Small Business VPN

The ultimate goal is to be able to access my intranet in my small business from a remote location. When I'm at the store, I can access the network through 'My computer' and see my network printer and files stored on the server. I want to be able to access this network from remote locations in order to then print in my store and work on projects that I recorded on my server. I work from my laptop to the home school, various locations, Hotels, etc. then what I understand will continue to change my IP address. If I am not mistaken, this means I have to start a VPN and open a DMZ. If anyone else knows how differently, please let me know.

I set up a virtual private network to my store on my work computer and set up on my laptop using the VPN Wizard in windows. But I'm short the problems getting through my router. I have Windows Vista Business on my work PC and windows home 7 on my laptop. The internet in router Belkin F9K1102 v1000 before going to my work computer and goes through an Actiontec GT701-WG gateway. Belkin support sent me the instructions to turn the DMZ and define virtual server ports. I think I have about this law, still trying to figure out the incoming port information they gave me because it has been translated into English by a computer program. They said four inbound ports allow and then gave me a bunch of numbers:

TCP 1723 PPTP 443 SSL 10000
UDP 1701 L2TP, 500, 50 & 51
Written just like that in the email. I recognize the TCP and UPD, just use the 1723 and 1701 and what are the rest of the numbers? Do I need to set up a DMZ on the bridge too? Any help would be appreciated.

The native PPTP VPN server on the Vista desktop needs than the TCP 1723 Port forwarded. Close the other ports. It said that there are also protocol 47 GRE traffic to pass through any firewall/router that VPN server is behind. Some barrier-lights/routers call Pass Through PPTP or VPN Pass Through or as the pass of Windows Firewall that automatically if the TCP 1723 Port is open. This page has troubleshooting at the end.

http://theillustratednetwork.MVPs.org/Vista/PPTP/PPTPVPN.html

If any firewall/router does not pass the GRE protocol 47 traffic, you must replace the device or switch to a newer firmware to fix the problem.

Affecting the VPN server in the DMZ, he exhibited to the public internet. Normally I should not do so because of security risks.

An alternative might be to use the function of TeamViewer VPN. TeamViewer note is NOT free if used for commercial use.

No, it is not possible to send traffic to vlan via VPN on a series of SA500, but you can create a tunnel for each subnet, you need to pass traffic.

Spoke about this problem at U.S. Robotics and did all the troub; e SHOOTING they asked and their answer is maybe to try to reinstall the Fax Server service. It seems resonable? If I do what are the procedures that I must take inorder to completely remove the Fax Server Service in order to get a clean reinstall of it? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • T200v server with Windows Small Business SERVER 2003

Just ordered a server TS200v, can I install Windows Small Business SERVER 2003 on this server, or do I have to upgrade to Windows SBS 2008?

    Hello

SBS2003 is not officially supported, I think that 2008 alone is. You can try but might be a problem with some drivers.

I need to access a copy of the Small Business Server 2011 Standard edition since the MSDN site, in order to help one of my clients.

They have SBS 2011 standard installed on their network and I'm going to make some big changes to their network. To do this I need to access the installation (file ISO DVD) on MSDN disc. They have the product key, but not the original disks that were used to install SBS 2011 Std.

  • User logged on the server over the RDP session - Small Business Server 2011 x 64

We have a Small Business Server 2011 standard x 64.  We have the configuration of the remote desktop on port forwarding in the firewall to allow a user to connect to this server using RDP remote desktop.  This isn't a server terminal server.  No, there are no available Remote Desktop Manager settings.

When the user connects through the RDP application and connects to the server.  If the users session is idle for 15 minutes, the user is connected to the server (not disconnected the RDP session, just to connect to the server).  The user must log into the server every time that happens.  We tried adjusting the Remote Desktop Session Host settings and changed the Session time limits, but this isn't the parameter we are looking for.  We have looked extensively through the default domain group policy and see nothing active to this behavior.  We examined local group policies and studied the session time limits in the user and computer configuration > policies > models Admin > RDP >... session host and it is has anything configured here which could trigger this behavior.

Yet once, it connects the disabled user, not closing the remote session.  We have also examined the user account for this user and looked for resume posting require logon settings (although with SBS, it is not even there to adjust the display settings).  I had partner Microsoft supports focus on this during one hour (he didn't use too much of my time to support) and they have been unable to resolve within an hour.

    Help, please!

  • CRM using SQL database in an environment of small business often inaccessible with the following error message

    Hello

This is my first time on this forum so bear with my ignorance!  I'll expose the background of my setup and then explain the error.

We have a small business with a server running SBS2011 and PC running Windows 8 and 8.1 connected to the server in a domain environment.

We use a CRM product called Emu Tall that uses SQL Server 2008 R2 on the server for the database and the PC run a local application that connects to this database.

On a daily basis, but completely randomly and sometimes several times a day, a user will try and open the application on a PC and get the following error message.

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlEnum, Version = 10.0.0.0, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = 89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file.

At first, I thought it must be a matter of waiting time as it seemed to happen every morning, but I've proved since that it occurs at any time of the day and is apparently unrelated to amount of users or idle time or something like that.

Here's another oddity that hopefully sheds some light on it. If I go to the server and open the CRM application on the server, it works very well since it is only the PC that have the connection problem.  In addition, as soon as I connected to the server of any PC can connect immediately (until it happens again later in the day).  I don't need to stay connected to the server, connect one time and close the session and he "fixed" it for a few hours for all PC users.

I contacted the CRM vendor, and they are completely confused and have no idea what to do.

We are trolling along at the moment with me opening a session on the server for launch launch whenever a user receives the error message but it is far from satisfactory.

A final observation is that it does not always.  It used to work fine.  The problem began just two months ago and seems to coincide with the increase in our user from 5 to 12 users license even if the CRM provider swear that it is nothing to do with the license.  They may agree; I don't know enough to argue the point.

Any help will be appreciated! I'm sure it will be a simple solution and someone there will know why and the answer immediately but is elusive at this time.

  • best configuration for Small Business Server

I'm looking for advice on HW and SW recommendations for a small business.  We have 15 users, 20 computers and 3 printers.  I currently have a single Windows Server 2008.  I want to run a domain controller main for all users, file sharing, print server, possibly Windows Update Center and eventually MS Exchange.  I am trying to decide the best configuration of HW with a fairly cheap budget.   I currently have 1 I7 based server with 4 GB of Ram, several IBM servers, P4 306 m (I have 4 +), and a lot of hard drives (all in a half rack).  I also need a decent backup system.

Can anyone recommend the best configuration of HW player and hard?  Should I analyze server roles?  With respect to the SW, I'm a non-profit and use Windows Server 2008 (at a discount)

    Thank you

  • The Hard Drives on Windows Small Business Server 2003 upgrade

I have a Small Business 2003 Server with RAID 0 with two drives hard exisitng 160 GB.  I want to update the server space and replace the two hard disks to the existing with two new drives of 1 TB.  I have a picture of the existing and once the new disks are set up, I would like to upload this image to the new.  I would appreciate help on this topic, since this will be my first time upgrading.  I think I should mirror the exisitng, remove these 160 HB disks and install the two new drives in their place without touching the RAID configuration, or I have to go in the RAID controller and let the controller to find them.  then, use a startup disk to point to the image on an external USB drive and let the RAID the rest?  I'm on the right track?  Help, please.
