Some hypertext Internet links or pop ups do not react

Hello

Please, please I really need help. I'm about to throw the window of Windows Vista and my Toshiba!

For some reason, internet links that I try and click on - trusted sites do not work - I get absolutely no response from my PC - it doesn't even say non-response, it's almost as if she ignored my action click on the link. When I try the same exercise on another computer using Windows XP, it works very well.

Similarly, island pop up to allow me to upload pictures on blogspot.com just ignores the fact that I clicked it.

I searched on all security options. Changed all of them and I tried once again, unfortunately I had no success. There, someone at - it ideas? I would be very grateful.

This question is understandable and it is certainly not some sort of magic solution. If you have written on certain pages, how we must understand your problem.

Can you please send the link of these famous pages? I want to test it with my notebooks (Vista and Windows XP Home edition).

My apologies if this should be in another forum.  In addition, the research I found that the problem is usually that the DLL was not loaded - I did. So I am at a loss. Thank you in advance for your help!

Problem: my .chm output does not have a glossary tab and text glossary in my subjects pop-ups do not work.

Context: since I'm new to TCS 3.5 I will give my whole process. Frankly I do not know if my whole process is correct.

    As follows:

Until I started: I loaded the HHActiveX.dll. Here is the proof:

    HHActiveX_dll.jpg

    1. Create an empty project.
    2. Master page import (file > import > Master Page).
    3. Load settings from the project (file > project settings > import).
    4. Link to the FrameMaker book (file > link > FrameMaker Document)
    5. Configure the properties (right click the book HR of the file, and then click Properties).
    6. In properties, select Convert FrameMaker Table of contents and give a name.
    7. In properties, select Convert glossary and give a name.
    8. Project Manager pod, click the glossary (GLOBAL management system) and click on set as default.
    9. Update of project (file > update > update all).
    10. Run the wizard of Hotspot glossary (when you run the wizard, select the glossary which has been defined as default in step 8)
    11. Change the script UpdateMarkedGlossaryTerms.jsx (change the GlossaryName variable to the glossary created in step 8 and change the variable GlossaryStyle to TextPopUp)
    12. Run the script marked update glossary (pod script, right-click the script UpdateMarkedGlossaryTerms.jsx Explorer and click Run).
    13. Run the graphicinreferencepages.jsx script (this allows to insert my chart of the note of the FM reference pages)
    14. Configure Microsoft HTML Help page layout.  Here are the properties file:

    SSLayoutProperties.jpg

    16. in the properties file, I chose the glossary I had set as my default in step 8.

    17. click on save and produce.

Result: In the .chm file (and display the item selected HR) when I click on a glossary term in a topic, I get "this program cannot display this webpage". In addition, the glossary tab is not displayed.

    Welcome to our community, Linda

In RoboHelp, if you open the pod of glossary (view > pods > glossary > select glossary) you see terms and definitions listed there?

If this isn't the case, it would explain it as the glossary has no entries.

Assuming that it has entries, you can simply activate the tab by clicking on view > pods > project implementation. Expand the Windows section in the nacelle and a double click of your CHM window.

A CHM window looks like this:

If you do not see a CHM window, you will need to create a. If you do see a CHM window, double-click it. Then, make sure that the glossary is enabled.

  • Pop - ups being not blocked

I have the latest Firefox (18.0.2) on Mac 10.7.5. A few days ago I have updated with the latest Java (7_13) because we use software in my company that requires it.

Before the update, Firefox blocked two pop-up ads on the web site of my company (www.lawtechnologynews.com).

After the update, the pop - ups are is more blocked. I made sure that the blocker is always enabled and that our areas are not excluded.

    Any ideas?

I realized that during my Java updates and Firefox, I somehow lost the Windows ad blocker extension. Reinstalled, and now it works fine.

  • How do you turn off administrative authentication on windows 7 starter edition, so that the pop - ups do not block the logon screen wallpaper to be defined?

When I try to put a wallpaper of connection with the windows 7 edition program account screen whenever I chose a photo, a message came and he said in details, I had to turn off my administrative authorization.

    Hi Ruth163,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!

User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users.
We do not recommend disable user account control.
If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

Use the following procedure to change UAC settings.
To perform this procedure, you must be logged on as a local administrator or provide the credentials of a member of the local Administrators group.
    To change UAC settings:
    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.
    2. in Control Panel, click user accounts.
    3. in the window user accounts, click user accounts.
    4. in the tasks window user accounts, click Enable user account control or disable.
    5. If user account control dialog box appears, confirm that the displayed action corresponds to what you want, and then click Yes.
    6. in the Security section of the Windows solution Center page, click on adjust UAC settings.
    7. on the user account control settings page:
    8. to turn off UAC, move the slider to never notify, and then click OK.

    9. to enable UAC or change levels of notification, move the cursor over the appropriate notification option, and then click OK.

For more information about user account control, see the following documents:

    It will be useful.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty of pop-ups in browser that support Safari.

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

  • Pop - ups without closing after downloading files using webutil_file_transfer.client_to_as_with_progress on linux machines

We have an Oracle application that runs on windows and linux machines based on the forms. Application server is database to Oracle 11 g and 10g.

There is a feature of the application where the user can download his files to the application server, as well as in the database.

When transfer us files by accessing the application in windows (Internet application), and then download the feature works very well.

When we transfer files by accessing the application on linux machines, then also download files get stored on the database and application server and features works.

However, as soon as the download starts a pop-up is launched by displaying the message like "upload to the application server is in progress."

These pop - ups are not get closed even when the file is downloaded to the application server.

Can you please let me know how to deal with this behavior

Application server is database to Oracle 11 g and 10g.

And you release Forms?  We can only "Assume" you use form 10g since you are using Oracle Application Server (OAS) 10g.  But of course you "Assume" you use OAS 10g since you specifically mentioned.

Since you have a deployed Web app forms, it would be also useful to know-your-client Java and browser versions.

We have an Oracle application that runs on windows and linux machines based on the forms.

When we transfer files by accessing the application on linux machines, then also download files get stored on the database and application server and features works.

However, as soon as the download starts a pop-up is launched by displaying the message like "upload to the application server is in progress."

WebUtil is a single library of Windows.  While some of the methods in the library will work on non-windows clients - they are not guaranteed to work on non-windows clients.

These pop - ups are not get closed even when the file is downloaded to the application server.

Since you are actually able to get this method to work, I suggest you check the version of the Client operating system and if it's Windows, use the Client_To_As_With_Progress() method and if it's not Windows, then simply use the Client_To_AS() method.  The other option would be to implement a Javabean to file transfer (A FTP Java Bean - Oracle Forms PJCs/Java Beans) in your form that works with any version of operating system Client.

  • I've updated to Firefox and now get the unwanted pop ups and redirections that wasn't a problem before.

The pop ups were not on the old system and seems attached to some site I open, opening multi-site. I might have to stop usingFfirefox, if this is not fixed.

Hello jgibbs99, you could get deceived by a malicious Web site by downloading a fake update - a true firefox update will contain never this kind of noise you describe! Furthermore updates are managed in-house by firefox if you are asked to download and run a .exe file to update to firefox, it will be false (you can manually check the updates in firefox by going to firefox > help > about firefox).

    Please, try the following steps:

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    2. then go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or of potentially unwanted software there (sort the programs installed for their installation date to see what he got recently installed).
    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
