Slot Y510p m2 NGFF SSD - drive is not identified

Hi all!

I just installed my new SSD 128 GB (MyDigitalSSD SC2 Super Cache 2 42mm SATA III 6 G m2 NGFF M2 SSD Solid State Drive 128 GB) on my Lenovo Y510p (59406634), but when I turned the laptop on the drive was not recognized by the BIOS, in management of the disks, or Device Manager. My laptop has currently the plant only 1 TB HDD 8 GB SSD Cache and it is the only drive that appears. Is there a setting in the BIOS that allows the M2. NGFF slot or a driver that needs to be downloaded? This slot machine is a 42mm housing or do I use the 50mm drive? Or is the DOA just in car?

Switched from the boot mode to include Legacy support as well as the drive has been recognized by the BIOS, etc. of disk management. I was able to install the SSD and the software cache that came with it and then switch it back on UEFI mode only wth everything works well, and also a good bit faster. A problem that I have is that I'm sometimes a sadface blue screen error when I restart or shutdown the laptop. The error message is the following:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (FNETHYBRMDSD. (SYS)

Seems to be a problem with the caching software but it's late so I'll have to do tomorrow... ugh.

You have any records? or a USB recovery?

If you cannot install an OS on your SSHD your SSHD can be defective, because it is reading it is cluster/bad sectors. A defective HDD/SSD/SSHD can still be detected (sometimes even when it is defective).

  • Qosmio G30 - SSD drives are not recognized

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-140 with two hard drives.
One with Windows 7 and the other with XP.
The system allows to start the 1st or the 2nd.

To speed up the system got two Samsung 830 Series SSD drives
    model: MZ - 7PC256.
The BIOS (BIOS ACPI version = 3.90), do not have the option and I have AHCI, I adopted

    Hello

I don t use this software Samsung SSD magician, but some people in the net reported that there is a new version of this utility in addition many people have problems using this software and this issue seems to depend on laptop but possible on the SSD drive.

As much as I know there are other tools like Driver Magician or SSD Tweaker that perform similar functions as magician Samsung SSD

  • HP pavilion b005sa SSD Drive does not show?

I just bought a hp pavilion b005sa 32 GB SSD and HDD of 750 GB. When looking, in my computer, the computer appears as below:

but there is no indication of the SSD. Anyone know where he is? Or how to access it?

Looking for a program called technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology. It will bring up a console showing the WSSD 32 gig 'speed up' the HDD main drive. The software combines in one volume so that you can't separately get the 32 GB drive to store files or something like that. It makes the system much faster startup and open frequently used files and applications much faster.

  • Portege R830 - 111 BIOS can not find the SSD drive

    Hello
Four days ago, I bought R830-111 [PT320E-00X00XPL] and a - DATA S599 2.5 "SATA II Solid State Drive 128 GB to replace the standard HARD disk drive. Unfortunately, the new SSD drive does not work with this laptop.

Several times, after several reboots disc was visible in the BIOS.
But there is not the possibility of a normal use of the SSD.
I have day laptop BIOS [BIOS360_EC140_WIN] and SSD drive. That did not help.

Can someone help and tell me how to work this SSD ADATA and Portege?

    Best regards

Have you checked if the SSD drive needs a firmware update?
In some cases, this is necessary, but in the worst cases, the SSD drive might not be compatible and this means that you need to test another :(

  • In Predator 710-G3 SSD drive

Can Helle when and where I find the disc SSD 237 GB preinstalled in my G3-710 Predator. Newly installed another 237 GB SSD drive and could not find it. Where is the devil. Of course, the additional SSD drive would not be good without accurate right holders in the quick slot so I installed in the box instead.

    Thanks, will check this place.

  • T440: m.2 speed NGFF SSD does not as expected

    Hello world

I bought the 128 GB model of the MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2 (see here). Write speeds are as expected, about 170 - 190 MB/s. However, the playback speed is capped at 270 MB/s, although it should reach well above 400 MB/s. It is confusing to me. I installed the SSD m.2 in the same location where the original cache my T440 (16 GB, SanDisk) module has been installed. "My disk info' indicates that the drive works in mode ' Serial ATA/600", as I figured first it can be flown just SATA/300, and therefore it would make sense that the playback speed is capped at "."< 300="" mb/s.="" but="" this="" doesn't="" seem="" to="" be="" the="">

Is that what I can do to improve performance?

    See you soon!

SOLUTION: Install the SSD drive in slot m2 next to one that contains the WIFI module. It will be free if you order the module WWAN / 3G. But it supports SATA III, while the slot under the battery is apparently not. In this regard, I am puzzled why Lenovo installed the module cache SATA original there.

  • 140 21 Pavilion - t All in One: SSD drive expansion slot

Lavender U motherboard has a "half-length card mini" Jack. What is a PCIe compatible location? This slot allows you to add an SSD PCIe drive to increase the capacity of drive? I was told by one person in support of HP that it would be another told me it can not be used, I am confused and do not want to invest in a SSD PCIe drive, if it does not work.  Also of a compatible SSD details, I want to add 256GB.

Thanks Big_Dave, this compensation for me. I have another question please, the installed BIOS supports AHCI if my SSD drive will show all the benefits? I think just to replace my internal drive with an SSD is not using the msata slot.

Anything else I'm missing or need to know?

    Thank you

  • Satellite R630 - 11L - sometimes did not recognize the SSD drive

    Hi all

I have a portable Satellite R630 - 11L and I just bought a Corsair F120 SSD for her, but my laptop a few times did not recognize the SSD drive and fails to start occurs. I searched on the Internet concerning the issue, but there are any topic related to my problem. in recent days, I have updated my bios but the problem remains. for example if I put the computer to sleep and he never wake ups as it should be. the blue windows screen 7 failure comes and an error message 'could not access the windows volume. If portable succesful started without problem occurs until I reeboot the computer. so most of the time I have to restart computer about 5 - 6 times to work normal. At the same time, I opened a topic on the corsair website. They told me to test my drive on another computer, so I test it on laptops, dell and hp to my friends, but there is no any problem don't like this.

So I test my ssd on an another toshiba laptop R630 which has a different hardware configurations, the problem remains that laptop too...

So I think toshiba may provide a bios update to fix this problem. This laptop really great, so I don't want to buy another.

y at - it advice to solve this problem?

    concerning

    Hi machka,.

    > I think that here is the toshiba support forum. is not here?
Here he s a Toshiba forum, that of right, but you can only chat with normal users like you and me. You will not find someone from Toshiba here.
The forum is provided Toshiba but for Toshiba users to exchange experience on different products.

So I think that the Quad is just. No one can say that every SSD is compatible with all computers. You need to understand this!
There are hundreds of different players and computers on the market and I m sure that no one can test a new computer with all SSD on the market. This is not possible, because it takes a lot of time and more expensive laptops that I think.

So if the SSD doesn't work, there is nothing that you can wait for the BIOS update.
Otherwise, you must purchase another SSD. Alternatively, you can ask a service provider allowed in your country, maybe that technicians have already experience with some SSD in Satellite R630. Just ask for that, they are the first contact for you! :)

  • SSD upgrade failed - not found boot drive

I need your help guys... I've been everywhere on the net, try different methods to clone my Windows 7 for SSD and failed repeatedly.

Here is my setup, I have a HP Envy 14 with a 500 GB HARD drive. I bought an SSD to speed things up.  I have 2 OS (dual boot),

Win7 and win 8, on which Win8 is the default operating system (according to the news of easyBCD).   I just want to clone the Win7 OS part.

    (Win7 - C drive), (Win8 - F drive) and recovery on the D drive.

I tried these t hings upafter the defragmentation and backup)

    1. While on Win7, I created a copy of the image, but strangely, thought, once the process is complete the copy of the image is Win8

I've used EaseUs to do backup and clone Drive C

Swapped with the SSD HARD drive and got a message could not find a boot disk

    2. because I failed on the first try, I formatted the SSD and opt instead for a new installation.

-J' I downloaded the ISO of Win7, swapped the (empty) SSD newly formatted

-Started on the Win7 Installer, and have the operating system installed on the SSD.

-J' thought that I was until I noticed assigned HP keys do not work, the USB drivers do not work, I could not turn on/off wifi. The reason may be the missing drivers (bloatware since the HP recovery disk - given that I didn't copy that one)

    3. after the attempts, I formatted the SSD drive. I read somewhere to use the HP recovery instead.

-J' cloned the disc to my HDD to the SSD HP recovery

-Swapped with the SSD HARD drive

-Started my laptop and not found boot drive... (even after pressing F11)

can you tell me a better way to do it?   Or if someone could point out what I did wrong, or perhaps missed?  Really appreaciate... This was bugs me for the last days...

    Hello wawipack,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you're having trouble to locate the boot device. I'll do what I can to help you! To start, make sure that you have tried all the steps in this document from HP: Solve Boot Device Error Message not

If this does not help, I suggest to do a reinstall of HP standard on the SSD. Once done, do a restore to a previous image in the OS Windows, is not using any bootable media.

These steps should help get back you on track. Please provide your results. Thanks for choosing the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • My 10.2 final cut does not recognize my Lexar 512 ssd drive which is formatted for Mac Os journaled and completely empty

My FCPX 10.2 does not recognize my Lexar 512 ssd drive,
who is formatted for Mac Os journaled and completely empty (already formatted),
He comes to see my ssd as an SD card once I click an import media.

I had once FCPX 10.0.8 and with which I was able to edit with my external Lexar 512 GB SSD drive,
that was seen as a normal external hard drive with all my projects and events.

I'm not using Time Machine, never used.

Any thoughts, why can't you do more?

Here is a screen from my drive information: http://i.imgur.com/3TrITKf.png.

  • have replaced my HARD original with an SSD drive, but now my laptop does not recognize HP support assistant?

    Dear Forum,

I replaced my original HARD with a SSD drive, but now HP support assistant recognizes my phone? The program runs but updates always fail and when I look at general specifications the serial number, product name, number of product, microprocessors, system memory, motherboard, bios system, drive hard (s), and optical drive (s) are all empty. Interestingly, it recognizes the device to display (s) as being mobile intel (R) HD graphics and current resolution of 1366 x 768 and refresh rate 60.

My laptop is an Australian model HP DV4 3029tx, which is an intel i5 14 "(2ème génération) with AMD graphics 6750" I replaced the original 640 GB hd with a 180 GB ocz vertex 2 using acronis to clone the drive.

I would be grateful is anyone know how to get hp support assistant to recognize my computer.

    Thank you very much

    Hello
    Try this: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems/HP-Support-Assistant-not-working-on-Win7/m-p/736511#M34734
I think that cloning might be the question because the original configuration has been changed. Simple uninstall and reinstall again could possibly solve the problem as well...

  • Aspire One d255 does not recognize the usb connected external ssd drive

I want to replace the original HDD 160 GB with a 120 GB Samsung ssd 750 evo but bios and win 10 does not recognize the ssd drive as an external drive connected via a usb connection, so I couldn't create an image of my internal hard drive.  Is there a way to clone my hard drive SSD, so I can exchange the disc later?  I need to update the bios, install a missing driver, etc. ?

I used two different connections: one is a 2.5 "SATA case disc that I used with a disk 2.5" HARD and works very well with the HARD drive and the other is SATA/IDE connector combination with cables for SATA and power and none of these works.  I read in another forum during my research that the Aspire One d255 doesn't recognize any external SSD connected through a USB either.  Since my netbook has no data, and I had just a pure 10 Windows installed on his drive HARD internal, I removed the 160 GB HARD drive and replaced by a 120 GB SSD and installed another Windows own 10.  It worked and my system boots now in less than 20 seconds.   We can close this thread now since I now have a faster machine fully function.  Thank you!
