Three options.

1: take the corners of the window and drag it to the format full screen. Do not use to expand. Close all other windows first via the taskbar and the latter. Windows will remember the size of the last closed window the next time that you open the program.

2: any shortcut you use to launch the window, right-click, and select Properties. Under the 'Run' drop-down list, choose "expanded".

Windows 8 doesn't remember size and position of the previously open programs

I hope that if there is no solution for this problem, at least it can be taken as feedback on the next update of WIndows 8.

The question is:

I use Windows 7 and WIndows 8 at home to work.

Now, Windows 7 remembers the size and position of all my previously opened programs (I mean by "programs": EXCEL, INTERNET EXPLORER, FILES, WINDOWS MAIL, WORD, POWERPOINT and others), so that when opens again, they open in the same place and size that they were finally on the closure.

So I can arrange some programs to occupy some space on the desktop, and each time that I open them they will open in the same place.

However, WIndows 8 does NOT. When you use the desktop computer in Windows 8 even after organizing the progams to where I like them every time, the next time I open them they will NOT open in the same place or size.

Or sometimes it does, but only once, but then not do the next time.

In any case, it is so NOT intuitive and it is a huge concern to be their resizing each time.

Anyone know WHY? and more importantly if there is a solution? or, where and how can I let Microsoft have this feedback so that the Windows 8.1 update can include a fix for this?

Additional data:

System: Windows 8 64-bit (w/Panel touchscreen desktop PC)
I use my taskbar on the top of the screen in my Windows 7 and Windows 8 PCs.

Resize the window of Windows Explorer how you want and then close.

Next time, when you open the Windows Explorer window, you should remember that the windows of size when it was closed the last time.

If this isn't the case, then this problem occurs because the registry to the folder options settings are incorrect.

How did you help file .chm maintain its position of the window when the user resizes the Help window.

One of my customers complained that the content help scrolls out of view when the window is resized. Is there a way to anchor the position while the window is resized?

Ok. I understand what they want now. Unfortunately there is no way to achieve what they want. A consequence of resizing of the window, is that you lose focus on what is selected in the section. This is something that affects all windows, not only the CHM files. Try selecting part of a web page and the resizing of the window. The same happens.

The menu buttons changing size and position for the navigation of the site.

The menu buttons appear fine in preview mode, but as soon as I download on Business Catalyst all going PEAR - buttons decrease in size and change position!
I tried everything I can think of, including the re-doing the menu from scratch and upload whenever I make a change. Whenever I duplicate the menu on another page is when the problem occurs, but as I said that's no problem at all in preview mode browser.

I've been clicking since the menu buttons and a few times, but always without strangely shaped or placed images.

I think you can be assured that this is just a bug in your browser, probably some old picture caching that is too persistent to get deleted automatically. Refresh your page or clear the cache of your browser manually. That could help.

Specify the size and position of the imported frames?

I have a video job simulating a split-screen effect, with a host of the Conference on the right side of the screen and the pictures imported from their PowerPoint on the other. When the presenter moves to a new slide, I must find this slide and drop it in. To do this, whenever I have imported a still, I have to:
-Right click on display properties
-Click on the twistie query
-change the position to 494/240
-change the scale to 71%.
Not much, right? But I literally hundreds of hundreds of these stills. And with each, the area of the proposal close up, so I have to click again on the twistie. I do this for a two day conference with perhaps a dozen speakers and am able to browse literally thousands of still images.
I tried to import the stills and select more than one, and then view the properties appear dimmed.
Is there a way to tell PE7 imported stills should be 71% and should be in the position that I need? It would save me a lot of time.

There are basically two ways to do it.

1.) resize images in Photoshop/ESP to meet your needs and then import them into the pre.

2.) resize an image in the timeline panel, Rt-click and choose copy, then select all the images fixed and Rt-click, choose the attributes of the dough. It's easier if all the images are the same video track - you just "lasso" them with the cursor.

I like #1, PS has better resizing algorithms and controls, than before, in my tests.

Before the latest updates firefox remember the position of the window when he was finally stop. Now, it still load upper left full screen on my first monitor.

Win7, especially in XP mode because I don't like aero.

Why don't the FOLDER WINDOWS remember their size and position when last closed windows program how do.

All files should be able to recall it size and position ANY TIME THEY ARE OPEN.

The hot - fix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979560 (however caused heart attack when the computer would not start after the installation) is a nice step in the right direction but not a complete solution. Windows foldershould open in the State they were when closed last. Already, they remember the way their information is displayed, then why not their size and their position.

Windows has always been very weak in the area of memory of the Office Organization. God forbid your icon layout should be messed up.

Bravo on the labelling of the things in the taskbar, but why not the desktop computer?

I don't know how to change the size and quality of the text on the screen on Windows 7

I just installed a new Windows 7 but I don't know how to change the size and quality of the text on the screen. I tried all the things normal, resolution, size of icons, dpi etc but nothing gives me what I want. The text in clear 'wonderful' thing is just terrible. When I go through the 4 steps I see no text boxes which make the text nothing better. All options are terrible, so the result on screen is too terrible. When I do any huge I do not get a full screen of things - view the Start button disappears or I did not closing small cross at the top - of the suggestions to inprove the situation? I must mention that my screen/monitor is 2006 - I need to buy a new one? How much is this Windows 7 is going to cost me, or maybe I should go back to XP!

I am now in my 60s and only started using a pc when I was over 50 years so... In any case, I asked a question about the size of screen resolution and text and received much good advice from all that you guys. I had recently changed in XP to Windows 7. However, the bit of advice that I was given in 'Cyberking' here at the Portugal had set the resolution of the screen, the advanced settings, 75 to 60 Hertz Monitor tab. Very basic, and the first question asked the technician (Lady) was "what size is your screen? Naturally as a smaller screen that any 'techno' would be considered dead aid, solving the problem was simple and straightforward without me having to stretch my knowledge and my skills by downloading all programes weird (to me) or do the funny stuff in the bios or something else. I send this comment to you for you to realize that the simple solution is not always bad and maybe we should go for the easiest first and then work up to the more difficult ones.

Just for you all to see - now my screen resolution is perfect, the text on the screen is clear and legible without difficulty, even though the size of text and icon is small. Clarity is all!

You can make a custom context menu of vi, I would like to convert the string array an array of clucters where the cluster includes a checkbox and a string to double. Then display the number of rows in the table = number of items. Then, you can programmatically resize the window with nodes of property.
