Slow renders

Why is it taking 14 minutes to make the 8 minute video?

2015-12-11 (4).png

The original file are turned a H.264 60 fps and I rendered out as QuickTime. It looks also great (580 MB for video 8 minutes is excessive). I need a quality QT file that is not so great. Before a few updates ago, I was able to get a project more than a hour long rendered down to a HD QT format that would be less 8 GB. I recently visited on a similar and it was ten times the size!

Thus, the rendering seems slower and files appear larger

Basically, I select any format QT and then I 'Match Source'...

I use an i7 980 x processor (6 hearts overclocked to 4 GHz) 24 GB ram and a fast drive Samsung 950 m2. I plan on the same drive that I made to (Named a disc). But I have my operating system and the programs at least on a separate SSD drive. The image shows that the CPU is the most used. But he hasn't maxed out!

I just got my time rendering up to half the time. First selected QT and then the HD 1080i preset and changed to progressive scan. This has helped almost cut rendering up to half, instead of 14 minutes, he could do it in 8. Then I started to play with the 'Bitrate settings' and those toppled 10 000 to 5 000. Now it is 7 minutes to make (a minute shorter than the actual video) and it's half the size, 300 MB instead of 600... I'll save it as a "Preset". The quality is good too, or should I say good enough... it's especially noticeable when there is a lot of movement that things get stained semi...

However, if anyone has any suggestions on how I may be able to accelerate makes upward (to part of a new processor of course...) Please share!

  • Correction of luminance, HLS and accentuation of the video effects slow rendering

Hey guys - I'm troubleshooting some very slow rendering to a 10s file MOV H264 and it takes a long time to make.  When I don't have any video effects, it takes only 15 seconds to render.  With all the effects, it takes 300 s return.  My system is an i7 - 2600K, 16 GB of RAM with GeForce GTX 560 2 GB VRAM card. By disabling effects video one at a time, I narrowed down it to the luminance, HLS and unsharp mask representing a large percentage of the churn.  Anyone else notice this and any ideas on improving it?

    Thank you very much.

    Thank you for downloading dropbox.

I have a system simular to yours. I put the sequence to 60 p.

When I turn off the GPU effects not she makes it quickly.

With the GPU not effects its slow.

So I blame it on the effects not GPU cpu at the same time.

  • Slow rendering in Premiere Pro CS4 (with a fast computer?)

Hello people on the Adobe Forums,.

I hope someone can help me with this issue, it has been bothering me a very long time now and this week I have to make a decision, or solve the problem and keep this configuration, or spend the money for a new processor (i5 750) and a new motherboard. But I think that this computer must do better, then he doesn't. I have the following configuration:

    AMD Athlon X 2 4600 +

    NVIDIA GeForce 7800GTX

    2 x 1 GB memory OCZ (250 mhz, DDR, PC2400)

    Storage disks:

WD 74 GB SATA (10,000 RPM, OPERATING SYSTEM)

Hitachi 500 GB SATA (7200 too, I think)

WD 1 TB (SATA) USB (hdd extern)

WD 250 GB SATA (7200 RPM, I think)

So I don't understand the problem, first is very slow on my computer... Rendering of a piece of 5 min of just a film randomly takes like 3 hours! Just now, I found some things that I shot with my cell phone, it like 10 sec 1 frame! On most pc with this vice versa!

So the cpu is not only the former and nor is the video card, meaby memory is a bit weak... Could it be the problem?

Hope that people can you help me, I searched Google and all but impossible to find someone with this problem...

    Marinus,

My compliments on the way in which you have documented your problem! Very, very good. I wish that more people would take your example.

Unfortunately, as you can see from the results PPBM4, your PC is a serious lack power. About 80 times slower than the top ensuring an and more specifically on the MPEG encoding. This means that, with your XDCAM, your machine hardware fights like h * l to get anything it to be delivered. Even with SD AVI material, it would be a struggle with these specifications.

The only solution I see is to get a new machine. To get a rough hint of what you face. Watch Adobe Forums: how to build PC? and realize that the version of the budget is the minimum for DV and HDV, possibly material from XDCAM-EX, but for AVCHD and DSLR equipment you would not drop below the economic model. In addition, if you go to the hyarware forum and press the "View" tab at the top of the page, there a dropdown menu with several items that might interest you. http://forums.Adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum?view=discussions&start=0

BTW, on your new system you want to clean. With all the running processes, it adds to the burden and you could do with much less overhead.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015 slow rendering time

    Hello!

I'm new to video editing in general, but I'm quite intimate with the PC hardware so here.

    Specifications:

    • The stock of 4770K i7, no thermal regulation speed
    • 8 GB 1600 MHz CL9 DDR3 RAM
    • GTX 780 + 170 MHz clock and 110% limit/95 degrees C temp power target

    I save images using shadowplay NVIDIA from a 75 Hz screen 2560 x 1080. The output file is a 1920 x 1080 60 fps 35Mbps bitrate H.264 MP4 file. (1920 x 810 with black bars).

I would add that sequences Adobe Premiere elements 14, do any editing that I have to do, and then export it to a file of bitrate MP4 1080 p H.264 12Mbps. The rendering process usually take around 10-12 minutes to 6 minutes video.

I then add this file to output in Adobe After effects CC 2015, create a composition with drag and create a button, add a few layers of text and export it via Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015 (AE supports native H.264 from what I understand) with the SAME PARAMETERS. But this time, and I estimate that I type here, render times are 40 minutes.

I ran a few tests and in the course of the first to make the CPU turns to about 80% CPU and the use of 1.8 to 2 GB, as I watch often some youtube in the meantime, so that understandeably not 100%. However, to the course to make AE/SOUL, le CPU CPU remains at about 30% CPU and 1.8 GB ram usage. With the help of the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA) I expect to see more high on my GTX 780 loads, but he is 2-3% of load, so anything.

Since my render outputs are (to the best of my knowledge) identical between the EP and shall return AE/SOUL, it seems that the use of material by SOUL is in this case. Other posters have suggested that some effects require the previous frame to be returned to pass, but I have not used such effects, are limited to simple text.

So what's happening? I would appreciate any insight you have on this and I stand ready to provide more information that you need.

    Kind regards

It is certainly useful that you said your question clearly, with a lot of info and he asked respectfully. Quantity of, "why his does not work u should help me solve this NAOW! 1. 1. ' messages with no information is astounding.

I'll try to be to condense my game data on a single disk or both and use the third exclusively for editing. Or I could buy a new one, if the budget allows.

This would be ideal. In my freelance studio, I have three separate units

    1. OS/software
    2. Footage
    3. Cache (if there are different types of player, it should be faster than you [I know your are currently all the same, it's more for future fans forum])

It will probably not help much for the rendering speed, but it should help when you're interacting.

Before moving on to something else, I want to explain what I'm doing with text. I add text and overlay video, with sometimes a few very basic motion tracking (I can't forget this feature if I need). To the best of my knowledge, PE lets just add a black screen with text over time, like on a Blackboard for example. No text overlays/over-the-video (if it has no meaning...). So respect that, Premiere Pro have these features? If so I could make the switch.

Certainly, you should stop using the Premiere Elements and start using Premiere Pro. Not only it gives MUCH more flexibility in the work, but you can layer objects of type as much as you want on top of your film.

He was also transparent enough with AE. By example, if you have a shot that you want to add text, you could cut the part that would have text and simply right-click and choose "replace with After Effects composition. That images will be replaced with a dynamic link to a model of EI that already contains the images that you are handling. You save your AE project and results will be displayed immediately on the first! It's really convenient. If you want to keep this direct link, you can. Or if you are sure you are finished with AE work and wants to read smoothly at first, you can choose to make and replace it. It restores an intermediate file to AE and replaces the model tied first with her. VERY useful feature.

If you keep track of movement, you probably want to use AE. Although you can make an animation in Premiere Pro, AE is much more suited to do. And if you start to get really fancy, you probably want to do some rotoscoping too.

    Corentin Robin wrote:

I understand that EI requires much more accurately, and the way you explained it enabled me to understand one of the big question I had with her, which was "why reading in real time is so difficult in AE? You answered that perfectly, cheers!

There is much more detail in the fact that I could get! Basically, AE must first build a cache, and then he reads. Maybe I should have said that. It is even simpler and shorter!

    Corentin Robin wrote:

On the issue of compression, I realized that the work of a compressed codec is not ideal. My gross output of Shadowplay file was indeed H.264 because I believe that is the single output file, it allows. I don't think I can do without shadowplay for now because it has unique characteristics which cannot be replaced:

    • For extremely low hardware with Nvidia drivers
    • Ability to retroactively save a video after an interesting "keep-worthy" event, to avoid recording 24/7 in the hope of something interesting

Those who do not sound like some very useful features. Just make sure that you get quality settings in the codec to achieve a data rate as it allows.

    Corentin Robin wrote:

Also, to continue on the issue of compression, I got mixed responses regarding this. Some, like you, would say that working with H.264 sacrifices quality and performance, but some say that it is not a problem since the youtube compression will be severely disfigue the file in any case.

YouTube can recompress, Yes. But if so, it adds ANOTHER layer of compression. That would be an argument even more important to preserve the quality of your side as much as possible.

    Corentin Robin wrote:

I think my question would be: I would win a much higher quality using Fraps/Dxtory where I can control the settings of the raw images (keeping in mind I lose the comfort of ShadowPlay) even though the compression of Youtube should (I think?) disfigure this film?

I think that the benefits of ShadowPlay outweigh the concerns that I had about compression in only one step. I still say don't do any other steps in making H.264s again and again that you transmit your project between applications. If you need to make something (you won't have to if you start to use together the Premiere Pro and AE), renders an intermediate codec until you create your deliverable.

    Corentin Robin wrote:

So, keeping in mind of all of your suggestions and the constraints I have / has chosen to conform to, I should:

    • Have the work files on a separate disk, with areas scratch on this drive or free
    • Replace PE PP to eliminate the need for the AE and have only a single record
    • Since a single rendition is necessary, it is therefore more a real need for an intermediate codec low compression/lossless

Yes. Although, you can still use AE, you have eliminated the need to make the intermediate files if you use Premiere Pro and AE set.

In addition the Dynamic Link workflow I mentioned, you can also (once you have finished your editing in Premiere Pro), your Premiere Pro project import into AE. Use import > import Premiere Pro control project. She puts your complete sequence in AE with each cut on its own layer. You really need to do if you started to do really complex with your AE work if.

Recently exported a 6 minute video and it took about 2 hours. Same file in another application (Camtasia) on my computer took about 12 to 16 minutes. Usually take 12 to 16 minutes in Premiere Pro, but lately, he has been extremely slow. Anyone suggestions? Anyone else having these issues?

    Hi TGthe1,

  • Slow rendered 3D object

    Hello

So I was just wondering if it is normal that the render time be as long for my project.

I have ONLY a 3D object with Live 3D plugin layer which has only rotation and position of the animation.

Duration of the project is just 9 seconds! -HD 1920 X 1080 standard size.

I have CAPS locked refresh model window so it does not calculate the inside while rendering images.

I'm renderin with better compression settings full size, without audio, RGB + alpha Animation, standard 30 frames per second.

I left a report during the night and in 12 hours of mock-up was dry 2.12 (73 images) with an estimatete to the left of 32 hours!

This seems silly to me so let me know if this is normal, especially since when I do a preview model ram (with quality quarter and project 3D preview on) it probably takes about a minute or less to make the s 9 complete overview. I do not understand how a minute in preview mode turns into 40 + hours at full quality of rendering.

So let me know any thoughts...

I'm on an i7 2.3 ghz quad core with 8 GB of ram AE 5.5 mac.

    Thank you.

As I wrote in your other thread, is just how bad PS Live 3D. You would see the difference even in Photoshop itself, too.

  • Animation modal slow rendering in chrome.

For my menu, I built an animation in a modal. The animation works great, everything is almost perfect. My problem comes with the speed of loading in different browsers. It loads instantly in Firefox and on board. I can grow hair faster it loads in Internet Explorer (I really hate on IE, I came to think that one). Chrome takes always too and I use this one. I know the size could be a problem but is not for Firefox or an edge. The only thing Else I can think of is that I do still work the local page, not on a server. Is their missing something else which explains the shift of Chrome? I'm not a pro at everything this so am I missing something easy, or is - it just a matter of the thinness of the size down optimization (I optimize all image sizes down already)?

Too bad. It was fine once on the server

  • Lightroom unusable 2016.6 of the slow

The last update broke Lightroom and unusuably slow rendering. It's the way past "atrocious", it is really unusable. Simple tasks like cropping simply do not work anymore, every movement of the cursor with one of nodes requires a second 30 update and is therefore more possible to watch the cursor movement and rectangle in real time. • By using the GPU for rendering? Get makes it faster?

I'm trying to export a 20 min video I've done in After Effects. It has a few effects of particles and some effects of Audio spectrum. When I start a Render, it shows between 20 to 30 hours to complete. If I had several machines I would have no problem with that, but I did not.

I tried most of the suggestions in the forums to try and speed up the rendering time:

    Untitled-1.jpg

    • Clasic made instead of Ray traced
    • Removed unused and sequences pre comps
    • Reduced the number of effects
    • reduced the number of precomps
    • reduced the number of expressions
    • Rendering with CUDA
    • Disabled motion blur
    • Disabilities to 3D layers.

Still, I can't take the shortest rendering time. I also tried various rendering parameters:

    • YouTube 1080 p
    • Youtube720p
    • QuickTime animation
    • Lossless
    • JPEG sequence

with no major difference (youtube 1080 p being the best)

I noticed that the SOUL does not all the power he could. It uses around 50% of CPU, but I read that may be because it doesn't have time to ramp upward before arriving at another framework.

I also notice that even using CUDA acceleration, SOUL does not use power of the GPU at ALL. I have two GTX780 and I'm sure that if it was their use he would accelerate a lot, but I don't know if we can use them and if possible I don't know how to activate it.

If you are looking for any other suggestions to speed up my rendering, or instructions for making SOUL use my GPU

    Data sheet:

    • I7 - 4790K
    • 32 GB of RAM
    • 2 x GTX780

The GPU is not rendered 99% of everything that AE. If you use the TEA to render a model of EI then AE works in the background so SOUL must leave a few resources for do you other things. With the help of SOUL is always slower rendering with the Render tail if you go to the same format, but for most of us is not a problem because we don't sit and wait for makes, work us on the next shot or move on to another project. That's the beauty of the SOUL, must never stop creating - things, you get paid for.  If it's a rush to get out the project will restore then with making Cue of EI for a codec made fast production and then run through the SOUL SOUL being much more efficient and faster video transcoding in another format.

As far as general things AE goes, temporal effects are taking the most time to render, particles also take a long time to render. Drawn to the beam with acceleration CUDA only is absolutely not supported in SOUL even if you have a correctly configured NVIDIA GPU. I know not all professionals that use drawn with RADIUS one rendered for anything whatsoever. There are much better solutions even without 3rd party effects.

I hope this helps. The best way to get something out of the door is to make a standard production format by using the mark to return and a quick to render format ensuring that you use the formats of standard production for all of your belongings in the Ant project that are all of the images used in your publication to scale to 100% at some point in your comp (a lot of people try to make photo slideshows in HD with 20 images of a DSLR MP and all of them are resized way down). Once you have your master of standard production format that fall into the SOUL to generate your deliverables.

Currently AE will not use 100% of your system resources when rendering HD or even 4 K video because AE watch only 1 frame at a time and any modern processor can easily treat an image using a fraction of its power. Then, we need to calculate everything again. Certain effects will use more memory a temporal effects and particles can quickly fill the memory, but until the basic architecture of the AE render engine is completely revamped we're stuck with makes it slow.

Just FYI a little... Many of my composite complex can take 1 or 2 minutes per image for rendering. Some have taken 5 or 6 minutes. My 'pencil tests' or movement work almost always with little or no effects just to check the appearance of the animation. I call them pencil tests, test the hosts traditional photo pencil sketches to check the action and blocking before sending frames out to ink and paint because it makes no sense to paint on a stage where you don't know if Bambi walks funny because you didn't run a pencil and ink. In any case, my 'pencil tests' or previews make usually about 7 to 10 frames per second. It's the range of my work. Most production companies who are trying to earn a living do effects and editing have a fairly strict set of standards for travel times. Only, they conceive their work to fit into this mold.

  • Enlarge size Webview and fonts

    Hello!

I have a problem with the size Webviews and the police in case there is too large images. I downloaded an image to illustrate the issue:

What you can see, is in the response of human "4get9", the has become really small font size, due to the fact that the image was too big to be displayed in the area.

Do you know if there is a way to configure the Web mode to resize images to fit inside the box and not somehow resize the size of the Web display?

Honestly, I have disabled the 'textAutosizingEnabled' in webview that could help me here, but have it activated result in all positions including different font size that look really bad...

A solution I can think of, would be to download the image of myself, check their size and resize them if necessary... And finally, I would like to provide a local address for images for Web display.

However, in doing so, I don't know really how to advise the webview completion of download image...

I could wait for the download to finish before implementing the display Web content, but that would end up in a really slow rendering of the page...

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

Without your code, it is difficult to judge what is happening here and so offer a any solution.

If it's all in HTML, then this is an element HTML, CSS or style issue isn't?

  • Update 2015 kills Multi-Processing - DO NOT upgrade.

Don't make the same mistake I did and install the update from 2015. Not only removes this update of the 'performance' multi-processing-transform your machine into 4, 6, 8 or 12 cores in a machine 1-core, but for the first time in the history of Cloud Creative, it automatically removes the previous version if you can't easily downgrade (a feature of "Remove older versions" is now enabled by default - which I don't believe existed at all before). I also had a devil of a time getting back to 2014 versions; the 'older versions' feature didn't work properly for me until I uninstalled all Adobe products on my computer.

I find it absolutely amazing that Adobe has released a version of After Effects, which is considerably slower rendering due to temporary removal (I hope) support for multiprocessing and then hailed as a release of the huge performance. By Adobe notes, which I found after trying to figure out why my renders were much slower:

"The simultaneous multiple images rendering function has been replaced by the new architecture after effects CC 2015 (13.5). The new architecture will allow a future version of After Effects to use threads processor and RAM more efficiently than the simultaneous multiple images rendering feature ever could. »

In my view, that this update should take place until the next version of After Effects is ready for release; brag about the performance improvements in After Effects at NAB and then not warning people that the release is truly making makes them their multiples is slower than before is a very questionable move.

Nothing was killed. You can use this function by keeping the previous version installed. Yes, the After Effects team agrees that the removal of previous versions by default is a bad decision. That's why we posted this:

keep previous versions installed when installing applications CC 2015

If you find the simultaneous rendering of several images of multiprocessing feature to be useful, then you can still use it after effects CC 2014 (13.2%). You can do your work in after effects CC 2015 (13.5), save the project, and then open it to the final in the previous version. In this way, you get the best of both worlds.

Replace us made simultaneous multiple images of multiprocessing with much better multiprocessing in the near future.

Many things are much faster in after effects CC 2015 (13.5). We see many advantages to make this version available now. If you want to wait and continue to use the previous version, it is also easy to do.

  • AE CS6 performance problem

I have an eccentric performance issue that I am looking for help on. I found this in AE CS5, and it's still in AE CS6, so I thought I should sue here. It is on a platform of win7. For the record, everything is fully updated and patched, including display drivers.

First of all, a context. Most of my work is interviews and classes, for the most part two cameras. Most of the interviews are one-man-band with me handling everything. A few times, I had to film in conditions of low light, resulting in a noisy capture one or two cameras. Both cameras are capture in AVCHD 1080 p 30. When we are lucky, we get one interviewee who is hinged, and has much to say, these clips can be long for long minutes. If we were talking about a second clip seven here I won't be wasting your precious time. I'm talking as much as 25 minutes of film.

What I've done so far, is send the noisy images of the body to AE via dynamic links and run the effect of "reducing grain. This isn't a problem of editing - I just disable the effect in AE so it does not interfere. But when it comes to export, a few seconds of these sequences is painful and a few minutes is ridiculous. I had one piece of 3.5 minutes take 16 hours to export, or right to 10.25 seconds for each image.

Naturally, I ran win7 Task Manager / resource monitor to see what was going on. What I've found, is that the machine was not limited - I couldn't find a bottleneck. It's a nuclei of i7 930 machine, so four eight hyper-threads. Everything works in about 20-30% in this case. I got 12 GB memory and had as much as 6 GB free. I have three hard drives and none of them were busy - the target drive, getting a continuous line of images in Scripture, but of it is average queue length was zero. The system was written only about 2 MB per second. Like I said, without bottlenecks. So, what's the problem?

I have since tried to isolate the problem. Using this same sequence, if I have AE make internal make the queue, she turns on the machine - all Hyperthreaded running hard (85-100%), all of the memory used and target the disc is hammered. 10.25 sec/frame to 1fps, it goes 10 times faster. But if I made the same images through the Media Encoder, I'm back for a very slow rendering.

It seems that when EI is called through hotlinks, it runs only on a single hyper-thread. And when AE must touch each image (as it does in using an effect of "reducing grain"), he actually makes a hyper-threaded machine eight in one hyper-thread machine. Why is this? What can I do about it?

I can't find the settings for this effect in some way. I played with memory and multiprocessing preferences without success (my best settings to aid internal queue of EI turned out be book 4 GB memory for other processes and turn on the simultaneous rendering of multiple images with the allocation of RAM / CPU at 1.5 GB resulting 4 hyper-fils used for this background). Y at - it the parameters for this effect?

In summary, if I turn off the grain effect to reduce in AE and the export of the body, the machine blazes far and finished my export of 3.5 minutes in about 35 minutes. If I turn on the effect of grain reduction, it takes more than 16 hours to do the exact same job. If I turn just 3.5 minutes of the camera which needs the grain effect to reduce, with ME directly (taking the body of the equation), it takes the same 16 + hours.

So I think that it is a performance problem with AE and how it works with dynamic linking.

Certainly I'm not the first person to see it. So, I hope that there is good workaround solutions. I don't want to make an intermediate AE file if there are good alternatives. This is a workflow that dynamic binding was supposed to eliminate. In addition, I want to avoid re - compress these files, and I don't have the disk space to make an intermediate file lossless image I (even a CODEC moderately compressed as Cineform generates more of 10 x).

    Suggestions? Please?

Nothing to correct because nothing is broken. Read it here at the end down.
