[Solved] Firefox open multiple windows from opening

EDIT: It was this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1081135
Upgrade to 36.0a1 solves the problem

What I have is a facility of evening (35.0a1) for the most part by default
With e10s activated and "when starts every night" value "show my windows and tabs from last time".

Initially, it was very good, early every night he would open only 1 window
Then after a session where I had another open window where I closed the "main" window every night before it began to happen.
The next time I opened every night, it would open my previous session and another with the same tabs (so basically I have 2 windows with the same tabs). Then the closure of the single desk, surf the net and then end the session.
Next time, I opened every night, then open the 2 windows since the last time and creates another (all have the same tabs).

This continues until I restart the system. After the reboot, it would come back 2 windows and so on.
And the behaviour continues even after uninstalling all night, even removing the sessionstore.js or the entire profile folder. I even tried to disable e10s nothing helps.

This has not happened before, I always had that it the value "show my windows and tabs from last time.

I'll take a look. Thank you!

The problem is that I can't open multiple windows of firefox to 1 times. He repeated to me that firefox is running or it turns right on the 2nd time support us firefox icon every time that I do this. Can you please come up with a solution. Yes, we can open several tabs, but cannot get more than 1 session running at the same time.
Is there any solution for this?

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

  • Just installed Firefox on a Mac under OS x 10.6.8 - 7.0.1 installation disc remains an icon on the desktop and whenever I run, Firefox opens a window asking me to drag the icon from Firefox to my Applications folder. How do I get this to go?

I installed the app in my applications folder and everything works perfectly. But normally, after you have installed a browser, the installation disk icon that appears on your desktop can be ejected or removed without. Mine is back...

Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.

Open the DMG file and drag the Firefox program in the folder of the application on your hard drive.

You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.

  • Firefox opens but nothing don't watch/load in the window, the buttons of the menu even not

I open Firefox & a window opens but nothing does not charge or show, not even the menu buttons. Sometimes when you click on blindly around some menus will open but options beyond that don't produce anything either.

I have (not necessarily in this order):
Uninstalled Firefox, deleted all the other files, then reinstalled (twice)... did not help.
Revenue from PC back to before Firefox updated... did not work.
Uninstalled, debugged my PC, reinstalled... did not work.
Disabled the firewall & changed the settings to make sure nothing was blocking it to work... did not work.

At this point, after the support of Mozilla Surf site & not finding anyone else who has this exact question I don't know what else to do. I love Firefox and want to continue using it (I HATE using Internet Explorer), but the only other alternative I can think of is to use Google Chrome or IE.

I have Windows 7, use McAfee, & SpyHunter. My laptop is under 5 years old & I keep reg. thing updated, so I don't think that anything should be obsolete or incompatible.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Currently in version 33, Firefox has implemented a new faster way to loading Web pages. This new feature is called OMTC. However, there are still tweaks to the Mozilla developers make this.

There is a known issue that Mozilla works very hard to fix: If you have black pages on some sites, here's what you can do to avoid the problem in the meantime:

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

    To disable hardware acceleration

    • Click the menu button

      then select Options.

    • In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.

Now, quit Firefox, wait a few seconds and start normally.

Please let us know if this solves the problem. Engineering is also collecting more information on the question would require that you fill out this survey

I should also mention that other users with this problem had a card intel integrated graphics hd with a former current driver. Until Mozilla comes with a fix, if you want hardware acceleration in Firefox, you can try updating your driver through the appropriate link below to see if that helps:

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • I added the newurl it was google job opening now it shows multiple windows and I have to click on the window of google to optimize

I added the NewtabUrl 2.2.3 extension while I entered in google when you open a new window and it worked. I updated firefox and now when I open a new tab I get multiple windows and I have to click on the window of google again to see just google so 2 clicks instead of one--I use it very often.

I don't see any obvious setting in the addon/extension or general settings.

Hello, firefox has added its own page of the new tab with the release of firefox 13 (for more information, see customize the page new tab), he has probably replaced the newtaburl parameters. You can try reinstalling the NewtabUrl 2.2.3 extension and put your new custom tab page.
or you can remove the extension and manually set your new tab page: enter Subject: config in the address bar (you will need to confirm the notification), search for the preference named browser.newtab.url, double-click it and change its value to www.google.com or page of your taste.

  • To open multiple windows, not tabs; Don't let me.

I have Windows XP. Since I've upgraded to 7.0.1 (and today 8.0) I was not able to open multiple windows of Firefox. I did check TABS instead of WINDOWS, but Firefox open or anything, when I try to start a 2nd window of he or she opens a tab. Please fix this.

Do again if you start Firefox save mode?

    • Help > restart with disabled modules

If this does not work properly in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

    • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
    • Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')
  • When I open sites or click on a link and go to another page I get an error indicating that Firefox prevented this page from rederecting automatically to another page

When I open sites or click on a link and go to another page, I get an error indicating that Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. That would be a problem in the settings?

To make the message does not, Options > Advanced Options > general, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page.

  • After the upgrade to v6, while surfing, Firefox opens active tab in a new window several times in time... why?

I use a laptop. When I click on a link or a text field, or when I start typing in the search box on gsmarena.com ... Firefox opens a new window with the active TAB. It's very annoying and I thought it will be OK, but now it began to arrive on PC too. It does not always happen with the same actions and is not reproduced.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

I can't click on links email on all pages. It causes Firefox open multiple tabs a lot, a lot, I can't close. My only recourse is to exit Firefox and restart it. It happens most of the time, while for clicking an e-mail link I have to open another browser altogether.

Make sure it is not set to the Firefox application.

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the request, I understand that when you try to open multiple windows of the first window always wants to stay on top. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

You can switch to the previous window by pressing Alt + Tab, or cycle through all open windows and the desktop by holding the Alt key and pressing repeatedly Tab release Alt to show the selected window.

Also you can mount in cascade windows by right clicking on the toolbar to switch between windows.

    For any future reference.

  • Firefox opens reduced to a minimum and may not display the window upwards (PC)

Firefox "opens" when you click on it, but the window does not appear. Hovering over the icon, the window is visible, but will not appear when selected. Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox; "Parentlock" rebooted, removed and several other fixes.

Could you send us a screen capture when you are hovering over the icon?

Otherwise, you can try to start Firefox in Safe Mode.

    1. Close Firefox completely: open the Task Manager, find the firefox.exe process and end it.
    2. Launch Firefox by holding down SHIFT on your keyboard.

    The Firefox window appears normally?
