  The problem persists.  I chatted with the tech support and they had me to do what you did.  They have tried to restore my phone completely me, but I refuse.  Too many risky action to solve a problem with their update.  They really need to fix their update.

  I upgraded to Sierra and Siri does not work.  I hear the beep that Siri has been activated but when I speak there is no movement of waveform in the window of Siri, or in other words is not hear me.  When I go to system preferences, according to me, the microphone is hear me when I talk with the bar meter moving as we speak.  I even tried my Bluetooth headset as an alternative source and SIri doesn't always recognize my voice.  Any ideas?

  I had the same question, you must first click on the microphone in the Siri dialog box that should activate your microphone. This has not worked for me immediately so I disabled Siri then activated it again and now it works, good luck.

  Just updated to Sierra of MacOS and I try to use Siri to search for files on my computer and as the title suggests, Siri spitting not files on my external drives (both connected via USB 3 on the back of the iMac). I tried to turn on Siri/off, Spotlight is not all excluded files, I tried signing in/out of my iCloud account. I tried to create a new user account on my Mac (which will not find anything). Permissions on my external hard drive seem ok: read/write is enabled for me, all the world and admin; "ignore permissions" is turned on.

  I'm starting to think that this is a design limitation of the software. Someone else using Siri able to search for files on your external hard drives?

  As near as I can tell, unlike the Finder and Spotlight, search Siri does not check for external drives.

  So, I managed to drop my phone in the toliet. I picked it up as soon as upward and he went. It has na not glitch anything he looked totally fine.   I had my Apple TV hooked up for about a day now (4th gen), but may not know what's going on w/Siri.

  He (she?) hear my questions and requests, but does react with legends titled on-screen. When she responds, there is no real her coming out of the TV.
