Smartphones blackBerry V.5 for the 8330

I have Sprint as my service provider, anyone know when they will support the V.5 for 8330?

Any idea would be appreciated.  Thank you

Nobody knows - but the Sprint!

Other carriers have released OS 4.5 for your device, you are free to use. All wheels operating systems ARE built and produced by RIM and published by carriers. Otherwise, they are the same.

I received a forwarded BBM message to a couple of my friends today saying this:

Hello, greetings from RIM (Research In Motion) BlackBerry owners. This message is to inform all of our users, our servers have been recently really full, so we ask for your help to solve this problem. Is there any truth to this? I checked the link to Blackberry and got a message saying that the page was not found.

My favorite is the technical term that they use "very comprehensive."

    It is indeed a hoax.

A hoax message circulating on BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) asks users to message BBM to their contacts in order to maintain the BBM service and claims to have been sent originally by Research In Motion (RIM).

Be assured that this BBM message did not come from the RIM and that it does not affect the security of BlackBerry smartphones. It is simply a string of hoax message. Unfortunately, many social networking applications in the face of this scenario, according to which no message, including a hoax message, can be transmitted to a user of one of their contacts. We recommend that users simply ignore the message and do not convey.

English version of the broadcast message illegitimate:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry ID / connection for the apps world problems

I am unable to connect to the BB apps world or my BB ID. When asked for my email address and security question, I am known, and I do not know the answer to my security question! No idea how I can reset my login details?

Hello and welcome to the Forums at you two!

Try the steps in this KB, even if the description of the problem is not the same as yours:

    • KB25521"" is not available for download on BlackBerry App World "appears when you try to download an application from BlackBerry App World "

Are you trying to do, with your BB attached to your PC, open a session in AppWorld from your PC and get the link with your BB AppWorld.

So the bad news is... If you cannot work here, there is only one thing that remains to be done. You must find the initial Welcome e-mail, you received when registering for AppWorld... insofar as there will be a link that allows you to remove your AppWorld account. Then, re-create the BB ID/AppWorld account, using the same credentials. This process is supposed to add a link to your account at the end of the RIM, providing you access to AppWorld AND also all of your previous purchases showing in MyWorld.

    Good luck!

  • Does anyone know BlackBerry Smartphones when Verizon will offer 5.0 for the 8330?

I would really like to get out of 4.5.  I 4.7 on my company BB (8900 from T-Mobile) and love it much better, but reading of about 5.0, according to me, I have love even better yet.  Unfortunately, 4.5 is the only OS listed on the page from Verizon for the 8330.  No one knows when they will release 5.0?  From what I read they will, but I would like to know if I should wait a week 6 wait or wait 2 years...

Thanks, and sorry if this has been covered before, I was unable to find it if so.

    Mason

Freshness. BTW - there will be published little (if any) on when RIM's 'official' for what you're looking for. Instead, what you will see is that some carriers release the version you are looking for... VZW will do what they do in their own sweet time.

BTW - you can find the forum 83xx on this site here:

At the top of the stickies is a thread that Xandrex keeps up to date with current versions of each carrier operating system device (that he has information on, of course). I have not waded in this thread (it's pretty long), but it might have a table for your model, that will guide you to locate different materials with the levels of release.

If you find that a carrier has sanctioned a device OS you want, you can usually get them through their DL site via this Portal:

You can then use these instructions for use (doesn't bother me that the instructions are for the storm - the process is the same I think):

    See you soon!

  • Smartphone blackBerry OS 5.0 for the 8330?

Looking for info on whether or not there is an updated version 5.0 for the 8330? Especially for Telus Mobility. If this is not the case, there will be? And when? Thank you.

    Welcome to the forums

There is a leak of OS 5.0 for the 8330 circulating on the web for a few weeks, but it is a non-supported version and installation may cause unexpected behavior in your phone. However, it does not indicate that RIM is considering when we release the OS 5.0 for the phone later. You're not likely to find the release date anywhere on these forums; the forums are for support to users, and we are not common this info. I highly doubt any employee RIM was going to give this info either! I can't wait for it to come out right

    See you soon,.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is a way for the storm to "separate email accounts? '

    Forum,

Is there a way for the Blackberry Storm to 'split' emails to 2 different accounts?  I have a corporate email account (MS Exchange) and a Yahoo! account.  Emails of these accounts appear in the Messages.  Is it possible to separate them so that I can view the emails in a view/account, Yahoo! mail in a different view/account?

I guess it would be a type of client software for Blackberry email... dunno.

    Thanks in advance!

    Joe

The alternatives will have to use an app of the add-on for the storm to create an icon that displays only the BES-based emails. See http://www.getempower.com/Empower_BES_MailBox.php for more information (I tried the free trial version and it worked great). The BES configuration method is discussed at http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB15003&sliceId=SAL_Pub..., but we have yet to try this one. Another alternative is to use modules for non - BES mail... GMAIL offers an add-on which manages all GMAIL, bypassing BIS entirely... I don't know if other e-mail providers have something similar.

I'm currently testing a configuration where I use BIS to get my company email, BES to OTA sync my company calendar and contacts, GMAIL of add-on application to handle this, and BIS to manage what other email accounts. I no longer watch the main 'Messages' box at all.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9700 for ORANGE bought in the UK, but never used does not work with TELSU SIM in the Canada

I had a Blackberry Bold 9700 as a gift.  I think it was made for the Orange network in the United Kingdom ('Orange' written at the bottom of the BlackBerry in the front).  I tried to use it with my TELUS account in Canada with TELUS SIM.  The Blackberry does not register any wireless network signal.  The meter of signal display "SOS" only and no TELUS network is avaiable.  My position is Mississauga (Ontario) and Telus wireless covers this area for sure.  I checked that the device is not locked by going to Options-Advanced-online SIM card and typing MEPD Options Online.  The options that appear to say 'off '.  The device seems to read the SIM card because the SIM card # appears.

Y at - it someone who has the same problem and its resolution.  A large part in this regard, the obligation for any input.

    Hello

I just discovered the reason for BB does not not with TELUS that I wanted to inquire about registration CDMA you mentioned...

A smart guy, he asked me to check the frequency bands that supports my BB.  Its sub Options => on.  "3 G bands" that supports my BB are 1, 4, and 8.  These correspond to the IMT 2100 MHz, AWS 1700 MHz and GSM 900 MHz respectively.  The frequencies that TELUS uses in the Canada are groups 1, 2, 5 and 6.

So, finally tech TELUS came with the answer that my BB is designed to work with some UK frequencies and not with TELUS frequencies in the Canada.

I've misunderstood and used the term incorrectly HARD LOCK.  The BB I have shows all the options as "disabled" when I go into options in advance-online SIM card and press the MEPD.  Also if I press MEP2 unit not asks me to input MEP codes.  Nothing happens.  This led me to believe that this device is not locked to ORANGE network so the lack of a better term, I used little HARD LOCKED.

Much obliged for your entry.  It has been enlightening.  Thank you very much.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Grateful Dead ringtones for the storm

can someone help me find a site for the Grateful Dead ringtones for the storm?

Hi and welcome to the forums,

Any mp3 will do, you can create your own. They are not generic to the storm. Use can use several sites to make them, or you can do it yourself with the audacity software. (Google it). Rintones will play only for about 10-15 seconds.

Perform a full backup of your BB first, using Desktop Manager.

  • BlackBerry smartphone App I paid for the list disappeared after the update failed

The app was Braincube Premium. When I tried to update this application, an error has occurred and my Bay froze. After the reboot, the app just disappeared my my Berry and was not among my App World apps.

I sent support but only got an automatic response email suggesting I visit http://... / appworld/support. But I don't see where I can start getting help to recover my paid app.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

I suggest that you clear the cache of the AppWorld application:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

    3. for Storm/Pearl - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    4. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    5. return to the AppWorld. Connect to MyWorld (if there is one) and try again.

I hope it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry contacting Support for help

I bought an App in Blackberry AppWorld call Quicklaunch. I was able to install the application on my device, but it says that I need an activation code. I went back and read all correspondence related to this, and it seems that I never received. I have also connected through my camera to BBApp World 'My World' to retrieve the registration without success.

So now I am trying to reach Blackberry Support by filling the forms online and when I get to the page where I clicked 'submit' I get the message:

    Please correct the following items:

    • Please provide a valid Smartphone Blackberry PIN

I have double/triple checked this several times and I put in the correct number. I have same box the package originald BlackBerry which is the correct PIN code. How to solve this? My BlackBerry PIN will not work when trying to get help for a paid program activation code I've ever received. I know this been answered several times already, but the common response is "I'll PM you the information.» How can I get help with this?

Good luck, I don't know it's no fun to call them, but it's really the best option for your situation because none of the technicians App World follow this forum and your of is an issue that has to look at their end.

    My BIS begin to work.

Perhaps, you intend to say "stopped" working?

If you have a BlackBerry data plan on your service provider account, on your BlackBerry smartphone, go to:

    1. options > advanced > host Routing Table > Menu > register.

2 send your service from your carrier's BIS site books:
    Of your handheld: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and sign. Then under help!, select Service books and select send service books.

    Your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
Carriers worldwide - find your operator from the list

    3. with the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart. This restart, even if you have already done this, is often necessary to install the service books.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac

I am trying to download Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac.  When I click on download it asks whether to save the file.  When I click on Yes, the download box appears and indicates the place of download.  At the end of the download, nothing happens.  The download box sits right on my screen and no other guests occur.  There is no sign of any Blackberry file in the Applications folder on my MacBook pro.  Site Web de Blackberry for downloads screen does not change.

My feeling is that I somehow need to 'install' the uploaded file, but am at a loss to know how to do this.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Assuming you are using Safari, the default location for downloaded files is the folder downloads. You should find the installer downloaded it. If this is not the case, check where you download the file and look in this folder. The file you're looking for should be named "BlackBerry Desktop Software.dmg". Double-click it to mount the disk and then image to launch the installer.

You must run the Setup program to install the Desktop on Mac software, it is not just an app that you slip into your Applications folder.
