Size of the MIF file that is extremely important!

Hello

I'm working on an FM file. The size of this file is 3,738 kb. It is composed of 73 A4 pages with tables, text and referenced images.

When I try to save as mif, it generates a .mif 44.1 MB file.

Initially was external work and designer embebed images. Later, I fixed all the images to turn them into referenced files.

Could this be the problem? I don't know what to do. I need to separate the FM files for < 5 MB MIF files. A 44 MB file is a giant!

Thank you.

Raul,

MIF files are generally much more that binary FM counterparts, a factor of 10 is not surprising to me.

Why would you need less than 5 MB files? You can easily ZIP down to this size, I guess.

First of all I don't do everything what said Tempro!

Secondly, this message was posted here in the forum several times and if you are looking for the size of the ROM file is incorrect, you would find that:

  • How to reduce the size of the PDF file on scanned on my PMX922 docs

I deal with a lot of documents, and I find that when I scan the docs on my MX922 the size of the PDF file is MUCH larger that the size of the original PDF file. That's what I see (on a document page 2):

    (Received) original size: 11 k

Default scan (Quick Menu): 1061 k

With compression high (Quick Menu): 116 k

The Panel of the printer (res 150): 209 k

    Windows scanning app (150 res): 1495 k

Scanning from the Quick Menu with high Compression seems to be the best, but it still somewhat adds to the file size. It's a big problem so I dal with many GREAT docs. Several times the size of the file increase prevents me from being able to send files. Is there anything else I can do? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi 1wwjdbro,

We can set the PDF to HIGH compression option in the utility of digitization of IJ and also select the image digitized transfer compression to reduce the file size of the PDF file. To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. open the utility of scanning IJ.

    2. in the Scan from Canon IJ utility window that opens, click SETTINGS... at the bottom right of the window. The settings dialog box is displayed.

    3. click on the SCAN of DOCUMENT option in the left pane of the window.

4 in the right pane window, look for the box to COMPRESS SCANNED IMAGES to be TRANSFERRED in the Scan Options section and check it.

    5. then, in the SAVE the SETTINGS section, find the FORMAT of DATA field and ensure that PDF or PDF (multi-page) is selected, and then click the SETTINGS button to the right of the field.

    6. in the window that opens, find the COMPRESSION PDF section, then select TOP from the drop-down list. Click OK to close the window. You will be taken back to the SETTINGS window.

    7. once all settings have been selected in the SETUP window, click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save the changes. The IJ Scan Utility main screen is displayed.

    8. click the DOCUMENT button. Housing starts scanning. Click CANCEL to cancel the scan if necessary. The scanned images are saved to the location of the selected folder previously specified in the SETTINGS... window.

    I hope this helps!

  • size of the image file

    Hi all

I have an application that includes the photo module. I use under encoding settings:

    String encoding = "encoding = jpeg & width = 1024 & height = 768 & quality = normal;

The problem is the image size. For the same scene when I use 9780 it is approximately 350KB for 9800, it is only 80KB. Can someone please explain the reason for this difference?

Y at - it no additional or other adjustment means that I can use to reduce the size of the file for 9780? (physical size 1024 * 768 should not be changed).

    Thank you.

Could not find any additional setting. I used the method to reduce the image quality and therefore the size of the image file without changing the resolution of the image below.

    JPEGEncodedImage.encode (bitmap, QUALITY);

  • Pre set the size of the final file

I'll try to find a method that allows me to pre-define the size of the final file to for example 1.8 MB. The idea is that I can set the size of parameter file (e.g.1.8MB) and lets say a resolution of 72 dpi for example. I run the command and Photoshop reasambles image to pixel dimensions necessary until I find myself with a file exactly 1.8 MB with a resolution of 72 dpi.

The reason why? I need to convert 3500 images that are exactly 1.8 MB. The pixel dimension are not relevant in this case

N ° not in PS. It doesn't ever work under very specific conditions, in any case. You would need to settle on a format that uses no compression or a compression method that is predictable and compress the same amount regardless of the content of the image and the program must have a way to enforce a file of cropping and scaling automatically size to reduce the number of pixels. Sort of a safe for the Web on steroids, but using uncompressed TIFF or something else. It may even be necessary to run the algorithm of coding in reverse and in a loop of trial and error and even then, the question is, how exactly the size of the file must match. Apart from some obscure programming demos which produce images specifically companies or generate specific buffers for testing purposes, I have seen nowhere implementation practice.

  • Logitech C920 sequences is more than double the size of the original file

    Hi all

I'm very new to adobe Premier Pro and I am just a little overwhelmed by the software. Here is my configuration of curect.

    Webcam: Logitech C920

    MIC: Blue Yeti

I record video using OBS and it generates a file in the MP4 format. About a 10-minute film is at most 200 MB. Now, when I go to edit the clip in Premier Pro I understand that I must first begin a new sequence. This is my first problem: there is no predefined sequence that matches the C920 Locitech. So for now I'm just drag and drop the file into the time line. Is this correct?

I can do the basic changes for now and that's fine, the problem comes when I go to export the images. I used H.264/Custom upstairs (MP4 format), I leave everything as it was. only 2 things I edit are the maximum and minimum flow for 10/16. I also check the box use overview at the bottom (I think that's what it was called) now when I hit Caryl export my PC Suite for about 10/15 minutes and give me a file that is about 700 MB in size. This is more than double the size of the original file. Why is this?

If there is more information you need, I'll do my best to advise.

    Thank you

If the C920 clip is the first clip you fall into an empty timeline, first expected to ask if you want to change sequence settings to match the clip (unless it is already). To be sure, simply right click on the clip in the project bin and select new sequence of the Clip and they will match for sure.

The size of the exported video file is dictated by one thingand it is not frame size or frame rate - sampling rate is what determines the size of the file. If you want to halve the size of output file, you will need to reduce the flow rate by half.

Rather than using Custom, maybe find a predefined existing H.264 which you gives the combination of quality and size of the file that you like? Make sure that the size of the image and the frame rate matches the source. How do you want to display or distribute material - on computer, on a device, online?

I do not use the option use the previews - that means you take a temp make file and redisplay (transcoding) there again, adding a new generation of compression loss. By not checking this box, first visit the direct export from the source element format, by cutting out the middle man. I do not have a clip that is so effects loaded it will not play in the timeline panel to check the results, I don't bother making anything green. Everything is done at time of export anyway.

Red, yellow and green make bars and what they mean. First work Pro area

    Thank you

  • Purge of the records of the Table and the size of the data file

    11.2.0.4/Oracle Linux 6.4

We want to reduce the size of the DB (file size of data), so that our RMAN backup size will be reduced. So, let's create stored procedures that will purge old data in huge tables.

After you remove records, we will decrease the tables using the:

    change the movement line of table ITEM_MASTER enable;

    change the waterfall table retractable ITEM_MASTER space;

    ALTER table ITEM_MASTER deallocate unused;

The commands above will reduce the file size of data (see dba_Data_files.bytes) or it will reduce the size of the segment?

Only the segment formats will be reduced.  Oracle has never reduced the sizes of data file automatically.  You would have to reduce them.  You may not be able to reduce the size of data file if there are extensions to the 'end' (highwatermark) data files.  In this case, you will need to create a new tablespace and move all the objects for the new tablespace OR export, drop, create tablespace and import.

  • How can I control the size of the BMP file created by freeze frame tool?

I use the first 13 items on Windows 7

When I run the tool freeze frame it creates a still image (bmp file) from an image in my video clip.

    The bmp file size can vary from 6076 KB, 2701 KB or KB 1013 and seems to be independent of the type of item (MPEG, MOV, AVI), size (1366 x 768, 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080, 320 x 180, 720 x 480) or rate (29.97, 29,55. (29.04 25.00, 24.00) video.

The size of the image seems to depend on the project folder, in which it was created.  The same clip can produce a 6076 bmp or bmp file 2701 whereby one project (prel) the tool Freeze Frame files was performed.

I searched everywhere for a project setting that could establish a size by default files for output, but it seems not to be.

Is it possible to control the size of the bmp file generated by freeze frame?   I need consistency,

    Thank you.

    .. .dimensions of image file 6076 KB (20 x 11/5 inches)

Re thinking, try a few things and this sentence convinces me that you mix dimensions of the image in pixels and the size of the file in KB.   In addition, digital images have in. up to put on paper or screen.  All they have is the pixel dimensions.  Each pixel can have a lot or little information based on the color, brightness, etc. so the KB of size can vary even if the pixel dimensions only.

I've set up a project in 640 x 480, put in a clip and freeze box a. BMP.  If you look at a file in Explorer and you pass the mouse over it, you get a date, size in pixels and size KB.  The result (you can see in the picture as an attachment) is the file with an image of 640 x 480, as the setting for the project.  In this case, a 900KO file size was necessary to store the data of this particular framework.

If Visio is happy with JPEG files, there is a way through the publication & share > Image to better control the dimensions in pixels with settings under the Advanced button.  Using this method, I made a jpeg from the same exact with 1920 x 1080 pixel frame and 1,2 MB in file size.

I am convinced that your changes in the size of the text are due to dimensions in pixels and have nothing to do with the size of the file.  Of course I was wrong more than once and tips can be useful what you actually pay!

  • Try to calculate the size of the PAGE file

This is an academic exercise. I am trying to determine why my PAGE file size is what it is. Currently, he is registered to 28,000,331 bytes. (He's alone). Here are the facts:

    3 dense dimensions, stored members are 17 * 20 * 5, for a total of 1,700 * 8 = 13 600 bytes.

The actual maximum blocks are 19 800. The maximum reported are 24 750.

I have disabled compression for ease of calculation.

There is only 1 block no missing.

I use SER60 as my guide in the section estimate disk and the memory required. However, when I use the planned calculation:

Number of blocks * (size of data block expanded + 72 bytes)

I don't get anywhere near the number of bytes listed for the PAG file. I realize that I am not to mention the rest of the database files and do not know if this calculation is only for the PAG files or all files. I am not very interested in the size of the entire database, just the file PAG. So my questions are:

    1. is the calculation provided for all files or just the file PAG?

    2. If the answer to 1 is Yes, is there a separate calculation, that I can use to determine the size of the PAGE file only?

Take a look at NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND in the technical reference on Essbase.  We had a long conversation that addressed this issue on Network54 recently: http://www.network54.com/Forum/58296/thread/1374608752/11-1-2-2+Fragmentation

Short answer is that Essbase allocates file space .pag in 2048-block pieces, which is the default value of NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND 11.1.2.2.  Calculate how many blocks (including header block 72 bytes) integrate 28,000,331 bytes and you will see that this is almost exactly 2048.

With compression on it more difficult (for me, at least) to understand how Essbase arrives with the size of the average disk blocks to use as the size on the disk with compression on is not constant.

  • Size of the target file too big?

    Hello

We have an interface that takes a Source file-> transformations in the transit area-> and provides a target file output.

The problem is that the target file is too much than it is supposed to be.

We have 'truncate' Option is enabled, so its no duplicates...

We believe that it is the physical and logical target defined lengths for files.

We believe that the logical length is far too much cause substantial 'spaces' between the columns of data, thereby increasing the size of the file.

We originally the logical length for data columns 12 and got the following error message:

Overflow error arithmetic digital conversion to digital data type.

When we increased the logical length between 12 and 20 interface run fine without errors. But now the size of the target file is simply too large 1:5

  • Cannot reduce the size of the VMDK file

    OK, here's my story:

I started with the growable virtual 40 GB HD default mapped as C:\ on my virtual machine. The HD received complete and had poor performance and I converted it to a prealloue 100 GB HD. It worked OK for a while, but then I created a new virtual HD mapped as D:\ to store data.

So my problem was C:\ was too big which made backup of the virtual machine of your time, and I thought I have to resize C:\ 30 GB. My first test was to convert it to a HD growable. This remains a 100 GB on the host vmdk file.

Then, I used the two compacts from the GUI and stop at the command prompt on the convert HD Nope, still 100 GB vmdk file on the host.

Then I used a disk management program to reduce the size of the c:\ partition with 30 GB and run both shrink and compact again. Guess what, the vmdk file is always 100 GB.

I'm running out of ideas on what to do to reduce the size of the vmdk file. Any ideas?

Yes, I did, but I used compact from the GUI and stop at the command line (vmware - vmdiskmanager.exe). At that time I didn't there's a shrink option in VMWare tools.

In this case try to diminish with the extra partition (temporary).

  • The actual size of the VMDK file

I have a 4.0.0,208167 ESXi host and on it, to install WIN 2008, I created a new virtual machine.

When configure the virtual disk, I put size drive 60 g and selected the option space Allocate and commit to demand (thin Provisioing) .

The following steps are fine and smooth.  The installation is good and VM can work as I want.

Ultimately, I have disabled this machine virtual and connected to the ESXi via vSphere Client on my laptop, with the tool of the browser data store , I found that the size of the VMDK file is about 5 G.

So I decided to download this file to my laptop with the data store Navigator tool.  But I found that it is a problem.  Tool of the data store browser said that it would take 300 minutes to download.  And I let it run for about 20 minutes, the *- flat. VMDK file in my laptop has become more than 8 G.  I had to stop this download process.

Why this file has become bigger than the original one?

Can I save this 5G VMDK file in my laptop (Windows XP)?

    Thank you very much

If you want a small export vmdk layer thin provisioned vmdk as a type "twoGbMaxExtentSparse.

To achieve this use vmkfstools and export the current vmdk like this

    vmkfstools-i /vmfs/volumes/localdatastore/test.vmdk /vmfs/volumes/nfsdatastore/export.vmdk d 2gbsparse

the example copies the thin test.vmdk disc put into service on the data store normal VMFS to a disk on a NFS datastore split more.

You can also create the split inside the same directory disk - but then you still have to copy it to your target host.

The new type vmdk you get can then be directly used with VMserver, player and Workstation
