Siri anomalies;

Hello

A few days ago, I used Siri to identify a song by shazam but suddenly became crazy by starting the player of music without reason and without that I asked!

I asked of saying me that the song was!

This will be a bug?

Siri is good but not perfect, he probably misunderstood your request. Happens to me. If it happens again try a forced reboot. Hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If Siri is not available, or do not understand or answer questions

Before you try the following steps, make sure that your camera works with Siri. After each step, see if Siri works.

    1. Make sure that your iOS device has an Internet connection via Wi - Fi or cellular data.
    2. On your iOS device, make sure that Siri is enabled in settings > general > Siri.
    3. Restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
    4. On your iOS device, go to settings > general > Siri and turn off Siri. Then turn on again.
    5. If you use an iOS device, try to use Siri with headphones. If Siri works if you are using a headset, get help with microphones on your device.
    6. Contact Apple support.

If Siri does not make a noise when you press and hold the Home button

On your iPad or iPod touch, Siri sounds when it's time to ask a question. If you have an iPhone with iOS 9 or later, Siri begins to vibrate in place. You will hear only the ringtone on your iPhone with iOS 9 or later, when you use headphones.

Siri also sounds when you use "Hey Siri" on an iOS device 9.

  • SIRI A PRIVACY RISK?

We learned earlier this year that Toshiba had probably a fault his ' voice command TV that once activated not only listening microphone orders presented, but in fact could and transmitting sounds, voices, conversations for Toshiba...   I have Siri also a security risk?  Just curious, because we lost so much freedom of privacy already of course, we do not want to add to that, gladly... and of course was not interested in inviting Big Brother into our home...

    Any ideas?  Thoughts?

  • Siri does not not on iMac

I recently installed Sierra on my iMac and you encounter problems with Siri. The main problem is that while Siri is enabled I can't him to hear me. I rechecked the microphone (internal) working and activated, I rechecked Siri is activated, I turned on and outside dictation and I did the same thing with the computer without joy.

I know that the microphone works as it works well with Skype etc, I simply can't Siri to hear me. Help please.

Hey, Siri, if that's how you try to use it, is not supported on Mac. You must enable Siri via the Dock or menu bar icons.

  • HI, Siri would not speak in Italian Luca voice after update for Sierra

HI, why Siri not talk in Italian Luca voice after update to Sierra?

Open (Apple menu) > System Preferences > accessibility > speech.

Next to the system voice menu, select Customize...

Scroll down to Italian, and then select Luca, and then click OK.

It will take a few moments to download the new voice.

  • How do you prevent Siri to send text messages?

My children told me just show a problem with my iPhone 6 and Siri:

My phone is locked, my child picks up the phone, press the home button and said "Send by David SMS", Siri let him write a voice message: "what is your social security number?   Siri sends, my other child shows me it seems I just send the message from my iPhone.

David sends what looks like his social security number (it is not, we test all this), and the message appears on my locked iPhone.

So if I left my phone sitting around, everyone could use Siri to do things like this for the information of anyone in my Contacts, even though I have a 6-digit code and fingerprints id put in place.

What settings I need to change on my iPhone 6 to ensure that ever happening?

  • How to disable Hey siri on my apple watchOS3

I don't like the "Hey siri" duel between my Apple Watch S1 and my iPhone 7plus.   "Siri" does not appear on the general framework of the watch and I really don't want this feature on the watch.  Frankly, I don't want any phone or messages on the watch.   How to close "Hey siri" JUST to the lookout.

    Hello

Follow these steps to turn off Hey Siri on your Apple Watch (but not also on your iPhone):

    • On your watch, open (cog icon) settings from the home screen (which is accessible by a simple press on the digital Crown displaying the time on your watch).
    • In settings, go to: general > Siri (scroll down to see this menu option) > disable Hey Siri.

  • Activation of Siri sometimes pauses for iTunes playlist

    Hello

It is an intermittent problem, but if I'm playing music from iTunes (via Airplay, I have not tested this issue with local playback) and I activate Siri, iTunes is paused the music, and then when I'm done with Siri, the music begins to play again.

I thought this might be by design, but it doesn't always happen.

    Someone else?

I've not being updated to Mac OS Sierra still, but I guess this is normal. Same thing happens on the iPhone. You will not be able to hear the responses of Siri with music in the background, and if you play aloud, Siri could start listening to music playing the Mac rather than your voice.

As to why he's inconsistent, not sure. Maybe the Mac of Siri version knows how hard the music is and if she stop to function properly until he listens to or take a break?

  • Sierra of MacOS - Siri cannot make voice calls.

    Hi guys,.

Siri is supposed to be able to make phone calls via the iPhone, the Mac, in the Sierra de MacOS?

Cause I can make phone calls (not the Facetime calls) fine if I use the Facetime on Mac app and click on the phone number, I want to call, or if I take a certain number of Contacts. But if I try to open Siri and make a voice command to "call X", he always tries to do through Facetime. Which means he's trying to make a Facetime call instead of a voice call normal.

Is this a bug or missing feature? Is there a fix or a workaround for it? I wish I could use Siri on my Mac, just as I do on the iPhone.

I observed the same behavior, so I think it's a missing feature.

And page (below) which deals with Siri on Mac shows a command "FaceTime", but not a "Call" command  (As I say, I used the "Call" command and observed the same behavior you did.)

  • How to use FaceTime with Siri

I you would Siri have been able to dial phone numbers using FaceTime, so my question is, is it possible? And if so, how?

    Hey MichaelnAvallone,

Thank you for reaching out to help through Apple Support communities. Looks like you are wanting to make calls FaceTime with Siri. If so, I'd be happy to explain how to make this happen. First, you'll want to press on and hold the Home button or say "Hey Siri" to activate Siri. Then, for example, you can simply say, "make an audio call FaceTime to MOM" and Siri will only start a FaceTime call audio. If you say 'FaceTime Mom' Siri will begin a FaceTime call with video of this contact.

The link below shows the ways to learn how to use Siri.

  • Siri symbol not visible

I have two questions. Having just upgraded to Sierra, the Siri symbol is visible in my Dock but not in the menu on the right. Is there a solution?

Also, I have a symbol in the same menu to the top right which refers to a Canon Printer Utility is no longer installed. When I try to remove it by using cmd + click, it will not 'pop' and disappear. How to get rid of it?

In regards to Siri, go to 'System Preferences' then click on 'Siri' before seeing if "Siri see the menu bar" is checked. This must be checked if you want the symbol of Siri to appear in the menu bar.
