Smartphone Blackberry 8700 blackBerry e-mail account

I just got a Blackberry 8700 and have a Vodaphone SIM PAYG. When I try to add my email account, I just a choice between:

I want to use a professional email with Blackberry Enterprise Server account

I want to skip the email configuration

I tried Googling and follow the advice to download the BIS software. I found on the BlackberryFAQ website software downloads and downloaded what I thought was the right package for my platform. but when I tried the installer from the PC it says there was no software included.

What should I do? Do I need a BIS account, provider of services?

Any help appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the community!

To use the exclusive services of BB (including the ability to Push email, BBM, etc), you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have a compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), your exclusive services BB will work (for example, you will have a staff/Internet Email added to the email Setup Wizard, your BBM will work, etc.).

With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans it is impossible to say that any plan service could actually expressly provide for. Only carriers can answer this question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you want and then talk to your carrier about obtaining a data plan that allows what you want (to them).

Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) books of forwarding Service

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry e-mail account Smartphones one has stopped working

I tried to delete it and re-add (several times). Had the Sprint Store try different options, including a reeboot in their system. At GoDaddy check their system... Pulled the battery while the phone was on and outside... Nothing works!

Help, it's the story I receive time sensitive works on.

It is a Bold 9650 and all my other email accounts (of Go Daddy) work correctly.

then they suggested I phone Blackberry for them to resynchronize... but I found the online Forum and no tech support number to call, where my posted question.

This is where Sprint really let you down... you see, they gave you. They know very well that end users have no way to directly solicit any formal support from RIM. All the formal support of the RIM must be wound with carriers... and that's what Sprint would have been done for you. Instead, they gave you. Sad... but sadder still, it happens far too often.

End-users who understand the process are equipped with this knowledge and can prevent such a fob off. So, if you want to continue with them (and, frankly, I think that you need more deep support from RIM and others who, unlike us volunteers here on this form, have access to 'behind the scenes' information and other), you will need to go to them again, this time insisting that they honor the support contract you have.

Think about it... you PAY Sprint for 100% of your service and 100% of your support... training and although now they deliver neither you... even if the case requires an improved rim support, Sprint remains linked contractually to provide assistance in this regard.

Now since I have uninstalled and reinstalled again the email address, I don't get emails from this account on my phone, but all my other email accounts are working fine.

Don't know what else I can tell you, I'm really frustrated with it, because it's a story that I get job offers that are time sensitive, so it's reduce my income.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Given the critical nature of your need, I do not recommend return you to the Sprint, and this time do not leave you fob OFF... insist that, if indeed they say you need to speak to RIM, that they (Sprint) provide the means to do so (which is to prosecute, provide you necessary information file number and such and then degenerate into RIM).

In the meantime, I recommend the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you certainly should more "behind the scenes" that can be offered through this community and volunteer-contribution users... re-contact Sprint and insist that they solve it, climbing to RIM, if they can't.

Oh... one more thing... you did not change anything on your PC to access this email account, did you? For example, if you have an email client (Outlook, for example,) also access this email account - AND it is downloading mails from the server more frequently than every 15 minutes - AND it's delete them server when it downloads, then there would be nothing for BIS to find (and place on your BB) when he checks on his interval normal 15 minutes. Honestly, I doubt it's causal, given the symptoms you described... but you never know.

    Good luck!

  • Problems of blackBerry Smartphones while creating an e-mail account

    Hej,

in late July, I bought a BB Curve 9320. Until today, I wasn't able to create an e-mail account. A smartphone without access to e-mail. The problem is missing to create an internet e-mail account. I'm only able to set information for a business account, which I did not. In recent weeks I spent hours and hours reading manuals/blogs and watching youtube videos. I also asked my phone provider if they put in limits for internet e-mail accounts. Nothing of the sort.

I guess that the problem may be caused by our bb playbook. It works well enough. The playbook is running to a live windows account for email, contacts, and dates. When I started the 9320, I first used the same bb id that we use on the playbook.

Please help me, I'm totally frustrated. What can I do?

    Sincere best wishes from Hamburg

Interesting. Call your carrier and confirm that you have the blackberry data plan associated with your account.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I deleted an e-mail account but the folder still appears on my home screen

I deleted an e-mail account, but the folder still appears on my home screen.  It doesn't let me delete it.  The e-mail account is no longer shows on the screen for managing Email accounts, so it should be deleted from my phone.  I tried to remove the battery, but it did not help.

Looks like the maintenance book remained. See http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/32608/Accept_or_delete_a_service_book_61... Remove the service books that corresponds to the e-mail account deleted.

  • The blackBerry e-mail account configuration Smartphones Internet inactive

    Hello

When I go to home > Setup > email accounts

the Internet e-mail account button seems to be disabled, and that's why I can never create an account through my phone. I have my personal emails etc. added by the carrier to my phone, but I'm curious as to what I can do to start working from the phone, as it is a fault of my phone.

Step 1, make sure you have BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) on your account. No BIS, no configuration of email on your phone.

If you have BIS activated on your account, go to your phone's browser and type www.blackberry.com/integrate and see if you can set things upwards from there.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones need to delete e-mail accounts

I will no longer use the 8900 and need to reset the entire phone or at least erase my e-mail accounts.

Can an organization tell me how?

    Thank you

You must connect on the Web of BRI site linked to the carrier you put up with.

If you do not know your username and password, call the carrier who can give u the username and reset the password. Or they can remove all the emails and account if you wish...

To find your BlackBerry Internet Service Provider web site, go to the Support section on the BlackBerry website (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/software/internet.jsp) and click on the link of your service provider in the section access to the BlackBerry Internet Service Web site .

  • BlackBerry Smartphones receive Blackberry e-mail account in Outlook

No problems receiving all my emails on my BlackBerry.

Question is, can I receive the e-mail set up on BlackBerry IE: [email protected] in Outlook?

    Thank you

    VIC

No, at least not easily or directly to Outlook.

I remember once someone explain a viable solution for this one, where the user would BCC all these messages to another e-mail account and who POP in Outlook.

So if this is the case, simply use the alternative address...  I don't even recommend using the addresses of @yourcarrier.blackberry.net because they are not visible on the web and you can easily filter spam. And if you always change cell phone carriers, you lose.

Much simpler to just scrap it and get a gmail account.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones add a personal e-mail account to my BBB provided by company

    Hello

I've just been updated by my company for a BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD".  My company has set up the device to be synchronized with our Microsoft Exchange Server.  This part works perfectly.  I want to do is to add a connection to my personal gmail account.  I could go on the road to browser to access my webmail, but that wouldn't really be integrated.

I started in the process of "configure a personal e-mail account", but the installation process seems to require that I have 'sign up' for BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS).  Screens to ask for me to "Create a new account" or connect to an existing account.  I tried to use my existing gmail account information, but as I suspected, that did not work.  The requested connection is a connection to BIS.

What I was asking is, would be the fact that my company already set up the phone for the service MS Exchange means that an account already exists and so I should get the info of connection on their part?  MS Exchange or a completely different beast and I need to register for a new BIS account if I want to integrate my web gmail account?

In addition, the BIS service is generally a supplement or usually included as part of the basic service?

    Man of deep space

You can take a look at the gmail for Blackberry app.

    http://www.Google.com/mobile/BlackBerry/mail.html

A problem with BES + BIS is that all the mail ends up in the same "inbox" on your device.  The gmail app keeps separate.

Please mark resolved and/or add Bravo if it helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how rename an e-mail account

So, I just had to remove and reinstall my Gmail account (sitting alongside my business).  Previously, I had renamed the account shown in '[email protected]' at Gmail just.  But now I can not for the life of me see where to do it.  That perhaps could in the old version of the Desktop software?    Is it possible to do it on the device?

Go to Setup > e-mail accounts > Internet e-mail accounts > enter the user name and password (if necessary). Now, highlight the email ID you want to change, and then select change in the menu. The text under the name of e-mail as desired by you. Click Menu, and then select Save.

  • Configuration of email from lack of Smartphones blackBerry for personal account

I'm having a very disappointing time with my new Blackberry 9700 I could really use help with it please.

Following the installation wizard, I arrived to the e-mail configuration. The ONLY option is to enter an address associated with an Enterprise Server. There is no option to choose my Gmail account.

After this step, I was hoping to find an alternative to get where I needed to be, but does not (at least none that I could find). Then I tried to upgrade my device software, which I did. So I am now under v5.0.0.405. Still no icon for the configuration of email in the settings window.

I even tried to install Google Sync, but there is no hanging at "first login".

I was really hoping it would be a lot easier than what I've heard great things about BB. I come from a Windows Mobile, so eager to get this resolved.

Any help is appreciated more. Thank you.

Try this page of Configuration of the Smartphone BlackBerry and select your provider of Blackberry BTW you did subscribe to the right cell provider's Blackberry plan?

  • Help of Smartphones blackBerry, e-mail coming in bizarre

My mails are truncated and all weird.

    This just started happening.

also I can not register on my phone to a Blackberry ID.

    Welcome to the forums, swsiren!

For your first question, please try a hard reset... with the unit powered on, remove the battery for a few minutes, then replace.  Failure to correct the problem, try to remove and then add e-mail accounts.

Regarding the BlackBerry ID, please uninstall AppWorld from your device (Options > device > application management, select AppWorld, then delete).  Your device will require a reboot to completely uninstall AppWorld.  Once the device has rebooted, go to the www.blackberry.com/appworld and reinstall AppWorld, then try again to create your username.
