Smartphones blackBerry contact list on pc backup

Hi, I am very new to this site, I just got my BB this week and I am very new to the technology. I do OK, but a few small problems. When I back up my camera to the PC, it says done, but when I look in the PC later, the backup is in gibberish, and no matter what I try, it will not appear in clear text, I checked the phone, and it does not send the encrypted data. The other question is when I transferred my list of contacts from the PC to my phone, all charged very well accepted in the addresses, he showed that the first two lines, and no more, I could add the extra hand in my phone, but wondered why it is happening. My PC runs windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the community!

The backup file (IPD or BBB, depending on the version of your office software) is a proprietary format, not not intended what whatsoever other than to be used as a source of a subsequent restoration. In native mode, it is not supposed to be read by anything other than the RIM desktop software. There are 3rd party there applications that people have written to analyze and display, but you should get one of these to do this. I heard good things about MagicBerry.

As for your second question, how exactly you load your data to your BB? Synchronize with Outlook via the desktop software? To import a CSV file? Another method?

Thank you and let us know!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Since you did a wipe, we can exclude configuration on your BB as causal. As a result, will be with the way in which you are synchronizing. I suggest you go to this link and search on 'double calendar' (or refine as you guessed right) to find KB of which are relevant.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Messenger contacts list resets

I have problems after I updated to OS 4.5.  I have the AT & T 8310 and downloaded the update directly from Blackberry, not the AT & T site.  Whenever I go out the battery and I go to messenger he always tells me that I spent with a new device, I would like to update everyone on my new pin code (which isn't new).  If I didn't, then all my contacts will be deleted. The first time I did it I was stuck on a contact in the waiting, and again, it got rid of all contact that I didn't have before a conversation with.  So I took out the battery and went through the entire process again except says no to update the contacts.  Well I have no contacts now and don't really want to keep for me to add again every time I have to reset the phone or remove the media card upsets.  Someone else has experienced this or knows what to do?  Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hello

There were these issues over the past two months, but I do not remember how committed people.
If I were you, when that happens, I write the BBm contacts somewhere and then remove them one at a time.
Use the Office Manager and in the advanced options, wipe the database of BlackBerry Messenger.

then the fire to the top of the unit and add them one at a time ("one more time", Daft Punk). It should do the trick and solve your problem

  • Smartphones blackBerry Contacts, Emails, and text has DISAPPEARED!

I have a BB Bold 9900 and went to use a flashlight app already installed on the phone.  The phone closed and restarted.   When it started back I lost everything?  Don't know why or how.  What I'm concerneced everything becomes everything back.   I was able to recover images lost with a data recovery program.  That being said I'm sure I can do the same for the other missing information, contacts and emails etc...   What I can not find and have looked everywhere on the support forums is what is the name of the contacts folder and where he might be going through windows Explorer.   No, I was not smart enough to make a backup of the phone before it went then restore on a precedent to back up is completely out of the question.   Thanks in advance for any direction or help with my problem.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is no 'file' to recover contacts, or calendar, messages, or any other protected databases:

    • KB03974 List of database for the blackBerry smartphone

All those who were in the protect the area of AppMemory, which is not accessible by other than the BB OS itself (more the various facilities of backup available). Therefore, for contacts, unless you have a source non - BB data to restore, you have lost the.

For future reference, here is a discussion about backups:

Good luck... but I'm sorry for your loss.

How would you put in place of a list of contacts to group people to email instead of having to click on each name...?   like if you wanted to send something on others... do not know if this could be done...

    Of course, it's easy.

Create a group in your address book, which is composed of members from your address book.
