Smart album with face East/includes returns no results

System specifications:

2012, mac Mini, 16 GB RAM, Core i7, El Capitan, Photos v1.3

I recently tried to create a new Smart Album with the following rules:

Face is (OR includes)

The date is in the range of 01/01/2015 to 31/12/2015

Even though I KNOW there should be results, Photos Returns none. If I remove the filter from the Face, I get all the pictures of 2015, as you would expect.

I have a Smart Album that is put in place as this for each year - previous have been imported into iPhoto, which was able to handle this without problems. When I tried to open these, all the pictures inside of them were no longer part of the album. They were always in my library, but were no longer in the Smart Album.

If I try to create a Smart Album with face IS NOT and a range of dates, I get all the pictures of the year DO NOT include the person. Therefore, it seems that only try to INCLUDE faces is broken.

I read a thread where someone had a similar problem and it has been suggested - apparently with some success - the filter of the Face has been changed to a text. I tried this and still have nothing.

Is it a known issue on the Photos, is there a solution?

The faces rule works on its own - a smart album with only 'face includes... '. » ?

For me, it's the Face or Face includes constraint works well in Photos 1.3.

  • Question: smart album with no keywords

    Hello

I keep my pictures organized by keywords.

When organizing my library in iPhoto, I used a smart album named any keyword with condition 'keyword is not.

Is there a way to do this in Photos?

It seems there is no option to 'none '.

    Thank you

There is no documented option to create an album smart wih "keyword is not".

You can use a work cycle: rename all of your keywords to start with a fixed prefix "k::" or similar.  And search for photos with "text does not include" k:: "to find the photos without keywords."

  • How to create two different smart albums with photos with the same date?

I created a smart album by using 'Date is' and ' keyword is EAA.»  (The photos have a keyword like "EAA" or "Flower".  Photos of keyword EAA & flower have the same date.)  When I use "Corresponding to all" are has no pictures in the album.  When I use "Match any" all the photos are in the album - EAA & flower.  I would like an album with only pictures of CEA for that date and another album with photos of flower with the same date.

I get the same answer.  I can get the date and to a key word to work with 'all' selected, but not date and keywords.  So you will need two smart albums: one with date and ECA ('all' selected) and the other with date and flowers ('all' selected).

Use the file menu option ➙ new Smart Album.

  • Help with the query to return the results of the group in the table?

    Hello
Im a total noob, so please be nice...!

I'm looking around a table contains a column of WORD and a WORD_TYPE_ID column.
Words can have the same type_id.

What I'm trying to do is to write a query that will return the longest word for each word_type_id.
I tried for hours to get it and everything seems to get is two error messages or just the longest word in the whole WORD column.

Is the furthest I can get before things break down...

    Select Word
    table
    where
    Length (Word) =
    (
    Select
    Max (length (Word))
    table
    )

Any help on this or if I could be pointed in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Welcome to the forum!

    Here's one way:

    SELECT word_type_id
, MIN (word) KEEP (DENSE_RANK LAST ORDDER BY LENGTH (word)) AS longest_word
    FROM table_x
    GROUP BY  word_type_id;

If there be a tie in some word_type_id (i.e. 2 or more words have exactly the same length, which is the longest in this group) the expression above will return the first one alphabetically. (This is what means here MIN.)

    You almost had it.
As you have noticed, you get the longest line across the table. This is because your subquery was watching the entire table.
If you to correlate the subquery to the row in the main table, as shown below, you can get the longest word in each group:

    select word
    from table m -- m for main
    where length (word) = (
                                select max (length(word))
                   from table
                   where word_type_id = m.word_type_id -- New
                   );

  • Smart albums missing after upgrade to 10.11.1 (iPhoto for pictures)

    Hey people,

I recently updated my OS to 10.11, backup of my iPhoto on an external HD libraries.  After copying the libraries to return to the folder of photos, then raise Photos, just what some of my smart albums are missing.

In addition, many of my pictures seem to have their error keywords.  I tried to redo one of smart albums, and he ended up including lots of pictures which shouldn't be there.  I hit apple - I to get the info on the photo and I noticed several photos in a row that were not supposed to be there all had the same exact keywords which they shouldn't have.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Update:

I did a smart album with one of the wrong keywords and found that the keyword was applied to a very limited number of photos.

  • Smart albums

    Hello

You can create a smart album that allows you to see all the pictures in a given month. I know that you can make one in a date range, but I want the picture taken in my library for leash knowledge January!

If you want to see all photos taken in January, try a smart album with the rule ' text includes January. "

  • Smart album, creating criteria of dates wrong

Created smart album criteria evil in Danish local range - it uses silently JJ/MM/AAAA while displaying the DD/MM/YYYY.

In the Danish version of Photos, dates are displayed JJ/MM/AAAA (photos) which is correct. When you create a new smart album with a date range of, say, 12/01/2014 to 01/01/2015 I spend January 1, 2015, obviously erroneous, 12 January 2014.

Thus, the error is that dates are displayed correct for the locale, but the entrance to the date range in the creation of the smart album is in the order of US.

    How to fix this?

FYI: I am reposting this question who hails from 2015 because there is no immediate solution.

    Best

    Alexander

Try to use two separate rules:

    All the

    Date is later than

    and

    The date is before

    For the date range.

  • Photos crashes during smart album

This afternoon, I wanted to make a new smart album, as I do almost every month, but now more precisely for the month of July, which started today...

Anyway, I have this folder structure: photos of the year & month/2016 / in which I wanted to create 201607 (juli) <-Dutch for July.

Creating smart album without problem, being within the range of the 07/01/2016 to 07/01/2016, and I tried to change the last 17 (1 July, the European notation) 317. Photos closes unexpectedly.

Reopened and retried: Photos once again crashes.

So I decided to repair the library first. Photos accidents and then retried.

I then booted from an external hard drive and did a lot of maintenance: DiskWarrior, DriveGenius, TechToolPro...

Restarted internal drive, launched Photos and tried again: pictures of accidents.

    I ultimately:

    -double smart album of last month;

-replaced by 201606 (juni) 201607 (juli) and settings from 6/1/2016-2016/06/30 to 07/01/2016 to 07/31/2016 and bingo: I now have the smart album, I wanted to.

So I solved my problem, but the question remains if this is a bug or not. I - of course - sent Apple crash reports.

What pictures happened there was a lot of accident reports for the smart albums with a rule of date range. He was depending on the location. The accidents that happened if the primary system language was not English, for example, the French or German.

Workaround was to replace the rule of the two separate rules date range date: Date is later to... And the date is before...

Your problem could also be caused by the problem of the language?

  • Adding Favorites to the Smart Album

I have a bunch of pictures, and they were all taken on March 7, 2016. And there are 500 of them.

And only 150 of them are "Favorites" with the symbol of the heart.

So how can I configure my selections smart albums for taken March 7, 2016 FAVORITES are all in the SMART ALBUM?

There is no drop-down list in the smart album to Favorites.  What is happening is that all 500 photos taken March 7, 2016 will appear in the Smart album.

Open your favorite smart album, select all the pictures and assign a key word, 'XXXX '.

Now create a smart album with the following criteria:

    Key word is 'XXXX '.

    The date is 03-07-2016.

  • Smart album by date range does not select all the pictures, it should.

I created a Smart Album with a range of the year.

Some pictures appear in the Smart Album, but others do not, even though their information shows that their date corresponds to the range.

I tried a repair of the photo library database, but that did not help.

Try breaking the rule of date range: a buggy behavior reported in some language settings.

    This version shows more photos?

  • Exclude specific 'face' of the smart album?

Is it possible to create a smart album that includes pictures of several people (using 'faces'), but not pictures which may include a specific other person who may appear in some of these photos. For example, I would a smart album that includes all the photos of my brother, sister and parents (using 'faces'), but excludes all the photos that include the 1st wife of my brother.

    David

I think that you'll just have to put in place of the rules in the process of creating smart albums.

There is a rule for faces to create smart albums. You can use the "Add rule" button in the upper right of the dialog box to create a Smart Album. You will need to add a rule by individual faces. With faces, there is a 'is' and the option 'is not. The order could play a factor in the execution of the rules so try putting the old sis in law first or last. If all goes well, one of those who will work.

    Good luck

PS. you might want to try first with a single inclusion and exclusion. If it works, continue to add more inclusions you govern together.

  • Smart Albums don't Show Up On iDevices, Correct?

It seems that Smart Ablums do not appear on any iDevices, buffers, phones, etc.

At least, I can't to the display on my phone.

Is that how it is supposed to work?

Or y at - it a way to get the smart Albums on my iPhone or iPad?

It seems that Smart Ablums do not appear on any iDevices, buffers, phones, etc.

At least, I can't to the display on my phone.

If you synchronize the devices with iCloud photo library, Yes.  Then only the standard albums will be synchronized to iOS devices.

Photos on iOS does not support smart albums.  If I need a smart album special on my iPhone I copy the smart album in a standard album. The iPhone will show the standard album.

If you mainly use smart albums in the Photos on your Mac, you can sync to the iPhone or the iPad, if you synchronize devices using iTunes and clear iCloud photo library on iOS devices.  With iTunes photo sync, you can download the albums selected to iOS devices, including smart albums.

I use iCloud photo library on the iPhone but not the iPad. For the iPad I synchronize the albums selected using iTunes. In this way, I got all the pictures in full resolution stored locally on the iPad and I can browse them easily, without having to download from iCloud.

  • How can I make a smart album of group my photos of stick selfie?

I'm using the selfie MPOW stick and my iPhone 6.

Photos for Mac has a built-in smart album 'Selfies' which brings together all the photos taken with the front camera.

If you want to tweak this album, create your own smart selfie album by searching for 'Camera model includes iPhone' and 'text includes before '.

  • Smart albums show is not on Air iPad and iPod Touch 6

I have a Macbook Pro (end of 2013), an Air of iPad and iTouch.  Only Albums will display on iPad and iTouch.  I have all my photos (29 000), sorted by smart Albums using keywords.  No matter if I sync via Wifi or USB, no. smart Albums will show!  What I am doing wrong? When I want to create collages on iPad or I won't maintain a smart album AND a normal album of the same name.  But I can't view the smart albums on my iPod 6th generation.  Why is this?  I sync via Wi - Fi and even when I sync via USB on my Macbook Pro on Macbook Albums are not listed the same when looking on my iPod.  Smart Albums do not at all show.  Had to create a normal Album.

If you use iCloud photo library on the iPad, only the standard albums can be synchronized, because the Photos.app on the iPad does not support custom smart albums.

To synchronize your smart albums for mobile devices I would return to the synchronization with iTunes Sync Photo.  (Photos of sync for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support).  It will transfer the photos from your smart albums as well.

But this requires that you disable iCloud photo library on your iPad.   If you decide to disable iCloud photo library, first be sure to select 'Download this Mac originals' in the iCloud Photos preferences pane, then all your original photos can be downloaded from iCloud to your iPad. Be sure to leave your originals to download before shutting iCloud library completely.
