• Default object style is not applied

  I use InDesign CS6 on Windows 7. I have a newsletter that I throw quarterly, which contains a lot of pictures. I always feel like my photos using a Style of particular object and in the pane object Styles-> graphic block default Style, I confirmed that the style I want is set as the default. But when I drag in each new photo (or use file-> Place), it always starts as "[no] + ', which means no selected style but only a few replacements. I have no idea where he had the idea to do and selected style each time getting boring over the years. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

  This is a long-standing bug. The style is hard coded, apparently, for the tool framework so normal selected object never styles are applied when you place or no drawing a frame.

  There is an undocumented feature added in CS4 (and it has always worked until CS6 - did not check in more recent versions) which resolves this problem partly. • Object styles cannot be deleted

  I use 8 Captivate and there is some object styles I want to remove the file that I can't. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

  

  These styles with brackets around them are default object styles.  You will not be able to remove them.  It seems that the project has been created using a German version of Captivate?  Is this likely?

• Object style

  Stupid question: I created an object style that works well for more, but the object is still a chart and I want to be a text. I can't find the way to tell this object to be always the text exactly.

  What the object starts as depends on what tool you use to create the framework initially.

  If you use the Rectangle Frame (F) tool, you get a graphic image (the one with X showing).

  If you use the Rectangle (M), then you get an unassigned frame (one will detect an X and not a block of text).

  If you use the text tool (T), then you get an empty text block.

  Assuming you have set your default object style, the last two of the three tools above should create a framework usign the style of the requested object. For the graphic frame, it is defaulted to no style.

  This is the behavior I have with CS4.

• Impossible to hide objects in software simulation

  I create a software Simulation - demo (in Captivate 9). Originally, I tried to hide the mouse on some slides (but show on others). I clicked on the icon from 'hide' in the timeline panel. It worked for me, for all the other projects I've done so far, to date. At first, I thought it was just a question mouse (because it has a slightly different behavior than other objects), but I tried to hide objects on my slide (legends, boxes of highlight, etc.), and Captivate seems to ignore the option "hide" for those as well.

  So far, I tried to save before preview, Captivate, restarted my computer, asking the help of Adobe.

  I want to emphasize: deleting the object of the mouse works (obviously). However, as I am always showing the mouse on the other slides, I would that these slides to have the movement of the mouse rely on the previous slide, which is not the case if I'm the Remove (the mouse starts from the upper left corner instead of the end position of the previous slide) so I would hide it instead of delete so that positions persist throughout the slide.

  The usual confusion!  Sorry for this exclamation, it is is not improved with the new user interface, because now this symbol of the eye is used for more than one use.

  There is a big difference between:

  1. Hide on the stage for the edition of the reasons: that's what makes the eye button in the timeline panel. This has no effect on the visibility of these objects when you preview or after publication.
  2. Hiding in the OUTPUT, this is what you need. In versions prior to 8, this was done by checking a box that says clearly that the object could not be visible in output. CP8 and 9 you must search another button look in the properties panel, the top of the page to the left.
  3. To increase the confusion: this same button eye also exist in the slid Panel &: here, it is intended to hide the links between sources of drag and target objects, has no effect on production, because these links are never visible output.

• Video objects in software simulations

  I recorded a software simulation, and then a video demo separately. I published the demonstration video on the spot. I tried to upload this video as a "video object" in my software simulation. When I try to playback, the "video" object is right there. Is there some magical setting I'm missing to make it work?

• Themes with software Simulations

  I created a theme in Captivate 8 for projects that I put together for the work.  I'm still essentially show Captivate myself, so I'm kinda stuck right now.  I created a software simulation (demo only).  I have all the slides exhibited the demo with regard to highlight boxes, captions, etc.  I basically want to take slide intro and conclusion of my theme/template and insert them into the simulation of software, but I can't understand how do without having to basically build slides from scratch once again.  Also, I used a free theme and tweaked to create one I want to use.  Ideas/suggestions?  Thank you!

  Glad we finally settled it. There is a lot that is not well explained or even not mentioned in the help documentation. I find mostly by trial and error and learned something of this thread. It is always marked unanswered. In case anyone else is looking for a solution to a similar problem, it is a good summary:

  When you create a custom theme, which should be used for courses that include slides of simulation software, never remove the master slide empty. That the master is used by the slides of the software simulation, it does not show the default master slide objects. If there is a background in the main slide, it is not used but replaced by the background that is captured. You will see that "project background" is checked, and the backgrounds captured are numbered and are in the library.

  I just installed the evaluation version of LabVIEW and LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module 2013. Normally, for the design of command I only use Matlab/Simulink but LabVIEW has some advantages and I want to enjoy these benefits. The problem, I think it's boring, it's that I can't use the money controls to change the default control style classis - like bode gain and track of lotus of margin or root below phase

  Hi all

  I found each (anchored to the current text) 'invisible' block with a specific 'AA' object style and change its height SO its offset is > 180 (depending on the origin 0,0 page by default).

  This seems to be simple but, still, who doesn't!

  Replace this:

  myFound.geometricBounds

  with this:

  You must then change the geometricBounds and apply it to the object:

  myFound [i] .geometricBounds = myGB

• Object Style Manager: How to import styles into of CP7 CP8

  Here's my problem:

  1. I open a Captivate file created in CP7
  2. I have it save it under a different filename in CP8
  3. I create a new object Style--say a text caption
  4. I export the Style - I tried just the new style, all styles, all styles for all objects.
  5. I create a new file CP8, save it.
  6. I try and import the styles exported in step 4 and get the error: "cannot import Styles.The you try to import a style file exported from an earlier version of Captivate.

  I don't understand. I opened the file CP7 and re-recorded it with a new name in CP8 in a different location.

  What is the problem?

  OK, I finally have an answer:

  1. Open the CP7 file with default & custom styles
  2. Copy all slides
  3. Create the new file CP8 & save
  4. Paste all of the slides in this new file & save
  5. Object Style Manager: export all styles of all objects
  6. Create / open a file CP8
  7. Object Style Manager: import templates created in step 5

• Cut sections of a software simulation Captivate 7

  I am VERY new to Captivate...

  I have a software simulation which I'm currently editing. I need to cut portions of a clip where the trainer screwed up. I find a way to cut the audio but cannot figure out how to cut the section of the real item. Any suggestions?

  The slides you are here are normal, static slides. A FMR slide looks like this in the timeline:

  

  You can shorten a calendar on static slides, moving forward and backward delays. I see in this example that the clip is just beginning after 2 minutes! The text of the legend of the mouse object and select button also appear later. Select these 4 objects and drag them to the beginning of the slide (you can also use the accordion calendar if you want). Then you will be able to shorten the slide itself to the duration of the audio clip.

• Change the default object attributes

  In a document that I created, I mistakenly put in place so that each new form, I create, a box for example, takes on several corners rounded such as effects drop shadow and outer glow, I want.

  I asked these attributes to an object sometimes return to this document, but it was intended only for that one. Now, it happens to every new object.

  How to simply set things back to neutral?

  Is there a place where I can put the default naming style to take photos? I would always appoint as YYYY-MM-DD, such on 2011-02-01 so that the pictures will be displayed always sort in their correct order by year/month and then the day in the folder my pictures, and my subfolders.

• I created an object style to set the distance of the legend of my photos, but the distance is not consistent from one image to the image.

  I create a complex book with many images and chapters.

  I created the object styles to compensate for the distance the images for legends, but the distance changes according to how the image is adjusted within the framework and I don't know what dictates change. Anyone have any ideas?

  I have not marked as correct answer because it is not related to what you have actually done, which has been reset to the scale. Your problem seems to come from having defined preference generally by climbing, adjust the percentage.

  Frankly, I think it is a bug.

• Can I create a form using the object styles in InDesign

  Hello

  Is it possible to create a form in the object Styles I can create in InDesign? I know that I can attribute some qualities, but I would like to create a capsule form that will be repeated throughout a page of lists in our sites.

  So far, I have to copy, paste, and anchor the object in the text which is quite time that we have thousands of ads, and life is too short for mundane tasks.

  If I can create a form of object Styles, by entering its dimensions, it will allow me to create the style for import into InDesign, 4 d, our CMS.

  If not, can we have it in a new construction, please Adobe?

  That can be done with tabs and styles nested using underscore with a custom stroke style. I hope that these screenshots should explain it...
