Single Instance / PAO and Service availability of premises listener at the JRC

Hello

While doing some failover tests at a client, I noticed the following problem:

(a) 3 RAC Cluster Linux
(b) network 'SERVICE1' with the DTC service = Yes flag (or cardinality = 1)
(c) a listener on each NŒUD

Objective test: make sure that the system survives a failed double earpiece

Test 1:

-SERVICE1 NODE1-pending
-Stop listening on NODE2 and NODE3
= > Result: continued

Test 2
-SERVICE on NODE1
-Stop the Listener on NODE1 and NODE2
= > Result: Application cannot connect to the Instance

MY guess is that the application connects to the listening port on NODE3 and is redirected to the Instance on node 1. However since the listener on NODE1 didn't work, he didn't.

I wonder if we miss all the parameters inside the FCAC to make the failover service when its local listener is not registered or if it should be monitored by the dishes of cluster.

I rememer there were some recommendation on the use of two earphones on each node in the presentation of some of the Ora best practice, but I can't find a description of this more.

Any opinnions?

(Note: I am aware that this is less a problem for nodes multiple services and no problem for complete machine failure).
(Note 2: I don't know if it is a question of RAC or RAC Installation, so forgive my ignorance, if I used the wrong forum)

Ah, I understand now. Yes, the cluster is failover if it's just the listener that is inaccessible - it responds to the event of default instance only. Lose your headset without losing the entire node is probably quite rare, so I guess that you would need some kind of oversight that pick up and draw attention. Although I have to admit that in my many years of management of RAC databases I know never the listener down on its own.

    I use between three computers (1-Win7 Pro x 64 single monitor, 1-WinXP Pro x 86 two monitors, 1-WinXP Home x 86 single monitor) and a single keyboard and mouse. It works fine for me, I used it for over a year without any problems. The Win7 Pro and WinXP Pro have both run several virtual machines too.

    This discussion refers to the maintenance and Service of Guide (M & SG), not the user's Guide. The latter is delivered with the product while the former is located on the HP website.

    The SG & M I found on line was published in April 2010 and does not refer to the 3D features. In addition it does not refer to hard drives more than 1 TB, while my system came with a 1.5 TB hard drive. Finally, I think that my version of the HP Envy 17 3D has come on the market after April 2010 because the original system BIOS (F.07) in the system date was February 2011 (which I've since upgraded to the system BIOS F.15.)

    So is there an edition more recent (April 2010) as the SG & m for the HP Envy 17 - i7 2090nr 3D? And if there is, where can I find it?

    Hello

    Rupture can occur in any level

    1 oracle FailSafe with SAN?

    --> Do check if you have failure in storage, your security will do nothing to bring back data

    --> Seen failsafe, will be only the insurance when MS cluster moving the disc and services to different node, configured services starts.

    2. What is the security integrated on linux centos/oel solution?

    --> Under linux, you need to set the scripts to run, and you can check the option on the cluster OS

    3. If the storage is on the San (for example) then it is possible to configure a shell script that detects if data source is down for 5 minutes, mount SAN stored the files of database on the remote computer and

    change the ip in the application, so it will never connect to the source ip address

    --> This you will get a cluster of BONES...

    Points to note:

    ================

    --> If there is power failure sudden, we can expect there may be lost writing in your data block, which will bring the inconsistency to your data file and redo

    --> Here, there is problem with your drive?

    --> If there is problem with your complete domain controller (how will you mount FS to a remote server?)

    Note what we are discussing was HA and you try to keep an idle server all the time (you have a server with more RAM & CPU)

    Why you can't check an option of CARS, can also have the cluster extension...

    And to avoid the loss of data and to meet the RPO and RTO in all time (same DC came down, storage failure, server crash), you may need to use Oracle data guard...

  • DEV and quality assurance within the oracle single instance

    We have our DEV and QA in a single instance of oracle. Scripts that refer to table in DEV names will be copied on to QA DEV quality assurance tests for unit tests at the end. DEV, extract us data from 5 source systems, one for each State of the United States, which use the same application, so the names of the source tables are identical, and so in our staging area we have a scheme by the State such as TX, GA, MD and we extract data in tables that are identical to the staging tables. As cross us the aggregation state our scripts should refer to TX.employee and GA.employee in the same sql statement.

    What is the best design for this using SCHEMAS, DATABASES VIRTUAL PRIVATE, VIEWS, SYNONYMS etc.?

    Thank you in anticipation

    Just for my knowledge, if I found myself in this situation of VIRTUAL PRIVATE databases would make sense here?

    I guess that you could possibly use VPD. But it would create major problems if you have always wanted to make schema changes - you could not add a new column to a table in DEV, for example, without this column is also available in AQ. You could not have code in DEV that does not exist in QA. I guess you could really get fancy and use g 11 edition redefinition to have an edition of dev and qa edition but I wouldn't think how to promote prod code in this kind of environment. In addition, editions is a characteristic of the company (at least, I'm not sure if it is an extra cost option) which would tend to be beyond the solvency of the company trying to save on licensing costs by combining dev & qa in a single server non - VM (and even less in the same instance).

    You may have your application use any dynamic SQL so that dev could use the DEV_TX while QA scheme used the QA_TEX schema and it was only the schema of TX in prod, but that obviously never gets old very quickly. You can create a single set of synonyms the synonym TX_FOO points to DEV_TX. FOO for users of dev and TEST_TX. FOO for test users, but then you will have to remove qualifiers to schema of all your SQL queries.

    In short, an application like you describe trying to share an instance would be a pretty massive undertaking.

  • Configuring multiple services in a single instance database

    Dear all,

    I would like to create names from multiple services for a single instance oracle database (10.2.0.3 on IBM - AIX 6.1). I tried to search on the net, read the documentation, as well as on the metalink but couldn't find something relevant to the single instance database.

    Say I have two users, userA and UserB, for which I would like to use the two services (ServA and ServB) to connect to the same database to single instance.

    Any help in this direction is appreciated.

    Concerning

    ALTER system set service_name = 'ServA, ServB. '

    in your tnsnames.ora to designate either service_name = "ServA" or service_name = 'ServB.

    It is very difficult to believe that you can't find this in the documentation, and my suspicion is that you it didn't look at all.

  • How to make a single instance of the application regardless of the main application and the other entry point for the application

    Hello experts,

    I explain the sceniro of my application. My request is mainly a time system as well as some other features related businesses. My app has a landing screen which is actually a custom made calendar that accumulates information captured time. There is also a time where entry screen user at will has worked time and other related information. The user has the option to run the application manually at the entrance of the time and see the reports and there the event listener to follow the events of call/SMS/e-mail that invokes the application automatically and user to the scree of time entry.

    Problem one: I used headphones to follow the events of call/SMS/e-mail. When an event is called, alternet point of entry of the application the application is running. Application then get calls time, contact information etc. and push my entry screen with pre-filled information time.

    As such, it works very well, as expected, but the problem is the number of instence that he is creating. Each track event creates a new instance of the application. I want to keep only one instance.

    Two problems: to solve this problem, I removed the other point of entry and RuntimeStore to keep the running instance of my application. This instance of the application in a way keeps in singletone as such when the listener calls the application it finds that the application is running in the background. Then she moves the application to the foreground. It works very well, I mean the application user interface called on the foreground, but he won't have to time entry screen automatically as I hope. The block of code is as follows,

    public static final long applicationID =0x8ddc44508679bd5bL;
    static NSIApplication NSIInstance=null;
    RuntimeStore runtimeStore = RuntimeStore.getRuntimeStore();

    if (NSIInstance != null)
                {
                    NSIInstance.requestForeground();
                }
                else
                {
                    synchronized (runtimeStore)
                    {
                        NSIInstance = (NSIApplication)runtimeStore.get(applicationID);
                                            //listener initialization
                        NSIListener.Initialze();
                    }

                    if (NSIInstance != null)
                    {                   NSIInstance.requestForeground();
                                        //event's info manipulation and push the time entry screen                                     NSIInstance.RUN_NSIApplication();
                    }
                    else
                    {
                        NSIInstance=NSIApplication.getInstance();
                        NSIInstance.RUN_NSIApplication();

                        synchronized(runtimeStore)
                        {
                            runtimeStore.put(applicationID, NSIInstance);

                    }

    I expect a guideline to follow so that I can reach the expected my workflow. Thanks in advance

    I can't propose to use the runtimestore to store instances of the application, as it was used on an example RIM, he has never worked for me.

    I suggest to use a single point of entry and the automated screen using a global event or status in the runtimestore.

  • ORA-01078 and LRM-00109 after I installed a single instance of 12 c

    Hello

    I configured a database with dbca as single instance on a server Linux with Oracle GI 12.1.0.2 6 Oracle and Oracle DB 12.1.0.2 with power supply of January 2015. So not CBD or so. Installation runs without any problem.

    LRM-00109: could not open the parameter file ' / usr/local/oracle/product/12.1.0.2/dbs/initmyhr12D.ora'

    So I looked for it in the directory. I found the file, but it was created with big letters:

    It's funny! I know, I just ove, but is - it an official bug in 12.1.0.2, when I create a database and gives the SID in large letters the dbca creates the file init.ora with big letters but tries to load it with small letters? Not very well I think...

    Hi guys,.

    I already have 4 node RAC12c installed on OLE 6.

    I'm planing on some of my other 12 single instance databases on other migration for RAC nodes.

    Please correct me here if I am wrong...

    My understanding is that, to be able to use DBCA or rconfig for conversion of database instance RAC, the only instance and RAC cluster must run on the same server or machine node.

    Thanks to this understanding... Am planing on the installation of a binary single instance on one of my cluster node node1 say and then use RMAN to duplicate the single instance or just an RMAN restore from the node of the instance that is unique to this node1. Am capable of this plan must then use DBCA or rconfig to convert the CARS database.

    Now, my question is can I run a single instance and RAC on the same server for different homes with different database ports?

    2. for these unique instance that runs on the server RAC 1 node, can I use the RAC database listener that runs from the House of the grid or I have to create another auditor?

    Thank you in advance and also let me know if I can use DBCA or rconfig when the only instance and rac database are on separate nodes.

    K

    Fix. And that's what I would normally do. In general, I would have just an ORACLE_HOME directory that can be used by the punctual and RAC databases at the same time.

    See you soon,.
