Situation of the VM - use suggested default or rather not?

Hi all

When you create a new virtual machine under Windows host operating system, the workstation initially suggests the default virtual computer location that points to the subdirectory on a drive system hard (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\ < username > virtual \My Documents\My Machines\ < guestOSname >). Is it wise to leave this default as is, or rather put the VM files on any other physical hard drive? I just wonder if store all VM files on a completely separate physical disk would significantly improve the performance of the virtual machine performance. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

Ivo

May I ask why do you suggest to create a mount point for my virtual machines in the subdirectory of the directory on a system drive?

a path like C:\machines wil always matches

It can be a mount point to F:\ or a junction to 'M:\my test machines\customer one.

If you often change the disks or move much this arrangement is nice.

Yes - you will notice significant performance gain if you separate the BONES and the VMs on separate disks.

The axes more - hard drives are used at best.

  • Reverse the order use current default values

    Hello

I was working with a labview program tonight and had used the command 'Reset all default' in the menu use to clear all waveforms on my screen.  However, I accidentally chose the command "Make default current values" and can't erase what appears in the waveforms.  I'm sure there is a simple solution to my problem, but I could not understand.  I tried rewiring parts of my diagram didn't exclude graphs of waveform with the hope that the waveforms would leave but realized that the graphics were not wired so nothing would change.  Any help would be appreciated.

Unless you also saved, simply close the VI. If you want to save the VI, then just delete the graphics/charts by right-clicking and selecting data operations > clear chart.

  • HP Envy 15-j139TX: the BIOS using external storage recovery does not work.

My HP Envy 15-j139TX got stuck (frozen) and I force closure by long pressing the power button. I tried to start by pressing the power button, it shows a black screen (display off) and the capslock continues to Flash.

I did research on the problem and discovered that the issue was "the BIOS corruption failure" according to the information on the link below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01732674/

I tried to recover the BIOS using an external storage device by following the instructions at the link below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02693833

But it did not work. The lights keep flashing. I have my files b.SC. thesis on the computer and their need for pronto. (If not my life is pretty well made)

I also couldn't find the files for version 10 of Windows (64-bit) to my laptop, so I tried with one I downloaded from another site and I got a BIOS of Windows 8.1 HP site.

Is there anyway I can fix it soon or get my files as soon as possible. Help, please!

Have you ever updated the BIOS before?

If you have, you should be able to recover the BIOS using the Windows key + key B method.

All holding the key Windows + B button down, press the power button and wait to see if the laptop responds with a message of recovery of the BIOS on screen.

As my wife continued his mastery, I insisted on his recording of his files periodically to our home network NAS.

You can remove the hard drive and connect it to a desktop computer to get the files from it. You can connect the hard drive to a USB to sata cable to connect it to a laptop.   Instructions to access the disk by opening the back door are on page 42 of the maintenance and service guide. The hard drive is part replaceable by the user, so you don't have to worry about voiding the warranty.

You will need at least 256 MB usb key to create a USB rcovery to recover the BIOS with. BIOS update softpaq will offer the opportunity of creating a recovery USB. I used the method on multiple occasions and it worked for me.

  • I can't get Firefox to load my comcast e-mail. I can browse the web using firefox, but it does not load my emails. How can I fix it?

I have a Mac, and I use Firefox for years. Recently, I started having problems loading my emails from Comcast when I use Firefox. I am able to load my mail using yahoo and safari... but not on Firefox. Can I do to solve this problem? I tried to reset firefox several times... at first, it seemed to solve the problem, and then after the first 5 minutes, it was back to my emails does not. So I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled... but no luck in fixing the problem. Any ideas?

try to clear your cache and cookies to see if that solves the problem. Incase it doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete the other files of cookie present as cookies.sqlite - journal in the Firefox profile folder where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

Start Firefox in Mode safe to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

  • How to only show the tiffs grid by default? And not RAW + TIFF.

    Hi guys,.

    I have 2 questions:

    (a) I now have 2 images - a tiff file and a RAW file, so I have twice the number of images showing on my grid, and I would like the default only see tiff and be able to revisit the RAW format when I have to.

    (b) I would also like to convert all my imported files, 5,000 of them to Aperture, to DNG files.

    How to proceed?

    Thank you very much

    Raphael

    (B) you will have to export in the export dialog, select DNG as file extension.

Or you can locate these files on your disk and use the free Adobe DNG converter program to convert to DNG and then in LR import those converted files.

But then, in both cases, you would have 2 sets of the same images. Original RAW and DNG RAW

  • When I hit a link to a page in my directory in code view and I click on the link using live view, it does not to this page.  But if I saw in a browser, it works very well.

When I hit a link to a page in my directory in code view and I click on the link in live mode view, it does nothing.  When I then go to preview in a browser, it works fine.  Can anyone help?

To follow links in Live View mode, hold down the CTRL on Windows or the command key on a Mac key, and then click the link. Clicking on without using the Ctrl/Cmd key simply selects the link in Live View mode.

  • in the life situation, is the flash recovery area used often?

    Hi all

in the life situation, is the flash recovery area used often? or being extinguished?

    What is general practice?

    Thank you

    Andrew

    Andrew,

First that you must answer - what you want to with flash recovery area (FRA). FRA may or may not be used with another technology - flashback database.

    (i) are you using a base of data of flashback (database +, not table or query flashback flashback), i.e. you have lit the flame of the database? If so, you need to use CRF because that's where the FB connect to go.

(ii) If you don't use flashback database, you can, but you don't need to use FRA. FRA can be used for database backups and archived logs archived backups of logs.

I strongly suggest not to use FRA for archived logs. As a corollary, I strongly suggest backups seprating and newspapers archived on separate file systems (and underlying disks), if possible. Don't forget, you can always re-create a lost backup using logs archived. but never an archived newspaper lost. If you have lost journal #345, but all the others to have #346-#1000, it doesn't matter; recovery stops at 345. So imagine put backups and newspapers archived on a single point of failure - you lost two of them.

Therefore, I use different locations for backups and archived logs, somewhat defeat the purpose of the FRA, where both are supposed to go.

Caveat: I do this for all important databases. If a database is not so important, well...

    I hope this helps.

  • Firefox OSX 10.7.5 25.0.1 forces the use of default input source, why?

    Hello

I have not noticed this in previous versions of Firefox, but OSX 10.7.5 25.0.1 version requires the use of the input source by default (e.g. my laptop, instead of the external keyboard connected keyboard).

All other input devices are grayed out in the language & entry drop-down toolbar when the Firefox application is in short. This does not happen with any other application on my desktop.

I think that's the question relates to this subject also:

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/977966?ESAB=a & As = AAQ

    See you soon,.

    Sunkai.

Well, it's a broader issue to do with the question of whether the keyboard drivers that are installed are compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit applications.

Firefox starts in mode 64-bit OSX by default, and if your keyboard drivers are 32-bit only, then this input source is not usable and is grayed out.

Discussion of this for the British provisions can be found here:

    http://www.Gyford.com/Phil/writing/2005/11/20/using_a_british.php#c285152

the British 64 - bit drivers layout can come from here:

    http://Liyang.Hu/OSX-British.XHTML

If you have problems with your own keyboard, with a provision of another country, you will need to find drivers 64-bit for this layout.

  • Can we use Office default memory offline if the customer does not have enough free memory?

Can we use Office default memory offline if the customer does not have enough free memory?

Yes. We can use the parameter offlineDesktopDefaultMemoryScaleupValue jointly with the offlineDesktopReportedHostMemoryValue parameter in the registry.

For example, if your client system has 2 GB of memory and the desktop view is configured to require 2 GB of memory, you won't be able to check the desktop view because low memory is also necessary for visualization of hosted customer.

Use the parameter DesktopReportedHostMemoryValue = 2048 registry offline, so that you can go to the desktop and use the registry parameter offlineDesktopDefaultMemoryScaleupValue = 1024.

so that the desktop view uses only 1 GB of memory when run locally.

    Reg patch: HKCU\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\Client\disableOfflineDesktopMemoryScaleup

Note: If it's a small environment you can do manual. Or we can simplify this activity by creating a group policy.
