  Yes and no. You can replicate the main feature of the planning (re-recording of the numbers in a central database) with Essbase and the typical add-in. You can also duplicate the functionality of the forms created dynamically and the "point of view" or the selection of members with VBA coding. Other features of planning, such as to-do lists, supporting details and workflow are not as easily replicated in VBA.

• Output PDF and Excel cell spacing problems

  Hi all..
  I have a report and a model whose production should be both in PDF and Excel.
  
  Lets say I have two tables put one under the other. (Table 1 and table 2 below it..)
  
  Table 1 has 5 columns and table 2 to 30 columns.
  In PDF format because it is difficult and ugly to display 30 columns, I made 6 (very small font) fonts
  
  Output PDF seems fine. But, when I open the reort in excel... all dirty sound upward and ugly.
  Width of column 1 of the table is very uneven. lI noted that table 1, table 2 coulmns width are the same...
  For my requirement, they must have widths separated... Also... When I open the report in Excel, I always get in 6 font size which is ugly

  Hi all! I am a student of mechanical Engineeringfthat very little uses this software. I present you the problem: for a question called biomechanics, my colleagues and I, we have developed a rheometer design, which is controlled by LabVIEW2011. Since we are still at the experimental stage, always has been simulated using labview: the whole experience.   Reading documentation, it seems that Smartview v11 has no batch and capacity planning. Am I wrong?
  So if I want to schedule my reports Essbase and run reports in cascade to be grouped and sent by e-mail to different users (each receiver reports customized for their Business Units), how do I go about it?

  You can also optionally run a VBA excel macro function to create a process of 'Batch' which would be updated on a worksheet or create a new workbook and send the file to an end user. Research in the smartview VBA commands there are a few very useful commands that could automate this process for you. I don't know about the process that you would use to automate a process to send reports of EN, but emailing from in excel is not usually hard to do through VBA and could help automate this process.

What can I do to make these in InDesign? And they will always be there if I create a PDF to fill out on-line that users can fill it with Adobe Reader?

  InDesign cannot read and/or analyse Excel formulas. Excel puts the formula in a cell and adds last result, and which is read by InDesign to plain text. It is rather the opposite: to get a 'formula' in ID, you will need to fit in plain text in Excel (once again, see you in ID in plain text).

  Nothing to fear: Excel is very bad in the formatting of the text; ID, on the other hand, excels in the present.

  Table styles have absolutely nothing to do with it. They are for tables formatting , not for the calculations. Moreover, these Table Styles are integrated into IDS since the CS2 version - last is CS4.

• SmartView Admin Extension vs planning Dimension Editor

  Forgive me if this has been answered before, but I found nothing, I worked on the modification of an existing application, adding new accounts / entities, changing member formulas. I do changes in Smart View using the extension of the admin, the work of great, after that I update, any changes looks good in essbase, formulas work as expected, its almost too good to be true, but when I look in the space of work/planning is another story. all new members have a data storage of 'do not share' and none of the member formulas are here.

  I can update the database to the workspace and it still works fine, but members always snow never part. I tried everything short members exporting and reloading via contour load utility, but they just do not match, with what I have last priority of decision-making has changed.

  Everyone experienced / solved this?

  I am using SmartView 11.1.2.5.410 and planning 11.1.2.3.500

  I have test the upgrade of SmartView, no change.

  It seems that this might be a bug that crept into the 11.1.2.3.500. {Space} column is more in the planning grid when you manage metadata via Smart View. This column is what drives what you see in web planning. In OPBCS, they seem to be addressing it with a {default data storage} column and so I believe 11.1.2.4 it is addressed to the. You may need to simply load via the utility of planning unless Oracle has addressed in the 700 Patch, you would need to upgrade to.

  In regards to your formulas if you go to your member form and switch to the appropriate type, you should see y formula are implemented based on the type of plan. The formula {formula by default} column also lack 11.1.2.3.500 so why you don't see them in the default screen.

  I have a request from a client to generate a worksheet excel from a query. I have the query expel the fields and I can generate the Excel without a hitch. The problem comes when the customer takes excel file and then tries to handle it. The majority of the distress comes from fields that must be marked as currency or dates. I am, with a few combat capable of generating a 'real' date field Before this Excel was not correctly sort dates.

  I was able to call an excel formula using this:

  The data in the cells has already been formatted properly. When this file is generated and sent to the user columns are not formatted as expected.

  Does anyone know if this method will work or have a better suggestion on CF getting to generate a suitable date and currency field to Excel for acknowledge?

  For some reason, you need to format it twice - once before the data is inserted and one after.

  This is especially true if you have data values that are integers.  These, even if you format cell advance to be 'Text', always align to the right, as do the integers.  However, if you reapply the formatting after inserting the data, then it must be formatted correctly.

  Can I create and display the dimensions of the attribute in a form of planning? I want an Essbase attribute associated with a large sparse. Can I use this attribute in a form instead of this great alternative dimension? I can do in a query of Essbase SmartView and hope I can do the same thing in a form of planning. Thank you

• illegible codes in the form of planning and the issue of re-encoding

  Hi experts,

  I implement planning 11.1.2.3 with EPMA, Unicode mode. Here, we had a few problems.

  1.illegible codes in the comments of the form.

  When I right click in any cell shape and some comments, I can put comments. If we put the English that will be fine, but if we put the Chinese, the first element of comments (not first character) will appear in unreadable codes. We have tried many times and found the following regularity.

  • The first comments that we put in Chinese aura of unreadable codes, the other (the third second\ and so on) Chinese comments are right
  • If leave us the comments entry status, then right-click and select comments once again, the first comments that we put this time will again be unreadable codes. (Perhaps in the same cell we had already put a few comments before)

  2. re-encoding problem

  In planning EPMA mode, if we set one member of scenario (perhaps other sparse dimension as well) dynamics and two passes that would cause an error: cannot retrieve the data to no response. She is the example:

  We also found the following regularity.

  • Mode classic, what we have will NOT cause no response when retrieving data
  • EPMA mode, when we have defined two passes in S1 (or other script) and deploy, update, the problem occurs
  • EPMA mode, if we DON'T re-Dimension libriary value encoding, but change the property of Member S1 in two passes in EAS preview and save, will NOT cause any response when retrieving data.

  I don't know if anyone had seen these questions before and tell me how to solve. Thank you!

  If its working for a smaller combination and gel for more then its value increase the dynamic calc calculator cache.

  Smart View 11.1.2 requires 11.1.2 Foundation and APS 11.1.2. With this configuration, planning/Essbase 11.1.1.3 will then operate as a data source for Smart View 11.1.2.

  I'm having a problem with users (planners planning) planning and Essbase added to Manager Data Source for a Shared Services provider connection.
  
  Here they are all on 11.1.1.3 and Excel 2003.
  
  I found that I have to configure planners as:
  (1) Essbase for administrators to add Essbase
  (2) shared Services Application creators to add planning
  
  If I don't do the foregoing, when planners are trying to add Essbase or planning (and Yes, I confirm that an Essbase admin means nothing for the addition of a planning server and vice versa for SSP app creator to Essbase), they get a "this operation is not permitted under your APS user account privileges.
  
  I'm desperately hoping that I have made a huge mistake and have neglected an incredibly obvious framework as the provisioning of planners for both roles above is simply not on, especially wrt Essbase.
  
  FWIW, if I add these connections as an administrator, disconnect and then connect to already added connections, everything is fine. However, it is a significant administrative burden and opens all kinds of security, calendar, questions etc.
  
  If anyone has experienced this? And more importantly, figured out how to fix this?
  
  I found a document Metalink re this error but it was around the creation of Smart slices. It is 20 miles down the road where I am right now.

  When you add the new server in the source of data for Essbase or planning manager it adds this APS Server and is available for all users. It should only need to be done once, and that is why it is an administrative task.

  I may be misunderstanding then please clarify if what I say is meaningless...
