Please read carefully, the A7II (which is what the original user) can be read by Lightroom 5.7.1, according to Adobe.

The A7R II (which is not what the original question asked on) requires Lightroom 6.2

If I understand correctly, there are two formats of Raw for the A7II files: apart from the support of 14 and including 14-bit are supported (via a firmware update).

5.7.1 Lightroom can read the Raw files, apart from the support of 14 bits, of the A7II.

14-bit uncompressed Raw support was only added to the A7II with an update of the firmware of Sony in November 2015.

This update of the firmware can only be read by Lightroom 6.2.

uncompressed 14 bit Raw support is already added to the A7RII in October 2015.

No, it isn't. The latest version only.

If you do not want to go to 6.3 or CC, you can use the latest DNG converter, convert your images to DNG and import those in 5.7.1.

If they are uncompressed RAW files must be minimum v6.2 Lightroom.

This update of the firmware can only be read by Lightroom 6.2. You would be advised to upgrade to the current version which is v6.3

    Hi Monika,

What version of Lightroom you have?

Support for Sony A7II has been added in Lightroom 5.7.1: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

If you have 5 Lightroom, then you can find out in 5.7.1.

If you have an earlier version, you must upgrade to a newer version if you do not want to use the DNG Converter.

    Kind regards

  • RAW for Sony a7ii support

When I first installed Lightroom less than a month ago, I had the raw for Sony A7ii support.  Now lightroom tells me that the files are not supported.  Any suggestions?

The Sony A7M2 ILÇE is supported in the latest version. You have reattached. Check the Help menu that you are running version 5.7.1 and if not updated.

  • Photos: import uncompressed raw files

I've updated my camera (Sony alpha 7 ii) with the 2.0 firmware update. Now I can put my photos in uncompressed raw format. However, both of my macs (Yosemite 10.10.5) do not seem to support this format. Neither Apple Fotos 1.0.1 - she any images from an Sd Card and I can see them for a few seconds in my library before they darken one after the other. Thanks in advance for any help.

The integrated gross Apple can't necessarily all RAW formats, your camera can produce. Generally, they don't support the "plain vanilla" default format. Until Apple releases an update for the RAW processor, you will need to use another treatment of RAW or switch it to compressed RAW. The image you see "a few seconds" is the preview jpeg embedded in the RAW file.

What should I switch to Lightroom 6? (He is so...)

Is there a plan to support in version 5?

    Hello

I think you need v6.2 LR regarding the R2... A7r Sony II uncompressed raw file support in Camera Raw and Lightroom

The uncompressed RAW support appeared in November 2015.

I would like to try a trial of v6.2 or you could download the latest version of the DNG Converter, convert to DNG and then import them into v5.7.1

Adobe will not update older versions of Lightroom, only the current.

The A77.2 is not listed as a camera newly taken in charge in ACR 8.5 RC available on Adobe Labs: http://labs.adobe.com

But it could be added before the final release of 8.5 of ACR, some time before July 31, the date to which the RC will expire.  Otherwise, a new plug-in from ACR is published every 3 or 4 months.

Hi Allen, DSC RX 100 needs ACR 7.2 which is taken in charge with PES 11

You must upgrade to 11 PES or DNG converter allows you to convert RAW images to DNG so that you can use in PES 9

  • What happens if I use a 16 to 70mm aps - c format lens on my camera sony a7ii mirrorless

So, I have the Sony A7ii mirrorless and the Vario - Tessar T * E 16-70 mm F4 ZA OSS (SEL1670Z) Sony (which is an e mount lens).

The goal is for aps - c sensor camera and the camera is full frame.

What happens if I use them together? The focal length changes? The cornors will be black in certain focal length? No downside?

Only the lens projects an image of APS - C size. Your A7 II has a size image sensor "full frame". If the Capture of APS-C size option in the menu custom has the value either on or Auto (default setting), the A7 II will record an image of 10MP from the center of its 24MP sensor. If it is set to Off, it will record an image of 24MP which will have a large black border around the APS - C size image.

  • 16-bit greyscale RAW file problems

    All,

First of all, let me start by saying hello. This is my first post.

I'm having a problem as well save as and opening of gray from 16-bit raw files in Photoshop CC 2015.1.2. I am running Photoshop on a PC for Windows 10. The plug of the machine's Core i7 HDD DDR4 / 256GB Solid State OS drive/256 GB solid state Scratch disk/2 TB plateau 6700/32 GB for storage/NVidia GeForce 980TI video card. I don't know all of this information is relevant to the problem that I am experiencing, but I thought I would include it just in case.

I searched a bit on the forums, but questions I've found so far are in reference to Camera Raw files, and that's not what I got. From what I have gathered in my research, the Camera RAW files and height map RAW are not the same thing. I downloaded a map of height .png terrain.party 16-bit gray. When I open the PNG in Photoshop, it opens as a gray 16-bit file (I confirmed this by looking at the settings of the Image/Mode of the file). I then made the essential changes of scale that I have needed to make the picture and click file | Save as. In the file save dialog box, I changed the type of PSD for Photoshop RAW file and clicked on the "Save" button. In the subsequent Options Photoshop RAW dialog, I chose IBM's PC for the byte order and left all other settings at their default values and then click OK.

When I try to open the RAW file I just saved, Photoshop opens new Options RAW Photoshop dialog box but this time it detects the file as a RAW Interleaved of 8 bits. If I try to change it to a 16-bit RAW file, it returns the error "precise Image is superior to the queue. If I leave at 8 bits, and then click OK, the image opens but it looks nothing like the original map height png I was working with, instead, now it looks like snow on a television screen, and when I look at the IMAGE. The mode settings once again, the file shows as a multichannel 8-bit raw file.

What I'm doing wrong here? I use the card to the height to create a unity 3D terrain mesh. The unit only accepts as input grey RAW files, and it is recommended that files be in 16-bit mode. 8 bit files tend to contain too little details and cause the ground to look at as it was built for minecraft (very not smooth rasterized the relief of the track should be). Photoshop (as much as i now) is the only application capable of backup to a grey RAW 16-bit format, but I can't seem to make it work right.

    Thank you

    James Evans

OK, I thought about it out on my own... I spent days trying to solve this problem. It appears that I would find the answer a few minutes after I post the question. The answer is that when you open a grayscale 16 bit raw file in Photoshop, you must change the number of channels 2-to-1. Then it works without problem.
