Smart collection? These latest imports?

Is there a way to create a smart collection to see all the photos imported in the last, say, 1 or 2 days? It seems that the date is available as a field in the metadata, but I don't see how to use it in a smart collection. I want to work with all the photos that have been imported from several SD cards at the same time.

I was afraid of that... but I've found a workaround. I created a new standard collection called recent imports and the value of import to automatically add dialog of the photos in this collection. I just need to remember to clear the collection at the right time.

  • Create smart collections by using the import Smart Collection settings

    Anyone know if I can create smart collections by using Import Smart collection settings? Where can I find any information on this other than collections of photos? In particular, I am interested in what to do with the code.

    I think I got it. If you put the text below into a file extension .lrsmcol and call 01_Jan. You can do a right click any where on the Collection Panel, choose Import Smart Collection settings and it will create a collection called 201401 - Jan will all images published here this month. It is a simplified version of a smart collection for a workflow. If you have 12 files, one for each month, you can select in the dialog box, and it will create 12 collections.

    s = {

    ID = ""

    internalName = "201401 - Jan."

    title = "201401 - Jan."

    Type = "LibrarySmartCollection"

    value = {}

    {

    criteria = "touchTime."

    operation = "en"

    value = "2014-01-01,.

    value2 = "2014-01-31."

    },

    combine = "cross"

    },

    version = 0,

    }

    A minor warning, Text Edit on my Mac replaced the quotes with double quotes. LR would fail to import missing files of the quotes or double quotes (I guess malformed) with like this without raising any errors. I had to disable the quotes in Text Edit.

  • Smart collection problem - LR 5.6

    I have a smart collection of files where the metadata has changed. It helps me to ensure that the changes can be saved in files on the disc.

    Recently, I noticed that this collection has begun to show a large number of files (800 +), where the data should be stored on the disk. If I select all of these files and then save to the disk, they all disappear one by one, and then when the collection is empty they all start reappear again, until they are all back again.

    I tried to optimize my catalog, closing and reopening, etc. reboot. The criteria for the collection is where "status of metadata has been changed. The works in the collection OK for new imported files, it's just that began including a large number of false positives, which I can't get rid of.

    Lightroom 5.6 on Windows 7 x 64. Catalogue has 32 304 entries.

    Suggestions anyone?

    Ian

    Lightroom can automatically write metadata in XMP. For RAW photos, these are the sidecar files. For DNG, metadata are embedded in the DNG file.

  • problem with filter smart collection

    Hello

    I know that this question could be covered widely in various forums, but I can't find what I'm looking for.

    The issue I'm having is that I used the quick Collection folder to temporarily store all the photos that I have edited for printing.  All of a sudden all the photos of this quick collection have broken links (! in the upper right corner).  I found these pictures in the real LR folder and they are fine.  How is that possible?

    instead of fixing all the links in the quick collection, I would like to use a smart collection just find all my photos edited in the original folder that has the tact in links.  However, when you filter for "adjusted photos" the smart collection keeps giving me photos with broken links, probably from my quick collection, not those of the foler.  How do I know the smart collection to search only in one folder I want?

    I hope that this logic... I can clarify if necessary.  Thank you!

    Hi, you seem to be confused about the importance of brands of exclamation noticed on the images.

    This means that the catalog as a whole has lost track of these images.

    The most likely reason is that they have been moved to another location by using the operating system or one application other than Lightroom or they are on an external hard drive where the assigned drive letter changed (a Windows problem).

    I do not understand your comment on find them in the "real" LR folder

    Images are not stored in Lightroom, either.

    The catalog contain references to the location of your pictures.

    It is these references that are spread over the images showing the exclamation points.

    If the Smart collection has been implemented correctly then it will want to include all the images that have been published for printing, but the Smart collection is SEO information found in the catalogue and so it will include images of which the catalogue has lost track of--exactly as you found it.

  • Registration of smart Collections

    Hi all

    I've recently updated for CS4 to CS6, when I uninstalled my cs4 package I realsed I had just lost all my smart collections in Bridge. However a colleuge of my friends has these same smart collections implemented in its CS6 Bridge, so I was wondering if theres any way to export or save the secruit collections, so I can import it to my bridge? Or all saved hidden preference that I can copy?

    It's going to take a couple of hours to implement all the collections any advice would be appreciated.

    See you soon.

    Collections are just a bunch of address to your photos.  So no, you cannot transfer their.  Smart collections are now somewhat better, but they are always also address locations for photos and not the photos themselves.

    You can enter the location of your CS4 and copy the collection and paste there CS6 and see if it works.  This location is C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS4.  Note that appdata is a hidden file.

  • I'm totally confused about records, collections and smart collections.

    I am a complete newbie to Lr so please forgive what are fundamental questions without doubt!

    In records, I have 2 folders - Annecy and Aix which have different vacation photos.

    In Collections, under smart Collections, I have a folder named Aix which has my pictures of Aix and that is synchronized to Lr on my ipad.  However, although Annecy is listed under Collections, it is in a folder at the top of a new tree under smart Collections but does not part of smart Collections.  I hope that makes sense!  This issue of Annecy does contain pictures, and the only thing being synchronized on ipad is the name of the folder.  How can I copy photos from the folder in the folders in the Collections folder?

    I read that peaks must be in the Collections before they can be synchronized.  However, on the ipad there is that a folder named "Pictures Lightroom" it contains 242, the same as "all photographs synchronized" under the heading catalog when Lr appears on my desktop.  At present, I am initially upload my pictures in my office and then import to the RL.

    Finally, about mobile Lr in response to a previous johnreliis investigation informed that I must ensure that I am connected to creative cloud on the ipad before being able to view synchronized + photos on the ipad.  I downloaded Lr mobile on the Apple store and have nothing to CC on the ipad.  Now, I wonder if the reason that the pictures of Annecy are not displayed on the ipad is due to the fact that, at the present time, they are not in a Collection.

    Thanks in advance for all you can give me advice.

    Richard

    Just drag Annecy out of smart Collections and next to Aix.

    What is called "smart Collections" is actually a Collection Set - that is a container for other regular or silent collections (like your Aix) and smart collections which include images of criteria that you define. Notice how "Smart Collections of" has a different icon from the smart collections inside, looking more like a box. So what you could do then is to create a set of Collection called France and drag Annecy and Aix in it.

    To get the pictures in the Annecy collection, you can find them in your folders and drag the thumbnails in the grid and place in Annecy.

  • Bug in the smart Collections when change Date is today?

    2016-06-07 17_38_23-Edit Smart Collection.png

    I got home today, made changes to the three images, and then I wanted to collect these three in a smart collection. Much to my surprise, I found myself with 91 images in my Smart Collection. And I know that I have not touched Lightroom since Sunday (two days ago) because I was not home yesterday. I'm 100% sure that Auto Sync was not lit when I edited the three photos (and if it has been activated there will be an entry in the history panel, which there is not). Can anyone provide a possible explanation? Or do I have to report it as a bug?

    In addition, there is a place in the metadata Panel, indicating the date of the edition? I could not find.

    I am convinced that the only thing I did when I got home was actually to change 3 pictures. I change the metadata fields that I know, normally when I'm editing mode, I'm not back metadata to the metadata edition edition. The AnyFilter plugin is not installed. I doubt that other plugins were nothing, the only one that would be possibly enabled is exporting Jeffrey Friedl Lightroom plugin, and I understand he uploads from Flickr comments, unless make you it run using it to upload photos.

  • Can I do a smart collection of specific marked faces?

    Can I do a smart collection of specific marked faces? For example, I want a collection for all the photos with tags of all three son's face. I use the CC of the trial but I have many friends who love Lightroom. This feature has been very important for me in Apple picture and I hope that Lightroom does the same thing, but I can't figure out how. Thanks in advance!

    Hi portagirlcs4,

    Yes, you can indeed. Tagged faces appear as keywords, so your labelng collection just specify a keyword search that contains 'all' of the keywords listed, which you would then enter.

    See this video for more information on using the face recognition feature to organize and view your Lightroom Catalog:

  • Smart collection for images of the error

    Is it possible to create a smart collection for images with the message "lightroom has met problems reading of this photo?

    Laughing out loud

    If you get this message, the images have been corrupted somehow, and you will not be able to make use of these images. You might as well remove them from Lightroom.

  • Smart collection for photos with the same capture time

    Hello

    I wish to have a smart collection for the photos I took to make HDR.

    These photos were taken of view/captured sequentially, therefore, most probably have almost the exact same time (perhaps even within the same second).

    -Is it possible to create a smart collection for these photos?

    (I know the collection could also include pictures I didn't mean to, but even when most of the potential HDR photo would be there...)

    Thank you!

    Boolis.

    A good way to make this selection for HDR/Pano is to select all the potential picture in library/grid and then use the command "Auto-pile by Capture time.  You can then place them in collections.

  • Problem (bug?) with smart collections

    Hello

    I have LR (standalone) 6.1 and I want to create a smart collection to select images that are not in the collections (stardard). As I find anything better, I created a smart collection where I need the name of the collection of the image does begin with 'A', 'B', etc...

    This works as long as the collection names are long of 1 Word. I'm intrigued by this behavior. Is this a bug? Is there another way to achieve what I want?

    Thank you.

    [It may take awhile for someone who knows the answer to read your messages.]

    The operator "starts by" is buggy.  The criterion of the "Collection starts with a' will match any collection whose name contains a word that begins with"a ". For example it will not match "A big red pony", 'It's a pony of reading', 'ponies are large animals.  Adobe has acknowledged this bug four years ago in the Adobe official feedback forum: Lightroom: problems with "begins with" text filtering.  You can add your vote and review on it in the vain hope that Adobe can fix before the next ice age.

    Meanwhile, to find all photos that are not in the collection, you can use these rules:

    Match any of the following rules

    Collection contains a, b, c,... z 1 0... 9

  • How to restrict a smart collection to another collection

    I have a collection - I evaluated their & flying their flag. I want to make a smart collection, so I only see photos with indicator and listed. I tried to use the collection as a source for a smart collection, but this does not select the photos. Instead, I have to use the folder as source - what I am doing wrong?

    See you soon

    Stephen

    Hi Stephen

    Go to your collection and use the filter library. If you do not see the filter library at the top of your thumbnails, press the backslash key.

    You can use the filter to search for photos with indicator and starry or combinations of these criteria.

  • Lightroom 5: AppleScript: action 'AXShowMenu' in the Smart Collection Panel does not display a context menu

    We are developing a tool for simple automation using Lightroom 5 (the most recent version of the penal code) using AppleScript.

    For certain actions, we need the context menu in the Panel smart Collections, for example, to import smart collections descriptions.

    According to the documentation and sources on stackoverflow and elsewhere, AXShowMenu should bring up this menu.

    So far I was not able to do the contextual pop-up menu.

    With the help of UIElementInspector and the browser of the user interface, I have found the element that has the attached AXShowMenu action. Based on the code provided by the browser of the user interface, I got the following script, that I run from the Applescript Editor:

    tell application "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5"

    activate

    tell application "System Events"

    tell process "Lightroom"

    set frontmost to true

    perform action 1 of static text "Smart Collections" of group 1 of row 11 of outline 1 of scroll area 1 of window 6

    delay 2

    end tell

    end tell

    end tell

    tell application "AppleScript Editor" to activate

    Note that if you try to recreate it, the number of the window as well as the number of the line may be different. In addition, the last line is just more convenience and not really relevant to the code.

    In the window results in the AppleScript Editor, I have the following:

    perform action 1 of static text "Smart Collections" of group 1 of row 11 of outline 1 of scroll area 1 of window 6 of process "Lightroom"

    --> action "AXShowMenu" of static text "Smart Collections" of group 1 of row 11 of outline 1 of scroll area 1 of window 6 of application process "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5"

    which means I have to invoke the action.

    But... nothing happens.

    Any insight, etc. workaround is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Just for the records, I asked the same question on Stackoverflow, and I got a response that does not work. This solution uses a small Python program to really simulate mouse clicks.

  • Can LR5 always create a Smart Collection or published a smart folder based on keywords?

    I have a smart Collection based on keywords imported LR4, but when you create a new Smart Collection or a published smart folder, the choice of "Key words" is missing from the context menu rules!

    Is this a bug?

    I am trying to create a smart folder that is published, but this question caught me.

    I think you can still do. If I correctly get what you're after: begin the process of creating the smart collection and when you see the settings dropdown to choose to create your collection, do scroll down to "Other metadata" click on it and you will see "Key words" it. I hope this helps

  • Cannot view smart collections on another computer

    I generated about smart collections a dozen photos on an external drive. This has been done on my laptop.

    When I try to view the smart collections with the disc mounted on my desktop, I get the error message "target collection folder is not found." Sometimes it will say purge the cache, which I did several times, to no avail. I know that the smart collection data on the hard drive of the laptop. Is it possible to put it on the same drive as the pictures?

    When I return to the laptop, all is well again. Is there a way to see the collections on both computers?

    Is there a way to see the collections on both computers?

    I'm not sure but I think it's possible. Bridge is very specific user and a collection and smart collection is nothing else than a bunch of aliases. The files are on the same drive as the other end is different.

    You can copy the collection file itself (on a Mac: user library / application support / Adobe / Bridge CSxx / collections to the other system in the same place, but I still don't know if it would work it is also a bit of a PITA to keep searching and copying of these files.)

    My workflow would be to create new folders on the external drive and select the collection in the content window. Use select all, then copy (or move, some workflow suites you) files in the new location. These new records can be selected in both machines. Is not ideal, but for now I don't see what that be better
