Sonos?

I just saw the banner, but what is Apple music on Sonos? Thank you.

It is the ability to link an account Apple music to your Sonos controller/app, in the same way you do for play Spotify through Sonos systems. Sonos uses its own proprietary network rather than having to use the feature Apple's Airplay (though that in my view, there are solutions if you have some extra Sonos equipment). More info here:

  • Sonos access playlists itunes stored on Time Capsule?

I moved itunes to my file storage folder on my Time Capsule, but when I arrived in Manage > SONOS music library settings, I can not understand how to connect to Time Capsule. I guess I have to select "on a network device such as a network attached storage (NAS)", but I don't know what to do next.

    Help, please!

Files stored on the Time Capsule, his internal drive or an external drive attached to its USB port, are considered as network drives. If your SONOS application can access network drives, then it should be able to locate these files on the Time Capsule.

Since I don't have a SONOS device to check, the typical path on the drive would be: \ < name of base station >-< partition or the shared disk name >

  • How can I get a 'protected audio file' playing on Sonos?

How can I play music from iTunes on a Sonos system?  Some of them will not play.  says that it is protected.

If it's really a protected iTunes file you can play by using the Apple software.  Apple discontinued the element of political upgrade and you can pass only to unprotected by subscribing to the game for a year. Either that or burn the element on a CD and it rip (with possible additional quality loss).

  • removed iTunes playlists appear as Sonos 'playlists imported' - how can I remove them?

Recently installed Sonos and also uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. I had much rather use iTunes to build playlists, Sonos is cludgy.

After the restructuring of the location of my music files to just iTunes, Sonos can see all the music and he can see new reading lists in iTunes. However, the list 'imported playlists' Sonos contains about ten playlists old iTunes that were deleted.

I wish you to know how to remove or hide so that Sonos does not index the... I suspect that iTunes uninstall were incomplete and that there are entries from registry scrub on the works, but if I knew that, I wouldn't post now, I?

  • I am EXTREMELY disappointed in conversion of Sonos.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed by the outcome of Apple / conversion of Sonos.  What really upset me, now, is that for you is completely useless.  All songs ever.  They play a minute or two and move on to the next and she finishes ever and so on until, after about 10 minutes stops just of transmission...  And yes I installed the last "fix" today who was supposed to address issues of Apple.  NOT.  And no don't tell me my network is watered as Pandora works beautifully.  At this point, I'm ready to scrap of Sonos and get some wireless speakers and run music Apple out of my Mac.  This is quite unacceptable. I don't get no no only error message "the song is not encoded correctly." when I run the error log.

I've been using Apple music since the beta on Sonos. The same problem happened in October happened to me just yesterday. I don't know that they're going to fix it as soon as possible a lot of discussion about it on Sonos Council too. But really annoying because we love our Sonos.

  • Are there plans to allow access of Sonos to match iTunes library without having to subscribe to the Apple's music?

Wanting to use my iTunes game subscription with Sonos speakers but the only way to do this currently is with Apple's music subscription. Seems pretty easy for Apple to do this job if you can do this through Apple music account.

  • In the Sonos/DRM iTunes copy protection - help!

    Hello world

I followed the tips in this article: on iTunes Plus - Apple Support, about how to get around iTunes downloads that have been protected against copying.

It worked I had about 800 + the songs that were copy protected, so after reading the article and wanting to get my Sonos system to play some of my favorite music, I trashed my old songs via iTunes copy-protected and only he re-uploaded the new DRM no so-called songs via my purchase history.

After an hour to do, I opened iTunes and - unfortunately - my 'new' songs are still protected AAC files. File for each song information shows the date of purchase, and when it was still downloaded. In my case, there are about 30 minutes.

Any ideas? I would prefer not to have to burn everything on CDs - that's a lot of CDs that will only be used once.

    Thank you all

    Christian.

    Hello

When you remove the original track and re-download previous purchases only get you the same way you bought it. Before iTunes game, you might pay a little extra through the upgrade to iTunes more.

You must register to Match iTunes to be able to remove the DRM. Subscribe to iTunes game - Apple Support

  • Subscription music Apple will allow streaming of DRM protected songs ITunes on Sonos?

Apple allows music streaming of DRM protected songs ITunes on Sonos?

For several years, I was unable to play a lot of songs that I bought from ITunes on my Sonos system because of the DRM protections.  In the past, the only option was to manually delete songs or albums and then re - download via ICloud.  Because I have a few thousand songs with DRM protection this option was and remains completely unrealistic.  Does anyone know if the new music from Apple on Sonos announced will allow playback of all your music ITunes (DRM protected and even burned a ripped to CD) across the platform of Sonos?  Thank you!

Yes and no. Apple music is like iTunes game that all your music is offset by the Apple servers. Any music that is offset by the server is not getting downloaded. Only music that is not put into correspondence is downloaded. Sonos will play your music Server Apple not your computer for any music with DRM that was paired successfully can be read. All music that cannot be matched is downloaded and when Sonos tries to play it - it will fail. Google Match and DRM iTunes for more information.

  • the new sonos application

is he here to listen to the music to my motto sonos directly from the iTunes app. The screen of iTunes to sonos is hard to use compared to iTunes

I do not think that iTunes has full support of third party specific integrated. Apple tends to provide interfaces that allow developers to make things work with what Apple decides to provide. In other words one-third must adopt to Apple, Apple does not pass to a third party.

Have you checked on what features are available for Sonos to their support site?

  • Sonos and ReadyNAS 102 v6.4.1 compatibility

I use a ReadyNas 102 to serve files from music for a Sonos system.

Everything worked perfectly under firmware 6.4.0, but after upgrading to Sonos 6.4.1, is no longer able to index or see about two-thirds of the content (files flac and mp3).

Decommissioning of 6.4.0 snaps back and Sonos works as expected and is able to index my entire collection.

the upgrade of ReadyNas is the only thing that's changed.

    Any ideas what's happening?

  • Apple TV 4 and PlayBar Sonos...

I have a new Apple TV and I'm pretty happy with it, but like most, I am disappointed that they declined the optical connection. My Denon AVR1912 receiver died recently, so I thought to simplify my Home Theater and buy a Sonos Playbar with the Sub. Does anyone have any experience with this configuration? I think the connection should be fairly straightforward: Apple TV connected to Samsung TV via HDMI, and Samsung TV connected to the playback bar via optical. Who will send Audio through the PlayBar during playback of music? The TV is fairly recent, about 1 1/2 years and has an optical output. Comments? Suggestions?

    Jim

Is not a bar to reading, but have a Bose system connected via the optical output on my Sony TV and it works perfectly.

  • My non-visible music in Sonos

Used Apple music for a few months and have added various albums to the folder 'my music '.

These albums are not visible in Apple music and Im only able to play albums when I search for them through Apple's music.

You should be able to play through my music and not to go again and again.

It took about 2 hours for my music to be filled in version beta of the Sonos application Apple's music. Last night I was playing my holiday through Apple's music playlist. This changes everything for me! At present, we cannot edit playlists - I hope that the changes in the future. I'm not surprised that the heads of singing are not incremented but who no matter a lot to me in any case.

  • Family XP sharing anything, printer, files (cannot get music to work with sonos) HELP!

    not serious.

so, for a time looong, I had problems with sharing things on our old XP home computer.

I lived with it until now, but since I got a sonos zoneplayer S5, I have to be able to share music folder or at least all of the subfolders, since that's how he gets his music.

the problem come when I choose the folder in the program of sonos.

1 I choose the folder to share

    2. it appears saying: setting permissions

3 it goes to the next screen, where he waits, then appears with an error indicating that the DESKTOP COMPUTER is not responding (OFFICE-COMP is the name of the computer)

I was able to share my music on my computer windows 7. but since I was a lot more music on the XP and little space on my computer of W7 I can not move the files to the W7

If I could get a SIN if all fails.

    Hello Dumle29,

I suggest that you take in hand the folder you are trying to share and check if you have the same problem. Go to the Windows XP computer.

    a. right click on the shared folder that you want to review and then click Properties.

    b. click on the sharing tab, and then click Permissions.

    c. examine the permissions and change all the settings which contradict the permissions you want for your user account.

  • Throw to Sonos

My two Sonos speakers appear as options when I select throw since the walkman on my Z3 Compact application. If I connect to one of the speakers the app report as it connected and stops the sound on the speaker phone, but there is no sound from the speaker of Sonos.

The Sonos works perfectly and is connected by ethernet on the same network that my phone is connected to the Wireless.

Browsing the web, there seems to be various reports of Sonos works successfully with throw on the phone and other reports of no sound. Someone at - it advice on how to start troubleshooting?

So that the stream of work, your system must be compatible DLNA and also act as DLNA Media Renderer. From what I could find, I have fear of Sonos does not support DLNA: https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1111/kw/dlna

But it seems that they have an app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonos.acr), maybe you can listen to your music using that?
