Sony Media Gallery will not stop trying (and failing) to resettle

After uninstalling the bloatware Sony Media Gallery which is preinstalled on my VAIO laptop (and not the ccleaner registry cleaning then no less), I am constantly bombarded with attempts to reinstall.  The will install not finished (there not all that necessary files). I tried to stop and disable any service from sony on the computer, but attempts to reinstall persist. I can't understand what is triggering triggering. Help me, oh League of Internet Smart People!

  • Windows 7 Media Player will not update files and allow me to remove the old files of the library.

I've been deleting old audio/video files on my computer that also appear in the media player library but when I remove it from the library, it won't let me, but it gives me the options and it will show a pop window of the process he goes through to remove these old library files, but nothing to really occurs because the files remain in the library.

(I guess that Afzal post ended up somehow in the wrong thread).

To get rid of the old songs and videos in the library, you probably need to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

    -Restart the PC.
-Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop .
-Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
-In this folder, rename the folder Media Player as Old Media Player . If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
-Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt.

  • Media Player will not stop playing when the close button is hit.

My media player works fine until I try to close. When I watch a video clip, I make sure that I have 'stop' the clip before I "close" (the little red button with an X in it, which is suppose to close the program) the player or clip will continue to play in the background. If I brings up the Task Manager, it will display no programs running, I can still here the clip and I'm going to start > all programs > media player always plays the same clip. It is not suppose to do this right? If it is then how can I change so it 'close' media player?

    Hi major347,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

This one seems to be really weird when you began experiencing this problem?

You have a connected PDA that uses the media player? Sometimes Windows Mobile Device Center has been continuously the reactivation of WMP.

Another possible issue of the keyboard that you use may control the media player. There are known of the problem with the Logitech keyboard software. Try this if you have a Logitech software update.

Try to open the Task Manager is trying to kill the wmpsideshowgadget.exe process and check if it shutsdown.

If it works there, then, open the CONTROL PANEL

    Double-click WINDOWS SIDESHOW

Uncheck everything that has to do with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

You can also try to disable sharing in media player click on... Tools-> Options-> library-> configure share-> uncheck the two 'media find others to share' & "share my media".

    Check if it works.

When I turn on my psc2110xi and it tries to self-test, the scanner bar will stop not to its normal resting point.  He keeps trying to continue beyond the stop on the right end of the return.   I turn it off, wait a few minutes, try again with the same results.  This machine worked without problem since the day that I bought it new.  Is there a stop that must be verified or the belt may have slipped out of position?  I removed the top of the machine using the directions from hp to clean the inside of the glass to get to try to resolve the problem.  Thanks for reading!

    Hello

It seems to be a failure of the scanner module, which cannot be repaired.

IAM afraid, it is time to replace the printer.

  • Skype will not stop crashing and does not.

Today, I logged on to my computer and launched Skype as usual. Everything was fine until the program has stopped responding. Think nothing of it because it is not a rare ocorance on windows I have just re-opend Skype. Short minute in Skype but still once stopped responding. After this point as soon as I open Skype it would stop responding. I restarted my computer, re-installed skpe and installed the latest version of flash on my system, because I did extensive research in this and that is one of the problems somone had. I would really like to be able to record with my friends and not be stuck using my phone instead of my computer. Also I would like to go out in my taskbar (Image linked and attached) there will be several open skypes both as soon as the error ocours. I don't know if this is relevant, but I'm sespecting it might be. I want to emphasize that the only things that I installed on the system recently is Call Of Duty world at war and Razer Synaps 2.0 if it is a problem of program I want sespect only Synaps if anything.

Seems that I found the solution. I did some more care in what I posted. Here's how I solved my problem.

You click the Start button on the bottom of your screen. After that, you should see just above the option to a button called "Settings", click on that. Once you are in the settings, click on 'update & security' on the right at the bottom. Once here, you should see an option on the very botton that says "Advanced Options", click on that. Once here, there is another option that says "Show your histiory update" once you click on it, there will be another option on the very top which is labeled "Uninstall, updates. Once here, you will need to uninstall the update called "KB3132372".

After doing this and looking back in my settings, I noticed that Windows asked me to re - install this update after you saw that I feel not like it is a solution of perminate to this problem, but it will work for me temporalily and possible anyone else having this problem. Hopfully the Skype team can patch this ASAP.

my friend is trying to send me her photos but obviously the file is too big and his computer is locked everything when trying to send the file.

I tried EvevryThing! The "CREATED WITH ADOBE ELEMENTS 9 TRAIL VERSION FIRST" will not stop Displaying, even after I put in the serial number and Regerstered. Also the product does not show under my profile?

How can I fix it? Nothing in help or on the Site.

Once you have registered the product, you should not see the banner of 'Trial' on NEW projects. This isn't the case, right? You only see on the project that you created before you register the product, right?

That said, to remove the banner, go to the folder of directory on your hard drive where your project PREL files are stored and delete the folder called Adobe Premiere elements preview files.

    Hi marcus,

    1. What is the full error message that you receive?

    2. have you recently trying to install a program on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then repair Microsoft office on the computer and check if it works.

  • Unable to sync music using Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player will not open

Media Center will not sync music!

I recently opened Media Center and I had no music in the library. I have constantly played music from the library so I didn't know what is happening. When I try installing the library again once it tells me that a necessary component for Windows Media Center is not available. I have not changed or downloaded something different. I went to check if Windows media Player is the multimedia file sharing. The message I get from that is, basically, that something is missing.  Now my Windows Media Player is not even opened. I wonder if my Zune Player (80 GB) has nothing to do with the problem. I charge my player when this has happened, but I do this all the time so I am at a loss. I went to the page "problem reports and Solution." It is the symbol of the Media Center window and says that the problem is caused by Windows. The solution is to update to windows; which I am fully updated. I tried to restore the system to an earlier date, but that doesn't work anymore. I'm at a loss to know what being of any help would be appreciated.

As a side note video playback, TV and photos also works very well in Media Center.

    Thank you

    Shay

    Thank you, Shay

    Hi Shay,

You can try the following steps and check the result:

Step 1: Run the sfc scan to repair system files missing and corrupt.

    a. Click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right click Guest and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    b. type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

If the problem persists, try the reconstruction of the library:

Step 2: Library rebuild Windows media player.

This problem can also occur if the library is corrupted. Rebuild the library and check if this solves the problem.

    Follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

    3. Select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click on start, run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.

    3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.
