Simulator of 9800 went

I use Eclipse with the java plugin from blackberry.

My Simulator 9800 missing from the list of available in eclipse simulators. I tried to uninstall the Simulator and put it back, nothing will do. 9800 Simulator works fine in JDE.

Is there some sort of settings file that maybe being corrupted in the eclipse plugin somewhere that I can edit or delete?

I tried to remove a few settings files which doesn't seem to work.

Would rather not uninstall/install eclipse repeatedly.

I deleted the eclipse, ran a new facility and even the custom of simulator of 9800 see!

Guess that's a problem with JDE which I never even run

could not know, I uninstalled JDE and reinstalled everything from scratch, his works now...

  • Bug? Torch 9800 does not change its orientation to a tilt

    Hi all

I'm trying to debug the landscape and I can't make it work properly.

It turns out that my resize() method is never called because

I check for orientation change, and it's always the portrait.

No matter how I tilted it (in the Simulator).

I use the Simulator for 9800.

When I use the 9500 Simulator, a tilt changes orientation.

    Anyone see this?

    Bug?

Customer wants this to work, but appears broken on 9800.

    Thank you!

If the keyboard is open, then the device is locked in portrait mode.  You must close the keyboard to test it in the Simulator and the device.

  • Question of BBM SDK Simulator

    Hello

I am facing a problem with the SDK of BBM 1.0beta.

I followed the Quick Start Guide to install it.

    The MDS Simulator works well.

The 6.0.0.313 Simulator works well also.

I imported net_rim_bb_qm_platform.jar into my workspace jde.

Point 3.8 says I need to use the Simulator profile 9800 - 6.0.0.313 to compile my project, but I can't find it in the Simulator profile drop-down list.

What I am doing wrong? Can you help me please?

    Thank you

    Laurent

If I copy the SimPackage - 6.0.0.313_9800.rc in the folder where I installed the Simulator in the JDE\bin folder, I can select from the drop of the JDE... and fix my app on the Simulator...

Now my app to app hangs in the Simulator! Cool; (o)

  • icon does not appear in the Simulator

    Hi all

I developed a Java midlet application in Blackberry file in Eclipse 3.6.0 and it works Simulator Blackberry 9800. However, the icon that appears in the Simulator is a default icon for BB but not the icon that I have included in the res img file. I tried with several sizes of icon as 80 x 80, 68 x 68, 48 x 36. but my icon still does not appear in the Simulator.

I would like to have some advice from you on how to correct the situation.

    Best regards

It is desirable for the application icon size please use this same size

    1) took 2 pictures of the same size and just change the name (image.png and image_rollover.png) and keep it in res folder

    (2) open the App discriptor.xml add two images checked roll it on the image

    (3) save it and clean up the Simulator and run it.

  • Problems with a HelloWorld test Simulator application curve 8520 and curve 8520 device

    Hello

I need to develop an app for blackberry and the only device I have to test the app is a curve 8520.

I made a HelloWorld to know the process better.

My HelloWorld works very well in the simulator of 9800, but in the curve 8520 Simulator does not work very well (the app appears but I think it works well). And the worst thing is that if I try to import the app for curve 8520 camera I get an error.

I am new in BlackBerry dev and java, but I think that my problem is probably that I'am working with jre 6.0.0 and curve are only supported jre 5.0.0.

I don't know if this is the meaning, I don't know which is the problem.

    any help would be great

    Tanks you much

You'll target a lowe OS level - impossible comiple 6.0 and deploy on 5.0 (for example). JDE level must be to, or lower than the level target OS.

  • Icon in the Simulator, no icon on Blackberry

    Hi all

I recently started to enter the development of BB.

I have installed the JDK, JDE, etc. and created found here simple HelloWorld example:

    http://www.DevX.com/wireless/article/27869/0/page/1

I then tested the device Simulator, and everything went well.  I could see the icon and launch the program.  Great!

Then, I wanted to test it on my Rogers BB Bold new with 4.6.0.125.  I installed the program via a JAD file, which worked.

However, I have no icon to launch the program, as I did in the Simulator!  I looked everywhere and I can't find him.

    Any ideas?

    Additional info:

If I look in Options > Advanced > Applications, my program is here.  However, if I try delete, it does nothing.

With the help of 4.5.0.7 and j2sdk 1.4.2_18 JDE

When I created an ALX and tried to install via the BB Desktop Manager, I get the error message: no additional applications designed for your device were found.

    Thank you!

Quickly to the answers to some of your questions:

First you should run a level more later from Java to the JDE 4.5.  See:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/developers/downloads/JDE.jsp

I would recommend that you upgrade your Java, although in this case, I'm not sure it's important.  So I don't think this will solve your problem.

Regarding your alx, unless you have installed the latest Office Manager (4.6) or an operating system for your device, you can load via the application loader.  Two possible corrections.  You can update the Devices.xml file to include the "BOLD" or to download and install DM 4.6.

Here you can download the Desktop Manager 4.6:

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

However, these proposals will not help with your you see is not the icon.  I assume you looked in the downloads for it?

Can I suggest that you download something on the Web and see if it works correctly - which will help us to work if the problem is with your BB or your Application.

  • How to display the javascript error in the Simulator?

Hi, I have experience several problem in developing countries using webwork.

I use Blackberry webwork in plugin eclipse to develop the program, my Simulator is 9800 6.0.0.337.

I have the problem when I try to load his PIN and file reading / writing.

    var pin = blackberry.identity.PIN;

The example of read/write file I copied directly from the code sample download in Blackberry.com.

Two of them does not work. I want to use try {} catch (err) {} to warn of the error, but this return "undefined" for me.

Is this something that I forget to install?

Sorry cannot any more help because I think that most of these functions does not work on the playbook Simulator

(in your case test you on smartphone where I would expect most APIs to work..)

    Last try if...

Check the following line in your code example:

    var blob = blackberry.utils.stringToBlob(filecache);

    who do not:

    var blob = blackberry.utils.stringToBlob(textarea);

    ?

    Kind regards

    H.

PS: regarding the playbook Simulator the following are suspect - i.e., don't think they work:

    blackberry.utils.stringToBlob (somestring)
    blackberry.utils.documentToBlob (somedoc)

    blackberry.identity.getDefaultService)
    blackberry.identity.PIN

  • Creation of Application Simple Webworks - remote URL for loading problem

Hi, I'm looking for this example:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Web-and-WebWorks-development/creating-your-first-application-...

But I'm not able to load the remote URL.

I am able to load the local file perfectly, but whenever I try to load a remote URL, I got:

Local Connection Timed Out after ~ 120000

I tried different ways to load a remote URL (via a simple link HTML, javascript, and Ajax)

With the help of my config file:

I also tried various configurations of subdomains and uri.

    I use the Simulator for 9800 6.0.0.534

I really don't know what could be the problem. Could be my installation of the SDK Webworks? It is a kind of permission?

    BR

If you are running on Simulator, then you must also run the MDS Simulator. Without it, our web browser in the Simulator won't work either.

You can configure your debug configuration in Eclipse to automatically start the MDS Simulator when you launch the debugger.

  • How to detect the movement of components in PaneView event?

    Hi, there! ~

At first please let me explain what is my development environment, I am develping apps based on BlackBerry JRE 6.0.0 by Eclipse and I'm debugging my apps on Simulator (BlackBerry 9800, 6.0.0.706) and peripheral (BlackBerry 9900, 7.1.0.912)

I'm starting a new application which is a multifunction, during the wake I want to use a new layout UI for me, I've already imported from the code named "PaneManagerDemo" example and I built a framework in my application, I initialized TitleView as HorizontalScrollableTitleView and add titles and content.

I also used a UI component custom named "ListStyleButtonField" come from the official web site of blackberry, once all the ListStyleButtonField of accumulated height exceeds the height of the content field, which cause the ListStyleButtonField lost her concentration and I do not know the focus was left to the last content topic whose screen slipped to finally make the time.

My question is is it possible to detect the components slide event, I'll focus on the ListStyleButtonField what is the top of the content if I can control this event, please help me to solve this problem, thank you! ~

I already find the method to detect the movement of the pane in PaneViewManager event, by according to this thread How to handle events of TouchGesture

  • Anything obvious that I hope

Well, I feel stupid for having to ask this - but I don't see how to set permissions for approval to test in a simulator (so far the 9700 and 9800).

I refer to the application list, select my application, and press the Menu key.

On my physical device, I see the option "change permissions".

On simulators, I see only "edit default permissions".  "Change permissions" is absent.

I feel as if I had something painfully missing, glaring - but I'm just not see it.    -How do I add/delete permissions to the app on the Simulator, so that I can test my application that behaves correctly in the absence of permissions of devices?

A few photos to show better. In all cases, the same application is selected.  The first is the Simulator; and the second is the real device.

    9800 / OS6 / Simulator

    9800 / OS6 / real device

Indeed, it is obvious--or the less almost obvious.

When you run the Simulator, it is necessary to activate the safety of the device.   Via Eclipse, this is done in the Simulator run configuration tab; There is a checkbox 'enable peripheral security '.

If you use in the batch file, modify the command line to fledge.exe and add the indicator:

    / secure
