Slot memory cracked when inserting RAM on area 51 R2

Hi, I replaced the RAM on my area 51 r2 and broke free of the snares (clips which push in RAM).  Now, I can't insert RAM into this slot.

Whereas he fell when I replaced RAM, is this to say that I would need to buy a new motherboard, or would be - it be covered by my warranty?  I'm surprised that it was so fragile, I was not trying to push the RAM into closing the clamp or something else.

Does anyone else have this problem?

one of the end connectors (clips which push in RAM) broke.

The movement or hinged part contributes to eject and also to help maintain the DIMM in the slot. However, it should not keep a strip of MEMORY insertion. Part should be sufficient. Again, the DIMM must move exactly perpendicular into/out of the crack... so you will have to move carefully this effect yourself.

  • LR6 will not automatically start when the memory card is inserted

    Hello

Recently upgraded to LR6 from LR 5.7.1. When LR 5.7.1 was installed, it would automatically start when the memory card is inserted. With only LR6 installed it does not open when the memory card has been inserted.

I "see the import dialog when a memory card is detected."

    I have LR installed 6.0.1.

When the memory card is inserted, you receive the following error message:

If I right click on the disk memory and select Auto Open play, a list of programs appear particularly LR. The program is highlighted is

If I click on LR in the list above, I encounter error "Application not found".

When I manually start LR6, it works and I can manually import from memory card.

What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you

    Stu

Yes, Autoplay is still trying to run LR5.

There is a previous thread with notes on how to edit the Windows registry to resolve this problem, if you are comfortable doing.

  • Lightroom CC does not launch when inserted memory card

After installing Lightroom CC I can't get Lightroom to automatically launch when a memory card is inserted.  The option is enabled in the settings menu of Lightroom.  On my PC under AutoPlay, I have the option open with Lightroom 6.0 64 which is CC in Lightroom to my knowledge.  However, when you insert a memory card I get an error that says F:\ Application not found.  I can go into Lightroom and select import files from a memory card without problem.

    Thank you.

I had this problem and I was able to fix by changing the Windows registry (it was only a minor change).

I changed the value of the following registry key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Adobe.AdobeLightroom64\shell\open\command

    The value is:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Lightroom.exe "%".

    I changed it to:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\lightroom.exe '% '.

  • HP 20-r013w: computer does not start if a memory card is inserted in the second take of DDR3 SODIMM 204 pins

My computer has 4 GB of RAM installed, but in the manual said I could upgrade to 8 GB. There are two jacks for memory cards for this model. When I checked there is a memory card of 4 GB installed in one of the (black color) and the second (white) were empty. So, I bought a second card 4 GB memory: 4 GB Crucial single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204 pins 1.35V/1.5V Notebook Memory Module CT51264BF160B that has the required parameters. Today I received the card and tried to place it in the second take (white) and then the computer does not restart. The same thing happens if the original of the memory card is inserted into the white Jack. There is no sound when I tried to launch the screen of the computer in black only. At the same time, both cards operate perfectly if located to the black Terminal. Is there something wrong with the second take, or should I do something before placing a card inside. Thank you!

I'm sorry I did not solve your problem.  To my knowledge there is no setting that can be changed to allow the second slot working correctly.  As the computer is still under warranty, I suggest contacting the seller for help.  They should help you to solve the problem.

  • Satellite A210 - 12U Slot memory failed

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A210-12U, currently had a BSOD, then finally PC would not boot at all, I managed to get it working again by removing one on the RAM bars, since I tried to install 2 sticks of RAM in various cobinations I thought that one of it was defective, it seems that both work very well , But when I put one of the in the top slot, the laptop does not start at all, not even the BIOs boot.

I guess that means that the slot memory has failed, my question is, can it be replaced? As there is no big, if not is there the 4 GB memory sticks available as I still want to upgrad.

    Thanks in advance

    Creeky

Looks like the slot is defective, or it could just be dirty. You can clean the slots using electrical cleaner from an electronics store. Do not use water or other liquids as you can the motherboard and cause damage.

I guess you could get a Service centre to resolder the connector memory, but it can be cheaper or easier to just buy another motherboard.

I doubt that laptop can take Modules to 4 GB RAM, 2 x 2 GB may be your only option.

But remember that 32-bit operating systems are limited to 3 GB, and you would need 64-bit Vista to take advantage of all of 4 GB.

PS. use Memtest (bootable CD or FD) at www.memtest.org to test RAM.

How to choose a program to open my photos when inserting my SD card because it does not give me options of this program to use differently than before, why, I don't know, so any help would be appreciated.

I know what it is, and I'm trying to answer it... will keep you posted
your original question in a forum of Vista.

OK... you are running XP and your computer has a media player you
    Insert the card in?

If you go to... Start / my computer... There should be one or more readers
listed as... Removable Disk... These are the slots of the media player.

If you right click on the removable disk representative the memory card
and in the menu... Choose... Properties / Autoplay tab and open the fall
window and select pictures. And... ICT... "ask me each time to choose
an action "." Maybe this will restore the AutoPlay window when you insert
    the map.

You could also try... on the left by clicking on the button "Restore default settings" / apply / OK.

And it may be worth trying to run the AutoPlay Repair Wizard.

  • Size of the slot and the "missing" host RAM

    I was check the control admission HA on our cluster configuration and there is something that annoys me. We always use 'no failover hosts' as our policy, that is why the slots are used. The size of the slot on our cluster is what I expected, but is not the number of slots. We seem to be having less slots I expect. For example;

We have five hosts in a cluster, each with 48GB of RAM for a total of 240 GB

A slot size is 2246 MB of RAM (I'm ignoring CPU isn't a constraint)

So I expect 240/2,246 = 107 locations (at least approximately). What I get is 90 slots.

Adding the RAM allocated to those 90 slots comes only 200 GB - what happened to my lack of 40 GB of RAM? The overhead of virtualization VM is included in the size of the slot. Because it is a cluster five host we are missing about 8GB per host (on 48 GB) - it's a 16% heavy. I thought that Frank Denneman covered this before (perhaps it is covered in his latest book on HA/DRS?) but if so I can't find it now.

Anyone can shed some light on this?

    Thank you

    Ed.

One thing to point out is that the number of places available in the cluster of calculation by dividing the total of the memory of the size of the slot is a shortcut which will give inaccurate results slightly - in particular, it will tend to give a little more slots that HA will show. HA actually calculates total slots by dividing the available memory for each host by the memory slot and then summing up the results. This may cause some resources on each host to "lose" If the available memory is not a multiple of the memory slot. The computation of the global memory resources, you can see slots that are in fact the combination of these 'wasted resources' on hosts but from a virtual machine running only with 1 host at a time (discount FT) these locations should be thrown out. Hope that makes sense assuming that your hosts are all the same, you can determine available memory by dividing the number of hosts of global memory if it cannot be completely accurate. You cannot view the exact memory available to a host when it is in a cluster - VC shows that aggregate (sum on all hosts) resources. You can connect a client the VI to a host directly and go to the tab for the allocation of resources to display the available memory.

  • Portege M500 cannot start when the USB ports are loaded

We have a M500 that recently seems to be affected by start-up problems when the USB ports are loaded with things like KB and Wireless Mouse USB external adapter.

When these ports are occupied at the start, all the usual tools seem do not load and the associated icons do not appear in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. The machine in question XP Professional and has 2 GB of RAM. The machine software is generally updated. Machine seems to start normally when the USB ports are empty.

Once completed a successful boot USB ports can be occupied and the machine will then seem to operate normally.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

In your case, I would do a BIOS update and also the chipset driver.
The two you can find on the Toshiba site. I m not sure but I think you have a model for Canada:
    http://www.Toshiba.ca

Have you tested the devices USB on another computer laptop or PC? Maybe the problem is the keyboard and/or the mouse and not the laptop.

  • When I try to record something, it tells me there is not enough memory, or when I change an image in paint. yet my reader/c is not even half full.

Original title: Windows Vista / on my computer HP laptop G60 gives me a hard time

When I try to record something, it tells me there is not enough memory, or when I change an image in paint. yet my reader/c is not even half full.  I also noticed that it is said that I have a recovery disk, which seems to be to store all my stuff instead of my main drive, why you get, and how can I fix this problem?

    Hi Shirleysilva,

Run the disk cleanup utility to remove unnecessary files from your system and then check if it helps. Disk Cleanup helps your computer run faster. It removes temporary files, empty the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of file system and other items that you no longer need.

To delete files using disk cleanup, follow the steps below:

    a. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button, all programs, Accessories, clicking System Toolsand then click on Disk Cleanup.

    b. in the Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, choose whether you want to clean your own files only or all files on the computer.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. If the Disk Cleanup: drive selection dialog box appears, select the hard disk you want to clean, and then click OK.

    d. click the Disk Cleanup tab and select the check boxes for files that you want to remove.

    e. When you are finished selecting the files you want to delete, click OK and then click on delete files to confirm the operation. Disk Cleanup on delete all unnecessary files from your computer.

  • Windows Media Center can't find DVD disc when inserted.

    Original title: dvd player

    Windows 7

Media Center can't find DVD disc when inserted

shows driver to be good and up-to-date

Play any CD or DVD or recognized by the system?

DVD players are a common failure point in computers.

If yours is a desktop PC:

A replacement can be purchased for about $20 and is easy to install.  Remove all power.  Button Hold ON in during 7 seconds.  Open the case.  2 screws hold the disc instead of delete, then remove the two wires from the back.  Make slide the other in its place and reverse the procedure.

    If yours is the laptop:

It is part of the OEM.  Therefore, it is much more expensive.  Probably in the vicinity of $100.  You can instead buy an external DVD drive for about $25, which is connected by USB.  It has the advantage of being portable and universally adaptable to any other PC.

  • I can't open my camera of withdrawal because it asks to format when inserted, but when format us windows says it can't complete the format

I can't open my camera of withdrawal because it asks to format when inserted, but when format us windows says it can't complete the format

This problem is usually caused by

    1. problem with the connecting cable
    2. the problem with USB port
    3. problem with the device itself.
I suggest you try changing ports and cable. If this does not work, the problem is with the device only.
In addition, note that the option to remove is not necessary to be used if you use Windows XP or a higher version of Windows and the device has an indicator of activity.
As you can see, most USB storage devices are configured for the fast-moving, which means, no need to use the option remove safely. If you are sure of a use, for example, a file transfer operation is complete, you can remove the device directly.

    Hello

    Follow these steps and check.

    (a) open 'command prompt' as an administrator (programs, accessories, right-click "command, prompt" run as administrator).

    (b) type the following without the quotes and press ENTER.

  • Photoshop CC: Workspace flashing black when inserting the Guides & completely black when adding text

Recently I bought Photoshop CC (2 days ago) and shortly after installation I jumped on Photoshop CC, and began to implement the prefferences for my personal use and started to just do some basic stuff and see what's new in the CC when insertion Guides and adding text to the workspace started to flash/stay BLACK. I don't know what is happening but my specs are better than the minimum requirements? No idea what happened? Operating system: Windows 8.1

It is a well known bug of Windows 8.

Update your video card driver from the site of the manufacturer of the GPU (NON-microsoft). If for any reason, you cannot update the video card driver, then go into Photoshop preferences and set GPU "basic" mode and restart Photoshop.
