Size of array problem in Windows 7

Hi all

I have a VI through the opening in a new laptop, it shows a few tables inadequate controls (with a table diferent size), however I can´t put it right.

But when I'm doing an EXE of this VI and if I run the EXE in another computer, the façade seems aligned and Ok.

I m using the labview 2009 Sp1 with Windows 7, this vi have been created in another laptop in an older version and always with the Windows Xp, and every time that I updated the version of labview always seems correct on the laptop, until now when I changed the laptop computer and the operating system to Win7.

Any help/advice is much apreciated

Thank you

Make sure that you use the same font settings for all the controls you want to align. You might have some controls set a specific font name and others left the police to default Application. LabVIEW replaces the police request regardless of the default font of the system is on a particular computer.

Different fonts are by default and available on different versions of Windows then you can definitely get in trouble here if you mix families of fonts and the names in the same user interface.

If you request a specific font name and it is not available on some Windows machine will be replaced by another policy that he thinks looks like but the heuristics of this substitution can sometimes go really South of the Ecuador and just give the crazy results.

  • Edge of metering size buffer/table problem (VC ++)

    Hello

    Accidentally, I posted this in the multifunction DAQ forum so forgive me for posting this again here.

    I'm trying to make an edge stamped with PCI-6115 of counting for the application that I'm developing.

    Ideally, I initialize a buffer array, then use a sample clock time and acquire the values of a counter which will then be stored in a buffer.  After a number of samples, I would then use the DAQmxReadCounterU32 function to extract this data and perform calculations.

    However, windows gives me an error when I try to initialize the size of the stamp of table is larger than 255001, I need 264000 +.

    Essentially, it seems that only this part of the code to execute:

    error int = 0;

    TaskHandle taskHandle = 0;

    TaskHandle taskHandleCtr = 0;

    given uInt32 [260000];

    After trying initialize the array of uInt32 my program crashes saying there was an error with my exe with a popup asking me if I want to send an error report to Microsoft.

    That would be a problem of windows not afford to allocated more 255000 32bits samples for this table?  If so how can I put the table on the memory embedded amount?

    Sorry guys, it actually had nothing to do with the DAQ card.

    He was apparently C++ that limits the size of the array that I called him, which was the traditional "int a [size]".

    I used this rather to solve my problem:

    int * a = NULL;
    a = new int [10000000];

    Problem solved.

    Sorry for posting in the wrong forum and thanks to all who read this.

  • Problems after Windows Update on Vista wireless

    It seems that other people have a similar problem, but I'll post this new...
    I've been running Windows Vista Ultimate on my Toshiba laptop for years without any problems.  Earlier this year, I started seeing issues after Windows updates.  The main problem is that after updates Windows, my wireless network is is more noticed and the wireless card (which was installed on the computer, and never had problems before) is not recognized.  I manually installed updated drivers with no luck.  The only thing that has worked is to do a system restore to a point before the updates.  The problem seems to be related to an update in general, I can't uninstall.

    I find it extremely ironic that I have no problems with Vista until Windows 7 is launched. First of all, it's the wireless card, then a problem with a driver graphics card (apparently... which seems to be fixed now) and return to the wireless card.  Should I expect to continue to have problems unless I upgrade to Windows 7?  I can't continue to spend half of my day trying to fix my computer after an update that is supposed to fix the errors, but I don't like the feeling that I am forced to upgrade.

    Hi dabaum77,

    From your post, it seems that the issue was occurring when Windows updates are installed automatically again even after the restoration of the system and that is why I suggest to restore the system again to a point before the updates and download and install Windows updates manually.

    Access the link below
    Follow these steps to disable the automatic updates:

    1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. in the left pane, click on change settings.
    3. under important updates, choose the option you want.
    4. under recommended updates, select the Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates check box, and then click OK. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Install the updates one by one and check the update is causing the problem to occur. If the problem persists due to a particular update, repeat the process and refrain from settling the problem causing the update to.

    You can also check the update problem in Windows Update history.

    Follow the steps to check which day caused the issue:

    1. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.

    2. click on the link to view update history.

    3. to view the details of a single Windows Update-
    (A) select and right-click on a Windows Update list, and then click details.

    (B) click on close when finished.

    You can also uninstall the update that is causing the problem to occur, although it is not recommended.

    1. to uninstall a Windows Update, you must go to programs and features. There are several ways to find it. One of the simplest is to use the search box on the start menu.

    2. in the programs and features, click the link updates installed.

    3. after a few seconds, Windows Vista will load the list of installed updates. Scroll down the page until you find the update you want to delete, select it with the mouse and then click on uninstall.

    4. Windows Vista will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall the update you selected. Click Yes and the uninstall process will begin.

    5 depending on the size of the update, the uninstall process may take from several seconds to several minutes.

    6. wait for the window above will disappear and, if necessary, restart your PC. The update is now deleted.

  • I'm running out of room on a Pentium 3 computer, volume size 14,30 GB using Windows XP Home Edition

    original title: Windows XP Home Edition

    I'm running out of room on a Pentium 3 computer, volume size 14,30 GB using Windows XP Home Edition. This computer is no longer connected to the internet. I did a 'new' installation of the XP disk in an effort to remove unwanted files, but they remain on the computer, too much space? I have 22% free space (3,19 GB). I have the drivers for 2 printers on the computer, 1 regular printer (.38 MB) and 1 photo (63,63 MB). These are only currently installed programs, I put on the computer after the installation of "new". When I try to use the cleaning disc, the screen says I have 539ko internet temporary files and 32 KB of web client / Publisher temporary files. When I try to view these files, this screen is 'empty' or hidden? If I "check mark" these files and tell the computer I don't know I want to remove them, a screen indicates that they are being deleted (this screen only lasts a fraction of a second)?  but they are stll on the computer. Sometimes it deletes temporary internet files only to "come back" and the size can be different?  I tried to run the Disk Defragmenter (it took a lot of time). When I look at the report, I have a long list of files that it could not defragment? An example would be \ documents and settings------quest-my documents-my... I can't find these files? In addition, the computer is reminding me that I have so many days to activate windows after running the XP disk again. Thank you!

    Do a "new installation" Windows to remove unwanted files, it's a bit like swatting flies with a hammer.  And in your case, the hammer was apparently missed.  And, as you have discovered, you have now re - activate.  I hope that you still have your ID handy product.

    What are the files that are too much space and you want to delete?
    Consider to download and execute JDiskReport, a small utility in Java that will graphically show you what files take up more space on your drive.  In order to do this, however, you need to install Java, available here: http://www.java.com/en/

    Here's how to do a "clean" Windows XP installation, which includes the step of the formatting of the hard drive (otherwise said, the Windows CD not implementing in the form as part of the installation process; you don't need any other disk, diskette or other):

    http://www.theeldergeek.com/xp_pro_install_-_graphic.htm
    http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

    There are important things to think before you do another reinstall.

    Although your computer will probably work after a clean install of Windows XP, some of the features of your material are not available until you install the specific drivers for this hardware (rather than the drivers built into Windows XP).  The most likely problems are the video and audio, but since your computer is very old, it is likely that Windows XP has an enough information on your hardware it will, in fact, work OK.

    Unless the Windows XP CD you already includes Service Pack 3, if you're ever going to connect the computer to the Internet, you must install Service Pack 3 (and subsequent critical updates).  The best way to do is to connect the computer to the Internet and go - only - to http://www.update.microsoft.com , even if you're never going to connect to the Internet, Service Pack 3 may have included updates of Windows features you want to use.

  • Printing problems with Windows 7

    Since moving to Windows 7, I have problems printing.  What you see is not what you get.  For all programs (Word, Excel, Access) - the info is being printed as if it is printing on a 8.25 x 10.25 instead of 8 x 11 paper size.  I can't print labels because they don't properly space.  NOT SATISFIED WITH WINDOWS 7!

    If you're happy with Windows 7 is of course your choice.
    but I would point out that the problem you are experiencing is not a problem
    with Windows 7. The problem is with the driver that you use for your
    printer (and drivers are written by the printer manufacturers, not by)
    (Microsoft). Either you have the wrong driver or the driver has bugs
    it. or you can use the wrong driver.

    It's just a guess, but my guess is that you have the wrong driver.
    Check with the manufacturer of your printer, either by phone or on their web
    site for the right pair.

  • Problems with Windows 7RC in the Boot Camp Partition

    I have Windows 7 RC (32-bit) running on a Boot Camp partition on a 2nd generation of MacBook Air.  When I try to load it in VMWare Fusion 2.04, I get a BSOD just after the "Starting Windows" screen finishes loading.  It says that Windows has detected a problem, try to restart and executes the boot system diagnostic tool, nothing helps.  I tried implementing VMWare using Vista and Windows Server 2008, 1280 MB RAM and 3D on and outside.  Any ideas?

    At the time current Windows 7 in any version is not supported by Apple on the Boot Camp partition, nor is it supported in any way under Fusion.

    Although it is not supported, it will work however it depends what Guest select you when the virtual machine based on the creation of a regular file.  I don't got no problem using Windows Server 2008, when the virtual machine based on the creation of a regular file.

    On your Boot Camp partition was a clean build or you have an existing Boot Camp partition previously Virtual Machine.  If you had a Boot Camp existing partition previously Virtual Machine then try the following.

    ====================

    Note: These senses are different which have already been posted so read and follow through... Note: These steps assume that you have a single Apple to default installation of Windows on a single Boot Camp partition and Boot Camp of VMware Fusion single default partition Machine virtual (without a snapshot *) and if you have changed the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Machine package virtual first. * Also note that Fusion 2.0.0 may accidentally have a snapshot with the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine and it should not have, then you should check to ensure that the condition does not exist as well. (With merger closed if the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine package is over 1 MB in size, then you might have a snapshot in place and do not continue with these instructions.)

    ===

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will delete the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine of the metadata and the Virtual Machine to help.

    Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition install windows in that it does not remove it.  Also be sure you copy all the command line below, as well as, "RM" at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the s in the Machines. "

    RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Helper/naos-1.0.vmwarevm/vmware.log ' ~/Desktop/Helper_vmware.log

    VMware is a company so I doubt that you have implemented the company however, your statement is a bit ambiguous because it is not clear if your always talk your partition Boot Camp Machine virtual matter in Fusion, you tried to select each of them as an OS on the entrance of Boot Camp partition on the Virtual Machine library and it didn't help the Boot Camp Virtual Machine partition number or to be issues with creating virtual machines with these operating systems.

  • Problems with windows 98 in VMware 6.5

    I have problems with Windows 98 in VMware workstation 6.5. I can't get the screen resolution is greater than 800 x 600 or higher than mode 16 color mode color. No 16 - bit. Mode 16 colors. Also, I can not healthy work and does not include the link to the note tech sound on the guest98 Workstation 6.5 support page and even the link which is he's dead. I suspect that resolution and color mode problems have to do with crap, generic video driver emulates fun. Is it possible to use a better? On the issue of sound... no idea.

    My material is important? I can post the form if you need.

    I have not noticed any unknown devices in Device Manager and I'm not having problems restarting.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    OK, I dug my Win98 guest and did some tests.

    First of all, I want to apologize to you.  I proposed to install the wrong driver - it bluescreens my guest as well.  I'm really sorry for all of your time, I lost.

    Http://sanbarrow.com/vmx/vmx-sound.html , I find that the default sound card is a "ES1371.  Looking for this model on the web site of Creative gives me another driver.

    The driver that I downloaded is called 'epw9xup.exe' and is 976 KB in size. I get an error unable to 'load newest MIDI', but I get audio startup after you install the above driver.  I hope that your game requires no MIDI...

    Be sure to take a snapshot of your guest before you try to install the driver.  That way if something is wrong you can just go back to the previous snapshot.

    Please try the above driver and let me know if it works.

    I'm sorry to give you the wrong information.

I have Windows Home premium 64, but when I have donwloaded from different versions of the windows (from version torrent and official) it says that the type of the operating system installed on computer mobile im - one deferred tries to install. Not knowing what to do.

    > Do not know what to do.
    According to the specifications of the laptop it came with WIN7 64 BITS HOME PREMIUM so the best thing you can do is to install the original recovery image that you got with your laptop and everything should be ok.

    Can you do this?
