• My Blackberry 8100 blackBerry smartphones is a teapot!

  Went to sync my Blackberry 8100 last night when I got the popup saying that there was an update for my Blackberry to V4.5. My total involvement with the process had to press the button "next".

  I went to check on dinner, and when I got home there was a message saying "unable to reconnect to the phone". It seems to have erased my phone firmware and it now thinks it's a teapot!

  I am on Telstra and spoke to them this morning. They said that I have to send it to the 'factory' to fix.

  Anyone knows if I can reload the operating system through my PC or I have to go through the Telstra dealing with strings!

  Thanks BB, but I ended up just setting up my phone after I had to have the EXACT of the Telstra software version, which, incidentally, have absolutely no idea of what they are about everything!

  Also, there is a litlle witch hunt because you have to uncheck the selection to save the data on the phone, or you can not connect (doh!).

  In any case everything works and I am now on 4.5, find a few differences that I don't think I'd like.

  I use a China Mobile Sim Card. Maps Sim works fine in another unlocked phone, I used for a test.

  -All right, let me Preface this by saying I never believed in the all-in-one phone tht seems to do everything except phone, plus I need direct connect for work.  I was happy with my phones that only make calls and has connected live.  When put Nextel Blackberry for sale and I paid less for it that I did the last time I bought a phone to regular valve that I understood what the hell, I'll check.  I've had it for 3 weeks now and I love it.  BlackBerry has a customer for life.  Now to my problem.

  I have absolutely no idea how to get my voice dialing to work.  I have it configured in the options of-> voice dialing, but I don't know if there is somewhere else I have to enable it or if I need to download software or what.  My main reason is because I have a bluetooth jawbone headset 2 that I use while driving.  I hit the call button on the bluetooth, but nothing happens.  With my old flip phone I would hit the call button and it would invite, tell me a name by beeps at me, but not with my Blackberry.  Any suggestions?

  Nevermind, I figured it.  It had nothing to do with the Blackberry, I tried to start the numbering of the way I did with the original voice jaw, I forgot they have changed for the Jawbone 2.  It's so me being dumb and not knowing how to use my own devices.  And if anyone cares, the helmets of the jaw are amazing.  $60 on Ebay for a NIB 2 jaw.  I'm going down to the road going 80 mph and the assasin shot noise all the sounds of the wind and the appellant said I sounded just a little quiet, but they heard nothing but my voice and it was so clear.  Highly recommend.

  I have a Blackberry 8100 Italian who was sold as a handset (Italian mobile operator) of TIM.  I intend to visit the Ireland and wanted to use my BB while there, but when I put a Vodafone sim in it it tells me "invalid sim card".  So I called TIM and asked them to unlock the phone for me.  They told me today (a week after the sending of copies of documents and other things) that the phone is unlocked and on their system is displayed as unlocked.  I also tried a pay site / to / unlock that unlock BlackBerry but they told me that my code was unknown, and that they couldn't open it for me.

  I tried to call Blackberry, but you have to pay to fix the problem for you.  What can I do?

  The original carrrier brand should have that.

  If you want, try Horizon wireless, also for a paid release.

  They are reasonable and trustworthy, and I think that if they can't unlock, they won't charge not, but asking the question to them.

On the contrary, authorized dealers are 100% responsible for all support of the guarantee.   Slow down the guy!  OS 4.5 is still out, and as far as I know 4.6 will be available for the Bold and released after only new devices.  There is not a word about the future (post 4.5) operating system for older devices.

  Thanks for answering, I had my Pearl old brothers for a few days before I bought mine. There 4.2.  The same card worked fine on it. Maybe I'll try to get the handset to 4.5 to see if that helps

  You could try to clean the trackball, use a bit of isopropyl on the end of a cuetip and alcohol which could wipe out any dirt, lint or dust under the tracball...

  (2) I have synced my BB to Outlook 2007 on my pc to print a paper copy of my contacts list.  Synchronization worked fine but only gave me contacts with their name and e-mail address.  Contacts on my BB without addresses email has not appeared on the list and details, addresses, dates of birth, and especially the phone numbers for contacts appear.  Is it possible to get ALL the details contact on a paper copy?  Thank you.

  The folks at Telus is unable to help because they apparently don't know produced pretty well BB.  I won't pay BB technical to tell me how to use their product, but I could take the service providers advise buying an iPhone.  Someone can offer some advise to solve these two seemingly simple questions

  Please check your Smart Dialing settings... maybe they are active, which could make the '1' in your point of unnecessary Contact.

  Interesting... it must synchronize all... hmmm... Well, if your only interest is a paper copy, then an export might be too simple. The Desktop software can export to a CSV file, which you could then return to Excel and do what you please. Unfortunately, the export feature has been removed in more recent versions of Desktop software (don't ask... it's a HUGE bru-ha-ha!), and you must use an older version (6.x or lower, I recall) to do:

  I bought my Bold 9780 in Thailand in June 2012. I've now returned to the United Kingdom. When I call a dial a new number on my keyboard without problem. If I try to redial the number from my previous calls list (hit the green call button that my BB automatically adds + 66 (thai country code) in the last dialed number.) So now when I try to dial the last dialed number the call cannot connect...

  Anyone has a solution or advice for the problem of settings I have?
