. When I logged on this account, things do not appear like in my old accounts and there is no trace of a purchase history or recording. So who all was abolished? I'm conceded that if the future updates are based on the software that I have there is no records... no way to prove what I have bought in the past... at least no trace that I am able to see. If these other accounts have been deleted? If so, I don't care to their topic. I won't be able to install my CS6 software that I currently run on my laptop MacBook Pro also to my iMac desktop computer. A telephone customer service representative had once told me that I have been authorized by the license to install on a desktop computer and a laptop computer. I have the serial numbers for the software but no CD or DVD because the software provided with your laptop used Mac. So really my software works very well. I want to just make sure I can install this software on my iMac, too, and that if any future upgrade price depends on my Adobe purchase history this is a record of it. A few times I bought the software in a physical box but in at least one case, I bought a download.

My second question relates to copyright. I am currently working on a book for sale. To create the book I was using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Of course, if the book is on sale, it's a commercial product. It's a book coloring with drawings in which I have incorporated certain custom forms provided with the Adobe software (not something more that I have bought). I'm also using the Helvetica font. I want to just make sure that I will not violate the copyright by using this font or the custom shapes in my creations, which also have my drawings hand drawn also.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Marcia

This theme has information about the accounts. I hope it will be useful to you.

    Manage your Adobe ID account

Regarding the issue of copyright, it is acceptable to use the Helvetica font. The ReadMe file provided with the software Adobe has this information:

  • Operating instructions for the flying Cubes?

Hi, can someone give advice on how / where a tutorial is for the next idea?

I would like to create cubes 3D (possibly with a hand-drawn aesthetic) flying in a group. The idea is that the Group of cubes swoop and flies like a bird.

Is it possible in After Effects or is it more a cinema 4 d / 3Ds MAX project type?

    Thank you!

You can create cubes in AE using 6 squares 3D solid or shape layers, parent layers for a 3D no and then fly the autour null in a 3D space. You can also create cubes and add textures in C4D lite, do driving around the animation in the 3D application. If you want to add the swarming of behavior like a flock of birds using certain automatic behaviors and you are on a budget, then using a 3D opensource as Blender (http://www.blender.org) application will give you a bunch of tools. I think you want to make a single object of that kind of looks like a bird with a bunch of cubes, some for wings and maybe a few others for the body, and then to rig the cubes on 'bones' so that you can create wings will require complete application 3D as Blender or the version of complete C4D because C4D lite has a very limited tool set. All 3D approach will require some textures or tweaking or plug-ins to simulate hand-drawn effect.

If you want a look designed to hand and you have some rudiments of drawing and want to learn the technique of cell animation then you can hand draw cells in Illustrator or Photoshop or same æ and then doing 2D animation there. There are a few software solutions to make animations drawn by hand, including Flash Professional (which is provided with a subscription to the CC), but there is no open source apps I know dedicated to hand-drawn animation techniques. Commercial applications run from a few dollars to a few thousand. Good technique depends on your skills and your experience, the time available yo got work on the project and what you want the project looks like when it's done.

The best way to make a cube from 3D layers must compensate for the z value of the anchor of the same value as X and Y, then rotate the multiple faces of 90 ° 5. For example, suppose you want a cube that is 600 pixels high. Here is a step by step.

    1. Create a new publication using the settings of composition standard square pixels (HDTV 1080 29.97 for example) which is quite long to include the entire shot, you try to create
    2. Select the rectangle tool
    3. Select the fill and stroke to use
    4. While holding down the SHIFT key to draw a shape of rectangle anywhere in the model
    5. Press U twice to reveal all the modified properties of the rectangle
    6. You should see something like this:
    7. Set the size of the Rectangle traced 1 to 600, 600
    8. Reset the position to transform Rectangle 1 0.0 to center the rectangle in the composition Panel
    9. Click the Add button to the right of the shape 1 layer content and add paths to squirm and make some adjustments to give your cube glimpses caught something like this:

  • Press the a button to reveal the anchor point of the shape layer
  • Make the layer 3D shape
  • The anchor point must be 0,0,0 (Note: If you use a solid 600 X 600 300, 300, 0 is the anchor point)
  • 1-way Rectangle as 600, 600, that you'll want to set the z value for the anchor point to the half of the width of the rectangle then adjust the anchor of layer 0, 0, 300
  • Duplicate the layer of the form 5 times
  • Select all 5 layers and press the r key to reveal the orientation and rotation of each layer property
  • Let the shape 1 layer to the default rotation value
  • Rotation 90 ° 2 layer shape in there, 180º 3 shape layer in there, 270º 4 shape layer in there, shape layer 5 90º in x, and 270 ° 6 layer x shape so watch the layers like this:

  • Add a null value to the composition and make 3D null and name Cube 1
  • The value null is now at the center of the global space of composition and 6 layers as a group are arranged around the null value
  • Make sure that the Parent column turns in the time line (make it visible by right-clicking in the column name bar)
  • Press r or u close the layer properties, and then select all shape layers and set the parent to 1 Cube and then lock the shape layers, so your timeline looks like this:
  • Now, you can animate the position and rotation and adjust the scale of the null value to control your cube. Add a 3D camera and have fun.
    v
  • To set up a herd of these cubes or build a body unlock all layers and start duplicating. [The best way to do that is to select all six shape layers, press Ctrl/Cmnd + d then Ctrl/Cmnd +] to move duplicates to the top and repeat. When you have made all the copies that you want to lock the camera layer, press Ctrl/Cmnd + a to select all layers, hold down Ctrl/Cmnd key and select all the controllers of null and shy then all layers form like this:
  • Click the shy skin layers third icon from the left at the top) and you have only your cube controllers to animate. Now, you can size, scale parent animated and even these together to create your bird like this:
  • This should give you an idea of the creation of a bird in flight in AE. Personally, I would probably use Blender or the full version of C4D, then import the project into AE to the final composition. Mixer has some large shader effects drawn by hand and it is much more easy to rig and animate an element like a bird.
