Solution Center has no e-mail Option

I'm a poster for the first time and hopefully that will describe my problem with enough information to get a solution.

I recently bought a new desktop computer and Photosmart C4680. Given that the computer was not ready for delivery, I took the C4680 House and installed on my laptop running XP SP3. It worked perfectly. The feature I liked was the ability to scan directly to e-mail.

When I took delivery on the desktop (Windows 7 Professional 32) I installed the HP with the same CD software that I used to install on my laptop. Now the scan to e-mail function is not listed as an option in the Solutions Center. When I select SCAN DOCUMENT, only two options are available in the list SHORTCUT SCAN, Document in PDF and Document format in a TIFF file. Scanning to E-mail shortcut is missing. I can scan the Document to PDF and the Document in TIFF format, and both scans are placed in the folder OK scans I can print both formats.

So, if I select the option SCAN PICTURE, the only option in the SHORTCUT SCAN list is image to the file. Scanning to email option is not here either. In addition, after a scan, when I look in the folder where analysis should be placed, there is nothing there.

I have also installed and uninstalled the software several times, and checked for updates. I also tried HP chat to solve the problem and I was directed to a link that did nothing but a point me back to the HP site offered no solution.

My skill level is intermediate for anyone who can help me, please provide detailed instructions. I will do my best to provide feedback to suggestions.

I just got an e-mail from HP, explaining that scanning to e-mail Solution Center option is not compatible with the e-mail based on the web such as hotmail, MSN, Yahoo. It only works with e-mail software based such as Outlook Express.

    Hi mahroch,

The first thing to do to solve this problem would be to run printing HP and doctor Scan. It is a quick and simple tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity. See the following link for more information on downloading, installing and running this tool:

Hi @jwilliamp and welcome to the community of HP!

The Solution Center behave differently on Windows 10, somethings such as printing of CD are no longer supported in the new OS.

Other CD print is there anything else that you see as missing that I can help you to find a workaround for? If you try to print on CD, you will need to find a 3rd party software that allows it.

  • OfficeJet J4680: HP Solution Center has stopped working with Windows 10

From today, after the last version 10 of Windows Update to the HP Solution Center software won't start/open.  After clicking to open, there is a beep and nothing.  No dialogue error or indication that something does not, but the program does not start.

He had worked all the way up through yesterday with the latest versions of the Solution Center and Windows 10 installed.  The only change was an update today which says that it was just an update to the flash player security.

I uninstalled and reinstalled twice, checked to make sure that my private network settings were OK, all to nothing done.  I need it to scan documents.

    Anyone with ideas?

There is a problem with the last Windows security update.  It disables some flash programs, including the HP Solutions Center uses to load.

    Here's a solution:

Enter "View installed updates" in the search bar of Windows.  It will show you an option in Control Panel.

    Click the appropriate option.

Select the "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3132372)" and an uninstall option will appear next to the drop-down list to organize.

Click on uninstall and work through all the guests.

Once uninstalled, the HP Solution Center will work.

  • HP Solution Center has stopped working

    Product model: CB683A
Product name: HP Deskjet F2280 all-in-One Printer
    PrinterSerial number: CN88E4S2GX

    Windows XP SP3

This has been working well up until now. Now when I click on the HP Solution Center nothing happens. In Windows Task manager it is a process present hpqdirec.exe, but nothing appears on one of my two monitors. I left HP update to update all the software, but it made no difference.

Following the suggestion of the FAQ, I went to Windows Paint and did a scan 'from scanner or camera"and access to the printer and scanned ok.

So why this request is no longer appear?

If you are able to analyze correctly, you will have a problem with Adobe Flash.  Flash is required to operate the HP Solution Center.  There are more details in this thread if you are interested:

  • C7283 all-in - One Solution Center has disappeared, and now cannot parse.

My C7283 all-in-one worked many years. Out of the blue, the HP Solution Center disappeared & now I cannot SCAN. I am running Windows 7. The origonal disk rejects the installation. I downloaded the latest version of the software. At the end of installation "Fatal Error" occurs. I disabled my antivirus software during installation. I've tried various places of payware online support & always get sent to HP customer, but just go in circles. I tried HP by phone & no luck. I have uninstalled & reinstalled several times with the same results.

    Hello 1fisheagle

Follow the instructions below to "clean" or "scrub" your printer drivers. I had the same error before and after these steps it is solved for me. (results may vary) The second paragraph usually gives better results that brush instructions tend to be newer than this delivered on CD.

    Of the Original installation CD:
    1. Insert the CD in the drive and then cancel Setup
    2. open my computer and click right then on the CD from the drive and select open
    3 open the Util folder
    4 open the CCC folder
    5. run the L4uninstall.bat
    6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer
7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup
    8. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
    Adobe Flash Player
9 download drivers and full software features
Photosmart C7283 full of software features (Windows 7)
    10. run the download to reinstall the printer

If the software has been downloaded and extracted to your system:
    1. type % temp % in the field of race
    2. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)
    3 open the Util folder
    4 open the CCC folder
    5. run the L4uninstall.bat
    6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer
7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup
    8. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
    Adobe Flash Player
9 download drivers and full software features
Photosmart C7283 full of software features (Windows 7)
    10. run the download to reinstall the printer

  • B209a Solution Center has NO text using Windows XP

Help! I spent HOURS reading post, internet suggestions and nothing worked.

Have Photosmart B209a runs on Windows XP Pro (32). Everything works except the "Solution Center" (which I do need) has no text but it has background and icons, etc.

After crossing mutiple uninstalls and reinstalls without any change, I found that will "SolutionCenter.msi" and click on 'Install' I get, error code 2732.

After searching for the HP forum, I followed these instructions for error Code 2732:

    A ran a 'L4uninstall.bat '.

Restarted, then downloaded the most recent Adobe Flash Player

    Restarted again

    Not activated my anti-virus (AVG)

Down loaded and installed "HP full software & driver" for Photosmart B209a

Still had the same issue of no text "Solution Center".

Thus, according to the instructions... I did the above instructions two TIMES
    Still no text "Solution Center".

Tired of working on this problem, since at his home two days now!

    Can someone help

First of all, the URL you posted related to the image of a funny bird, which was fun to click on (thank you). However, just to be sure that your version of Adobe Flash Player IS up-to-date because usually the types of question is seen connected with an earlier version of the software.

In addition, you download the 'Long' software and drivers from the HP site? Making sure you have the version appropriate for your operating system is also very important as well.

  • HP Solution Center: HP Solution Center has stopped working

I have a HP Officejet 4500 all in one printer, copier, scanner, fax machine.  When I first added the printer to my HP touch computer, everything was fine.  After that I have upgraded to Windows 10, things are complicated.  I used the HP Solution Center software for my scanner.  It worked yesterday, but does not work today.  I uninstalled the software and reinstalled, but now the scanner part does not appear in my devices and Solution Center still does not work.  I can scan from the buttons on the front of the machine, but I don't get the opportunity to change it before the scan is saved.  More embarrassing, and I hope that I don't have to buy a printer that is compatible Windows 10.  No simple solution out there?  I saw some other suggestions for similar problems, and they require a list of steps that I'm not comfortable trying on my own.

Found the solution.  See that the other thread on this forum titled "Center of Solution does not work since the upgrade to Windows 10.  You should go to Windows Update and uninstall the security update 29/12/15, Microsoft pushed the 29/12.  Solution Center and then charge again.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Solutions Center has disappeared

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a laptop HP Pavilion series g.  After using my Officejet Pro 8600 for about a year with great success, all of a sudden when I click on the icon of the printer to my desktop, the Solutions Center (used to give me the menu scanning, etc.) disappeared.  Now, when I click on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 icon, I get a screen that asks if I want A) connect a new printer, B) reconfigure wireless settings or C) add more software.

My wireless settings are fine, and I have no problem to print wireless from any of my computers or other devices.  I can even scan in the menu of the printer, but I prefer to analyse in the menu of the computer, because it allows me to customize the settings more.

I reinstalled the drivers once today, but it does not solve my problem.

    Help, please?

    ~ Cricket

    Salvation of Cricket,

In the temp folder, open the most recent 7z folder of the installation of HP where the MSI file.

Click once on the way to the top folder, it will go the way of the real folder.

    Copy this path.

Right-click on the 64.msi x file and choose repair, once the error appears click Browse and paste the path copied to this folder, then it should complete the repair as expected.

If the problem persists, click on uninstall unser start > programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8600 to remove the software.

Then reinstall the software by clicking on the Setup.exe icon in your temp folder 7z folder.

Please let me know of any problems,

RnrMusicMan: (btw, former musician of Navy for this purpose) I need to send thanks a lot for your answer. I have tried, almost to the point of questioning my sanity, too many times tried too many things and all have failed. Why not go and buy a new printer? Financial considerations. Here's what I've worked with... (finally a good result there, at least the best I know for the moment at the end)

    (1) start here, I have an older HP all C720 printer wireless. I do not think at the moment there is a download of the full version which will allow him to install it in a machine of 8.1. An 8 machine if necessary, but not a 8.1 I do not...? That's what I gathered. Where I made my mistake, so, I was this old horse to battle C7280 installed on my newer HP Pavilion and worked very well with 8.1, (read on before thinking 8.1 work with the C7280) when I say great worked, I mean the Solution Center has worked. Then after a while I improved the Pavilion to 8.1 and everything was fine. A couple of weeks, I had to do a cover of the plant on the HP Pavilion. Instead of installing the software of the printer with the center of solutions right then while he was still an OS 8, I upgraded to 8.1 Loaded my favorite of all the programs and tweaks and tricks. Then I said, I'll install the old workhorse C7280. It would not, not at all, regardless of how many tips I read here, and Googling. Then I tried to install the full version of XP on one of the XP machines. No go. Something I said is prevention. Who could know. I tried to purge the XP what I knew could be related to HP. Shut off all antivirus programs, download fees, etc. etc. ad naseum. I have read and read and tried and failed and failed. You get the drama.

So, I decided that if I could get it on the Acer Aspire one Netbook I could use as a slave, small sorta Acer server. I barely use the netbook anyway. So I couldn't do. Frustration. So I decided JUST ONE MORE ATTEMPT. And here's what I did for Acer.

I did a factory restore. No former antivirus autour. Nothing is added. Presitine and already had Service Pack 3 with the resumption of the plant.  What follows I have none to little idea of his touch, but that's what I did.

    (2) I have an old modem that I had used as a slave of my new modem D-Link. I got it, because many of my devices will not work on the new 'n'.  I think, old modem old printer, old BONES. I have set the printer to get the old o SSID of the slave and agreed which has no password. Fortunately, I know anyone personally that could use this wireless slave and they all have their own.

    (3) so once again, I downloaded the full version of XP on the netbook. Extracted, he ran, and so he went the full installation and works.

That's a lot, but I'm a cheap guy who hates to throw even if old devices, good. I use this Chrome extension called Extension Office remotely in order to get on the netbook from any computer and print using the Solution Center.

I don't know what I did but I know I've worked. So this is my solution. I'm sure some could find another work around, but probably way above my paygrade.

Once again, thanks a lot for taking the time. I think I followed your solution several, much too long and did not work. Unless I was always doing something wrong.  My solution was radical but it works for me always try to use these appliances. I just take good care of them and they last. My most recent is the HP Pavilion and it's going on 2 years now.

Differences or questions please ask. 'Jack :-{D '.
