Smart collection includes bad photos

Hello

Lightroom 6 / 10 Windows

I have a smart collection with a basic filter included all files that have the keyword 'area '.

It works, but it also adds in all the photos of my friend "Claire".

What can I change to make things?

Instead of "Contains", use "Contains words."

  • How do I create a smart (smart) collection of all photos taken at date of Christmas for all years (all of 24 December)?

I like to create a smart collection of all photos taken from a specific date as December 24, for all years!

It is very tedious to do that in Lightroom without a plug-in.

I think that the plug-in filter everything from John R. Ellis can create this collection without penalty (I don't know if it creates a smart collection or a regular collection).

  • Smart Collection showing bad pictures

I built a smart collection that's my pictures without a title, but the photos with titles are also displayed. The condition that I use is "title contains words." Can be a help for this? Do I need to add other conditions? I do not use one of the conditions at the bar of 'search' at the top of the library Module. I am trying to build my own workflow using smart Collections.

    Mike

I do not have the option of "title contains words", my option is "Title" and "does not contain", i.e. without the word "words". There is an option "contains the words" but "does not contain words '.

I have the same smart collection that works well. My settings are like this:

You can also use lowercase letters in the third field.

You don't need the first two lines. They restrict the smart collection to a certain folder and image files that are not of the JPG.

PS. Oh, I see. You put 'words' in the third field? It does not work. Then all the images with titles that does not contain the word "words" will appear - probably all.

  • Filter or Smart Collection by time Photo taken

I had a good look for an answer to this, but not found anything. Unless I'm missing something obvious I think that there is no solution (yet).

Is Lightroom 3.4, there a way to filter or set parameters for a smart collection, based on the time that a photo was taken?

For example, if I want to see all my pictures taken between, say, 18:00 and 19:00.

It would be for large groups of pictures, so sorting by capture time, and then selecting manually would be inappropriate. I am looking for an automated solution.

    Thanks for any help.

    Adrian

I don't think there is a solution to this (I tried a text search, nothing done).

  • Smart collection for photos with the same capture time

    Hello

I wish to have a smart collection for the photos I took to make HDR.

These photos were taken of view/captured sequentially, therefore, most probably have almost the exact same time (perhaps even within the same second).

-Is it possible to create a smart collection for these photos?

(I know the collection could also include pictures I didn't mean to, but even when most of the potential HDR photo would be there...)

    Thank you!

    Boolis.

A good way to make this selection for HDR/Pano is to select all the potential picture in library/grid and then use the command "Auto-pile by Capture time.  You can then place them in collections.

  • Cannot view smart collections on another computer

I generated about smart collections a dozen photos on an external drive. This has been done on my laptop.

When I try to view the smart collections with the disc mounted on my desktop, I get the error message "target collection folder is not found." Sometimes it will say purge the cache, which I did several times, to no avail. I know that the smart collection data on the hard drive of the laptop. Is it possible to put it on the same drive as the pictures?

When I return to the laptop, all is well again. Is there a way to see the collections on both computers?

Is there a way to see the collections on both computers?

I'm not sure but I think it's possible. Bridge is very specific user and a collection and smart collection is nothing else than a bunch of aliases. The files are on the same drive as the other end is different.

You can copy the collection file itself (on a Mac: user library / application support / Adobe / Bridge CSxx / collections to the other system in the same place, but I still don't know if it would work it is also a bit of a PITA to keep searching and copying of these files.)

My workflow would be to create new folders on the external drive and select the collection in the content window. Use select all, then copy (or move, some workflow suites you) files in the new location. These new records can be selected in both machines. Is not ideal, but for now I don't see what that be better

  • Lightroom CC smart Collections - keywords - bringing in other Photos

    Hi all

I'm having some problems with Collections smart Lightroom - would really appreciate some help with this.

I've implemented a Smart Collection using the keyword "windows and doors".  He brought in all of tagged "windows and doors" my photos but it also brought in many other photos that do not have this keyword.  I thought that maybe it's that he straightens out the word "and" which could be included in another keyword, but this is not the case.

As far as I see it is the only criterion I have set for the smart collection but just can't establish why she brings to all other photos.

Any help with this will be appreciated.

Another possibility is to not use smart collections at all.

In the keyword list Panel, hover your mouse over "Windows and doors" and click on the arrow to the far right. It is the best way to find pictures with a particular keyword, in my opinion.

The problem by using a smart collection and "contains all the" is it does not permanently select photos that have the keyword "windows and doors", he can always choose other keywords such as (invents) "Microsoft Windows and back doors. But in another example more realistic, if I key words for "New York" and "York", all of which are two cities in the State of New York (Yes, it is really a York City, New York), and they have the name of the city as a keyword and the name of the State as a keyword, and then search for the "New York" with "contains all the ' there are pictures of the two cities." There is no ambiguity when using the method of keyword list Panel, you will get only the photos for the keyword you want. So if I select the keyword 'York' via this method, I only get the photos with the keyword "York" and no photos with the keyword "New York."

  • Photos with indicator does not show in the Smart Collection

    Hello

I scored a few photos with the P key, and I want to show them (with the other creterias) in a smart collection. So I build a smart collection with the Pick flag is marked. But no pictures appear in my smart collection... Why?

If I do the same thing with the rejected flag, they appear in the collection...

Any idea? I have to check the consistency of the database or what?

    Thank you

    Screen Shot 2012-01-22 at 2.46.32 PM.png

Yes, you have. The indicators are local non-smart Collections. Your smart collection will find only pictures that are selected in folders or other smart collections.

This will change in the LR4, where the flags will be more local.

  • Smart collection - stacked photos and keywords parents

    Hello world!

I'm playing with smart collections and wonder there is a possibility

-to filter photos stacked and / or the first (front) image of a stack of photo...

-to filter a parent keyword that is not assigned itself-, it should show all the photos with the respective child of key words (but no pictures with other keywords that can contain part of the keyword parent); or more simply put - filter just how that would happen when you press on the-> arrow next to a keyword in the keyword browser

    Thanks for all the inputs.

Unfortunately, there is no 'empty' option, but using a search the presence of vowels gets around this omission. You can configure a smart collection as shown in the attached screenshot and he must capture all of your images which have no title. There is another variant of this collection intelligent with a, e, i, o, u, y on a single line, but it was broken several times in previous versions, so I tend to not use it.

  • How is possible to create a smart collection to find all the photos that are not belongs to any collection?

    Hello

How is possible to create a Smart Collection to find all the photos are not belongs to any collection?

"Yesterday I was importing a lot of photo when my camera battery died then I succeeded him and continued to import without thinking that the previous import collection literally means" previous import. "

So I need to find a way to create a smart collection that will reveal all the photos that do not belong to any collection.

I solved the problem with a workaround is creating a collection based on the date of the photo which worked well, but must be nice to have a more general collection to find all the photo that are not from the collections.

    Thanks in advance,

    Marco.

    Another way to do

    1. Select all photos in the catalog

    2 dismiss a color label

    3. go to collections and multi select all your collections (ctrl)

    4. select images and give them a color

    5. return to the catalogue

    6. filter by color label - No

  • I'm totally confused about records, collections and smart collections.

I am a complete newbie to Lr so please forgive what are fundamental questions without doubt!

In records, I have 2 folders - Annecy and Aix which have different vacation photos.

In Collections, under smart Collections, I have a folder named Aix which has my pictures of Aix and that is synchronized to Lr on my ipad.  However, although Annecy is listed under Collections, it is in a folder at the top of a new tree under smart Collections but does not part of smart Collections.  I hope that makes sense!  This issue of Annecy does contain pictures, and the only thing being synchronized on ipad is the name of the folder.  How can I copy photos from the folder in the folders in the Collections folder?

I read that peaks must be in the Collections before they can be synchronized.  However, on the ipad there is that a folder named "Pictures Lightroom" it contains 242, the same as "all photographs synchronized" under the heading catalog when Lr appears on my desktop.  At present, I am initially upload my pictures in my office and then import to the RL.

Finally, about mobile Lr in response to a previous johnreliis investigation informed that I must ensure that I am connected to creative cloud on the ipad before being able to view synchronized + photos on the ipad.  I downloaded Lr mobile on the Apple store and have nothing to CC on the ipad.  Now, I wonder if the reason that the pictures of Annecy are not displayed on the ipad is due to the fact that, at the present time, they are not in a Collection.

Thanks in advance for all you can give me advice.

    Richard

Just drag Annecy out of smart Collections and next to Aix.

What is called "smart Collections" is actually a Collection Set - that is a container for other regular or silent collections (like your Aix) and smart collections which include images of criteria that you define. Notice how "Smart Collections of" has a different icon from the smart collections inside, looking more like a box. So what you could do then is to create a set of Collection called France and drag Annecy and Aix in it.

To get the pictures in the Annecy collection, you can find them in your folders and drag the thumbnails in the grid and place in Annecy.

  • Smart collection problem - LR 5.6

I have a smart collection of files where the metadata has changed. It helps me to ensure that the changes can be saved in files on the disc.

Recently, I noticed that this collection has begun to show a large number of files (800 +), where the data should be stored on the disk. If I select all of these files and then save to the disk, they all disappear one by one, and then when the collection is empty they all start reappear again, until they are all back again.

I tried to optimize my catalog, closing and reopening, etc. reboot. The criteria for the collection is where "status of metadata has been changed. The works in the collection OK for new imported files, it's just that began including a large number of false positives, which I can't get rid of.

    Lightroom 5.6 on Windows 7 x 64. Catalogue has 32 304 entries.

    Suggestions anyone?

    Ian

Lightroom can automatically write metadata in XMP. For RAW photos, these are the sidecar files. For DNG, metadata are embedded in the DNG file.

  • problem with filter smart collection

    Hello

I know that this question could be covered widely in various forums, but I can't find what I'm looking for.

The issue I'm having is that I used the quick Collection folder to temporarily store all the photos that I have edited for printing.  All of a sudden all the photos of this quick collection have broken links (! in the upper right corner).  I found these pictures in the real LR folder and they are fine.  How is that possible?

instead of fixing all the links in the quick collection, I would like to use a smart collection just find all my photos edited in the original folder that has the tact in links.  However, when you filter for "adjusted photos" the smart collection keeps giving me photos with broken links, probably from my quick collection, not those of the foler.  How do I know the smart collection to search only in one folder I want?

I hope that this logic... I can clarify if necessary.  Thank you!

Hi, you seem to be confused about the importance of brands of exclamation noticed on the images.

This means that the catalog as a whole has lost track of these images.

The most likely reason is that they have been moved to another location by using the operating system or one application other than Lightroom or they are on an external hard drive where the assigned drive letter changed (a Windows problem).

I do not understand your comment on find them in the "real" LR folder

Images are not stored in Lightroom, either.

The catalog contain references to the location of your pictures.

It is these references that are spread over the images showing the exclamation points.

If the Smart collection has been implemented correctly then it will want to include all the images that have been published for printing, but the Smart collection is SEO information found in the catalogue and so it will include images of which the catalogue has lost track of--exactly as you found it.

  • "Birthdays" Smart Collection (based on day/month but NOT the year)

    Hello.

I came across a problem when trying to make some organizes on my photos...

Is it possible to create a Smart Collection with "Date is" + "in the range" then use day/month only and excludes the year?

Or just a simple "Date is" + "date specific minimum year '.

What I'm trying to do, is to create a smart album that has pictures of all my children on/autour. of their birthdays. The eldest is 14 years old and I have four children, manual adding of all dates and keep them up to date in a year is - while it is certainly doable - a little pain there.

Is there a way to do this with Lightroom?

The only way to create a smart collection for this is to manually add each year the criteria smart collection.

A simpler way is to use the John R. Ellis AnyFilter plug-in.

  • Photoshop retouching in smart collections

    Hello

Usually I edit my photos in a folder (in lightroom, of course), I thought I would create a smart collection first this time to sort the pictures a little better.

I use Ctrl + E to edit a photo in Photoshop. I do my necessary edits, save and return to lightroom. But the picture in the smart collection is still the original. If I go into the folder where the pictures are, the Assembly is stacked with the original Photo. It has (because it seems to me) the same tags and markings of color as the original photo. I tried to change the order of the stack, but it's no help.

I tried splitting the battery, but the smart collection only reacts to the evolution of the original photo.

    What happens here?

If the new file IS NOT satisfied the criteria for the Smart Collection, it will not be displayed in the Smart Collection.  For example, if you have a Smart Collection that is "file type is RAW" and do a "Edit in Photoshop" a RAW Collection Smart the edited file is that NOT a RAW file so it will not be displayed in the Smart Collection.   What are your Smart Collection criteria.
