  A common question that I found and searched is "Skydrive crashes", 'Skydrive takes forever to process changes', "Download Skydrive is very slow, take weeks to download a few gigabytes of files" etc...
  I also met problems where SVN and git can take forever while downloading files (.exe) executables and other file types. I worked with one of the projects was so bad that I had a SVN client to download only while I was sleeping because it was frustrating that it took 20 minutes to download a 4 KB executable in the repository. I did this experiment between several versions of Windows with several clients different svn.
  And I had other questions about the kind of download and upload files. Time and time again, I have found/created the solution is 'add a folder in skydrive to Windows Defender excluded list' and ' say Defender not to bother TortoiseSVN or git or their records. I said Defender to exclude the Skydrive directory, created another folder to empty a few hundred megabytes hundred files in, and 'treatment of changes' was done almost instantly. Also, usually, I get 100 KB/s upload, I was averaging over 1 MB after that adding just the Skydrive folder to the Defender excluded files. It was unexpected.
  I don't know where to drop off this apparent bug, Windows Defender, terrorizing and crippling the programs, but if my theory is correct, it seems that it is an urgent problem which, in the course of the life of the Defender has not been fixed (I have known the Defender-SVN question for four years). I had Defender apparently paralyze Skydrive speed by downloading photos and I've read many messages on these forums of Microsoft to a person leaving a program of Microsoft as Skydrive paid/updated to date because of the possible this problem of low and slow to initialize upload speed.
  So my question is threefold:
  1 is this bug noticed anywhere?
  2. where can I report this?
  3. someone knows Microsoft attempts to solve this?

  This question, which I have lived with the SVN executable download customers was more than 4 years with 5 different machines (1 XP, 1 Vista, 1 Windows 7 machines and 2 which started as Windows 7 but have been more later upgraded to Windows 8).

  SkyDrive will be see no difference between the different OS and bit versions. You can upload your documents to SkyDrive from a Vista 32 bit and download them on a 64-bit of Windows 8, or even on a Mac.

  For a real-life example, I created earlier today a PowerPoint presentation using a 32-bit Office PowerPoint 2010 on a 32-bit Windows Home Premium, uploaded to SkyDrive and later at home, downloaded on my Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and continued to edit with Office PowerPoint 2013.

  Your files and documents "know not"what version of the program and the OS bits, they were created with. " Bit version is important when it comes programs and system files, not with your personal files and documents.

• SkyDrive App on the Surface is not sync with local folder

• Why Skydrive can't handle drag them and drop folders?

  I can't believe this problem with Skydrive has persisted this long.  I just made an account about a month ago (December 2011), but I'm reading messages 2 years throughout the Internet regarding this problem.

  I have many files.  Files containing things.  Folders in the folders.

  Records represent content organization.  Reminder.  Browse.  That almost as important as the content itself.

  The suggestion?  SkyDrive, hand - create the bazillion of files I have on my hard drive and then hand - fill each SkyDrive folder with the items I want to back up.

  WHY offer this utility to the public when such a need to basis has not been addressed?

  I don't think that there will never be such a system.  From an architectural point of view, the computers do not know the difference between files and folders.  Technically, a folder is a file.  And as by clicking on a file, film or photo has different actions, the files are just files and their action is to show the other files.

  When you drag-and - drop a file, the web browser sees it as just another file, he can't see what files are 'in' this folder, because technically, no files are actually in it.
  That's why each backup, synchronization, or service requires a file-sharing program to be installed on the computer, a program that is able to look inside files and to determine how to handle the content.  The web just can't do this without a request for assistance.
  As I said, the Windows Live Sync program is indeed such help, and it can synchronize your folders (and all inside of them) on your SkyDrive for you.  Just to get the program to http://get.live.com and tell him what file (s) to download.

• In Outlook, how can I get my 'libraries' directory in sync with my Windows 7 "libraries" directory?

  I use Windows 8 (x 64) and recently turned to Outlook as my default email. When I go to find a file to add as an attachment in Outlook, the 'libraries' directory which gets opened is not the same as the normal Windows 7 "libraries" directory. How can I get the sync?

  I keep a certain my Doc files I copied to a usb key, so I can work with them to work, then come here and sometimes have some prob sort what are the most recent files on usb and PC at home.
  Is syncToy a viable option for me,?
  That is to say:
  Can I make changes to the files and remove them on usb etc and different changes on PC (same folders), and then use sync toy to sort this?
  I imagine that it works well with 1way sync, but not course from both directions when I added/deleted etc on both sites?

• Windows Mail application do not sync

  I've been using Windows 8 for some time and have always had a bit of success blindly with the Mail 8. As I am now with the device as the Tablet more, I want to use the mail, rather than Outlook application. However, I have the following problem.

  When I click on synchronize I see at the top right of the display the message michael.***@***.com is unavailable. However, if I try to connect using a browser or with Outlook, I have no problem connecting to the service.

  The e-mail account is the account associated with my Tablet and a Windows Live account, even though I have a custom domain. Can I use other services such as SkyDrive, store etc, I guess this isn't a problem of password, and I can't change the password in the messaging application, as this is the account of the tablet.

  If I go into settings, accounts, the e-mail account. I can see the following error. There is a problem with the security certificate for the server. The address in the certificate does not match the address of the server. That can happen... etc...

  Now first I have checked the checkbox ignore certificate errors, but still have the question of synchronization. The error is also surprising that there is a Windows Live account...

  In fact, I did exactly that a week or two ago and things seem to work much better. Emails are now virtually in real time, and I have much more confidence in the application.

  Interestingly, if I do a manual sync, I still get the error, but it seems now that I have this error when there is nothing to synchronize.

  Is it possible to display the photos in the Photos which received me on SkyDrive app? I want to share a bunch of pictures with people and that they can view them in Photos. Photos shared with the user, however, are not in the Photos, only those downloaded by the user. Is this normal or am I missing something?

• Problem with Microsoft account won't let me sync between desktop PC and laptop (Windows 8) custom settings

  Synchronization of the custom (for example, my desktop background) settings does not work between my desktop PC and my laptop and vice versa (both running Windows 8). I use my Microsoft account (so no premises) on both devices and have already checked the relevant synchronization (which are lit) settings.   It worked perfectly for me:

  Follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that the synchronization of personal settings is enabled on all the PC associated with your account
  2. Go here and follow the instructions: http://skydrive.live.com/win8personalsettingsprivacy
  3. Wait a day or two
  4. Do this it fixes going in charms bar and selecting settings-> change PC settings.  On the accounts section, there is a link under your Microsoft e-mail account called 'Disconnect '.  If you click on it and follow the instructions create you a local computer account and then log off from Windows.  Once you connect with your local account, go back to the account settings and reconnect to your account.

  Solved all my problems of synchronization.

  Windows 8 App Photos opens and closes immediately if started from subway tile interface.

  If I try to open any picture or video with the Photos App, I get the message:

  This behavior has emerged in the last days and the problem is that Kaspersky has marked these apps as "not reliable."

  Solution:

  (1) open the 'Applications updates' section of Kaspersky Security Intrernet. A new window will open.

  (2) in the dropdown in the top left corner, select 'all '.

  (3) in the search box of the appearance of the upper right corner (the one with the magnifying glass) to Skydrive, calendar, Chat, or any other application does not.

• How to prepare my Skydrive on Win8 installation for an upgrade to Win8.1?

  I posted this in the forum of Skydrive, but did not get a response, so perhaps this question belongs here instead.

  I am currently using Skydrive on my laptop Win 8.

  My "My Documents" folder it's in Skydrive folder. My library showed up in this folder so that when I click on "My Documents" folder in my Skydrive is one that opens.

  The default folder to the following location is empty: C:\Users\Joanne\Documents

  1. what happens when I switch to Windows 8.1?

  2 will be 8.1 sync my current Skydrive documents or the default location of documents (currently empty)?

  3. I plan to back all my documents to the default location and Skydrive uninstalling before I try to upgrade to avoid problems. What do you recommend?

  The Windows 8.1 update doesn't when you redirect personal folders in different places. Its best restore you all the folders that you have redirected to their original location.
