  I have a smart phone Blackberry 8830 World Editiion. I need to reinstall the software and want to get the latest version. When I get to "Select a device" I see the 8820 but not 8830. I selected the 8820 software and installed. Now, when I use the camera I can highlight all applications but not select any. The phone still works but I can't ' access to something else.

  Is it a coincidence or I mess up using the 8820 software?  If so, how can I get the software 8830?

  BB is manufactured by RIM. Windows Mobile devices are running a Microsoft OS. BB do not work MS OS.

• Error 1904 - cannot install the Software Desktop for blackBerry Smartphones

  I also had similar problems I've read on previous posts. I have four boxes of different error that arises when you try to install the software. I tried everything that was recommended at the previous posters, nothing helps.  Becoming very frustrated. I have a blackberry 8330 and windows xp. All reference failure to check of the diff dll errors. Any other suggestions?

  You may think using DTM WITHOUT Media Manager. Use the procedures to uninstall/install sdgardne, but download DTM without Media Manager.  Once done,

  Go to options-support card on your BB
  The settings should be:

  Media card support: on
  Encryption mode: no
  Mass storage Mode support: on
  Auto enable mass storage Mode when connected: Yes

  Once activated, when you connect your BB via the usb port, a windows Explorer will open and show your device as another drive on your pc. Then, you can simply drag-and - drop your photos, videos, music, documents between your pc and the BB.

  1. it is starts against the parameters of the auto on / off.  He is currently assigned to be turned off during the wee hours, but sometimes at night it turns itself back ON.  I get emails and calendar notifications at all hours, against my settings.  It does not when I use the full stop option, but I would be just as quickly set it and forget it.

  2. I have traveled in other time zones and it gets stuck on the against the Eastern time zone setting for the timing of the network.

  I went back 3 previous BlackBerry for all of these reasons and technical assistance was of no help.

  Any ideas or suggestions?

  Sorry, but I do not use these features... others will have comments, I'm sure.

  I never checked my sig like this... inside screens configuration BIS (either from the interface for device or your Web of BIS carrier site) there is a field for what is known to work. You can find instructions for access to the configuration of your BIS here:

  Can someone please explain to me how do I upgrade the software? I posted the same question on twitter and I was told that the software updates are individual for each device. Os6 for my device has existed for more than six months now and even though I have friends who are on the same media that I am and that you have upgraded the software to look for an update there aren't all available. Operating system device provided are "released" by specific carriers once that they are certified and trained to their support technicians, but still, you are able to load any carrier the same model by following the instructions below.

  See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

  Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

  1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

  When I sync to outlook 2003 8830, I can not find the device of fields from address to address user 1, 2, 3, 4 all in Outlook 2003.  Although the user field 1, 2, 3, 4 fields, I can't sync them in Outlook.

  in BB desktop software 6.0.0.43, Organizer section, configure the settings, address book, advanced, map the fields.  Defined by user 1 of Profession in Outlook 2003

  Defined by user 2 is joint in Outlook 2003

  Defined by the user is of 3 information in billing in Outlook 2003

  4 user-defined is the billing address in Outlook 2003

  After selecting these, I've been able to synchronize data in Outlook, but I can't figure out how to change the field names in Outlook to make sense to me.

  At least the data sync now.

• Software for Smartphones blackBerry or hardware failure?

  I have a Blackberry Storm 9500 It was originally a Vodaphone BB, but I had unlocked it so I can use it with my o2 account.  It worked fine for about 18 months.  Then one day I used the calculator and despite assuring the app was closed the phone developed a problem when I try to use still images or a camcorder. If I select the camera app, the screen remains blank and I get an alert telling me I should Close other applications and try opening the camera again. It not is not of all the other apps open and despite reformatting and reinstalling the software, the problem remains. The shop did install what I suspect, it was an older version of the software and the camera has functioned well.  However, the software was very dated and instead of the screen upward smoothly leafing contacts or messages, it would stick.  Once the original software has been reinstalled this problem has been resolved, but I returned to have no camera or camera video apps working. Maybe I should think about an upgrade, but to be honest, I am very attached to my Storm and I don't know if they still do a BB with a touchscreen.

  Your advice would be welcome.

  Thanks a lot for your answer.  I'll pass the notice to a friend who has now the BB Phone.  I took the bull by the horns and upgraded to 5860 torch and I am very happy with it.  It's great.

  My desktop crashed and had to be rebuilt.  I have no disc to set up my Pearl 8100.  What downloads can I use to set up my Pearl again.  There is so much I have no idea where to start.  Must I also update my phone as well?  I have never done so in the 3 years I've had it.  Your expertise would be much appreciated.  I lost all my address book both backups.

  BlackBerry 8520 is not material required for the execution of OS 6.0. Therefore, it does not support OS 6.0.

• Smartphones blackBerry 8830 4.5OS Browser Upgrade issuesm, need help

  Howdy! I'm a n00b here, the first post you are looking for help.

  I found the OS 4.5 upgrade when I was searching to find out how to Watch youtube videos. I went through the upgrade and everything seems to work fine. I had my business get back on the BES, so mail works fine.

  When I tried the browser, I could not believe the huge improvement on OS 4.2. Of course, I immediately went on youtube who has try and was impressed. However, when I went to check my hotmail account, I kept getting an error HTTP 500: internal server error. I did a search on it and found the link to change from the BB browser for the Internet Explorer browser. It did not work, so like a madman, I started to change all parameters to see what might work. I managed to screw up until no page charge. I have continued to change some parameters and can now come back in a few pages, but my hotmail will not always come to the top. I used to access my account through msn mobile, then click on the little icon of mail.

  So, I think it would be good to first return the browser to all default settings. Does anyone know where a list of which boxes are checked at the origin and what options are by default in a place clean install?

  Or, maybe someone has already seen this?

  Details: 8830 WE, 4.5.0.135(previous OS 4.2), Sprint, unlimited everything
