Slow Pro
My pro is running slower and slower.
A major problem is I inherited this from my partner and have been using its identifier. A lot of updates is necessary, but he has forgotten his password.
I backed up my personal files now I want to erase everything and start over. Guess factory reset is the way to go. I read that do not support models pre 2011 discount online from Apple and I not all disks I thought they had become unnecessary!
Where should I go from here? Any advice gratefully received.

Hey there
I have a MacBook 13 inch 2013 Pro, who was running on the Mavericks until today. About two weeks ago, it started to slow down a lot, with the wheel of death, which appears after a few clicks. Since its launch, I have:
-checked, CPU activity monitor was really low, whenever I checked (5% to 7% for the user the system)
-Run disk utility, find some permissions and disk repair, finding nothing on the repair disk
-run clean my Mac, there is about 5 GB of stuff that could have been deleted (but I didn't delete everything he found)
-time machined to until the problem started, no change it
-run a scan for virus ClamXav, he found a suspicious file, I deleted it
-Update for Sierra, no change it
No significant changes since doing this, the machine is still slow as *, and do all this took so loooong (the antivirus scan took three days. THREE DAYS!)
Of course, I'm not in warranty anymore, I was when something similar happened last year and a part has been replaced (cannot tell the documentation all did...) Everything that you guys can think I should try before I go and pay for a repair?
Back up your Mac if you have not already done so. Read https://www.apple.com/support/backup/to learn how to do this please. When you are finished troubleshooting, you can remove the temporary user account by following these instructions: macOS Sierra: remove a user or a group. Before you delete, confirm that you have not need of all the files that you have possibly set in this account.

Why Mac Pro is slow at the opening of the apps?
Compare to the other mac, my mac pro is so slow at the opening of the apps and any other use. Memory is 4 GB and still half store is available. This place since the case open. But other Mac that we have in the House so different from mine. Should I call it Karma? Next to no where my CD player does not read any CD more. If original or a cheap it is not serious. Additionally CDs can only release by restarting my mac.

MacBook Pro mid-2012 very slow
Hello
My MacBook Pro is very slow (it has gotten worse recently). Applications to take ages to load, Firefox is hogging resources and very slow, get the focus of the mouse has a huge lag and I was spinning.
Currently I have 4 GB of RAM and is considering the upgrade to 16 GB. You run an EtreCheck report (below). Is there anything else I need to do? Why he began to be so slow after years of reasonable speed? Is there something I can adjust in Firefox?
Opening documents and get stuff done becomes frustrating!

Mid 2012 Macbook Pro with or without retinal incredibly slow
Hello, I'm typing this for my mother. It has a mid-2012 Macbook pro without the retina which is very slow. She has recently updated to 16 GB of ram, and we are all pretty sure she did her properly. He constantly beach balls and takes more than a minute to launch Safari. The fan is also strong enough now. He runs the El captain. Thank you in advance!

I'm buying a new MacBook to replace my mid-2010 MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel core 2 duo, 4 GB of memory, which always runs, but becomes slow. I don't think I need retina display (if I have a lot of photos and films on the subject), but I was told that the MacBook Pro without screen retina was an old system that Apple could not support much longer. Is this true?

Apple only can answer such a question, and the terms of use for these forums discourage us discuss what Apple plans to do.
I too have a MBP 2010. I installed an SSD and that increased performance. Consider that as an option.
You may experience other problems that slows down your MBP. Before commit you the important cash for a new MBP, examine the potential software problems that may be responsible for the poor performance. With the SSD, my 2010 works better than the day he came out of the box.

MacBook Pro very slow / EtreCheck report available

For awhile, my Mac is really slow. It takes about 2 minutes to start, apps are returned for e period very extended before the launching and execution is really slow at all. I reinstalled the OS El Capitan several times, but it's not help. The SMC thing has also been reset. Rid the MBP of the torrent application. It has an excellent vehicle to introduce malicious software on a Mac.
Start the recovery partition and select in menu 4 disk utility. Run disk utility > first aid > repair.

2011 Macbook pro running slow and beach balling
My Early 2011 Macbook pro worked extremely slow for a few months. He is lagging in the start-up and opening of all applications. It also happened to coincide with my Wifi, refusing to recognize my Macbook, he repeated that a device was already on the network with the same IP address. I tried reseting the IP address several times. But since he has never done this on other networks I received a new router this week and have not had a problem until now.
The biggest problem is the race slow, hot and delay. I have 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive. I'm running OS X 10.11.5. Any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated!

You should consider upgrading the RAM in your Mac.
There seems to be something wrong with your Wacom software. Uninstall it and see if that clears up the problem.

My Macbook Pro became much slow

I use a MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012). Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7. Memory: DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB. And I have 380 GB 500 GB free on my hard drive.
Recently, it has become so slow. And do not meet so many times. I can clearly see the difference between before and now whenever I tap on the right click or go to settings or make any simple task.
I always make sure I have disable my mac every night even though it should not be a problem to keep it in standby mode. And clean all the gains and delete files from the Recycle Bin and I got my startup apps and there is nothing that can make them slower. I thought even newly reinstallation of the system and lose all my data but I really want to lose my photos app and the order of my photos with the times and places that matters a lot to me.
I hope you can find a solution for me.

Power button on my MacBook Pro is slow.
The power button on my MacBook Pro seems to be failing. The last time I got to turn on the machine, that it does not seem to start. I had to press several times to get any action. Is it a hardware fault? Or could there be another reason why the machine is slow to start? It's a MacBook Pro 15 inch Mid-2009 running on OS X El Capitan, 10.11.3. 2.8 GHz clocked. Hello! Can anyone help me in this state of EtreCheck to understand what I need to do to improve performance with my MacBook Pro? The computer is slow to respond after the computer starts. Apps are also slow to load. Once I have apps open, the speed is satisfactory. It just seems to have the hiccups a lot just to get there.
