Slow to initialize at startup Ethernet

Lately, at the start, my mac connects to the network. It is wired for good than ethernet, but for some reason it takes a long time for the internet initialize; Sometimes the minutes. No problems one after the connection is established and AHT has not revealed internal hardware problems. Below are the specs for my machine. I use a modem arris and an Airport Extreme. Don't know if the problem is in the router and do not know how to test that. The delay seems to increase over time. Advice?

Network Utility.app (included on your Mac) can show you the speed and meter real connection to any network connection error.

If this is not present in

/ Applications/utilities

It is located in:

/ System/Library/CoreServices/Applications

Your connection should be at the expected speed and there should be no more than a handful of initial errors and no reason continues to errors.

I had this problem too and couldn't find an answer: what I found was that I tried to install and failed.   When I looked in the C:\ drive, I found a temporary installation directory.   Here's what I did to clean:

    (1) keys to success (Windows + R) and type c:\ (or whatever your system drive is)

    (2) look for a folder named WINDOWS $. ~ BT

    (3) Rt click on the folder and rename to OLD_ WINDOWS$. ~ BT (it won't erase without admin perms, so you'll need to clean it up later.

    (4) to open the Task Manager (click on rt on the Windows Start bar, select Task Manager)

    (5) find and select "Installation of Windows 8 (2)" or "Installation of Windows 8.

    (6) choose end task

    Result:

Try running the installer again and see if it works now.   If so, when you're all finished, don't forget to go back on your C: drive and delete the OLD_$ WINDOWS. ~ BT Directory

  • Laptops slow to start with cable ethernet is plugged

    All,

I have some users who have received some news running Windows 7 pro 64 bit laptops HP (850 G1)...  They are all part of a domain.  When they can start their laptop with the connection Ethernet is connected, it takes a lot of time for them to move to control alt del screen then to their work stations once they put in their password.  These laptops are equipped with SSD.  It should be very fast to start.  Do not take a few minutes.  I watched the LAN NETWORK interface card in Network Center and sharing, and instead to show the name of the domain, that he showed "network 2".  If I disable the NIC and then reactivated it, it displays then the name of the domain and all readers network returns to the top and everything was quick.  So, if I take the network cable, and then start the laptop it starts super fast.  So it seems that the laptop is looking for the field from the start, but can not find, causing it to slow down way.

I updated the driver for the CARD, without change.

Directly connected Ethernet laptop computer, without going through the docking station, without change.

Restart the Small business server, no change domain controller.

Cisco Anyconnect VPN disabled at startup, no change.

Anyone know what is happening or you have any other suggestions?

    Thank you

  • Re: Performance very slow Satellite C855-1GN - startup procedure takes 15 min

My sister bought a Satellite C855-1GN installed with Win7 64bits in December (typical - 4 days of warranty now) and for a time found it getting more slower.

She asked me to take a look for her, and she is quite right, that this laptop is appalling insensitive to even the most basic tasks such as opening Windows Explorer, which takes more than a minute to open.

It's a similar story about any button on this machine, sometimes longer depending on what has been clicked. Getting even the startup thing of press office being visible (and even less usable) takes a staggering 15 minutes more.

Text input, such the password of user to connect to Windows, or a URL in any browser (IE and chrome installed by default) causes the circle of rotation equivalent to an hourglass at least 60 seconds before anything happens, as does pretty much any click button. For example, Windows Start button or right click on anything whatsoever.

Initially, I suspected some kind of malware / too much garbage installed. A ran full scans, no problem. Disabled / uninstalled all the bloatware, that I could find, still no difference.
Close all the features, always terribly slow for energy savings.

Windows experience / Task Manager / resmon all report nothing out of the ordinary or anything by eating resources. In desperation, provided Out Of Box Experience with the help of the hidden restore partition... who took more than 24 hours to complete, and is not an exaggeration.

I went to bed, then work during the day, and he had not yet finished until I had been home for a couple of hours.

This machine now has a completely new (although specific Toshiba) install Win7, and runs just as horribly slow. I'm still waiting for the office, 17 minutes after power on before typing this. It took several resets and is yet to install anything.

6 GB of RAM is ample. While not a P3, 5 or 7, there is no way that an Intel B950 double heart clocked to a class, certainly not top than 2.10 GHz can be this slow (that is a few months ago), I had the terrible Celeron in my time, which were infinitely faster than that.

Has anyone else had a performance of same pathos of this model? If so, we are anyone of you is able to solve it? Or should we bin just this paperweight?

    Hello

In the past, we've discussed several times on similar problems, and some people were dissatisfied with the performance of the portable nine pre-installed with original recovery image.
Small example, you can check this thread. In general it is described you can do with this machine. You, I prefer to use the word optimize operating system preinstalled. It will run better and faster.

Otherwise it can also be problem with HARD drive. If your sister love this machine, I recommend a small investment in new hardware. Exchange HARD SSD drive. SSD aren't so cheap anymore so you can buy one, I would say, with 250 GB and I think that there is enough free space for their work.

You can't imagine how fast they are. I use on my old P500. Laptop starts in just 40 seconds.

I m pretty sure with new SSD and optimized original Win7 that you got your sister with this laptop will have a good and pretty fast machine.

  • How to initialize a cDAQ Ethernet (9188) to autostart?

    Hello

I have a LabVIEW program that performs tasks DAQmx (pre-configured via NI MAX). The material is a cDAQ-9188, connected directly to the laptop via an Ethernet cable. Both machines have static IPS (same subnet).

    Question

Whenever we turn on the machines, NI MAX notes that the cDAQ-9188 is reserved and running. However, the C Series modules are reported as Absent (error-88705 code: "the specified device is not present or is not active in the system.) The device cannot be installed on this system, may have been disconnected or may not be installed correctly")

As a result, the LabVIEW program generates an error, because the physical channels required by the DAQmx tasks are not.

    Workaround

Each time we spend in the entire system, we're going to MAX OR -> my system-> devices and Interfaces-> devices network-> OR cDAQ-9188 and click "post."

The test always succeeds and seems to be a sort of boot behind the scenes. After this step, the LabVIEW program works without any problem.

    Questions

    1. This behavior is expected? If this is not the case, what could cause this?
    2. Is there any way to automate this initialization, so that the user does not need to click on "Self test" after each cold start?

    Hi JKSH,

You can the make a self-test program.

I wouldn't say that it is an expected behavior. What has helped here, was a repair DAQmx and LabVIEW. But before do you I'll make sure that you have the latest drivers.

  • Cannot modify startup programs - very slow laptop computer at startup.

Hi my laptop is running slow at startup, so I thought I would "change the startup programs" via the control panel.

I get the message 'Windows Defender is disabled' then when I try to turn it on it freezes.

    I have Microsoft Security Essentials.

This question was asked several times but no answers that I can see.

    Thank you

MSE disables Defender by default, MSE has its own integrated version of Defender.

You can try this from Microsoft:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

    See you soon.

  • Slow to initialize Media Player

    Home Premium SP2.
This problem has been for a long time. Too lazy to try to find a solution.
If I start Windows Media Player, first time of the day, it takes unreasonale time to initiallize.
Once it started, I could shut down, rebooted, and it would play quickly.
Question: in any case to fix long initialization?

I had done sfc and chkdsk only a week ago.

    t-4-2

    Hi t-4-2,

Look for third-party codecs installed and anything in playlists, especially things that a) doesn't exist more or b) are on the disks in network, as the likely sources of this delay. Because he was"a while", it can be difficult to isolate the cause, you'll have to think about what has been installed before the slow down.

Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

Could Adobe Flash Player be the cause?
Yesterday after trying to find out why it was so hard to do computer back mode 'sleep', Solution Center sent a report about Adobe Flash Player not installed correctly. It gave me a link to uninstall and then reinstall.
Result: Wake the system from standby mode today, seems to have worked quickly.
After reading you reply, I played music in my Media Player, he turned and player quickly.

Maybe a one coincide, but it works correctly now. I wonder about tomorrow.
    Thank you.

  • Message pane Thunderbird very slow to load at startup RESOLVED caused by software malware newpoptab

The use of Thunderbird 38.3.0 Windows 7

When I run Thunderbird, the tools and the right folder pane display bars outside, but the message pane is not empty - no column header, no list of messages. It stays like that for about 15 seconds. Then the headers and the message list view, and after that, I get my new email. There is no performance problem after that, everything works as it should. There is only a problem at startup.

    I regularly compact mailboxes and I uninstalled/rebooted/reinstalled.

This problem started two days when my browser has been hijacked and trying to undo, I thought that I might have deleted something Thunderbird needs, so I reinstalled, but that it was not fixed.

Any ideas on how to fix it? And thank you...

Just to close this issue - as mentioned in my original post, this problem started when a browser hijacking, and it took a few days to finally get cleaned. This Thunderbird problem disappeared when the last of the malware newpoptab has finally cleaned out of the registry. So, in fact, a step in the process of cleaning of Firefox has solved this problem.

  • Equium to slow to initialize and crashing

The computer is stuck in Internet explore and offline. Its very slow to present and crashes.
The applications were not open but manuely 'Google desktop', 'Fine print', "SpywareDoctor" boxes appear with the message "not responding" and "end of program".

One of these error reports reads as follows:
    "szAppName:swdoctor.exe,
    szAppVer:3:3.5.0.478
    SZ Mod name: hungapp
    szModVer:0.0.0.0.
    offset: 00000000

    Hello

It seems that the swdoctor.exe caused the crash problem.
AFAIK the swdoctor.exe is the executable for Spyware Doctor from PC Tools. It is an anti-spyware application.
The easiest way would be to remove this application from the operating system.

Try and test whether the operating system is running without these programs.

  • Slow down webpage loading w/Ethernet connection

    Hello

I have a Z580 Ideapad with an internet connection cable 30mbps (under Win8.1). I tested the modem cable with a number of laptops in my house, and the Ideapad is the only one that expires on a regular basis on the loading of Web pages.

    What I tried:

    1. Update Realtek Ethernet driver to the latest version

    2. changed to the servers DNS of Google ads (no difference in cable operators)

3 power settings changed to High Performance (rather than the balance or the setting of the battery)

    4. disabled IPV6 on the ethernet adapter

The problem seems to be random. Pages will load more quickly, and then suddenly they all then expire (such as google and sold). When I ping the url and the ip address, then they expire during these periods.

The problem is definitely with the laptop and not as such cable connection. The modem has no need to be reset, the other laptops in the House of pages Web loads normally.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
