[SOLVED] Energy Win8.1 (Ideapad Z510) Manager

Hello

I am a new user of Lenovo (Ideapad Z510) with Win 8.1 and I have problems with a feature in Energy Manager (installed original Lenovo disk).

In the settings menu, there is a function "zoom to screen." By using this feature, you should be able to enlarge and reduce the size of menus and icons using Fn + and Fn - buttons. I tried it and all my menus have become bigger, and I can't go back... Whenever I have press Fn - it just sort of plant. A few pictures to see the problem:

(Sorry, that the menu is in Hungarian)

(1) some features

(2) after pressing Fn - icon Manager duplicates the energy and all the bar becomes strange

(3) all menus (right-click right, or even at the office) became huge

Thanks in advance for any help!

Oh, it seems that it is now resolved. If, instead of using the cursor (it has been on the smallest) I went from police in the menu below from 11 to 10, and now it seems fine. I tried to solve the problem with the cursor before, but have not thought to decrease the font size.

Thank you for the help, Jonas!

  • Battery IdeaPad Z510 problem

    Hello everyone,

Last week, I installed 10 64-bit Windows on my laptop (Ideapad z510).

The first time my laptop is suddenly turned off, but the battery was far from empty according to windows. When I tried to start again it appeared that the battery was empty.

I noticed that the percentage that windows reports is incorrect. After 2 hours without power my battery was normally about 30%. Now, it was still above 90%.

I have installed power manager and I use the balanced profile.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

In response to customer relationships of unexpected problems with the performance of the batteries portable Z500 and Z510, Lenovo made an update of the firmware of battery available via download on the Lenovo Forums.

  • How to install W8 in Mode for Lenovo Ideapad Z510 UEFI?

    Hello world

I've been struggling with the w8 installation on my laptop Ideapad z510 in UEFI mode, but not I could succeed it or me I found something that might help. I will explain clearly the case.

    Point 1:
As I understand it, for successful installation in UEFI format w8, we need choose the mode of 'First UEFI"from the Boot Menu in the BIOS. Then, the source of the shoe must be specified to identify the rigid path to documents to be loaded so that the new OS could be installed correctly.

    Pharmacodependance1:
It is possible to choose UEFI boot mode first, but it is not possible to choose the USB for UEFI boot path in this case, which does not allow to succeed a UEFI boot to your computer. You cannot reach the DVD or USB, the installation files are, and start the installation process.

    Point2:

If we consider the first case, you must choose the Legacy Support of your computer startup mode and achieve the USB or DVD drive to install the new operating system on the computer.

    Problem2:
To succeed the UEFI mode when the computer starts, you should see 4 different partitions on your drive to the point of disc selection, if you choose the disk you install your operating system. However, when you select the Legacy Support in BIOS mode, the disk partition is limited to 2 in my case, that are:

    • Main drive
    • Reserved system (350 MB)

That is why, when I continue the installation, the OS is installed on the traditional way. After installation, when I go into the BIOS to choose the UEFI boot mode for mode, the laptop checks some network connections and said

    • EFI network failure 0 for IPv4
    • EFI network failure 0 for IPv6

    respectively.

So, advice, aid, ideas and suggestions are gladly welcome to overcome this problem. Could you please help me?

PS: Please don't say that "you can't install because your computer does not support", because I have received computer technical service and a W8 version has been installed in UEFI mode. However, I deleted to install W8 pro.

    Greetings,

    Okan

First of all, your bootable USB key must be created in the UEFI. Just google and you will find solutions.

You can install W8 mode UEFI. Just allow to boot from USB in BIOS, select Exit Saving changes and restart.

I think it's your basic problem. Let me know if you have already done this and still having the problem.

  • How to invert the fn keys in ideapad z510

    Hello

I recently bought a lenovo ideapad z510 and I have to press fn in order to use the f1 - f12 keys. Is there a way to change this trend so that I don't need to press fn to use the f1 to f12 keys?

    Hi moving.

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

Can you try to go to BIOS by pressing F2 when you power on the system

Once inside the BIOS look for an option that says mode HOTKEY or hotkey, should be under the configuration tab.

change this option and must reverse the use of the FN on your system.

(Remember to press F10 once your done to save the changes you made.

If the hot key mode is not available in BIOS, you may have to wait or consult on the download site of the Lenovo Support for BIOS updates

    Hope this helps

  • The difference between relief Win8 and HP Recovery Manager disks?

    Hello

I'm going to save my brand-new Win8 ENVY 15-j022el and I was wondering what would be the best solution.

    (1) is there a difference between the repair disks created with Windows 7 native file recovery tool and discs created with HP Recovery Manager?

    (2) in addition to the disc repair, can I make a backup of the recovery Partition too? I guess this is possible with the Backup of Win8 tool.

    (3) more a curiosity than a real problem, but... Although I know, the Recovery partition can be used by pressing F11 or F12 key during startup.

There is another use of which can justify 20 GB backup size?

Hope my questions make sense to you.

Each piece of advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Best regards.

    Stef

    Stef,

According to your previous posts, it seems your computer is a laptop of HP ENVY 15-j022el and the document suitable for creating recovery USB media is creating a recovery disk Image or save a recovery Image on a Flash drive (Windows 8).

  • Then an IdeaPad S10 manage a SATA 300 HD?

I dropped my Ideapad at Christmas and who seems to have seriously damaged the HD.

I can see this drive is a WD 160 GB SATA - 150 HD-, but because the SATA-300 discs are cheaper, I would like to put one of those in place.

I am aware that I can get a SATA-150 disc speed - but will it work at all?

    Hello and welcome...

You can use all 2.5 "Sata HDD with high 9.5 mm up to 640 GB (or more) when the trays with 9.5 mm height is available... they have same speed max sata-300, you get the Sata - 150 chipset due speed limits in all netbooks (another way to brands, so it is not limited by lenovo)...

  • How to test water damage/spill? Minor IdeaPad Z510 water spill

Hi all! I am a new Member, so please do not hesitate to correct and inform me of the mistakes that I can do on these forums!

Today, the water was accidentally reversed on my keyboard and trackpad. It wasn't a lot of water but not bad. Water is set on the keyboard for maybe 5 seconds until I could wipe it (following a shock what to do). The water does not go through the keys at all. I immediately turned off the computer after it.

My question is, now I'm on the laptop, all the keys and everything work properly, I don't notice any significant change in processing speed and all the ports work. How would check any damage of the waters of the oil spill? I've had this laptop ~ two months ago and certainly wouldn't return now since I have a lot work in progress. It is useful to send, how long still will take, it will be under warranty, if not how much will it cost?

Thank you for anyone who reads this, or even attempts to answer one of my questions! This community of love!

Am I in your shoes I would be first turns upside down the unit so that the KB's down. I would then blow hot air in the keys remotely using a hair blower/dryer. After that I will begin to open the unit to check further for everything SIP of water by. Blow the additional hot air to ensure that everything is dried up. After that, I'd start checking the AC adapter and the battery according to the recommended procedure in the hardware Maintenance Manual.
